I went here yesterday for the first time for some brunch with friends. The space is super cute and we sat right next to the window, which provided a ton of natural sunlight. We all started with the brunch punch that came in the most adorable crystal cut punch glasses. The punch was fruity and delicious without being overly sweet. Great alternative to the brunch classic, mimosas. I ordered the duck confit hash with poached eggs. The duck was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was served with the perfect amount of potatoes to make the meal hearty, but not overly filling. The eggs were cooked to perfected and oozed over the hash. We ended our meal with splitting the doughnuts. They were covered in cinnamon sugar and served with a velvet-y caramel sauce. Overall, this was a great way to start my Saturday. I look forward to returning and trying more of the menu.

This place is amazing. Tucked away in south Williamsburg with a pretty unsuspecting storefront and a few tables outside for al fresco dining in the summer, the food at this place is really just SO AMAZING that I'm shocked it's not more crowded more often. I've come here a couples times, once for the prix fixe (which is a BOMB DEAL) and for their regular menu and everything that I've had here is good. An interesting thing that they did the last time I came for the prix fixe was that served me and my husband two completely different dishes which gave us a chance to try a lot of different things from the menu. Their menu has a lot of different types of dishes (and dishes that are vegetarian friendly) and all the dishes that I had were really well balanced. I've never had an oyster here that I didn't love, the rolls are to die for (break your no carb rule for this one, seriously), their pastas are delicious and in reasonable portions if you want a smaller main dish. I've also had the steak and duck confit, all of which blew me away. To go along with all this great food, they have a tasty cocktail menu as well. Service has always been really pleasant. If I had to complain about anything at all, I would say that their AC inside the restaurant is kinda strong so bring a cardi if you're a girl in a cute dress on a date. But really, I mean I threw that last one in there just for good measure so you guys would know that I'm a real human being and not just writing shill for this place. I almost didn't want to review this place so you people wouldn't know about this gem, but sharing is caring and I'm a caring kind of person. xo

Consistently the best restaurant in Williamsburg.. Well executed, sophisticated cuisine that's not too heavy. The freshest ingredients and combinations. Great wine list and 80's soundtrack. Cool interior decor. Attentive but low key servers. This has become to the "go to" date spot for my partner and I; just wish it wasn't a mile from our apartment!

These guys are a welcome treat to the Southside. The food's a dream, the staff's a dream. The menu changes frequently and you're never let down by their creativity. It's also a great place to eat at the bar if you're looking to have a chat with some of the nicest bartenders around. Also, the artichoke salad of Dumont/Dressler past brought us in...the ever changing incredible menu keeps us coming back.

Came here for a brunch with 3 friends. It was easy to get a last minute reservation on a Sunday afternoon. When we got here around noon, it was pretty empty but tables filled up as it got later. We had the doughnuts for starters, which came out fresh and were delicious with the jam. For my entree, I had the salmon and poached eggs, which was really tasty. The service was pretty attentive and allowed us to sit at the table for as long as we wanted. Restaurant has a very cute and homey ambiance.

Simple dishes done extremely well. We visited meadowsweet for our 2nd anniversary and were very pleased with the relaxed atmosphere yet beautiful decor, superb staff, and delicious food. This is the type of place with few dishes prepared with minimal added ingredients and honed in on optimal flavor. My kind of place. My husband and I created our own tasting menu which the waiter brought out as courses. We had the crispy artichoke salad, day boat scallops, tajarin with black truffle, hanger steak with arugula pesto and roasted carrots with labneh and zaatar. Everything and I mean everything was delicious. The scallop was as simple as two scallops with Fava beans and peas, but it was cooked perfectly and of quality ingredients. This is why this place stands out. I'm a big texture person and the texture of everything was great, from the hand rolled pasta to the tenderness of the carrots. I felt the prices however were extremely high for what is given. I know it's fine dining but for $16 I could count the artichoke pieces on one hand and it frankly was not enough food. And two scallops for $17? Ludicrous. The tajarin was done in two mouthfuls. We left satisfied but definitely expected more. We shared the blueberry crumble for dessert and it was out of this world delicious. Perfect balance and some of the tastiest freshest berries I've had. And adding lemon curd was a perfect touch. I would come back because I loved everything about this place, despite its steepness. The manager even brought us free prosecco in celebration of our anniversary and took multiple pictures of us with our phones. Such a warm and inviting experience that I know meadowsweet will be calling me back soon.

Management here is awful!!! We were a group of 10 and spent over $1200, as we left some my guests took flowers from the table. The restaurant called us 5 minutes later to threaten that they would charge our cards if we did not bring the flowers back and said that they had the incident on camera!!!! We thought it was a joke!!! We brought back the two flowers + gave them an extra 10 bucks for the trouble (we Google the flowers and they are worth $3 to $5) when we arrived with the flowers we were confronted by the manager and a hot head bartender who kept harassing us and seemed to want to get into a physical fight about this stupid issued. The bartender was raising his voice for all the other guests in the restaurants to hear, it was really embarrassing. It left a really bad taste in everyone's mouth and none of us will every go back. This place sucks, don't go!!!!

Went to meadowsweet for brunch and it was an absolute delight! I had the ratatouille and poached eggs and the rum punch. Everything was cooked to perfection, the coffee was great and the staff were so delightful! The decor is also lovely and the bathrooms were great. Also, they didn't rush me and my friend out the door and we sat and enjoyed ourselves without feeling any pressure to clear out. And it was so affordable! Less than $25 for booze, coffee and delicious food, definitely going back.

The more I venture into Williamsburg the more I'm growing to love the area. It's the new hip place to open restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques etc. The BF surprised me for the evening and took me to Meadowsweet, a delightful place that just earned their first Michelin star and is located across the street from Peter & Luger (a new bucket list place). The menu at Meadowsweet is perfect for sharing small plates between two people or a small group. There are some larger plates, however when the small plates are so extraordinary who wants to limit themselves to one entree when I can choose four small plates and taste them all. The menu changes daily, however there are some menu staples that continue to appear with subtle variations. The crispy baby artichoke dish was light and refreshing and the combination of the peppery arugula with the creamy garlic dressing was divine and an excellent way to start the evening. We also sampled the Peekytoe Crab cakes with tomatillo salsa verde and avocado. This was by far one of my favorite dishes of the night. The tomatillo salsa was perfection and had just a hint of cilantro that combined with the avocado and crab was truly a sensational bite. Without a doubt Meadowsweet also has the best Spanish Octopus dish I have ever tasted. Octopus is one of those items that if it's on a menu I have to have it. It was an extraordinary preparation and if it ever appears on the menu again I will order two and they will both be for me, no sharing and no apology. For our last savory dish we also shared a homemade pasta which was also excellent and perfect for sharing. For dessert we shared a sweet corn flavored cake that had just a hint of sweetness and an authentic corn flavor throughout. It is a unique dessert that I will remember forever. Meadowsweet has a gorgeous interior space with beautiful hexagonal tiles on the floor giving it that old school feel. A small bar area up front and towards the back a romantic dining atmosphere for couples to enjoy quiet conversations. Service was exceptional from the hostess to our server, we were taken care of through the entire evening. Meadowsweet makes my top 5 list of New York dining destinations and I can't wait to return again, maybe I'll see you there.

Very good place, but also very loud. Everyone talks very loudly and just escalates. They were accommodating. I had a reservation and was a little late, the woman on the phone said we only hold tables for 15 minutes. But was somewhat dismissive about it. But when we got there past the 15 minutes and were seated immediately. The pork chop was great. Cooked medium rare with a little slide of pork belly on the side. The pasta starter, was very good, and had a great mushroom taste, but was very small, despite the $18 price tag. Overall, a bit pricey for what it was, but good food nonetheless.

