This place was lovely! Good, quick service. I got the Italian wedding soup and bruschetta. I found both to be a little salty, but still very good. My fiancé had the lasagna, which was wonderful. The bread and olive oil they bring it is delicious. If you're looking for a low key, nice dinner in Roswell- this place is great!!

Oh, pasta cafe. I have such mixed feelings. First, what's in a name? Not much if THIS is your name. It took me a long time to even bother goi g in. Honestly. On to the food. The food is expensive, but it was pretty good. Sure bet: the calamari with the slices of fried peppercinis/olives. I can't remember the name, but I've had it a few times, and it's absolutely delicious. Also they have a Bourbon pork chop thing that kind of rocked. Negative: the service. I had been a few times where we just left after the calamari appetizer because we had been there for over an hour without a drink refill. And the servers tend to get snarky with each other. It's ugly. Probably not worth the ugliness for one good appie, unfortunately.

I've been waiting years to leave feedback on this place! Wow! My husband and I booked Pasta Cafe to cater our wedding. We were impressed with the $7.25 a plate that we were promised. We ordered food for 150 guests. When we went to pay the bill a week after our wedding, as discussed, we were charged 21 dollars a plate. We were scammed!!!

My boyfriend and I are currently on vacation for Spring Break and stopped in Roswell for the extra terrestrial culture and some good, local food. My immediate impression of Pasta Cafe among walking in was, "wow,". Dimly lit, quiet, and cozy, we knew we were in for a treat. Our waiter was incredibly nice and although the restaurant was mostly empty (this is obviously more of a dinner attraction) he gave us our space and did not hover. My boyfriend and I split a "Godfather" pizza, which was basically a Create-Your-Own option. I got mushrooms and onions on my half, and he had pepperoni on his. The food was PHENOMENAL! The sauce tasted fresh and tomato-y and not like pizza sauce from a jar or can. The crust was soft and flavorful, and it was perfectly portioned. YUM YUM!! The bathrooms were beautiful as well. Cozy, elaborate floor plan, and beautiful murals on the walls fitting the rest of the restaurant. While we may have come for aliens, Pasta Cafe was definitely our favorite part. :)

This is my favorite place in Roswell! My husband and I had our wedding reception in August and had one of the weeks dinners here with my out of town family. They could not stop raving about how great the wine selection was and how amazing the food was ( the green chili chicken fettuccine). As I knew it was a fabulous choice and Pasta Cafe never disappoints!

I sat at the bar so not much to speak about from a server. The bar was quiet with the right amount of lighting. Had the rigatoni alla vodka. Very good interpretation of this dish. Sauce was nice and creamy, with little pancetta chunks, onion (I prefer it made with shallots) and fresh garlic. Mixed in was an appropriate amount of grilled chicken. Pasta was done al dente, which should be expected. With a beer, under $20 pre tip.

The food is very good, but my friends were right; they just can not get an order right.

Good food & good service. I had a caesar salad, pasta, and ice cream, all of which was delicious. The food is not super cheap, but not too expensive either--somewhere in the middle. However, the portions are pretty big, especially the salad. The wait staff was nice and attentive. I have no complaints about this place, and I would definitely dine here again, as well as recommend to friends.

This is a 'nice' bar with 'nice' food. It's a good place to go if you want a quiet experience and decent grub, but it's nothing to get excited about. You can have a great meal one week and a really bad one the next. I saw a waitress spill a hot plate of pasta on a customer and laugh about it.

Food was fantastic!! nice size portions and presentations.. Server was not too good or interactive with us was not busy at all took 5 min and when she got there asked for our drinks and didnt even apologize for the wait, just real rude would not look at me while talking dang near dropped the food on my lap maybe, Being a server myself and that's not way to act i would go to this rest over and over again if management adress their employees. Maybe it's just how the people are out here because i have experienced rudeness everywhere. People think New York is rude and known for bad attitudes (which i love new york) but Roswell has got it beat!

Its place has a lot of potential. It has a very unique feel to it. The way the place is set up is very nice. From the wine bottles along the walls and the different pieces of artwork around the place makes it very pleasant. But where this place does lose points is in the customer service area. When we came there the hostess was in complete disarray. However, she seemed to keep everything together. This was most likely because it was very busy this particulate day because of NMMI's final ball that night. We had reservations but it still took awhile to be seated. Once we where seated it was another 20 minutes before the waitress came to take out drink orders. When she finally came back she immediately left and didn't return for quite along time. If we didn't have such good company that night I pretty sure would have just left because it was kinda ridiculous in retrospect. What saves this place is the Italian food. Mostly the pasta and pizza that they serve. The seafood was not so good and they can definitely work on but you can't expect much in the seafood area in the desert. Overall I'd have to rate this place as average... I know the place was a little packed but the customer service could have been way better. From the long waits, forgotten appetizers, and just plan lack of work ethic leaves me at the crossroad of hate it of love it. Hopefully I will be back to Roswell to get another feel for the place. But for now Mehhh i've had better.

