I have lived in Lincoln for 20 years and never tried old chicago until I moved to a small town and someone brought it into a meeting. I am ruined for all other pizza! I am mad at myself that I lived so close for so long and didn't eat there daily. I go into either one whenever I go to Lincoln, it is a must to have their food. Every time I look at the menu I know what I will be trying next time and it is all I think about until I can. ( next up, thi chicken pizza) I had a calzone last time and it will be hard not to order that again. All praises to the food aside, service doesn't get better then this. Usually when you go to a restaurant long enough you eventually get a bad server, never, not once in either location. From hosts, wait staff, bartender to managers, anyone you come across treats you right. Hats off to the management for Old Chicago, they want you to come back and they make sure you will. The one time I had a small problem with a dish it was fixed immediately and he ( the manager, I didn't catch his name) was more then accommodating and helpful to me as well as the server. It's a pleasure to give this company a 5 star review!

I have a quandry when reviewing old Chicago. I've eaten here probably a half dozen times. I have had their sandwiches and their calzones, but never their pizza. I can't say that I've ever had a bad experience here. However my quandry lies in teh fact that I've never had what I would call a great experience here either. The calzones seem kind of bland, and the sandwiches are good sandwiches, just sort of unexceptional. The service has always been good and the prices are about average for comparable dining establishments. Overall, I have to apologize for the middling review. I don't hesitate to eat at Old Chicago when that option is presented to me, but neither do I crave it, or seek out an opportunity to eat here. If you have the option, don't hesitate to try. I don't think you will be disappointed. However, perhaps they will impress you beyond what they have me. Happy Dining.

Our waitress was friendly and polite, our food was served quickly and was good. I had the Italian Nachos, and my son had the calzone.

Terrible service. Took 35 minutes just to get a waitress to our table. Another hour to get our food which was cold and stale. Went to the bathroom and heard other complaining to the manager that said he purposefully under staffed to save on labor. When we complained about the wait, the manager was very patronizing and sexist and refused compensation. This place is not hide.

Made another stop tonight at the Old Chicago's in Lincoln Nebraska tonight. The ice cold craft beer and bubbling hot pizza. Super fast friendly service. I can't wait to be back.... Nice Job OC!

They had absolutely the BEST chicken fettuccini alfredo Ive EVER HAD!! a bit pricey, but amazing taste. Their Pizzas delicious too! Seating time food time is a little slow, but definitely worth the wait!

The wings are pretty good, but the pizza is NOTHING like Chicago style pizza.

I've lived in Lincoln my whole life(I'm 30) and had never been here. I went to lunch with my son and was soooo impressed. The lunch prices are fantastic, the pizza has ruined all other pizza for me, and I have been back 4 times just this month. The service can be a bit slow, but to me it is worth the wait. Also, even though it's not particularly kid-friendly, they always made my son feel welcome and comfortable and he's 5. I will be back obviously and I will recommend to anyone who asks.

Great, fast and super friendly service. Food was a great price for the portion size. I recommend the calzone, it was HUGE. Amazing flavors. The servers name was Carrie, very friendly and easy to talk with! Definitely will be coming back soon!

So, a patron at the Red Fox Steak House & Lounge recommended I go to Old Chicago for dessert (it was close to 11pm - which was a factor). When I asked what they had, the waitress hesitantly said cheesecake, turtle brownies and after a pause, finished by adding cookies to the list. Yeah, that really convinced me to try something. But since I found the place, the least I could do was order their cheesecake. When it came out, it didn't make me think it was going to be edible. But I tried a bite - what do you know - it wasn't half bad! I actually enjoyed it. They had a nice caramel sauce with it too. When I looked around at the actual spot, it looked like a nice little college town bar. Plenty of TV's, lots of booths to sit and eat at. It looked really modern - especially for toting the name "OLD" Chicago. Though, I didn't really get a Chicago theme from the place. I'm sure the pizza is good though.

I've been there several times with groups of friends. Not a bad bar/grill sort of vibe. I've mostly just went there for the pint night. Go during happy hour and get the half price mini pizzas and order a few pint night beers. 5 bucks for the glass and 1 dollar refills. Not too bad. Not sure if I should comment on the staff. Sometimes they were good and other times they were insanely slow.