Went for dinner with friends and we were so disappointed with the service, manager is oblivious to good service and accommodating patrons. It was a horrible experience. I don't recommend for small or large groups in this establishment. Overall HORRIBLE experience. NEVER going back. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!

I'd visited Meadowsweet once before in its prior incarnation at a time when it was still known as The Dressler. After a series of tragic occurrences, including the death of well-loved restaurateur Colin Devlin, the Dressler's chef Polo Dobkin and his wife Stephanie Lempert took over the space. They outfitted the space with a brighter, airier ambiance, renamed it Meadowsweet, and created a menu that featured modern American fare with plenty of Mediterranean influences. In that same year, the restaurant took back its Michelin star and became yet another Williamsburg success story. The earliest occasion I could visit was one weekend afternoon, when a friend and I were looking for a space for a casual brunch. Meadowsweet was an easy choice, especially as they had just rolled out their brunch menu. On the day of, I was the first to arrive, and the hostess was quick to seat me, even though my friend had yet to arrive. I was able to settle in and peruse the menu and once we both were present, had our orders taken with ease. I went with a simple Chorizo Hash and Poached Eggs, a dish that took a serving of well-spiced chorizo over a bed of potatoes and topped it off with two poached eggs and a lightly dressed salad. The potatoes were crispy and lightly seasoned, but I was a little dismayed to find a significant amount of moisture had seeped out from the chorizo mixture, which rendered a good portion of the salad leaves soggy. Thankfully, the eggs were perfectly poached, and the runny yolks contrasted smartly with a tomatillo salsa verde, which made for an overall balanced dish. While tasty, it wasn't particularly memorable, and not as filling as I'd expected. I feel a little divided leaving this review, as brunch is not one of the best meals to judge the caliber of a restaurant by. For those looking for a reasonably-priced restaurant for a brunch that won't be rowdy or rushed, Meadowsweet will definitely fit the bill. However, I can't say for sure whether or not the food is up to par until I make a return visit for dinner, especially as the restaurant recently launched a 5-course dinner for $65 available on Sunday-Thursday evenings.

Great location in Brooklyn across the street from Peter Luger. Very friendly service and comfortable seating. I had a very memorable plate of crispy baby artichokes. I found the restaurant to be a bit pricy though.

Sometimes you have to cross the river to South Williamsburg and walk past Peter Luger to find something special and Meadowsweet should be your reason . Décor is spot on , ambience is great and crowd is a non hipster non pretentious blend. Now to the food , which is amazing ! Starters Scallops over pancetta - amazing , cooked perfectly with plenty of flavor . Smoked Trout crepe - was probably one of my favorite dishes Poached egg over mushrooms - perfectly cooked egg which drizzled the good stuff Entrees Pork chop- seriously yummy . Wild sea bass - meaty yet moist saddled on broccoli rabe and tomatoes We tried 3 of the deserts which were all yummy incorporating unique twists of coffee and popcorn . I am still amazed how this little neighborhood has changed so much but honestly cant wait to come back . I got hungry again just writing the review . Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly so don't be afraid to ask .

Based on the other Yelp reviews, I was hoping to score this spot 5 stars too. However, I can't. I was happy to find parking right away-big plus. We were early for our reservation and encouraged to sit at the bar till the rest of our party arrived. The bar had more boutique bottles. The bartender was knowledgable and their drink menu was fun. Once we sat at our table the amazing waitress brought us two rolls. The rolls had some sea salt on top and a butter base. They were delicious. One of the girls at our table ate only the artichoke appetizer. The other 3 of us shared day boat scallops, St. Louis ribs, seafood tagliatelle, truffle mushroom pasta, plancha marina and lamb. Sounds like a lot, right? Well we all left a bit hungry and the bill was about $400 with a few drinks!!!! The portions were ridiculously small. The scallops were delicious-my favorite item. They were cooked right and blended well with what they were on. There were 2. The St. Louis ribs were tasty but only 5 for $16? The seafood tagliatelle was a bit plain and small. The truffle pasta we all agreed was another hit, but very small! We also all agreed that we didn't like the plancha marina. It tasted fishy and plain. The lamb was good, but listed as an entree and once again-extremely small. The dishes reminded me more of tapas at entree prices. As much as we liked the service, drink menu and some items-we don't plan to return.

Excellent experience. We made reservations for brunch at 12:45 and everything went smooth. The service was excellent. The highlights for the food were the tamales, which were light, and simply delicious. We will be back for those. We also ordered the 3 egg omelet which was great. I had a brunch punch and although I don't really like grapefruit, it did the job. Overall just a very pleasant experience with great service.

Went here with my wife for Dinner on a Monday night and sat outside. The restaurant, outdoor seating and service are very nice. The food, portion sizes and prices....not so much. We orderered the crispy baby artichokes which were ok but not nearly as good as they used to be at Dumont and very expensive. My wife ordered the ribs. For the price you pay you only get three ribs which is a crazy ripoff in any city. I ordered the Salmon. Tasted very fishy and whatever it was placed on was gross only ate a few bites and did not finish. If you only want to have a drink this place might be ok but we don't drink we came for a delicious meal because of the yelp reviews. I will now be very weary of yelp reviews in the future as this restaurant is a place we will never return to. With so many options in the neighborhood why waste your money? 2 apps 1 entree no alcohol only water = $80 with tip.

Bad: food came way too quick. Almost no wait at all. For a one star Michelin, you better let people chill out a bit. Hmm. Good: really good food. And bonus, it's Brooklyn so much more reasonable than Manhattan. Did Fedora a few weeks back and bleh. That was pricey and mediocre. This is better AND cheaper. Crazy. Love the multi colored hex tile! Nobody notices these details? Damn. Everyone's too busy putting their food on Instagram. Bread was hot and homemade with flakes of salt on top. Goes great with homemade herb butter. Loved the cuscino with real Parmesan flakes and squash filling. Steak was very good with truffles. Also good was chicken with pickled onions and cabbage. Don't forget the dessert! Not to miss. Big kisses to the pastry dessert chef! Obviously all prepared ahead of time. Preferred the frozen lemon pie with salted almonds. But chocolate speculos passion fruit inside Eskimo meringue was good too. Oh, also have to recommend the Malbec. Very good. Benegas. But white will likely pair better with most of the menu.

Came here on Sunday with my girlfriend for her birthday. First and foremost, the interior design/aesthetic is beautiful. Seems to be a common vibe in Billy Burg these days of the art deco/minimalist throwback. We had a 2 top up front, which on a night that the high was 8, was not the best location, but we made do. Tabatha our waitress was lovely and super attentive. She made the experience that much more enjoyable. I had the chicken, which if it wasn't totally inappropriate I would have tried to lick the bowl it was so delicious. I think chicken can be a risk, especially if it is overcooked and dries out, but the knocked it out of the park. My girlfriend had the artichoke salad and a special and craved more after she was finished. We will definitely be returning once again because there were too many amazing things on the menu, and cocktails that I am yearning to try. Top marks Meadsweet!

*** Get in while the place is still relatively unknown, because once word gets out on how great this place is, it's gonna be one tough resey +++ - Waitress was great on suggestions, instead of upselling the most expensive items, she was genuine in her suggestions ++ - St. Louis ribs were amazing. The sauce was think, I think it needed to be eaten with a side - Cuscino was like ravioli, deconstructed - We had cheesecake for dessert, This ain't your daddy's cheesecake. I thought I had it all, until now. + - We had one of the salads, I forgot which one, but it doesn't matter bc everything here is great - I ordered the cider , the one from Missouri (Uncle Johns), it's huge. Two people can share. It's kind of bitter too, although the waitress told me it was sweet - The Mrs ordered a drink, Idk how it tasted, all I got to do is look it at. It must have been good. TIPS: - We went Sunday about a half hour after it opened, we were able to walk right in, sans reservation

Solid food but too expensive and the portions are small. The appetizers stick out as being way to expensive for what they contain and the flavors didn't stand out as amazing. I was also surprised that they didn't have any beers on tap and many of the bottled beers are twenty dollars. The decor is definitely a step down from the restaurant it replaced and seems generic. Overall was not a satisfying experience.

