An excellent addition to the brewery scene in Lincoln, Ploughshare has a great selection of beers. Farmboy is my favorite right now, a smooth and creamy ale. Last time I was there they had it on cask, which was delicious. Their homemade pretzels are fantastic! You've got to try one with their mustard. I prefer Ploughshare to Zipline.

An awesome time here. I was spending a few hours in Lincoln before meeting a good friend and thought I would give Ploughshare a shot. Being at another great spot prior, they shared that the design was inspired with local help and it was a bigger spot. No doubt. Huge and expansive upon entering. I posed next to the bar and got an ESB. it was delish. The Dandelion saison was also very good. A friend from years back rolled up next to me and I remembered that Nebraska is really a small community spread over 93 counties. I have been excited to try the beers that I liked from beerfests in a brick/mortar location and was not saddened at all. I got a pretzel to compliment my beers and it, too was great. I shell be cruising in here when I find myself in Lincoln

We only had enough time for their brewery tour, but it was well worth the $6, for which you'll receive a beautiful glass, several well-portioned tastings, a ticket for a full glass later in the evening, and a good chunk of beer history. The head brewer is a chemist and takes their craft seriously -- there wasn't a single beer I tried that I didn't like.

I am not a beer drinker (my friends are), but I always enjoy going to Ploughshare. I really like the ambiance. I like the casual feel of the place with all the wood and the decor. I love the loft area. They run trivia nights on Tuesdays (last I knew), and every time I went, it was PACKED in the loft. I actually just like casually hanging out there with friends most of all. They don't have a wide selection of food, but it's all quite tasty. The drinks they offer for non-beer fans are good, too. A fantastic addition to Lincoln!

First impress as I walked it was confusion. It was not clear if they were serving food or not as no one appeared to be eating. So my wife and I got in line to see how this place worked. Waited our turn and then found out that they were in fact serving but you order at the bar. Hmmmm that's weird but ok. My wife ordered something clearly on the menu but was told they were out of it. Why would it still be on a menu printed the 8th? The gentleman in line next to us had the same experience with an other item on the menu. I ordered a flight of four underwhelming beers. A lager, English pale, IPA and a wheat. Couldn't tell you much about them since nothing was remarkable. If they had taken orders at the table I may have given 4 more beers a try but not going to stand in line again. Oh well! The food was not so good either, the bratwurst my wife had was dry, sauerkraut was bland the mustard on the other hand was real good. I had the brats and cream, which wasn't bad. Just not really flavorful and not real hot when I got it. Seemed like not much food for a a lot of money especially since I had to order it from the bar and not a server. Will not return.

This place is so neat and just beginning it didn't start from the bottom by any means it's so amazing inside and the owner is such a cool great guy! Took my bestie through the tour room for her bachelorette party and loved it. The glasses we kept were so cool. Was so cheap for the bear you get too!! And a free one after. The one thing I would like to see is a fuller menu so I could eat dinner after too. But it's focused on beer and that's what is important!

Best craft beer in the state and great atmosphere. Food is good, service can be slow at times, but everyone is friendly and helpful.

Second time here. The servers are very friendly and helpful. The beers here trend towards the lighter side but are very smooth. The food is superb. The pretzels are warm and perfect. You can not go wrong with either sauce. My wife loves, loves, loves the squash soup. The schnitzel was also excellent.

They only have about 3 items on their menu and when I went, they were out of what I wanted to order. However their beers were excellent

This is my first ever review on yelp. But after visiting this establishment,I feel compelled to do so. Lincoln, I am envious you have such a 'pub'. Nothing like this where I am from. The food menu, while limited, is well thought out and creative. Not your usual 'meat and potatoes'. Refreshing, considering where this place is located. The beers are very drinkable. Seem to be heavily influenced by the English, German, Belgium style of beers. Not your typical american, over the top, IPA's and pale ales. Thank you... Oh...and NO TV's....!!!! I noticed very few people with their eyes glazed over staring at their phones. This place had a very communal feel to it. Actually engaged in conversation with several of the locals. Isn't that what a pub should be?!?!? For those of you complaining about having to go to the bar to order your food and/or beer....get over yourself! Is it really so difficult to get off your ass and go get a drink? I talked to at least 6 people behind the bar and all were personable and very knowledgeable about their product. This place is a gem...they deserve your patronage Lincoln..

I love Ploughshares! The food and beer are delicious and the owner/tour guide is so knowledgeable and friendly. The service, as the establishment gets settled, is getting better.

