Why nobody in town seems to know about this place is beyond me. Asked our hotel front desk if there were any local places to get breakfast and was told Denny's, asked the ladies at the gas station if there were any places besides Denny's and McDonalds for breakfast or brunch. They replied with "Well only Denny's because it is past 10:30 so Mcdonalds is done with breakfast". Spoke with the cashier at the QuickStop and her reply was still only Denny's even though Front street is walking distance from her shop. Oh well. Great food and atmosphere and we will be back next time we head to Lake Mac!

This was definitely a touristy place with a lot of character. We didn't do any of the shows, but did tour the gift shop and museum-I would recommend taking the time to do both. The food was delicious-we had everything from chicken fried chicken, prime rib, and New York strip to fried Mac and cheese bites (amazing!). The service was ok, but very slow (it was Saturday night at 7pm to their defense). Great atmosphere and great food-overall I would do it again!

My wife and I met her parents here, and since it had fairly decent reviews online we decided to try it out. Me and my inlaws had burgers and my wife had a BBQ Pork sandwich. My wife said her BBQ Pork was OK, nothing special but not bad either. I have the same opinion of my burger as well. The service here was a big issue. There weren't too many people here when we were, and it still took forever for our food to get out to us. Once we did get our food, the server was very few and far between and several times there were empty drinks at our table. Another concern of mine was that the prices were outrageous. I don't understand how a Chicken Fried Steak could cost $15, or some of there steaks that were between $25-$30. I've noticed Ogallala has very few dining establishments, and I felt like this restaurant was taking advantage of its customers.

We've been traveling across country and decided to spend the night in Ogallala, Nebraska. We found this restaurant on Yelp and gave it a try. My wife ordered the rib eye steak and I had the Ogalalla steak sandwich. Both were very good. Order the onion rings, they are good!

We stopped and had dinner at this restaurant and saw the show when we stayed in ogallala. The food was fantastic and the show was better than abroad way show. The actors were great and the theme and singing were most enjoyable. I highly recommend the food and the show.

What terrible service We waited 1/2 hour for our ice teas, another hour for a terrible steak IN STEAK COUNTRY! Vegtables with "minute"steak were cold, my husband's 12 ounce NY strip might have been 8 ounces at best with tons of fat/gristle. Any place else would have been a step up!

Stopped in after camping for a quick breakfast on our way home to Colorado. We were not disappointed. Simple breakfast menu with food better than anything from Denny's or IHOP. Cute historic theme great for kids. Worth the stop for a relaxing affordable bite to eat.

Food is great!! Service is excellent. The Crystal Palace Review show is a wonderful family activity!!! Longest running show in Nebraska and I can see why!!

Stopped in on my way home after the 4th of July weekend, and the place was absolutely packed full. I heard this place was the place to go and now I know why. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and the food was AMAZING. I had the chicken fried steak and the flavor was outstanding!! The food came out fresh and came out in a timely manner.

Ok...so check this out: My wife and I were on I80 heading to the east coast back in 2006. We stopped here. We ordered the $20.00+ steaks, and WE WERE IN HEAVEN!!!! Best darn steak I've ever had!!! We kept the matchbook cover from that joint for the next 7 years.....and over that time we told everyone of our family and friends about that place and how it WAS THE BEST STEAKHOUSE IN THE WORLD!!! We really did, I swear!!! FASTFORWARD TO MAY 2013: We are heading back east (again....road trip) and WE MADE PLANS to again experience the BEST STEAK IN NEBRASKA!! WHAT A LET DOWN THAT WAS!!!! We again stopped in.....around 3:30 to 4:00 pm and we were served the most god awful steak and meal! The steaks had a ton of veins, grissle and @ 24.00 per steak THAT WAS SUCH A LET DOWN!!! The potatoes were cold and hard......so disappointed. The only saving grace were the salads....which were fresh and cool. I will never stop there again.....

The food here was excellent! I had the steak sandwich. The meat was tender and the portion was just right. The service was excellent too. The only thing I would suggest is that if you get a hamburger and you don't like it cooked rare, tell them beforehand.

We went here thinking it was going to be great, and maybe on another day it might have been. It's a large local place connected to a bar that offers Old West type entertainment. I had the buffalo burger which, while it tasted good, was a bit dry. The wife had a BLT and it was not good. The bacon was over done, almost burnt. The tomatoes were not ripe and hard. We complained about the sandwich and the waitress took half the cost off, instead of the whole charge. Not good service in my opinion. Service was slow, and mind you we were the only ones in the place. We went between lunch and dinner.

Stopped there for lunch. The service was unbelievably slow and the waitress was very good at disappearing for long periods of time. When the food arrived the steak was cold. When we sent it back it came back after being put in the microwave. Yuck! They brought the salads out after our entrees were served. Never been so glad to escape from a restaurant. That said, it appeared that locals received much better service. If you aren't a local I would avoid this place. If you are a local let them know that their poor service to travelers reflects poorly on the entire community.

Blah food. Buffalo burger was really dry (even for buffalo). The table was dusty and so was the waitress!