Fantastic experience. We drove up from the DC area to Meadowsweet in Brooklyn on the advice of my brother, who is a food snob. He said that Meadowsweet would be perfect for our date night, and he was correct. We had some travel difficulties, and had to call to delay our reservation. "Not a problem-and you can come later if you need to" was the reply, and once we got there (an hour and 15 mins past our original reservation) we were greeted with "You made it!" and immediate seating to our table (and it was crowded). Prompt, attentive and non-hovering service. The best kind. Our appetizers were the scallops, and arugala/duck breast salad. Both exquisite, and the best scallops I've eaten. If the chef can do scallops well, then usually everything else falls right into place. We shared the halibut entree, and two "shares" plates, the ribs and a pasta dish. Of those three, the pasta (again, with duck breast) was the best, followed by the halibut, and then the ribs. Ribs were good, but not at the same level as the rest of the meal. Oh-the bread in the beginning was fantastic-soft, salty, and just enough olive oil. Prices were reasonable, dress code was casual/business casual, and non-pretentious. This place is a gem. Seriously. Go here and have one of the best meals of your life.

I seriously don't do 5 stars that often for eating establishments, but this place hits all my marks. Easy going, casual place. No attitude whatsoever. Food... Interesting, varied and every single thing we ordered was delish. Prices are reasonable and service was attentive and warm. Tell me... What else would you want when dining with friends? Nice place, great food, nice staff.

So, I came on Mothers' Day, sans my mother, but with my favourite birthday boy. Obviously, it as very busy, but the hostess was very accommodating and allowed us to wait at the bar. I think of myself as a Bloody Mary connoisseur, and meadowsweet's very kind bartender did not disappoint. Spicy and salty and boozy, it made me very happy. The birthday boy got some drink called a Pan Am made with Avua cachaca, which I want to say is a brazillian liquor. Anyways I say the bartender's kind because he looked up the recipe and took the time to make a delicious Pan Am despite the busy brunch crowd. Apparently the Avua can't be found just anywhere so high five for an extremely well stocked bar. Now for the food. Where to even start. Let's just say everything was perfect. The mother's day brunch isnt food they'll be having on their regular menu but here are some notable things just to make you jealous. They make perfect omelettes. Now, I am not going to just throw that word around for fun; I didn't know omelettes could be this good. Extremely light and fluffy with absolutely no dark spots or browning, filled with smoked salmon and goat cheese. Can you imagine the taste? I bet you think you can, but it's actually even better than what you're thinking. I may never eat a diner omelette again. Okay, that's a lie. But seriously I'd eat that omelette every morning forever. They made teeny tiny doughnuts with a caramel dipping sauce. Doughballs would be more accurate. Even the birthday boy, a self proclaimed sugar-hater (I know, why do I even like him), enjoyed a doughball cause they were so delicious and airy. I had polenta with salsa verde, mushrooms and two poached eggs, and black truffle. Need I say more? Jealous yet? That was long. TL;DR? Meadowsweet gets 5 stars across the board: bar service and food, despite the fact that we went on the worst restaurant day of the year. Come try this newly michelin starred little gem!

I went to Meadowsweet with high hopes. I had seen reviews and heard first hand how amazing every aspect of the restaurant is. While I had a wonderful experience, I don't think it fully lived up the my expectations. I walked in from the rain on a relatively quiet Wednesday evening. My partner was running a little late, but I was immediately welcomed and ushered to sit and wait at the bar. Moments later, she arrived, and we were taken to our table. Our server guided us through the very interesting wine list, and helped us settle on a Furmint from Hungary. It was an awesome wine that wound up pairing perfectly with our meal. We ordered a couple of starters, and the rolls were served. Seriously, those rolls were amazing. Perfect density, nice and warm, one of the best rolls I've had in a while. Our starters came; the crispy baby artichokes, and the smoked trout crepe. Both were topped with some greenery and a similar dressing (there were definitely lots of anchovies). The smoked trout crepe was everything I dreamed and more. Smoky, trout-y, light and flavorful. I soaked up all the sauce with my roll. The crispy baby artichokes were also delicious. Both were small portions, probably a grand total of 6 bites for each. For our mains, I ordered the olive oil poached swordfish and my friend ordered the plancha marina. The swordfish was kind of a disappointment. It was bland. There was no salt or seasoning to speak of. The broccoli rabe accompanying it lacked seasoning as well. The orange segments didn't really blend with the dish so well. It felt like they were added to give it some acidity. My friend said she really enjoyed the plancha marina. For dessert, we split the apple tart. More so than apple, it was really a butter tart. The apples tasted as though they had been soaking in butter for days on end. It really overpowered them. The thyme cream garnish barely tasted of thyme and added nothing to the dish. The pace of dining was leisurely in the best way possible. Our total meal lasted two and a half hours. We were never rushed. Our server was around whenever we needed her. She was friendly and helpful. Admittedly, she suggested against the swordfish, saying that I might enjoy the cod more; but I ignored her advice and got swordfish anyways. It was not a cheap dinner. The total bill, tax and tip ran us about $180. I enjoyed myself, and will probably go back again when they change up the menu next.

What a great addition to South Williamsburg. The area of Broadway has become quite a great hang out spot, and Meadosweet delivers. Had a reservation and was promptly seated. The food is spectacular all around, and the decor/ambiance is simple but sophisticated. Great date spot.

Quite throughly disappointed with the experience I had in this restaurant. Went here for my high school graduation dinner and wasn't quite satisfied with the experience. We (family of 5) all ordered the tasting menu and received various dishes which was nice. We were first served a slice of crispy baguette topped with chunks of tuna slathered in olive oil. It was a mouthful of salty mush and crisp. Then we were all given a thyme infused bun that was honestly the saltiest piece of bun I ever tasted. The texture was nice and chewy, but the salty taste was too overpowering. The different salads we tasted were covered with too much dressing and was once again just salty. The grilled asparagus was probably the best plate that was served in that round. It had a creamy sauce to go well with the asparagus and a nice sunny side up as well. Pastas were pretty decent. The pasta with the truffle sauce was best as it wasn't too salty and had a nice strong truffle flavor. The other two pasta dishes that we had were on the salty side and the flavors weren't too smooth. However, I was very impressed with the texture of the noodles. They were cooked perfectly, not too hard and not too soft. The seafoods we had were quite satisfactory. There were only two versions that we were served. One was a medley of squid, scallop, shrimp that was on the salty side probably because of the natural saltiness of seafood. However, the black bass was very good with the buttery sauce and mushrooms. The meat dishes were a huge disappointment. The duck and the pork were both very salty and did not go well with the various vegetables that was served with them. The beef was very good but the pesto sauce surrounding it took away from the succulent taste of the meat. The desserts were pretty average other than the cream flan and jam. Never had a desert anything quite like it and would highly recommend it. So overall it was unsatisfactory despite the one star michelin it carries. I did appreciate the chefs effort though in trying to come up with unique combinations that blend the flavors nicely. I enjoyed the fresh ingredients that was used and the very good portions that left me comfortably food by the end of the meal. My family and I were a bit offended that even after we told the waitress about how salty we found the food, the food continued to be salty. I do not recommend for one to come here. Don't think it was worth 65, especially not after the 50 lunch experience I had at Jean Georges. Much worth spending ur money at some other michelin one star restaurant.

