The current manager stinks. This is the VI closest to home but we won't go again any time soon. The waiter confused our sandwich order- brought one $2.00 less expensive and said the one asked for isn't available except during lunch. My son ate his cheaper sandwich. I asked to see the menu again and pointed out there are no time limits listed on that sandwich on the menu. The waiter offered to get us the right sandwich and admitted he just made a mistake. We were pressed for time so I suggested a free piece of pie to go, for the trouble. He said "sure" and apologized for the mix-up. Then he brought the bill. The $1.50 pie was on the house, but we were charged the extra $2.00 for the sandwich we didn't get. The waiter said, "my manager said I have to do it this way." I spoke to the manager at the cash register and said his math didn't add up very well. That slime bucket of a man said, "Oh, I'm sooo sorry. I will have to correct my waiter. He really messed this up." Right. I'd hate to be wait staff working with a lousy manager like him. He totally threw the waiter under the bus to cover up his own weaselyness.

I haven't eaten at VI for a number of years. I was reminded why today. I ordered an eggs Benedict dish with potato pancakes. It came out with sausage gravy, and not a hint of hollendaise sauce, which by definition makes it eggs Benedict. The server argued with me. I pointed out the listing under the heading of eggs Benedict. She wandered if I wanted the sauce on the side. I'm not big on sending things back or if I do I won't eat anything then. I kept the dish as was. Not very good. No compensation of any kind other then her lame offer. It will be another number of years before I go back. Her tip reflected the whole ordeal. Zero.

Went here on a Sunday morning and the place was packed. The wait staff was very efficient and fast. If you get Blake he is the best waiter there. Try the cheesy hashbrown scrambler.

With This being a holiday week, I debated not writing this review, but I feel I have to. We went to Village Inn on a Thursday night, the restaurant was fairly empty. I expected fast good service. This is not what I got. Here is what I got. My coffee was luke warm, when I asked for a new pot of coffee our server offered to put this coffee in the microwave to warm it up. I said no I would like a new pot of coffee. I don't think he brought us a new pot of coffee because the pot returned slightly warmer. Next I headed to the restroom to use the facilities, and I found feces smeared on the toilet seat. I informed the manager, he said someone would clean it. BTW-no one has done this by the time we left. I know because I could see the entrance of the restroom, and no one entered with any cleaning equipment. Third my husband did not receive what he ordered. Which was fine because it was still a burger, just minus the extras. Third they were out of pie! This s what they pride themselves on, and they run out! Ridiculous! Finally after all of this When I go to pay the check I let the assistant manager asked me "how was your meal?" I told him exactly what I wrote here. He shook his head and said yes, this happens sometimes, and proceed to inform me that they have been having a problem with someone smearing their poop around. Needless to say I will NEVER Return to Village Inn. Ever! Please, Please, Please send your hard earned money else where!!!

What a nice group of people. From the manager, to Sara the wonderful wait person, they make our dining experience pleasant and efficient. No matter how crowded the restaurant is, the food always comes promptly and the it is prepared properly. I am normally not a fan of the Village Inn franchise ... but this restaurant is well run and a pleasure to dine within. Thanks to the staff of the Van Dorn Village Inn.
