Went tonight with a large-ish group of 6. Service was good and fast considering the level of care & attention to the food. The wine came out promptly and was served well. The appetizers came out fairly shortly thereafter, and met expectations, which were fairly high based on the pictures I'd seen in a Journal Star piece. For entrees we had 3 different pizzas, a pasta dish and the salmon salad. The salad was good and fresh and well received by someone who only eats salads they've home grown. I had a chance to try the pasta, it was good but possibly nothing to write home about. The real show stealer was the pizzas, which are hands down the best Neapolitan style pizzas I've had in... decades. Quality of ingredients was top notch, the crust was perfectly done, and the sauces were an excellent balance between the toppings and the crust. I don't post many reviews here, even to places I love, but I felt compelled to give this place a glowing review because the food was just phenomenal.

The absolute WORST costumer service I have ever experienced. I have traveled world and never been treated so poorly. The older hostess is extremely unprofessional and rude. I would never recommend this restaurant to a friend or stranger. A horrible establishment.

My suggestion: keep working on the dough. Try wood fired pizza in other states and see how much better it is. Flavor and texture need improvement.

Great food, service and prices. The spaghetti bolognese was outstanding, as was the pizza, steak and everything else we ordered.

Omg this place is an absolute rip off fest. The pizza was an absolute insult to my pallet, they even ruined a perfectly good salad. This place tries so HARD to be something is not, trust me Im the king of lincoln, raised in a REAL STATE, in a REAL CITY, called Pompano beach, florida, a suburb of ft. Lauderdale, and i had food at pizza Hut that's better than this debauchery, don't believe the hype people. If you are going to eat here, just light your money on fire, you will get more pleasure out of that vs. eating this f**k fest. I ordered a simple Margherita pizza, it was soggy, flimsy, and the consistency was so off. I only ate it all because I don't waste food and I paid good money for this joke. I understand there's hungry people in the world and they would appreciate the food here. However, if you are going to open a business then at least serve food that doesn't pi*s people off. My wife and I asked about the business and the chef. It turns out homeboy was a sous chef at a bar and he was only promoted after the head chef became ill. God bless google. The food here is supposed to be homemade, homemade food is never this bad unless the person is just a bad cook. You have to be a real bad "chef" to make me write a review this long. The waitress was nice but very fake, no one is ever this extra perky. We asked about the menu and she sounded very rehearsed. My aim is not to tank the business but to get them to serve better food or hire a chef that doesn't suc* who can cook better food. One of my complaints is that yelp won't let me give zero stars.

Still a fan, just updating my review with more pictures and food reviews. We stopped at MoMo's late on a Sunday afternoon, close to 3 p.m. We had been working in the yard and made a trip to Menard's and while we looked acceptable (we cleaned up from yard clothes) we did get some funny looks. Remember this is a golf clothes is as casual as you should get kind of place. They served us no problem. I had been dying to get another taste of those lovely brussel sprouts and kalettes, so that was the first thing we ordered. This batch had fewer kalettes, more sprouts. It was still yummy BUT those crispy, melt in your mouth kalettes are my favorite and I would have liked to of had more. I was there with my brother and husband and we all were in the mood for very different things and all left full and pleased. I had the pie of the week, duck confit, with a white sauce, a very mild mozzarella and a peachy relish. I have to be honest I was kind of disappointed. The seasoning didn't seem even around the pie and had I of had some salt on the table, I probably would have given it a little sprinkle or two. There was flavor, the fatty duck and the peach, but nothing salty to balance it out. This could also be remedied with a better cheese too. The crust was yummy, as always. I love MoMo's pizza crust and creative toppings, just not sure this was the one for me. My husband had the steak arrabiata. This looked SOO good and he refused to let me try it. It included pan seared marinated sirloin, radiatori, cherry tomato, spicy marinara, leeks, romano and parsley. I'll have to try it sometime. My brother had the baked chicken cannelloni. This is a VERY cheesy dish. It was tasty, a bit too salty for my taste buds, but good. When I have pasta stuffed with deliciousness, I'm never a big fan of the ricotta goodies that fall out and you have to eat them sans noodle BUT this spinach ricotta mixture was very tasty and cheesy on its own. With an appetizer and three solid entrees we spent $60 (not including the tip) which for the quality of food, the good service, nice atmosphere, it's well worth it. I am still a MoMo fan and will return!