Three stars and change for the $65 tasting menu - but I'm happy to round up in this instance for Meadowsweet's service, ambiance, and cocktail collection. I also liked its versatility - the airy, well-lit, modern space would work as well for Proper Date Night as, in our case, a casual dinner for a group of 6. Our tastings were a less structured than other reviews (we had an Insider in our company) - we essentially got to sample everything on the menu, and then some. Everything was bright and fresh - including the decor, which featured a lofted herb garden from which I supposed the rosemary in my drink came, and lots of light-colored wood. Meadowsweet's menu is revolving (and runs the gamut: steak, duck, squid ink pasta, pasta with red sauce, vegetarian pasta) - but the best dishes to my mind featured fish (halibut, squid, and scallops).

KenScale: 8.0/10 Meadowsweet is a new restaurant in South Williamsburg from chef Polo Dobkin. In the same restaurant space, chef Dobkin had been winning accolades in the form of Dressler. In 2012, he left the restaurant, only to return two years later to open his own restaurant in the same space. I had not been to Dressler before it closed and Meadowsweet came, but I was intrigued to try chef Dobkin's new American cuisine with Mediterranean bent. Overall, my recent dinner was very solid, showcasing fresh vegetables and seafood. All the dishes at Meadowsweet displayed freshness of ingredients that was pleasing to my mouth. Crispy baby artichokes with baby arugula, shaved parmesan and creamy garlic dressing was one of the better vegetables I've had recently, and the ravioli-shaped hand rolled ricotta "cuscino" with butternut squash and parmesan broth and sage had that delicious flavor and texture of cheese fully immersed. Plancha marina, an assortment of seafoods that is quickly becoming the restaurant's signature dish, was somewhat of a mild disappointment given my expectations after hearing so many times about this dish, but all the seafood from shrimp to scallop were fresh with nice juicy texture. I guess I was just expecting something a little more extra than well cooked seafood dishes. On the other hand, I really liked the crisply cooked wild striped bass that worked very well with romesco, roasted tomato and olives. For dessert, roasted pumpkin ice cream pie with marshmallow, Angostura and pepitas was an absolutely pleasure to end the meal with. Getting a reservation at the restaurant wasn't too challenging, but the place became almost packed by the time I was finishing up with my meal. I liked the charming neighborhood vibe of Williamsburg at the dining room. The restaurant has a full bar, but I would suggest going with a glass of white wine that would go well with various seafood dishes. Meadowsweet is a welcome addition to the South Williamsburg dining scene. While there is no way to compare the place to what used to be Dressler, I think the kitchen rolls out a bunch of dishes with fresh, seasonal ingredients that will make for a pleasant dinner.

I forgot to review Meadowsweet 8 months ago, but I can remember the phenomenal meal as if it were yesterday. Every single dish was unique and delicious and I cannot believe I have not been back. It is obvious that the presentation and all the different sauces were carefully thought out. You will not find oysters any fresher than at Meadowsweet. Our party had a glass of bubbly with our sweet and briny bivalves. Every restaurant has a beet salad on their menu, but Meadowsweet's is brilliant! Do not pass up the scallops, even if you do not like scallops. The heritage pork tagliatelle was our non seafood entree and it did not disappoint. The noodles were perfectly al-dente. Sea bass is my favorite cooked fish so naturally our party ordered it and it was magical. End stream of thought. Hopping into a cab to Meadowsweet.

Best dinner I've had so far in NY, everything was perfect, the food, the setting and the service. I had the scallops and the tajarin, both amazing dishes. Service was great, the staff knew exactly what they were doing and were. Good wine list and great setting, but the portions were somewhat small.

Looked nice & had outdoor seating. But totally overpriced. Had a few bites of the seafood entree & felt sick afterwards. Very tiny portions. 2 shrimps, 2 scallops, 1 fish medallion. Also took a long time to take my order, though it was half empty. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Maybe it's priced comparative to Peter Luger's across the street. At least there, you leave feeling full & it's a landmark restaurant. Used to be the only thing there for years. This was $45 for 4 bites of food.

Great food and service. The oysters were good, lamb was delicious but a little small. Expected twice as much for the price. Would give 5 stars but the metal bar stools and wooden chairs don't have cushions... This isn't the Middle Ages. It wasn't even packed so there is no reason to rush people out the door Poor or comfortable seating is the hidden reason a restaurant fails/succeeds. I would change my rating to 5 if cushions r added I also wouldn't return to dine again unless cushions are added.

3.25 stars Bottled water was $8 ugh. The pre fixe menu was $65 but you can order a la carte. The progression started off strong and kind of simmered through the main courses and ended with some awful desserts. Substitute the desserts for something else if you can. The desserts were definitely the weakest link here and I'm not sure if it's just because the seasonal ingredients aren't great or if they're trying to be too creative here. I would have loved a regular pumpkin pie instead of the pumpkin ice cream pie with marshmallow on top that didn't add much in taste. Overall the food was generally good but not one dish was outstanding. This is not a place I would go out of my way to visit again. Pre-fixe menu: Duck liver mousse with sesame cracker amuse bouche: delightful Fluke crudo (four little slender slices): light and refreshing Crispy baby artichokes: very good Cavatelli with sausage: good but comes in a very small portion Pappardelle with short rib: also very good but comes in a very small portion Plancha marina with grilled head on shrimp and scallop: good but all the seafood was generally a little overcooked; took me just 6 bites to finish the small plate White fish cod (?): I forget what type of white flaky fish this was, but it was definitely a bit overcooked Granita and sorbet palette cleanser: decent Duck with pear: again this dish was fairly good Short rib with chanterelle mushrooms and spinach: very good but the spinach was a little salty Pear and ice cream: not good Pumpkin ice cream pie with toasted pumpkin seeds and marshmallow: decent but wouldn't order this a la carte; the pumpkin ice cream was a bit too icy and the crust was just too hard

I went 2 times. First for brunch, I order the burger medium rare and I received it medium well! The burger was good anyway and I had no time to order it again! Prices were ok for brunch. Second time for diner. When I saw the prices I thought I was upper east side. I ordered the hanger steak rare ($30 on the menu) I received 3 very thin slices of medium well steak on a grassy pesto with 3 small potatoes! The 2 stars are because the server was kind and the plate decoration is good.

Oh lord the bread!! It's that bread which one may have always hoped be lucky enough to find someday; the little buns are like pods of mad freshness which even steam as you open them up. With thyme honey butter, life don't get no better. Main meal of steak and veggies was perfection, and chocolate dessert was as light as a cloud, surprising since it looked so dense. Perfect for romantic special dinner.

i have to say as being from f&b i did not expect the service to be coordinated which was done very well. food was overwhelmingly good and service was attentive without being disruptive. The best restaurant ive been to in awhile. mgmt and staff were well trained.

Though I was disheartened to see Dressler go, Meadowsweet has been a welcome addition to the neighborhood. There will often be a wait to get in w/o a reso and there isn't really room at the bar to sit, but the friendly staff will come find you next door. It's a win-win. Once you have devoured their Parker house rolls drenched in salty, buttery goodness, you must must must get the crispy artichoke salad and not share it. You will be thankful you took my advice once the tangy, peppery, lemon-kissed bite hits your lips. The oxtail cavatelli and the octopus were also notable small plates. The steak was a nicely composed dish and had some complexity, which was a nice surprise for a bunch of overrated ingredients that sounded on the verge of boring. One draw back to the experience is the back room is a bit stark and would benefit greatly from taking it down a notch, but certainly doesn't make me want to run the other way. It's the food that keeps me coming back here.

One of my favorite restaurants in NYC hands down. Bring everyone here. But most importantly yourself. No -- share the wealth. I've decided. Bring anyone that can stand your company. Perfect food, perfect ambiance, adorable serving ware handled by an equally adorable staff. Can't say enough positive things about Meadowsweet.... Yep! I'm in love!! You will be too!!

Came here for dinner last week, ALL the food we had starting from appetitezers to dinner to dessert was amazing! I had the Hangar Steak and my friend had the Scallops. Some of the best scallops i've ever had. Wine list was also very impressive. Service was spot on very helpful with recommendations on menu. Def coming back this time to try the brunch!!

