This place is awesome. Sitting on the patio enjoying good music and drinking cold beer. Good range of options in the menu. Had a grilled cheese with onions, jalapeños, mushrooms and bacon. Wonderful. Brother in law also had the cubano. It's huge. Tasted it and it was also wonderful. Wish I hadn't walked past here last time. Definitely coming back.

Great location (heart of midtown), friendly service, food is awesome. Ordered the nachos with ground beef and topped with the 'silly chili' as recommended by the waiter.....it was GREAT! Cubano sandwich was the best, also had good BBQ Chicken and bacon hogie, and a good lamb Gyro. Great prices for draft beers, and kids loved the pink lemonade. Definately worth going back to.

A great and very friendly staff. Fresh chicken nacho's and abundent jalapenos if requested. Cold beer and if you're nice they might even let you run the remote. I would return here on my next exploration of this little mtn town.

One of our favorite places in Southern New Mexico. Certainly the most truly pub like place (and MrB having lived in England for several years knows a bit about pubs). The Cubano sandwich alone is worth the drive from Las Cruces! The other items we have had have also been consistently good. Decent selection of somewhat local brews on tap (as you would expect in any pub). Pleasant staff, very nice atmosphere outside and very dog friendly with water available. MrB would stop every time we pass by if possible. 6/12 - two visits this past weekend and though its been many many months since we were last there we felt welcomed like old friends. This place is popular with locals and visitors to town. Cubano still good - the pulled pork they do for it is amazing. The hot apple thing for dessert is enough different from the usual options to be worth a few extra calories. As usual the service was excellent the other customers very friendly as well.

I went there not expecting much after working and eating in town for two weeks. This place was great! The food is great. The atmosphere is exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of good beer on tap and in bottles at 1/2 the price of any other beers in town. I had a great time talking with the wait staff. The owners are there working hard every night. They have spent the time to make this cafe a place you feel at home. Sitting at the small bar top sipping a beer and eating a great meal is where I'll be when I'm in town.

I've been wanting to stop in here for a while because the outside patio looks so fun and cute. We finally stopped in one Saturday for lunch. There was only one other table...which seemed odd. We sat on a couch, which was fun. We ordered a beer and a sangria, both delicious. My husband got a gyro and I got green chili soup. I've been living in NM for almost 2 years and I steer clear of all things green chili...it's on everything here! But I wanted to try the soup and I loved it! It was seriously some of the best soup I've ever had and definitely better than your average potato/tomato/onion soups. The staff was very friendly! We had our baby with us and everyone wanted to stop by and say hello to her (which a new mother LOVES in case you didn't know). The inside is funky. And clean.

This makes for the best first stop in Ruidoso. Free WiFi, coffee and tea, good food and cigars. The entire courtyard receives a great wireless signal, and the menu they'll bring you lists imported beers (Guinness, New Castle, Spaten) and bistro-style foods. The price for the crispers my brother and I ordered was just over $6. They were incredible. The cigar shop is worth a visit for smokers, featuring hand-rolled cigars from the Dominican Republic. The tobacco, however, comes from Suban seeds. They're a perfect addition to a coffee or yerba mate. The one warning is to watch for falling pine cones from the towering pine in the courtyard. It isn't so hot on having so many humans around with their fancy portable devices. The fact that they stay open until 11pm and have live music push this place into its fifth star... and well deserved!

Dreamcatcher Cafe has to be favorite spot in Ruidoso, the staff has always been very friendly and courteous. They have a really good selection of micro-brew beers and an incredibly relaxed and peaceful atmosphere. If you want a really chill spot to sit down and have a couple beers this is where you should be.

We came in here for a beer in the afternoon so the review is based off of the beer and we did not try the food, but the food we did see looked really good. The beer prices are great for what you get. 3$ pints of micros with around ten varying ones on tap. They also have a good selection of bottles as well as the standard not so good light beers. Service was fast and the owners were talkative. Nice outside patio area and a smaller inside bar area. Free wifi. They close at 11 and are not open on Monday and Tuesdays. By far the best beer selection that I have seen in ruidoso and we will be back.

Mmmmmm that cubano sandwich! My boyfriend at the time finished mine even though he was stuffed after eating his own meal, cause it was that good. Also great outdoor space, and beer selection.

Okay let me just start by saying that I am a Texan. This means I am from a family that is down to earth and well mannered. I was quite surprised by the service. Not because it was bad but because it was AMAZING. I have been to many other restaurants where the people have been rude and disrespectful. The Dreamcatcher Café was quite the opposite. It had a down home feeling complete with benches with many pillows for you to sit on. Our waitress, "Lil Purple" as they called her, was very polite and attentive. Never was I without my cup filled. I ordered the Gyro. Which is by my understanding a Greek Taco. I wasn't sure about the sauce that came on it so she went on to bring me a sample of the sauce which instantly put her on my good list. I also ordered the southwest creamy potato soup which was also delicious. Needless to say the food was perfect. Whenever you walk outside there is a cute little patio with heaters and even a little wood fire going that you can sit around with your friends and family which once again put a smile on my face because well I am from Texas. If you are in town you definitely need to stop in and grab a bite to eat there. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Great place to have a meal and a cold beer. Recommend going Friday between 5-7pm to take advantage of happy hour $2 beer, half price appetizers, and I think it was $4 house wine. The bruschetta was so freaking unbelievable. I think it was my favorite. Also ordered the nachos, store bought but the nacho cheese and avocado were good. The salsa was ok. I ordered the Cubano sandwich it was really good, not my taste of an authentic Cubano but it was really good nonetheless. Wife ordered French dip sandwich and was also great. Son had the fettuccini Alfredo and it was average. Ordered creme brûlée, bread pudding with whisky sauce, and brownie with ice cream for dessert, all very delicious. Creme brûlée was the best of those three. Service was phenomenal, ambiance was very chill and hip. They even have a communal guitar for all to enjoy. Outdoor patio is very enjoyable too. Prices are reasonable. Would recommend and go back.