The pizza was the best non-New York pizza I have ever eaten. The place was a bit fancier than I expected, but still reasonable. The capellini was delightful. We were too full to sample dessert. Service was friendly and competent. Overall, a really nice experience

It was not bad for Roswell. The owner Andre and his wife made me feel like we were old friends. The service was good. The drinks were rockin'! The calamari was good. I mean it was in Roswell so how fresh could it be but I was pleased. The atmosphere is very classy. The prices were reasonable as well. I will be eating there again on my next visit.

The food was really good, my Godfather pizza was amazing and the Calamari was so good. Our server was very nice and patient since it took me forever to decide what I wanted. I only give it four stars because the way their seating is set up our table and our neighbor's table behind us or in front, they are right on top of each other. We end u slamming into each other. It's just too tight. It is not very comfortable to be bumping into the person behind you

Food awesome for the price. We had the salmon, lobster ravioli, and spahgetti and meatballs. All were excellent but the S&MB were just okay.

This a review of a visit at 8:00 PM ON Monday, 16 March 2015. BOTTOM LINE - TERRIBLE FOOD, great wine, OBNOXIOUS atmosphere, good to fair service, OVER PRICED, and generally a waste of your money. I have been going to the Pasta Cafe since 2009, well before it was sold. In general terms, the quality has fluctuated almost as seasonally as the weather. In this instant case, the Caesar salad (??) was very limp and brown - the question marks denoting I question the label of this brown mess as (1) a salad, or (2) anything remotely representative of any "Ceasar". The Veal Piccatta, one of my favorites, was tough, strongly, over cooked, and the sauce was atrocious. The accompanying pasta was cold and without any flavor. Oh, let's not forget the loud and obnoxious bar flies, both females, who had to tell their life's stories - or whatever - at 65 decibels volumn in a somewhat empty restaurant, all while impressing the hangers-on. RECIMMENDATION. Save your indigestion, $$$, and hearing and find another eating establishment, because this one is low class, regardless of the impressive adverts.

Went there on mu first trip to Roswell. They Had a decent ambience and the staff was friendly. The food was really good, actually way better than I had expected. Would definitely recommend the calamari, the lobster ravioli and the chicken cacciatore.

This is my favorite pasta place. The food is very fresh. Very nice decor and friendly people. It's not as pricey so that's a plus for food that is way better than Olive Garden

We stopped by on out trip through Roswell. We ordered a variety of food spaghetti, chicken parm, meatball hero and chicken Marsala. Everything was fantastic and cooked perfectly. The staff was attentive and friendly. The prices are less than what a typical Italian lunch or dinner would cost at Olive Garden or similar. The portions were large enough to satisfy a hungry person or enough to have leftovers if desired. Definitely a good variety of food to choose from. We'll come by again the next time we pass through town.

This is a good place for Italian in Roswell. But I had the Prime Rib and Shrimp Scampi - which was very good. Our waiter was pretty good - I think he was new and seemed to try too hard. But he will get it - although he did forget our bread. We will be going back when we want good Italian.

This is our 2nd visit in the last 6-months to Pasta Cafe. First was in March and it was 2 of us during lunch. The food was good and we were looking forward to coming back. Today, we went with a group of about 40 plus. We were quite disappointed. The place cannot adequately handle such a group. 1) The seating was quite tight. You undoubtedly elbowed your neighbor in the process and getting up would be a big undertaking without imposing on various. 2) The beverages were limited, either you didn't get a refill or you had to flag the limited staff down. We finally suggested to leave a pitcher of water on the table for convenience. 3) As in our lunch visit, we were provided bread, none this time, and with the chaos, it wasn't worth asking for. 4) The food came in all sorts of onsey, twosey deliveries. My partner did not receive hers until the very end, almost 1 hour after everybody. I ended up going to Paul the manager on duty to request assistance in expediting receipt. Unfortunately many of us sitting around her had the courtesy to wait, but our meals got cold in the interim. When the meal did arrive, there was no earnest, I apologize, etc. My daughter got meatballs and spaghetti which was a plentiful serving. In fact the other person next to her had not received her meal, so she ended up sharing with my daughter. When her meal finally came, she sent it back. 5) A cake was brought in by our party for sharing. The staff cut cake for one table but failed to do so for the other. At this point it wasn't worth pursuing. While I was able to persuade Paul to compensate me for the delay in meal delivery, I don't believe a $10 credit was worth the bad experience. I don't think I will be returning anytime soon. And certainly not recommending it.