This place is beyond awesome. I walked in there and I was really surprised to find such a well designed restaurant. It awakens your senses before you're even seated. I swear the dinner roll was like a donut or something. I actually feel like calling it a dinner roll is insulting. It was a petit ball of bready goodness with the most divine whipped honey and herb butter. The food was fantastic as expected, but I cannot say the same for the drinks. I expected a bit better for the price. I want excellence darn-it! Kidding...but seriously, they weren't anything to talk about. Perfect the drinks and I will change my review to 5 stars.

Came here last week with my friends for dinner. Service: The service was incredible, from the amazing hostess/owner who made a point to come chat with us, to the HOT HOT wait staff. I'm not sure if its all male models that work here or what, but the waiters were gorgeous and knew their stuff. Great recommendations on the food and wine. Water was always filled, wine glass never got low, food came out very quickly. Food: Tasty = Awesome = Love loved loved the food. We had the: Rabbit Cavatelli: By far my favorite thing on the menu. So tasty Ricotta raviolo: Very cheese heavy, kinda fell apart, but tasted good Spanish Octopus: tasted very fresh, would have liked a bigger portion Peektoe crab cakes: Yummy! St.Louis Ribs: OH baby, these just seemed to melt in your mouth!! yum yum I would def recommend this place for dinner, a date, or with a group of friends.

LOVED Meadowsweet! The setting is beautiful and cozy and the food is delicious! My parents and I went for dinner last night and tried virtually everything on the menu. We ordered a bunch of items and shared them all. My favorite dishes were the hand rolled ricotta 'cuscino', house made cavatelli, roasted beets and the ribs (FALL off the BONE ribs). The flavors were delicious. I loved everything! Our waitress (Tabatha) was awesome! She was super friendly, knowledgeable and gracefully answered every food and drink question I asked which had to be at least 21 for each dish and cocktail we ordered. :) Last but not least, the chef's wife and part owner (Stephanie) swung by our table to ask how we were enjoying our evening and we ended up chatting and sharing jokes as if we had all known each other for years! I absolutely loved her energy and her intent to make sure we felt right at home in the restaurant. My boyfriend and I always gravitate toward restaurants and bars that have friendly staff and Stephanie was nothing short of awesome, fun and energetic! I just Loved her! Just as we were wrapping up our delicious meal she swung by with complimentary desert wine for the table (Which was so thoughtful and unexpected). Now that we are moving from Brooklyn to California we won't be able to visit the restaurant as much as we'd like to but it will definitely be on my "must visit" list when I return to the hood. Thank you Meadowsweet for such a wonderful evening last night!!

One of the best restaurants I have been to, ever. Super cozy feeling inside, waiter was very nice and knowledgable. The food was outstanding. The bread. Oh the bread. Served with honey thyme butter..Baby artichoke app- amazing. Ribs fell off the bone + sauce was unlike anything I've ever had. Flourless chocolate cake was outrageous. Very excited to go back to try the tasting menu

Finally stopped by for dinner. Been wanting to try since Dressler closed. And honestly was pretty hesitant since I've often said Dressler, in my opinion, was easily one of the top 10 restaurants in the city...fear of disappointment. Well I'm proud to report that this was absolutely astounding food. Actually equal to, if not better, than Dressler. House made rolls w honey thyme butter...unreal. Crispy baby artichoke salad reminiscent of Dressler's signature artichoke heart salad...also incredible. Ribs fell off the bone w a perfectly smoky and flavor-loaded BBQ sauce. Stuck to mainly appetizers, as those really seemed to shine on the menu. Go. Now. This is relatively undiscovered...for now.

Had a really amazing dinner last night there with two girlfriends. I had the fools gold cocktail which was bourbon based and so good. We started off with the west coast oysters which were so good! Then the scallop dish which was outstanding and the hanger steak. We finished off with the pumpkin dessert which I've been dreaming about since. This place is glorious! Cannot wait to return!

After hearing that this restaurant had a one star Michelin, we rushed to this restaurant in hopes of a nice meal. After trying their tasting course meal here are some thoughts. In general, although the service was on point, all the meals seemed like there was too much salt. Price-wise, if you are looking for nice ambiance and a great bar it would be worth it, but if you are looking for something strictly tasty it is simply "consistently salty".

While I wanted to hate Meadowsweet because of their "we like to take reservations" policy despite a location in South Williamsburg, I realized...I can't. The space is classy, I almost felt under-dressed for the spot. The hostesses and wait staff all look like models, and are very attentive and kind. I loved the grilled octopus appetizer; it was so tender and had the right amount of tomato sauce without overpowering the dish, and the hake with chorizo was really amazing. I was very impressed and will definitely be back.

This is one of the best restaurant experience I've ever had. We had the tasting menu and it was awesome, every dish was a little miracle. The service was also friendly and smooth. The only one minor flaw was that one or two of the dishes was sent out a bit too fast after the other, but otherwise it was perfect.

I've been broke. Really broke. And so has my boyfriend. I've gotten used to eating spaghetti for days and relishing leftovers from either of our parents homes. Just in time for our anniversary, my friend's brother called me with a babysitting emergency, and the pay was outstanding. I made a reservation at Meadowsweet as soon as the call was over. I made a good choice. Everything was delicious. To start, we went with two glasses of chardonnay, the day boat scallops (with chanterelles, roasted cauliflower, sunchokes and bacon), the crispy fried artichoke (topped with arugula in a creamy garlic dressing) and the roasted beets. All three were fantastic, with the scallops being a clear favorite for me. For our entrees, we chose the roasted chicken and the striped bass with broccoli rabe, roasted tomatoes and olives. The roasted chicken was perfect - ordering chicken from the right restaurant will make you remember why people like the bird. It's up there with Lot 2's chicken. The striped bass was perfectly done, but I found myself wishing I'd ordered the steak. I cook roasted tomatoes and broccoli rabe all the time - so this wasn't as exciting to me. Still - a great dish. Dessert was definitely a highlight - the sweet corn tres leches. I love a dessert that utilizes vegetables, and this was a great example. Paired with blueberry sorbet, it was rich and summery all at once. A wistful goodbye to my favorite season. As wistful as my goodbye to the incredibly helpful staff. Props to Jeremy for selecting the perfect wine/beer for our meal. Highly recommend. If you gots $$$$$.

The fact that the oysters are 4 dollars each really sets the tone for this restaurant. I go out to eat almost every night and rarely feel compelled to write a bad review of a restaurant, but this place really tries to be something it's not with their pricing. Not worth it.

My friends and I came here for brunch last weekend and I was impressed. I kept thinking about Dressler before I arrived but once we were seated the thoughts of the once before spot just disappeared from my mind. The brunch menu, fairly small with just the right amount of choices, I chose to have the Huevos Rancheros. We shared the doughnuts before our mains came out. Those little bites with the apple sauce dipping was delicious!! I didn't want to finish them and not be able to have my Huevos! I was pleasantly surprised by how big my portion of Huevos rancheros was!! I felt like I could barley finish it. It's not your average brunch menu item that's for sure. The service was nice too! complimentary coffee refills is good enough for me! The space is really beautiful and charming with solid oak finishings and a full bar with a little loft by the window full of fresh herbs and plants. Can't wait to try dinner here soon!

I went for dinner 1/9 while housesitting in Brooklyn. I enjoyed the dinner, but it is not a place I am particularly eager to try again. To start we shared the octopus, which was delicious, and the serving size was very generous. I ordered the pork tagliatelle for my second course, which also a large serving considering it was an appetizer, but it was seriously salty. I love salt, so I am really surprised that I could ever give this criticism. I wanted to love it, because I could tell it would have been amazing had there been a tbs less salt added. My boyfriend got the special sea bass and "liked it a lot." We both got cocktails to start the night. The Let it Linger was not as good as I expected, but far from unpleasant.