Went again for our fourth or fifth visit for my birthday recently. Pretty solid experience. Still wish the dough had more flavor but very much like everything else. Something that bugged me that night (and bugs me in other restaurants): Ordered drinks at the bar while we waited for a table. When our table was ready I asked to transfer the drinks. "We'd prefer you close your tab here, sir". And we know why of course: "I want to be tipped and I don't trust the server to tip me and therefore since we don't have a good system let's make it the customer's problem". Why can't restaurants figure this out? When I griped to the owner he shrugged and did an aw shucks excuse along the lines of "We're just a pizza joint". Bullshit. If I'm dropping $100 for 2 people it is not a 'pizza joint'.

My husband and I went here for Lincoln restaurant week. The food was absolutely amazing! and the customer service was fantastic! Even with 2 small kids, the staff was friendly and helpful and brought our food right way. Anything you order on the menu will be tasty. We will definitely be back!

My husband is from Gilbert Az, they have no short age of amazing restaurants. We have been looking for a good Italian restaurant in Lincoln. We found it, from the appetizers, main dishes, but the best was the tiramisu. If this place was in AZ, they would have a 2 hour wait!

I love their food when they get it right. But when they are busy, they don't get it right. And it's not okay. Everytime I've been here on a busy evening, the salmon gets overdone, the olives unevenly heated, and the service is apathetic. :(. It's a drag too because I really love their pizza. And the golden beet salad is still out of this world. Just go when it's not busy.

Fantastic! Brought a friend who wanted to dislike it. He didn't like the commercials and had a mindset that it would be a terrible experience. Instead he turned into a cheerleader! Praising the meal and the service. We will definitely be back again.

I really don't understand the hype with this place. First of all, the place is always crowded because it is not very big! Right when you walk in you practically run into the bar. The tables are all super close together, and honestly I've had better pizza at Little Caesar's and paid less than half for it. We went back a second time and tried their sandwiches and again, nothing special. I also had the carrot coriander soup and it made me want to vomit - very poor flavor. Both waitresses we had each time we went there seemed super rushed and unorganized. Doesn't put off a good vibe for customer service.

Zero stars. This place should not exist, but sadly it does. It preys on a small town and the lack of upscale feeling restaurants, especially on the south side of town, which I honestly believe is the nicer part of Lincoln. Having lived in places like NYC and Miami, I can tell you this is terrible food. This place wants to be a nice, modern, hip restaurant/bar. What it actually is though is an entirely different thing. It's pretentious and the service is downright rude, and condescending. The waitress went on for about 5 minutes in a very chipper tone. (read: memorized) Food was very overpriced for what it was. I will happily spend $100 for dinner at a nice restaurant. This place charges like a high end place and serves you cold, disgusting pizza with dough that tastes like vomit and servers with a stick up their butt. Even their salad was terrible, how hard is it to fuck up salad? Come on!

Stopped by for a light dinner on a Wednesday evening. Enjoyed some chorizo potatoes as an appetizer. I enjoyed them but my wife thought they were spicy. The sausage had a good flavor and the sour cream topping countered the spicy side. I would definitely order them again. We both had sandwiches and a glass of wine. She had the ham and cheese and I had the chicken. Excellent sandwiches! Great flavor all around. The cheese on the ham and cheese really added flavor to it. The sandwiches came with a side. A salad for my wife while I had the fruit. Both were great. The fruit was full of flavor and was ripe. Wine was the Seghesio Cab and Alamos Malbec. This was our third visit since they opened and we have never been disappointed.