I have never expeienced such awful service in my life. We were treated with absolutely no respect at this establishment. I would highly recommend going anywhere in Lincoln aside from this place.

Very friendly place, good beer, not cookie cutter brewpub the seems to be cropping up. Sadly not pet friendly, so it did not tick all the boxes. I did not try the food.

Beer might be good but the customer service is rough.

Great food, good atmosphere, and outstanding beer! A fine selection of their own beers (the Irish red ale is my favorite), and items like house-made pretzels, cheese plates, bratwurst, soups, and several vegan & vegetarian options. Best of all- no TVs! The use of reclaimed wood from an old barn makes the place look like it's been there a hundred years.

We have been to Ploughshare a few times, usually with friends. Their beer is decent and their food is good. It's always great to see local places pop up in Lincoln. I think this one has the potential to stick around, but there are a few things working against it. One of the biggest reasons I won't go there is that you have to go up to the bar to order all of your food and beverages, even if you are seated in the 'restaurant' part of the establishment. This inconvenience really stood out when we were there with a group of friends. We all had to stand in line at the register at the bar to order our meals. Then if you wanted another beer or something else after you got your food, you had to get up from your table and go stand in line again. With a group of friends, there is almost always going to be someone missing from the conversation. The food is good, but priced higher than an 'order at the counter' establishment should be. The price is fair for the caliber of food you get, but I don't think the food prices match the overall caliber of experience. Again, when I go out to eat with friends, I want to spend my time hanging out with them, enjoying conversation (not standing in line for another beer), and I'm willing to pay for that experience. At our table of four on New Year's Eve, we all wanted another beer around the same time. But we decided to close our tab (again, having to stand in line just to settle our bill) and go get our next round elsewhere. I understand wanting to trim costs here and there, but if Ploughshare would have had a few servers hired at even $8-10/hour, our next round would have covered their labor... and we were just one table. I like this place. The atmosphere is tastefully country, but not 'Cracker Barrel' country. The beer is good, the food is good. I want to see it survive. However, I'm unlikely to frequent it if I have to be my own server. One other strike against them is that while I was sitting at the bar on a separate occasion, the guy behind the bar washing glasses, accidentally dropped his rag on the floor, then picked it up and put it back in the basin where he was washing. Unsanitary and unacceptable. This 3-star review could easily be a 4 or 5 with a few changes. Ploughshare, you have a lot going for you. I hope this review helps bring about customer-friendly change.

Ok I'm not into hoppy beers...their Pilsner was way too hoppy for me...but their schnitzel was awesome! The last time I had schnitzel was in Germany and it had nothing on this place! Try it out!

Very good stuff. The food was very tasty. Selena loved the pretzels and my favorite was the braut. We also ordered off the winter menu and all of it was good. They have beer for everyone no matter what you enjoy and will let you sample before ordering a whole glass. Go here if you are looking for something new in Lincoln. Promise you wont be dissapointed.

Not a huge selection for food but for being a microbrewery, the food is delicious. A little pricey but you're served a good healthy portion. Food came out fast but they weren't super busy and it wasn't super hot. I had the beef bolognaise. The sauce tastes fresh and the ricotta dallop a creative way to add cheese.

First time visiting and will start with WOW! Went in on a Sunday afternoon a warm greeting from a very friendly staff. They had a new ESB on tap and the first thing they asked was if we wanted to taste it. That's a great start. It was a wonderful beer. We ordered a couple of the local brews the IPA and the Whit both were very clean and finished well. The menu is very short and to the point which is nice. Didn't spend an hour looking for something to snack on. We ordered both types of pretzels they offer and both were good. Next time we go I will order one of the sample platters with meat and cheese or the smoked salmon looked killer. Finished the visit off with the signature Tailgate Red and the cream ale both good. We also were told about the next releases and sampled the Smithy Stout and it was a must have for that style of craft beer. Overall great atmosphere and wonderful service.

2nd time. Confirmed love the Butternut Squash Curry soup. Don't miss the pretzel and the mustard (my husband likes the homemade peppercorn ranch ). My beer is the Farm boy ale. My husband liked his food so much "they even made the beets delish.

The pretzels were fantastic. The oatmeal stout was quite tasty but the IPA left something to be desired. It was hard to believe they started charging a $20 cover on new years over an hour before the band started. It was a pain to order beer and food at the bar while most of the staff was standing around behind the bar not serving. It would be a lot nicer if servers took orders at the table and brought beers out.
