I have been eyeballing this place since they opened up. Usually busy. They have chicken of course with a variety of dipping sauces that are pretty good. It is a different way to do boring chicken fingers. The desserts are not too bad either. The staff here was very helpful for my first time and picked on my being lost in the sauce, so to speak. Everyone had a genuine smile and great attitude. Overall, good grinds for the whole family. The secret is in the sauce.

this location had the friendliest, best staff I have ever encountered at a fast casual restaurant! the food was satisfying too. i got chicken and waffles, with a side of fried pickles that were awesome, even though i was expecting whole pickles and not thinly sliced wedges.

I have been dying to try Slim Chickens ever since they announced they were coming to Lincoln. However, when they opened their first store it was too crowded and decided to wait a while. Then the negative reviews started coming in. One Star? Really? Worse than someone would rate a McDonalds? Surely, Slim Chickens must use vulture meat and the soda's must be made with the tears of orphaned baby seals? So I was driving by today at lunch time and there happened to be a few spots in the parking lot so I thought I would see if this one star nonsense held any water. Based upon the ratings, I was expecting when I arrived to see people who were horribly disfigured, and obviously were either mentally challenged or had their tastebuds removed in a horrible accident. Yet everyone seemed rather normal. The person at the register was rather pleasant. Something was amiss? I would give two stars based upon friendliness alone. So their food MUST be nearly inedible. Why else would the reviews be so horrible. I placed my order for the three wing, three strip meal. I got the mild sauce on the wings with Slim Sauce and Ranch for my side dips. Now, I thought, I will probably have to wait for an hour. SURELY they will earn the poor ratings that they have been give. My food came out in less than five minutes. Hmmm. Given the short amount of time I had to wait, they must be undercooked, or have been sitting under a heat lamps. Because why else would they be rated so low? Strangely enough, they were steaming hot, fresh and delicious. The fries appeared to be fresh cut with some skin still on them. The toast was crisp with a buttery garlic tastes. Dare I say it? I would even say, FAR BETTER than Lincoln's beloved Raising Canes. Less I give a perfect review, I would say that the wings were sitting on top of my french fries and I didn't necessarily enjoy having buffalo sauce all over some of my fries. I am forced to conclude that there is a possibility, that some people who reviewed this restaurant were predisposed to dislike it because they already had a favorite chicken strip restaurant in town. (which I previously mentioned). I suspect that there is no amount of service, quality, or presentation that would have caused these people to enjoy Slim Chickens. I could find nothing to complain about. Certainly no reason to give them a poor review, and every reason to say this was delicious and that I will stop again as soon as possible, and am bringing the family back with me. Well done Slim Chickens. Welcome to Lincoln.

Nice staff. Bad food. BLAND! BLAND! BLAND! Doesn't even compare to Raising Cane's chicken. The chicken strips are dry, tasteless and have no crispy breading. The fries only taste of salt; they have no other potato or oil flavor. The Buffalo chicken wrap had a very hot spice to it which burned for quite a while but somehow was still bland! (How can you make "hot" still be bland?) It didn't even remotely resemble a Buffalo chicken type of flavor.

We finally got the chance to try this place, after my father has been raving about it for awhile! I was very impressed when we first walked in by the décor and overall feel of the place. It has fun décor and was very clean. Which in my book puts you a step above in the fast food business. I was impressed at how many options are on the menu and how many side options you have. You aren't limited to 3 choices like you are at raising canes. I decided to try the ranch chicken wrap and fries. The fries were nice and crispy and had good flavor. I wasn't overly impressed with my wrap. The chicken itself was good, but the wrap was kind of bland. I was expecting a bit more flavor. We did have fried pickles as a side to share, and those were very good! They also have fun deserts in mason jars that look yummy! I would like to try it again to sample more things on the menu, and hopefully there is more flavor involved.

I tried Slim Chickens for the first time tonight and was pleasantly surprised after reading some of the negative reviews. I tried the chicken strips, fries, slim sauce and honey mustard sauce. The fries were way better than Raising Canes mostly because I hate crinkle cut fries like the ones that Raising Canes serves. The texas toast was really just regular lightly toasted white breast with butter but I didn't go there for the toast. I really liked the chicken strips even though the breading was really light. The taste reminded me of homemade fried chicken. I usually pull off extra breading on chicken strips anyways. I thought they had enough seasoning. They were extremely juicy and the dipping sauces add extra flavor. They have a variety of dipping sauces including one that is very similar to the only sauce at Raising Canes. My comparison of Slim Chickens and Raising Canes: Chicken strips: Slim Chickens is better Fries: Slim Chickens is better Signature sauce: very similar, but Raising Canes wins Variety of dipping sauces: Slim Chickens Texas Toast: Raising Canes wins Price: they are pretty equal

SO glad Slim Chickens came to Lincoln! I have never had a bad experience here. Everything I have tried was wonderful. I had the Slims Wrap with grilled chicken and it was very flavorful. Chicken tenders are good, not quite as good as Raising Canes but still tasty. When it comes to selection this place has Canes beat by a mile. Their grilled chicken salad is absolutely wonderful with homemade ranch. Staff is helpful and answer all my dumb questions politely.

Yum, yum, yum!!!!! They have the best chicken strips ever. They are the juiciest, perfectly breaded strips. Would highly recommend them. Perfect for the whole family !

No delicate way to put this, don't waste your time. . If you want chicken strips Canes is 10x better and more for the money. . If you want wings you can pick any of 10 bars in town and have way better. The strips are small, the wings even smaller. . Very little meat for $1/wing. For the money I felt a little bit screwed. . I like this to expensive BAD bar food at best. Not seeing the value for the money. .

Don't have a Raising Cane's next to your house? Spend a little more money and you can have to closest thing to it at Slim Chickens. I was curious to try this place since they've been popping up all over Lincoln. They do specialize in chicken fingers, so I decided to order that on my first visit. With my value meal you can choose from a variety of sauces. I got the Slim Chickens standard sauce and some spicy ranch sauce. The chicken by itself is pretty bland, not a lot of season really which would help. The chicken does taste good in the sauce but it's kind of a cheap way to cover the overall flavor of the chicken. Like RC (Raising Cane's), Slims gives you a handful of chicken fingers, fries, a piece of toast, and whichever sauces you choose. The only thing missing from my value order is the coleslaw, which is kind of a bummer. I had to order mine separately adding to the overall total. The coleslaw is more mayo based, so it's thicker and creamier than the RC version of the side. Their sweet Tea is pretty good, not too sweet and you can taste the tea in it. Overall was the food bad? No, it was pretty descent but it's pretty standard fast food fare. Pretty close to what Raising Cane's has going for it. The main difference b/t SC and RC is that SC has different items on their menu like chicken wings, chicken and waffles, chicken finger sandwiches, and desert options. All of which I haven't tried yet. So Slims has more variation in food items over Cain's. I spent probably 12 dollars on my total meal and I'm full, so there's pretty decently sized portions. All in all check it out, or if you're a fan of Cane's I would just stick with that.

Go to Cane's instead. I had the buffalo wrap and my son had the chicken kids meal. I could have made a way better wrap at home, not much chicken even in it. The chicken strips were bland. The only positive were the tea varieties.