Dropped a star from my previous review. We came early to avoid the rush--it was my wife's Birthday. Our server was never quite 'on'--a bit too hurried. Our second round of drinks took too long. We asked for only one egg on our favorite arugula prosciutto pizza. She told us they forgot in the kitchen--instead of saying they were getting it right she said, "is that OK?" We love the meatball appetizer but it was very salty tonight--too salty for me but some in our party said they were great--I'll defer to the majority. Our server never asked if we wanted dessert, after dinner drinks or coffee. That said, the tiramisu was excellent. We'll be back, but I'm hoping for better attention to detail and more focused service.

Momo's has hit their stride. Had my best meal ever -- trout with a pine nut stuffing topped with arugula and a lemon vinegarettee. The textures and flavors were out of this world! My husband enjoyed his porchetta wih potatoes and kale. Lilli's cocktail menu is one of the best in Lincoln. Creative takes on standards plus a few new infusions. Nice selection of wine and beer. I appreciate the friendliness of management and bartending team. Looking forward to a beer tasting meal on September 11!

We moved out here from CA, and I was excited to see an "upscale" restaurant going in near our house. What a joke. This place must think Nebraskans are stupid, or that they don't know a quality dining experience from a hole in the wall. Way too pretentious. WAY overpriced. I could have made better pasta at home from a box. Yuck. It had cool garage doors and a patio, so that is the only thing that saved it from a one-star review. Avoid.

This place was packed with people. Lincolnites love trying a new eatery. We tried the pizza. The crust was super chewy. The menu also had sandwiches and pastas. If we go back I will be trying something other than the pizza. Our service good; timely and friendly.

It is a touch pricy seeing as how one person can eat an entire pizza. It is a little loud and the dining experience is meant to be an experience, so expect to devote some time there. My favorite dishes are the Bianco Pizza, Grape and Gorgonzola Salad, and Tiramisu. I can literally eat the entire pizza in one sitting it's that good.

  • Todd S.

Brand new construction with impressive design elements featuring a wood-fired pizza oven as centerpiece. Large bar area with a good selection of beer, wine and well crafted cocktails. Delicious pizzas and I really like the concept of tapas style traditional Italian dishes (aside from Mac-n-cheese, I don't get how that fits in). The chicken sandwich was delicious. All-in-all a professional staff (front and back of house) serving up delicious food and really exciting to see this concept coming to this part of Lincoln. Looking forward to going back to try more of the menu.

We ate there Friday night with 8 of us and the experience was awesome again. The food is always fantastic and the service was good as well. This is a place that will become a Lincoln favorite.

I love this place! It was my 2nd time and had the same waiter both times. His name was Eric and he knew his menu. Great suggestions. The pizza was excellent, and the pricing is great! We shared the grape and Gorgonzola salad, two of the pizzas and the Cantaloni. The chef came to our table and offered us a great peach dessert with matzcapon cheese at no charge. We were thoroughly impressed. I think the pricining is in line for the type of food and I love that the owner walks around and talks to customers. This is a refreshing establishment and I will go back often! Only downfall...a little loud.

After seeing all the good reviews, I was kinda looking forward to going here... I was dissipointed. The place was clean and well put together. It kinda has a yuppy south Lincoln kinda feel. The food was mediocre at best. Pizza is pretty hard to screw up, but thet managed to do.. I ordered the plain hamburger, made no changes trusting the cook knows the best way to make his food. After an hour, and after our limp soggy, almost inedible "comped" salad for waiting... Pizza arived burnt (which I expect being a fire cooked pizza) but it was cold and soggy.. to me that means its been sitting a while. I complained to the waitress, this isnt good.. and she was like. Yeah weve been getting a lot of complaints about the hamburger... then walked off.. lol wtf. Wife said her food was decent but nothing special. Says it was on par with spagetti O's and stauffers lasagna. I gave an extra star for the good booze selection. Kept my favorite in stock, samuel smiths oatmeal stout. If you want pizza look elsewhere.