Came here on a Thursday night and we were able to get seated right away without a reservation. This spot has a great vibe and awesome servers/bartenders. The decor, design and colors in here are exactly the way I would want my home / kitchen / living room to feel. Modern, bright, natural, but comfortable as well. I went with my fiancé and we weren't starving but wanted a great meal. We split the Day Boat Scallops appetizer and the Grilled Hangar Steak. We started the meal with a Dirty Martini and a Brooklyn Blast IPA. The martini came out in a great vintage-y glass. A bit smaller than your typical martini but it packed a punch that made up for it. Our server asked specifically how many olives my fiance would like, he said two. When the drink came out it only had one. No big deal at all, but if you are going to make a point to ask, make a point to drop the correct number in! Before anything we ordered came out, a lovely woman brought out their house-baked olive oil bread and honey-thyme butter. Ohmygosh - I could have cancelled the order and asked for a whole pan of this bread and vat of butter. The bread rolls came out perfectly warmed - inside was fluffy, airy and delicious, and the outside was ever so slightly crispier, but not flaky. As if amazing bread wouldn't be enough, the butter is the perfect spreadable temperature, flavor is on point, and you get the slightly sweet taste of honey with the slightly earthy taste of the thyme. Absolute perfection. Then our day boat scallops came out. Two large scallops atop a bed of wild foraged mushrooms and some type of delicious puree or aioli that is escaping me now. The appetizer was so rich (and amazing!) that one scallop with the mushroom and puree each was plenty. As great as this was I really don't know if I could have eaten two or three with an entree coming. We ordered the Grilled Hangar Steak medium rare and it was being served with Jersalum Artichokes (sunchokes), cauliflower puree, and sautéed spinach with a green peppercorn sauce. There was a great portion of meat however I could have definitely had more cauliflower puree. Although it was probably their intention, the puree was more of a 'smear' at the bottom of the plate, not an actual serving. It was so delicious and I am such a sucker for carb and carb-like sides that I could have enjoyed probably triple portions of the cauliflower. The sautéed spinach was great as well. Overall, a great experience. We weren't at all rushed and enjoyed our experience there thoroughly. We are moving to North Williamsburg but this is a spot we would especially make a trip for down to the old 'hood. I really want to try the Crispy baby artichoke appetizer and the Plancha Marina. We will be back! This seems like it would also be a great place for group dinners/celebrations (not a ton of people, but definitely could accommodate 8-12).

This place is such a hit! Brought my girlfriend here for an aniversary dinner and we both loved it! The service is very welcoming and attentive as they customized their menu for my lactose intolerant date. The menu is superb and each dish has delectable ingredient mixtures. The octopus appetizer was amazing and so were our cod and steak entrees. I would very strongly recommend the honey pie with goat ice cream. Each dish makes apparent the hight level of expertise of the chefs! The best cocktail was the tequila with habanero and cilantro- perfect mix of spice and refreshing!

Summary: weird appetizer after taste, good entrees, standard cocktails, poor service. Arrived four minutes before 6pm on a Sunday. Were told they weren't seating yet, but we could wait at the bar. The bartender was up cutting herbs so didn't see us, which was an honest mistake - but kind of weird that the hostess didn't notify him that he had customers. Of course as soon as he came down, we were moved to our table -- before we had a chance to order cocktails. More tables started arriving, but even at the peak rush during our entire time there, there were only 6-7 tables with a wait staff of 4-5 ppl. Once we were at the table, we had to wait to order cocktails, even though we'd been ready to order for a bit at that point. Ceviche - great flavor at first, but followed up with a pretty awful after taste. I asked my fiancé and he agreed it was gross. We also ordered the plancha marina and the steak which were both great, no complaints. My fiancé finished his cocktail right after the entrées arrived, which was unfortunate because we never saw the waitress again. I finished my cocktail a few minutes later and both of us were ready to order more, but we weren't even able to flag her down, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. We eventually finished our entrees but no one came around to check on us. The bus boy ran our empty plates, and we asked him for the check, but we still had to wait a while for the server. We had planned to order more drinks and dessert, but at that point we decided to just move on and get them elsewhere.

This first (and impromptu) visit was charmed. The waitstaff was lovely, and the food was absolutely on point. The wine list is interesting; a lone Albarino was very nice. Clearly, the kitchen has a deft hand with their impeccably fresh fish. The scallop app may best I've had, and I'm a bit of a dayboat scallop whore. The octopus was tender/not mushy, with crispy bits that added flavor and texture to great result. It was served over Israeli Couscous, rather than the listed prep. Come to think of it, the scallops differed from the description too. No matter, both were spot-effing-on! The Plancha Marina was glorious, with perfect shrimp, sweet-fat-little seppia and a subbed in piece of hake that made me rethink the possibilities of flat white fish. Order this dish. It will be difficult not to reorder these three winners, but I'll make every 'effort' to eat my way through Dobkin's current repertoire. Post-haste.

Unfortunately , I have come to the point where I need to review my first note. After having been somewhat glad with our first experience at brunch time, we were not happy at all the second time for dinner. And we brought guests who were trying this place for the 1st time. It was expensive for what we had as portions are limited and not that large. The quality is certainly present but the cooking has to be improved. All of our meat didn't have proper temperature , based on what we asked. And the steak temperature for the 2nd time was overcooked. We had a final bitter taste with the check. We'll pass for a while.

I'd been a fan of Dressler since its inception. I still remember my first meal there. I had a braised short rib that became a standard for me, by which all short rub dishes were to be judged. I knew that at Dressler, I could indulge in a meal of fresh, tasty components; cooked and executed to perfection. Meadowsweet continues that legacy and does not disappoint. My wife and I were tantalized by the appeal of all the appetizers. So we ordered them all. I love my wife :) The wait staff did a splendid job of organizing our dishes in an order from lightest to heaviest fare, and we were treated a to a bevy of delicious treat after treat. By all means, DO get the poached egg dish. Whenever my wife and I see an opportunity to get a good runny yolk egg dish, we go for it. There are few greater culinary experiences that are as elegantly delicious as sopping up a wonderfully cooked egg and mixing it with whatever tasty morsel you can find. The cavatelli with braised rabbit was another highlight for me. The pillowy, toothsome pasta puffs provided an experience in texture. It was hard to resist the temptation of skewering more than three or four at the same time with your fork. I'd finished off my meal with the bourbon infused ribs. The bourbon concept has become quite popular as of late, so I've sampled many of these ribs elsewhere. Meadowsweet's version has been my favorite so far for the simple fact that I could actually taste the bourbon. Recognizing ingredients and seeing how they synergize with your taste buds is what makes eating so much fun. I could feel neurons firing off in my brain as the sensations of sweet and tangy tangoed with the bourbony vanilla vapors sensed by my tongue. My only complaint was that we had some overgrown, middle aged frat boy behind us who was louder than a banshee having sex with a chimpazee on a megaphone. It was obvious that he had quite a few drinks in him. I had only wished management had tried to settle him down through chemical sedation and/or some kind of clandestine asphyxiation technique while quietly disposing of his body. Ok, murder might be too harsh. Maybe. I'd be satisfied with castration. Short version: Meadowsweet reminded me of a Mediterranean inspired, more refined version of Traif. Loud, obnoxious frat boys deserve death and/or castration. Bravo, Mr Dobkin. A worthy successor to Dressler.

Great spot. For the price of its tasting menu it is almost a 5-star restaurant. So we had the tasting menu with wine pairing, that I highly recommand. The accompanying bread was delicious, and they accommodated the dietary restrictions of the table. Overall quality and quantity were there, and with all that wine (one glass per dish incl. dessert !) we had plenty of alcohol, ready to crash onto the backseat of a cab at the broadway/bedford corner.