If you enjoy good food coupled with good-natured-but-couldn't-give-two-shits-about-you service, this is the place for you. The waiter was terrible. TERRIBLE. Forgot our orders, lied about what came on a dish, disappeared for long stretches, and just blithely said that everything we ordered was his favorite. He wasn't a dick; he was just a bad waiter. Why lie on a recommendation? "I wake up dreaming about those wings!" Really? Orange, soggy, suspiciously fat wings that aren't spicy at all? You crave them, douchebag? Fine. Also, he dreams about our spaghetti (just plain old spaghetti) and my sandwich ("ooh, that's my favorite!"). He also didn't mention that the Ceasar salad comes with about a pound of chicken, which my wife hates (I know, who hates chicken, but still). All that said, the food was good. It's just that the overall experience left the impression that they couldn't care less if we ate there or not. It was a tasty sandwich, but I won't go back.

My server didn't know what a Whiskey-neat was. We decided to play with the server a bit and make her find out from one of her co-workers what it was. The bartender didn't even know. She did manage to -guess- what "three fingers" meant. Shameful. As far as the food, service, or ambiance is concerned: it's Old Chicago. What do you want?

This place is slow on service...I order some food to go and I waited almost 45minutes for my order!! the bartender was an idiot...he kept flirting with the girls at the bar and everybody else was waiting for him to serve us...i would recommend you to stay away from this place if you going to eat at the bar!!

I love the pizza here and would highly recommend the vegetarian chicago-style pizza! Delicious! The service, noise level, and overall atmosphere are hit-or-miss, but it's a fun place to go with a small group of friends or on a casual date. I would recommend asking for a table toward the back, as it can get a little loud near the bar.

The food is pretty good for a chain restaurant (especially the pizza), they have a ton of beer to choose from, but my problem is the service. You're either going to get someone who knows what they are doing or someone who would rather shoot themselves than work there one more night. This was the case when I went here last night. It was a Monday night and the place was pretty dead. We didn't get any refills, we weren't checked on once we had our food, she tried to take my plate away when I was only half done, and the way she spoke to us was bitch-tastic in general. I've been a server, I know how it is, but she was just terrible.

Great Food!! Great Service!! Really don't know what else to say! I have been here about 10 times and can't really think of any bad experience :). If you looking for a great place for friends to gather look no further! FYI get the pretzel appetizer. If I could eat those for every meal I would!!

Tap Room atmosphere with every sports game in ample display on all the TVs - very cold beer on draft and bottle. Build your own mac and cheese seems like a popular dish so we ordered that. With creamy Alfredo sauce and over crispy bread crumbs and your choice of extra ingredients (ie; basil, garlic, ground beef, olives, tomatoes, extra cheese ) this dish is a true winner! There is also spaghetti pie where noodles are boiled and baked like lasagna. You choose your own toppings. In addition to those fun choices there are regular things like the bacon blue cheese pretzel bun burger and the sausage nachos, it may be a noisy man cave kinda bar but the food is high quality and the servers are sweet and competent.

As the General Manager, I feel compelled to let fellow Yelpers know that some of the basic information on this page is incorrect. I have tried contacting Yelp to update this information to no avail. Here is the updated, correct information: 1) Our doors are open from 11am to 1am every night of the week except for some holidays and open earlier for some UNL home football games. 2) We mostly take reservations for our upstairs bar and banquet room (25 to 150 people) 3) Not only is there street parking but also various surrounding parking garages. 4) We are ABSOLUTELY wheelchair accessible and offer elevator access to the upstairs bar. 5) We feature many draft and bottle beers, and wine, but also offer a full liquor bar. 6) We do not cater. If you have any questions or need more information about our location, please call us or check our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information at facebook.com/OCHaymarket . Thanks for your time. Hopefully Yelp can update this information sooner rather than later. Eric Fay General Manager | Old Chicago at The Haymarket

I'm not totally sure what happens here. I've read everyone else's reviews and it seems like a restaurant...my experience just seems very different. Inebriated, our trio walked in after the closing hours posted on the door and went upstairs. Perhaps our friend from Lincoln knew what she was doing? We were greeted with black lights, loud music, and a full bar. Our bartender was very quick when it came to our service. There were still some people dancing and hanging out but I was sort of confused as to the situation here. I'm not totally sure if people come here for the restaurant aspect of the place or to bar hop (like we had been doing)? It wasn't terribly busy upstairs and there were a ton of people outside the place. Downstairs was closing up yet upstairs was still going full force. Maybe I'm missing something here? Regardless, we definitely had fun though and will probably return.

There's just something to be said about an establishment that keeps over 30 beers on tap. Even better, a restaurant that has amazing food and keep Newcastle on tap. I highly recommend the Chicken Alfredo. It's delicious. Plus, this particular Old Chicago is located in Hay Market, which is a pretty neat section of Lincoln.