I really enjoyed my first visit! There was a 15 min wait for a table(not bad considering we had to park at the business next door since the lot was so full) so we decided to sit at the bar. I ordered a MoMo Mule. It was amazing! Definitely will get one again as it was very refreshing and I dare say it didn't even taste like there was alcohol in it. I knew there was about 15 min later! We got a Caesar salad and the Italian sausage pizza. Both were very well made and we didn't leave a crumb behind. The bartender was very helpful and even explained that they make their own sausage there. My husbands only complaint was that they don't have tap beer at all. According to him Blue Moon just tastes better from a tap. No worries for me as my drink was spectacular. I will absolutely go back again!

Despite a 45 minute wait for a table on a busy Friday night, we had a wonderful time and a great meal. Ordered the seafood soup that had some mysterious looking items in it that weren't identifiable as seafood and was different than the usual tomato based version. Not my fav, but the pizza was great. Just wish I tried more than one. Also had the Tiramisu for desert that had no espresso soaked lady fingers just a healthy portion of sweetened mascarpone. Bottom line- just stick to the pizza and you want be disappointed.

Got to say, love the atmosphere, wine selection, food, and friendly bar & wait staff. The host staff ( one young blonde lady in particular) should not be in a guest facing position. Had we not had an unpleasant first experience with her, I would have rated 5 stars. With that said, the remainder of the experience was very enjoyable. Kudos to the head greeter who knows how to provide customer service. Pizza, pasta, salads, and apps were amazing! Be sure to allow extra time to meet Lily at the bar, great suggestions and service. We'll be back for sure!

Excellent 'Neapolitan-style' pizza in the city. They use great tomatoes & mozzarella, and have a gas fired oven they cook them in. Although brick is best these are one of a kind in town and definitely worth a try!

Tried this place twice. Not very impressed. We asked for ginger beer and were brought 3 lukewarm bottle of it. I had to ask the waiter to bring us glasses with ice for it! We had the soup, a cherry pecan salad, margherita pizza, white bean dip, and spaghetti. All were pretty bland. The only thing we liked was the white bean dip. The salad was drenched in dressing, making it pretty unappealing. Also, the spaghetti came out nearly 15 minutes after everything else, and the waiter explained that the kitchen had some issues and there was "water everywhere" back there. Not great. To add to the blow, it was 80 bucks for lunch for 4 people. Ouch. Not worth the prices at all. We won't be back. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars instead of 1 is because the waiter was upbeat and friendly, and he gave someone at our table free dessert because we were celebrating a birthday. But that's just not enough to make up for the bland, overpriced food and serving issues.

Overall, this place was excellent. The food was great and the atmosphere was nice. It was really busy and there really wasn't a good place to sit or stand while we waited. Our server was a bit neglectful but that doesn't mean there aren't better ones there... The wonderful food was enough to keep me coming back for now.

We are new fans of Momo's. The food was magic. The Pizza Margherita is out of this world. We also ordered the olives and almonds (appetizer)....incredible. The house salad was absolutely delicious. My ONLY complaint was the first time we went there, I ordered the Naked Cappelini. It supposedly had olive oil, sea salt, basil and oregano, but I couldn't taste any of these ingredients. However, the pasta itself was magnificent. I took some home, dressed it up a little and it was great. The pizza is unlike anything you can find in Lincoln. This is real Italian cooking.

We tried MoMo for the first time after it had been open about 6 weeks. We loved everything about the experience - the food was stellar, the service fantastic, and the drinks were perfectly made. We had a beet and ricotta appetizer that was made with fresh homemade ricotta cheese. That was very good. We ordered two pizzas for two of us - a sausage and a margherita. Both were excellent. The homemade sauce on the margherita was one of the best pizza sauces I've ever had. My husband had the sausage pizza and really liked it. We were too full for dessert but we definitely want to try some of the desserts on another trip. I really don't understand some of the negative reviews I've read. I almost wonder if they went to the same restaurant we did, as we had decided we would be back soon before we were halfway done with our meal.

Excellent pizza and excellent service! The pepperoni melts in your mouth. Thick cut. Also, make sure you get the prosciutto and egg pizza. Delicious all around. Would definitely go back. Waiter comped us an appetizer because he wanted us to try it. Fresh ingredients.