Chef Polo's dishes are eponymous to the restaurant's namesake, Meadowsweet. Homeopathically, Meadowsweet is a cooling flower that promotes circulation and each of Chef Polo's creations do exactly the same thing -- gently but confidently curing life's daily headaches. Yes, good food can be that powerful. My family and I very much enjoy our frequent visits to this gem.

This place deserves its emerging great reputation. Beautiful wood, artwork and candles, has a bit of a Scandinavian feel. Sat at the bar on a Saturday night by myself. According to my receipt Nicholas M. was the bartender. (He probably introduced himself but I forget). Man was he great. So so so so friendly and sociable. Excellent service way above and beyond the norm. Food and cocktails were really delicious, but just too expensive for the portion sizes. Very very crowded and loud, but it was Saturday night.

Went on a Saturday night around 7:30pm and there was ample seating. The service was very good and the meal was even better. For drinks, we had the pisco sour and friend of the devil, both excellent and highly recommended. Apps, we had the octopus and coscino. The octopus was tasty and had good texture but lacking enough char. The coscino was also very tasty but a bit rich. Entrees, the cod was excellent and my hanger steak was well seasoned and the side components worked well. Overall we had a great meal and will definitely return. We were too full to have dessert but the selection was interesting for example, cheesecake brulee.

Got the tasting menu here with a couple friends. Great service, and almost every dish was fantastic. Standouts: the duck (so smooth!), the squid ink tagliatelli, and the apple tarte tatin. Quibbles: the cavatelli was a bit too salty for me (I'm special), and the halibut in butter tasted mostly of the latter. But amid a barrage of otherwise great dishes, I can't complain. Good services & vibe too. Hope to be back!

  • IM C.

Pretty solid food though some distance away from a Michelin star. The food is generally delicious. Their bread is really amazing. Addictive. The smoked trout crepe is a must-have. The cod was surprisingly flavorful. Other dishes were a bit less precise: The octopus, for instance, is supposed to be hearty rather than greasy. I feel that some ingredients that can break the greasiness is missing. Cuscino is on the cheesy side...again, perhaps some plus or minus can reduce the heaviness. Dessert was good, but nothing special. The biggest issue is that they bring out food way too fast. For instance, our starters (Cuscino and Octopus) were brought out before the trout crepe arrived - completely the wrong order! We were supposed to sit down, have the bread, then crepe, wait for a couple of minutes, then the starters. It just feels that they rush you, and you end up eating too much too fast and walking out feeling bloated only an hour and half after a full 4 course meal. It overall reminds me of Dressler. It's good but not amazing. There are so many nice restaurants in the neighborhood that I don't see it as a special place to return to.

  • Sonya N.

This restaurant is Williamsburg 2.0. It's lovely inside, and it's good that a nice place replaced Dressler, BUT - it's WAY too expensive. If you are a new condo dwelling Williamsburg resident paying 4/5K a month for rent, or someone from the USW/UES just visiting, then great - maybe the price and portion size will be ok with you. Long story short, too much $, not enough food. I will say that the food was good, even the crispy artichoke salad that they ripped off from Dressler. It was what I missed most when Dressler closed. I hope they have permission to make the exact same salad. Either way for 16$, it was really small. In fact that is my main problem. Too much $, not enough food. Sadly I don't think I will be going back as there is better food to be had for much less $. I'm not cheap, but I just don't think it was worth it.

Excellent food and service. The tall Maitre D is very astute and knows her business (she saw me looking sidelong at a better table and offered it without me having to say a word). The food is a complete knockout. We had the tasting menu on a Sunday-- blown away by its maturity, the quality of its ingredients, and the generosity. The Oysters tasted like they had been picked by the hand of God and put on our table.

I'm SO HAPPY this placed opened! They have wonderful food, great, friendly service and an awesome wine list! Their oysters were delicious. The ambiance is great - laid back, but elegant, plus they have their own herb garden. The food was super fresh and the prices are good for what you are getting. This is a great place for a special night out. I cannot wait to go back!

Went here for brunch on a Sunday. Food was fantastic, service was stellar. Great selection a brunch items. I've been here for dinner before it was even more amazing. They just earned a Michelin star and have only been open for like four months. This is a must try in Brooklyn.

Me and my girlfriends went here for a night out. The food was AMAZING!! Loved it!! Highly recommended!! Please have the servers make sure they know what they're talking about for future reference. They seemed a little confused.

Had a delicious three course dinner at Meadowsweet tonight sitting at the bar and being served by the bar tender Tien. I had poached eggs, scallops and a pork chop, all three delicious. The scallops were seared to perfection and the pork chop was served medium as it should and had a perfect structure and taste. The poached egg was served with delicious mushrooms and was also very tasty. The bar tender was very knowledgeable and crafted drinks that fit well with each dish. Highly recommended!

Had the oysters, scallops, artichokes, duck, and my wife had the pork. All were delicious and the service was spot on, especially for being very late in the evening. We finished with the flourless cake and rye and I was quite happy. Space is beautiful too and it doesn't hurt that shins, modest mouse, and other bands are softly playing in the background. Will go back many times for sure.

One of the best meals I've had in Brooklyn, or anywhere else for that matter. Food was fantastic as were the drinks.

Came here for a late night dinner on Friday at 10:00 p.m. we were seated immediately, but the restaurant was very full and very loud. The structure of the place is nice, one person sits on a connected bench and the other sits on a chair. We got cocktails and wine throughout the meal. All drinks were fantastic. The Amontillado sherry was really dry and nutty, just in case you liked otherwise. Oysters were $4 + which is at the border of my price range for oysters. We still got 1/2 dozen, but wouldnt say they were explosively different from the average $2.75 oyster. Everything else was good, flavors were unexpected, something was even spicy! But overall, it wasn't different, which is what I look for in a Michelin restaurant. I am giving it a 4 stars just because nothing was new, but all was good.

Trying to get two stubborn and picky eating guys to go out to a spot they haven't been to can be a challenge but Meadowsweet made it super easy. From the moment we arrived (which was pretty late, around 10pm) the staff quickly moved to get us seated, fixed our wobbly table and got us served. Our tasting buds were dancing. Everything from the appetizers to the dessert were amazing! Highly recommend and amazing service!

Amazing food, service, décor. We had a beautiful and delicious meal at this new gem full of character, charm and a hip vibe, and classy and refined at the same time. We ate the crab "cakes", octopus salad, cavatelli, sea bass, cheesecake and peach tart. Had a lovely bottle of $50 wine and impeccable service. I highly recommend for a special night out or a drink at the bar w/ some delicious starters.

Great place. Recommend the burger with egg with fries, and also the waffle. The doughnuts are good but not quite as good as Egg's doughnuts nearby. Friendly service. Very good Bloody Mary.

I kept hearing great things about Meadowsweet online so I decided to try it myself to see if it lived up to the hype. The decor is simple, airy and creates a calm ambience. It's a bit rustic/hipstery and fits in well with the other restaurants nearby, although it's a bit more upscale than Diner or Marlow and Sons. The service was great. The food was delicious. They give you bread with salted butter for the table. The butter is very tasty. I got the St. Louis Ribs as an appetizer and the Plancha Marina as my entree. I didn't get a drink, but my boyfriend enjoyed his drink quite a bit. The ribs were extremely tender and fell right off the bone. My entree was great as well. The amounts of each item in the dish were well balanced and everything was plated nicely. My only real complaint is that the food isn't innovative at all. Everything was very delicious, but the entrees were very classic and predictible in their ingredients. Lots of restaurants excel with this stratgey, but I guess I felt like the meal was a bit unremarkable even though everything was cooked well and tasted good.