I ate there last year with my Mom and 5 year old. I don't really remember the food. I just remembered that I don't want to go back there. Mediocre food, much better places to go. I think they have live music and are going for a different crowd than I represent. Maybe more of a greatful dead crowd, which I am used to being from Austin :)

New owner and it shows. Lost some of it's charm and personality which was the draw for me. No more cigar store either. 05/2013 Update: Stayed in Ruidoso last weekend and walked right on by the 'grand re-opening' sign and the obviously closed Dreamcatcher. Sad.

This is a very comfortable place to take a breather from all the shops in Ruidoso's main street. We tried several different options from their diverse menu. I mean diverse because you can find shrimp cocktail on the same page as a hot dog on steroids (that thing is huge). Everything we had tasted great and the service was spectacular and the owner was busy walking around making sure things were running smoothly. Two thumbs way up! --Just trying to help on Yelp--

STAY AWAY FORM THIS PLACE. This is by far the worst restaurant in the world. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Here is my story... We were visiting Ruidoso and decided to grab lunch so we decided to go to Dreamcatcher. We walked to the gate and it said "WAIT TO BE SEATED", we waited 15 minutes and nobody came to us. One lady on her way out of the restaurant told us to just sit down because if we stood there we would be there all day. So, we listened and sat down. The waiter finally came and we ordered a appetizer and drinks. He came back 5 minutes and we were ready to order. We ordered our food and waited 30 minutes and no appetizers showed up. 5 minutes later our dinner came out. They forgot to bring the appetizer. We said that it was fine and that we didn't want the appetizer anymore. Once we got our order the every plate was incorrect. One had not cheese, another had the wrong sauce, and another had tomato when we asked for not tomato. That isnt what made us angry. When I was still eating someone came in with a huge dog without a leash, the owner said it was okay for the dog to come in. WHAT KIND OF RESTAURANT ALLOWS A DOG loose? So my friend and I got up and left our other two friends to stay to pay the bill. The menu said for parties of 6 or more they would add 18% gratuity. for some weird reason we were charged that amount and we were only 4. They explained that to the waiter and he said ask the owner. Anyways the owner came to the table and asked them how was everything and why we didn't want to pay that amount. We told her the service was bad and we didn't receive anything we asked for. She yelled at them and said it was our fault and that we were rude. She embarrassed them in front of the whole restaurant which was full. She was rude to us and had no manners. She didn't know how to run a restaurant and didnt know anything about customer service. PLEASE DON'T GO TO THIS RESTAURANT.

Whether as a skiing destination in the winter, the venue for a summer escape or the cure for your gambler's itch, the village of Ruidoso, tucked into the Sierra Blanca mountain range in south-central New Mexico, is a charming getaway. If you have the opportunity, rent a cabin from a local homeowner and make your way to Sudderth Drive for a day of walking, browsing and dining along the village's humble thoroughfare of local boutiques, specialty shops, bars and restaurants. As you traverse Sudderth, I recommend dipping into the Dreamcatcher Cafe and Coffee House to rest your feet and enjoy a fresh pint, or three. When the weather is warm, the eclectic Dreamcatcher Cafe opens up their patio as a gathering place for locals and visitors alike to indulge in a cold brew, good food and a guaranteed enjoyable experience (and even a game of outdoor ping pong). According to their history, the menu at Dreamcatcher has evolved from a standard coffee shop with a single sandwich - the gyro - into a sampling of appetizers, salads and sandwiches shaped by the requests of their loyal customers and accompanied by a list of 30+ beer options. On a recent visit, my friend Thea and I ordered the simple but irresistible "hot bread" appetizer with olive oil and balsamic for dipping ($5), the Thai peanut chicken appetizer served with pita bread and lettuce wraps ($8), and the classic gyro with lamb, feta, tomato, lettuce and tzatziki, all worthwhile selections. The house favorite, however, is reportedly the Cubano sandwich ($8), which I will surely try on my next visit. We washed our meal down with a crisp hefeweizen and some banter with a few locals, the perfect end to a pleasant afternoon in Ruidoso. Ultimately, Dreamcatcher's appeal does not lie in its kitchen's output, but in its quirky, amicable staff and ability to create a sanctuary of relaxation and good feelings, and of course, ping pong. Stopped in there for a couple of microbrew beers and to use their wifi, and I enjoyed my visit. The staff was nice and attentive, a good selection of beers at reasonable prices, and was nice being outdoors at a time, with tall pine trees around. I did not try the food so I do not know about that, but I definitely plan on stopping in there again sometime. If you are looking for an enjoyable pleasant place to enjoy some microbrews, go here. If you need sketchy types, overpriced beer and loud horrid music, go to Quarters.
