Chips are fantastically crispity and delicious Red chile pretty good There was a strange smell when we walked in Horchata was strange. Tasted like coconut Malibu rum with a bit of cinnamon. But I did want to lick my plate after finishing my chorizo, egg, potato burrito drenched in NM red chile. Ate there twice during our short visit with my aunt. Later she asked how her Las Cruces red chile compared. OMg there was no comparison. Hers was in a different league. Sorry I don't think she will let you come eat in her kitchen though. It was quite silent while we mopped up the chile with our tortillas. When the food ran out we just kept eating the chile anyway. At my aunt's house...again, I apologize that you will not taste the best on earth, but Salsa will not disappoint when you don't know what you're missing.

After having Salsa's I think this place is the only place as close to Cali food as you can get...other places have frozen entrees but over here I can get my Asada burrito just the way I had it back in Ca.

Vegetarian's Note: they have an avocado quesadilla that is one of the best veg options in Gallup. It is a simple restaurant. They don't serve alcohol. Chips and salsa come with the meal. The food is decent and I would definitely suggest it if you are a vegetarian or vegan.

We enjoyed our meal here. Not fancy but delicious. I loved the salsa and homemade chips. The waiter was great, too. If we lived near Gallup we'd eat here often. By the way, I don't know who decided it wasn't good for kids...it's not formal and pretty much relaxed= great for kids. They even had a kids menu.

New Mexico is the birthplace of the breakfast burrito and the start of Southwestern cuisine. Though you might only find yourself in Gallup as a stopover on a road trip, this place had the best breakfast enchiladas and fresh tortilla chips (not ones you find in a bag). Even my recent trip to Mexico disappointed me with bagged chips. This place also marked the appearance of NM's green and red salsa. Those of you not familiar with Gallup, it's a town filled with pawn shops and $20 motels in the heart of Navajo and Hopi country. Historically a lot of westerns and sci-fi movies are shot there if you are into that sort of thing.

The breakfast enchiladas with green chile were good. The green chile was spicier than the El Rancho which was nice but I like the overall flavor of the green chile at the El Rancho slightly better. I would return here.

Fabulous, affordable, and friendly food in an otherwise largely unredeemable culinary landscape. Fresh home made tortillas, and spicy salsa (in green or red or christmas) compliment the breakfast enchiladas perfectly. Regretting that I doubt I'll be passing through Gallup again.