OK, I know I am just piling on with the rave reviews, but the food here is astonishingly good. We started with roasted beets, with labneh, zatar, honey and sherry vinegar. A fantastic combination of really interesting flavors that complimented the sweet, strong taste of beets. We also had the crispy baby artichokes with arugula, parmesan and a creamy garlic dressing. Nom nom nom!!! I loved the flavors and the contrast of crispy and creamy. I had a risotto special...can't remember the details, but it was delish. Dessert was a standout as well, especially the flourless cake with caramel ice cream and hazelnut...OMG. The one false note was a honey something dessert that's not on the regular menu...it really did just taste like honey...which is a bit overwhelming. The space is beautiful, ambiance is great, and crowd is a nice blend of Williamsburg baby hipsters and actual grownups. Oh, and the bartender made me the most delicious, delectable, divine non alcoholic drink (I am doing a dry January) of ginger beer and blackberry syrup. I took off a star because the service was excruciatingly slow (both food and especially drink), and although I didn't really care, it bothered the more impatient New Yorkers at the table. Apparently, this night was an anomaly, however, according to people who have been before. Oh, and by the way, way cheaper than Manhattan and way better than most.

We went to this restaurant to celebrate my mother's birthday in its first open week, and it was a perfect, very festive choice. The appetizers were a real highlight, in particular, the octopus and baby artichokes. I had the steak as my entree; it was one of the simpler offerings, but done to absolute perfection. The restaurant itself is also beautiful -- impeccably designed, and very comfortable -- and the waitstaff was gracious and helpful, bearing with our (many) questions about the menu. I would definitely recommend Meadowsweet for an occasion, as it's a bit pricey for everyday eating. That said, their house cocktails are delicious and relatively reasonable; I could see it as a good spot to meet friends for a drink, too. Bravo! I wish the restaurant success.

I had an excellent first meal at Meadowsweet on Friday night. The front of house staff was extremely accommodating to my party, half of which was stuck in traffic and arrived an hour late. Everything we ate was excellent, and surprisingly reasonably priced (mains comfortably in the mid-20s to low-30s). This feels like a very modern New York restaurant. It serves good food without too much "messaging." You can safely assume that the ingredients are high quality, without being hit over the head with all the key words about their origin, etc. I'll definitely be back.

The cocktails were amazing and what was really outstanding was they grow their own herbs. I had the friend of the devil and they made a special lemon, cucumber, mint vodka cocktail for my wife. All the appetizers were outstanding especially the cavatelli. The cod and porgy were also fantastic - really amazing. Paolo the chef and owner cam out to say hello which was a really nice touch. Would be great to have a cheese selection with dinner. I would definitely come back and recommend it to all my foodie friends as the wine list was equally spectacular especially the vouvray.

I had a reservation here Tuesday, second week of August. The service was very good, ambience casual. We ordered the oysters (delicious), grilled octopus (pretty good), bourbon ribs (very large portion, too much sauce), and crab cakes.( wish these would have had less salted batter and not fried). We were told that it was not enough food, so we ordered two entrees- chicken and pork chops. We were pretty much full when the entrees arrived and annoyed we had been advised to order more. The chicken and pork chops overall had way way too much salt. No other flavor was detectable and we barely ate anything. Our saliva was sucked out of our mouths kind of salty.. We finished the meal off with the coconut pie which was amazing! Ended up paying about $300 with tip, took the leftovers home and they are still sitting in the refrigerator a week later. Overall- would totally go back for drinks and oysters- wouldn't make a meal out of it. Traif is better.

I went there for Sunday brunch. I started with the fresh tamales with salsa verde. Warm and soft, a true comfort food. Ratatouille and poached eggs. It's quite filling with the eggs and the goat cheese. Using the crostini to pick up the sauce, my bowl was definitely clean from any trace of food. They didn't have a dessert menu during brunch, but the pastry chef was there and I was offered 3 options (devil's food cake with cream cheese frosting with ice cream, milk chocolate semifreddo with ice cream, or peanut butter and jam rice pudding). I chose the Peanut butter and jam rice pudding. It comes with a delicious berry sorbet. I was sitting at the bar and it was a cool day. I could have kept my coat on because I felt the cold whenever someone opened the door, but I had a great meal.

Meadowsweet is a great place to have a high quality but still casual dinner. Based on what I tried at my meal there, I felt that the entrees were 4-star level, while the first courses were 3-star and the desserts were 5-star. Things I ate: smoked trout crepe (mediocre) and black truffle pasta (decent). Plancha marina (amazing), and hanger steak (very good). Desserts were the apple tarte tatin and maple panna cotta, which were both wonderful and my favorite part of the meal, which is saying a lot since I'm not too big on sweets usually. The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing, the service was friendly and did a fine job. Right now I'd say this is one of Williamsburg's best spots for a nice dinner.

I really enjoyed Meadowsweet. I came in Sunday around 11:30 and was the only one there. I waited at the bar until my friends arrived and enjoyed the brunch punch. The punch wasn't my favorite, but that's because I am not the biggest fan of grapefruit juice. The bartender was really attentive and VERY accommodating. This was the theme of the service overall. Once my party arrived we were seated and attended to very quickly. I ordered the huevos rancheros with a side of bacon. AMAZING. I wasn't expecting how fresh tasting everything was. The eggs came drizzled with this really yummy green sauce and a flour tortilla. The black beans where really well seasoned and flavorful. The side of bacon was amazing. It tasted like it was grilled on a grill. Overall, I was really satisfied with the brunch and can see myself making the trek to Williamsburg for it.

Mind BLOWN. A client was talking about this place and as a restaurant junkie, I had to go. I am always a bit hesitant when it comes to new places, but this place was firing on all cylinders. The food and service is superb. The space is gorgeous and feels very fresh. I cannot wait to go back.

A friend and I came for dinner on their third night of service. We were completely impressed and had a wonderful evening. The renovations to the room are fantastic. It feels like there is so much more light but not overwhelmingly so. You can see your food and your dining partner, yet good ambiance is still there. There were a few service hiccups regarding our reservation, but they were very apologetic and smoothed things out appropriately. I was not expecting the kitchen to be as strong as it was on the third night. We had no complaints and everything was stellar. We shared three snacks/starters, each had our own main course, and shared two desserts. Plus the house bread (which was amazing). I thought that was the right amount for two hungry people and allowed us to try a number of things from the different categories. Our server seemed a bit tentative in knowledge, but she was very friendly and didn't rush us at all. Food timing was spot on. As for what we ate, the peekytoe crab cakes were a stand out for me. I loved the perfectly crisped skin on my salmon. And the coconut ice cream pie was just what the warm weather called for. I really wish this restaurant well!

One of the most amazing meals I've had in a really long time. The atmosphere is great, staff is friendly and very helpful, and the food is super fresh, locally sourced, and beautifully crafted. We tried and recommend the octopus, scallop ceviche, grilled artichokes, cod, branzino, pork chop, and make sure you leave room for dessert! The coconut cream pie was to die for (and I'm not even a coconut fan!), the pana cotta had an interesting signature twist, and the plum galette with cinnamon ice cream was flavored to perfection. They change their menu all the time to keep it fresh and with the seasons, so definitely a place to frequent with friends, dates, and family.

A great culinary experience. We went for an assortment of the first courses since they seemed really interesting. The Oysters were fresh and tasty. We then tried the scallops which were delicate and exquisite. The octopus was also tender and grilled to perfection. We then decided to continue with a dish that included pasta and rabbit ( do not remember its name) and which exported all kinds of moans from the table. We finished our dinner with a tart tartan that had a side of what I thinkz is a varbena ice-cream. Amazing. This was a real treat. I highly recommend.

Welcome back Polo!!! Renovations are beautiful. Great food, meticulous prep & presentation. The homemade bread sets the tone for the meal to come. Apps are wonderful, You must try the smoked trout & ribs. Servers are very knowledgable and happy to assist and recommend both dishes and wines. Speaking of which, Stephanie has brought her experience & expertise to the wine selections. The restaurant deserves 10 stars, but ratings limited me to 5. Good luck.