Went there with some friends on a Wednesday night. Was rather busy but the acoustics are terrible. It was very loud and we could barely hear what anyone was saying. The pizza crust seemed tough and the service was not impressive.. It is a very clean and well decorated venue but sadly I will not return

My husband and I went to MoMos to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The manager stopped by our table & wished us a happy anniversary and brought us our drinks. Our waitress was awesome-she recommended the bread for a starter and was very friendly. She also brought us the best dessert! We had a great experience at MoMos!

This was an average restaurant. The decor was nice and it was very clean. We really liked the location. We had the meatball appetizer. It was good. For an entree we had the Egg and Prosciutto pizza. It was good but nothing special. Kinda hard to screw up pizza:). My husband had a bottled beer that was fine. I ordered a Sangria expected it to be delicious. It was described as house made with fresh fruit...yum right. Well it SUCKED. There was absolutely no fruit, had not fruit flavor and tasted like cheap red wine. I sent it back and order the Bellini. It also SUCKED. It was suppose to be peach, there was no peach flavor. It actually tasted like carbonated alcohol. I sent that back and settled for water:). Also must add that for not being a huge place there were a number of what we believe were the family of the owner wandering around a lot. Seemed to be hovering around a lot...kind of annoying. Especially when none of them filled our water. Prices were pretty good:)

This restaurant has a very upscale feel. The first thing you see when you walk in the door is the pizza oven and the pizzas within, which definitely increases the appeal of getting a pizza. Service was friendly and quick. We ordered 2 pizzas and were served in about 20 minutes. The Margherita pizza was decent, but the rosemary chicken pizza was superb. Looking forward to trying more of their pizzas. They have a very good wine selection.

We ate at MoMo's last Friday evening and had a good experience. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait and actually got called in less than 20. Between three appetizers and two pizzas we had plenty to eat for 3 people. The waiter was very nice and efficient and made several suggestions on what we might enjoy. Not a huge total bill for what we got including two drinks and two desserts. We will definitely go back. **Tonight I was on my own for dinner so looked on-line to see about take out. It said yes but when I called they said no. How hard is it to put a pizza in a cardboard take home box? Very disappointed!!!

NOT KID FRIENDLY and SLOW!!!! I went here for lunch with my mom and 2 kids. We got a table right away which is great, but one of the high hairs that they brought had a broken strap, and they did not offer another chair (they must only have 2 for the whole restaurant). I asked if they had any juice as my kids don't drink pop, I was told they had none...which I have no idea how this is when they have a full service bar...I asked and the waitress said all of their drinks were pre made. So we got milk which is fine (actually what I asked for first but she must not have heard me over the noisy environment). My mom and I got water right away while we had to wait 10 min for the kids drinks. We then waited about another 15 to order, and another 30 to get out food. We got the pepperoni pizza and the 4 cheese sandwich. Pizza was subpar, crust was chewy, top was greasy and the 4 cheese sandwich was pretty much just a mozzarella grilled cheese couldn't taste the other 3 cheeses in it. Sad to say that to get a good wood fired pizza you have to go to a place connected to a gas station....blue mountain pizza puts this place to shame.

Excellent food, and I like that we could dine outside in a non-smoking space (so many outside patios seem to invite smokers since the restaurants are non-smoking). The chicken sandwich was excellent as was the tiramisu and there was a good selection of wines both by the bottle and by the glass. My dining partner had the bianco pizza, which she wasn't overly crazy about (she liked my sandwich better :). A couple criticisms... there is no menu available online, so we took a chance deciding to eat there (I think they are working on their website). It worked out well, as there was a good selection. Also, there is no take-out menu available (our server said they aren't even doing take-out), which is disappointing as it's nice to be able to pick up food from your favorite place when you have young children and don't always have the time to go in and dine (a to-go parking space, or curb side pickup would be better yet ;). All in all, a good restaurant that I will probably return to.