The service is nearly always very very slow, even when not busy. But it's friendly service. I think it's good the lighting is dim because its not as clean as I would like. The food is hit and miss. Sometimes very very good. Sometimes inedible for the same dish. It's not a place I'd recommend but it's not a place I avoid either. It's pricey for what it is however.

Went for lunch with friends. Manicotti Bolognese was perfect! Warm bacon dressing on the salad and the cannelloni was a perfect ending. Service was some of the best I've had in Roswell. I don't get to go very often but I have not ever had a bad experience or meal here.

For a smallish town, it's a nice facility. I don't think the food will make you sick. I'll know more in a couple of hours. The bartender was cordial and appeared to have tended bar before. He had only been there two weeks and hadn't learned the (short) wine list yet. So staff training is zero. The calamari were a hefty portion but unremarkable, as was the too-small dose of bland sauce. Lasagna was a single-serving dish featuring flat pasta and indistinct goo. Fettuccini Bolognese was barely warm, sweet, and short on meat. The menu is so big that you know there's a lot of thawing and re-heating going on in the kitchen. It's ordinary, that's all. We only tried basic, traditional dishes, which should be easy to execute. Maybe it's too much to expect inspired Italian cooking in Roswell, NM. We should have gone to the bull-riding competition and had corn dogs and funnel cakes.

This place used to be so much better when it was at the Roswell Mall. I dont know what happened. I might go back again, but its unlikely. Really expected much

The very tasty Manicotti Bolognese and Porcini Rib Eye were our main dishes, but I feasted on the Bruschetta! The parmesan crusted bread that comes with the bruschetta was the devil. It didn't stop me from having dessert too though. I was bummed that the last creme brulee sold out while we were there, however the Lemon Berry cake was good too. Lunch service was meticulously executed probably because he was training the gal that shadowed him...excellent nonetheless. I would definitely go again and hopefully they'll have creme brulee next time!

Well, we were passing through Roswell NM, and looking for some food, and while we were willing to settle for fast food we hoped for better, well, we found it. This place is a gem, while the wine selection is a bit short, the staff is very friendly. But the food, that's why you go to a restaurant, The breads were very good, the Calamari was nearly perfect and all of the the pasta dishes we tried were excellent. Overall very pleased, we would definitely come here again, if we found ourselves in or near Roswell.

The food was good but the service is lacking. A waitress tended to our needs then we had a waiter for the rest of the time. It took about 20 minutes after I finished my drink for the waiter to come and ask if I need a refill but by that time I was ready to just leave.

Never got past the front door. When we pulled in and saw eight or 10 staff members in the parking lot smoking I figured they couldn't be very busy on a Saturday night....when we walk in the hostess isn't at her station. Wanna guess where she was? Finally a waitress asked us if we've been helped -- no ma'am waiting to be seated....and she just walks off. She was the only person working inside. And then we stood there....and waited. Then the bartender comes over, he spent five minutes looking over his shoulder wondering where the hostess is -- finally grabs two menus. Then the hostess walks up, they look at each other for a good two or three minutes trying to figure out where in the basically empty restaurant to seat us. Clueless. This isn't that hard. I had had enough. We left and went somewhere else.

So good! I don't know where to start, maybe with the amazing bellinis, or the tasty eggplant parmesan, or how about the best fettuccine alfredo I have ever eaten. No! I will start with amazing service! Not only is the owner such a nice guy, and his wife is a peach, but they allowed my mom to bring her service animal onto the patio, its like 100o outside, and my mom was gonna stay in the car, since we were having no luck finding a place that would allow my moms special cat. I figured I would ask, and the owner was amazing! Our server even brought Isis (our service cat) water, and opened a can of food we had in our car for her. Best service ever! Clinton you are the best waiter ever, please never leave The Pasta Cafe. I want to visit Roswell again just to eat here again!

Stumbled upon this place and could not have had a better experience! Extremely friendly staff and very accommodating. And the service was outstanding! The calamari is some of the best I've ever had. Our main dishes were good, but not the best they has to offer - they were out of a popular dish. If you go, ask for Staci. She practically anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them.

  • Amie L.

The service was outstanding! But the food, well....lets just say I could have made better pasta dishes at home. Unfortunately, we wont be back to pay $80.00 for appetizers, 2 dinners and a nice over-priced bottle of wine. The Atmosphere was inviting, dimly lit and like I said, service was great but I think our $80.00+tip (so more like $100.00) could have gone a lot further at home with a few friends over for dinner.

Who eats Italian food in Roswell? I do. Fried calamari, good. Lightly fried with tangy peppers. Lobster ravioli, good. Covered with a scallop cream sauce. Frutti di mari, good. I had it with the white wine sauce. Prices are reasonable, service was helpful.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