It is good to see an alternative to the conventional heavy-as-lead pizza that calls Lincoln home. I hope this place grows with the times and from feedback it receives. This past Friday evening the thin crust rosemary chicken and egg & prosciutto pizzas were adequate, but they are not yet enough to warrant a return trip for the following. The cheese was bland and character-less. The arugula had no bite and had little flavor. The eggs were also bland and pale yellow (sure sign of factory production). The wait staff sung the praises of the pasta and esp. the cannelloni then proceeded to tell us that they were, darn, all out of the cannelloni. I asked and it appears that none of the ingredients on the pizzas were locally sourced. I was told that the mozzarella was Roseli, part of a large food service conglomerate. This is mass produced cheese. All this suggests that none of the ingredients are locally sourced at this restaurant, hardly "slow food", contrary to what was reported in the Lincoln Journal Star Ground Zero (the food reviewer simply took the owner's word for it). Is this too much to expect from a modern eatery? I am appealing to the owner here: prove it, just don't say it, that you actually use locally sourced ingredients. Local animal, dairy and produce are all available in this area. List all the locally producers you use. Dante's in Omaha, which has the best pizza in the state, does this. This will get me to come back. Service was a bit scattered, but this always smooths out if a restaurant is committed to growing and serving its customers. Pricing is more than acceptable.

I had a friend visiting from Dallas and wanted to take her somewhere hip and local. I'd been wanting to try MoMo since it opened and so I was hoping this would be the perfect lunch spot for us. I chose poorly. Upon entering, we were greeted from behind the bar by a woman who I assume was the manager. She was obviously annoyed that there wasn't a host there to seat us IMMEDIATELY. (I can wait a whole 12 seconds before being seated lady, chill out!) As the host/server who had been tending to other guests walked us to our booth, she was trying to tell him something, but he was too busy doing his job and engaging us in some funny banter to hear her. I however, did hear her snark "He's not even listening to me!" I guess this was probably the point in our dining adventure that I realized I was NOT going to have an amazing experience. We were seated at a booth by the window and were only the second set of guests in the dining room. (It was a Sunday afternoon, long after the lunch rush... if they get one) MoMo is a beautiful space, inside and out, and VERY clean. This will probably be the only compliment you read for the rest of the review. The decor is chic and contemporary... but the music was tired and dated. Mariah Carey from the 90's, hits from 2011, a Whitney Houston remix. It does nothing for the ambiance. Our server promptly came to take our drink order as we perused the menu. I was getting very excited about all of their wood fired pizzas, my friend was having a really hard time deciding between all of the pastas. The menu looked delectable. She returned with our iced teas that tasted like they came from a fountain rather than being fresh brewed. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, but ended up having the personality of the soggy napkin under my Dirty Sock iced tea.She told us about the pizza of the day which had catfish and water chestnuts on it (interesting!) but I already had my heart set on the Rosemary Chicken Pizza. It is made with white sauce, cedar plank chicken, rosemary, garlic confit, marinated tomatoes and provolone. My friend ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese made with beef, veal and pancetta. The food came out in a timely manner, however our Dity Socks were completely empty- and there were still only two tables in the restaurant. My pizza was so disappointing. I was expecting the crust to be thinner and crispier. Instead, it was tough, bland and chewy. I think they might have forgotten the confit, because there was no trace of garlic whatsoever. There was only ONE chunk of chicken on each piece of pizza. I had to scrape all of the tomatoes off because they were bland and mushy. The Bolognese sauce on the pasta was absolutely delicious, but the noodles were almost too al dente. As we finished our extremely mediocre lunch, a party of four was seated RIGHT NEXT TO US. There's an entire empty restaurant, why are we sitting on top of each other??? While the server was getting our check, the Obviously Annoyed Manager came by and was obviously annoyed that there were dishes on our table and asked if our server was taking are of us. Then, obviously annoyed, whisked the plates away and went and chastised her for leaving plates on the table. Sheesh. If she wanted to yell at someone so badly, take it out on the bartender who played on his phone the whole time rather than take the initiative to help out his colleague by pouring us some more Dirty Sock tea. As we left, Worthless Bartender was complaining to someone on the kitchen staff about how slow it is on Sundays and threw in an F-bomb to make the statement more colorful. Real professional... Disappointing and a waste of $20.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì.
