I loooove ice cream. I judge how much I like a city by how good their ice cream is. And thanks to Ivanna Cone, I really do love Lincoln. : ) They always have the craziest flavors and the coolest decor. As a person whose favorite ice cream flavor is vanilla, I've been forcing myself to try all the different flavors that they offer -- my first time here, I got mango saffron, which I wasn't a fan of and left a sour taste (literally) in my mouth. But all the other times I've come, getting creamy flavors is usually a sure bet that it'll be delicious. From sweet corn to banana split, they've all been great and the service is ususally pretty stellar. They let you have samples of their flavors to ensure you'll be spending your $4 wisely -- treat yo'self to the waffle cones! They are delicious. All in all, would definitely recommend this place.

I can now say that I've had Sweet Corn ice cream. When in Nebraska, right? This has the reputation of being the best ice cream in Lincoln, and it delivered. I just got Chocolate Banana, but the options ranged from basic strawberry to raspberry pancake. I would love to try them all! The corn flavor was good :) The cash-only thing is kind of annoying, as is parking. I think it's worth it though!

Hands down my favorite little ice cream place. I was charmed the previous night when I walked by and smelled deliciousness, curious I came back the following afternoon. I am so happy I did! What I smelled you ask? Homemade waffle cones. They're kind of fragile as you eat them but oh my! I wasn't very adventurous and settled on the vanilla ice milk. Everything about it was perfect. Consistency and taste exceeded my expectations. The inside is very whimsical with various play items to keep you and the little ones entertained too.

I've lived here for more than 7 years and FINALLY came to Ivanna Cone. Very unLincoln like of me, I know, and I apologize. I didn't know what I was missing. This is such a treat. The sweet smell of vanilla, the vintage feel, the excellent customer service (they offer free samples and my server was very upbeat and patient) and the awesome ice cream. Ummm, do this please. It's specialty so not the cheapest (AND ONLY ACCEPT CASH OR CHECK) but if you're having dinner in the Haymarket, consider skipping dessert and make your way here. I had a scoop of Dutch Chocolate (yes, yes, YES I highly recommend this one) and the white chocolate mint (even had little white chocolate chips. It was good, fresh and light, especially if you're in a mint kind of mood). I like ice cream but if I have a choice in desserts, ice cream is not likely my top choice. However, when I do eat ice cream I want something good, Ivanna Cone (and Zesto, love Zesto) are great options. The ice cream is nice and thick, but melts quickly when you're outside people watching. I'll be back!

I get so excited when ice cream shops feature a vegan flavor and this place had TWO! The vegan oatmeal raisin was spot on! So creamy and delicious. What a gem!

I've been in here a few times since moving to Lincoln and have yet to be disappointed. They have some amazing ice cream flavors that change frequently. Last weekend when we were in there my friend ordered this bright green lucky charms ice cream and loved it. They specify gluten free and vegan ice creams and there are usually several options. Naturally you have to order it in a dish and stay away from their amazing homemade waffle cones. You can also get tastings of any flavors you're pondering, and the people who work there have always been friendly and patient. Price is reasonable and the shop itself has cute decorations and places to sit. Only problem is they are cash only so don't forget to bring some!

Wow. This isn't you're standard ice cream place. With unique flavors, David Bowie playing and free condoms on the counter it stood out from your average ice cream shop right away. I had a cone with chocolate and breakfast of champions. SUPER DELICIOUS! Weeks after going in I still can't stop thinking about it. Breakfast of champions was some of the best I've ever had. Yum. Ivanna lot more ice cream.

The ice cream here is great. I love fresh made ice cream. The cinnamon flavor was awesome. If ever in Lincoln again I will definitely want to come back to Ivanna Cone.

I love to support local businesses like this!!! They are a place I have been coming since I was a kid!! The flavors here are made right in store. You can see where they are making the ice cream which is really cool!!! They are amazing. The fruit flavors actually have pieces of fruit! And then their seasonal flavors are amazing!!! Love the waffle comes but I have to put it in a dish cause it melts faster than I can eat. No brain freeze on thus good stuff! The main complaints are parking, it's cash only, and there are no places to sit during busier times. But overall I love ivanna cone! It is an awesome local artsy place with great ice cream!!

Pretty solid local spot. A little pricey in my opinion, but it's tasty. If you're in the Lincoln Haymarket and are craving some ice cream this is your place. One scoop is usually enough, especially if you're getting a cone. This is the only place in town that I have found cinnamon ice cream (my favorite flavor), but unfortunately they have a rotating menu so they don't have it all the time. They have some funky flavors sometimes, so be careful if you're picky.

CASH ONLY!! I always thought Ivanna Cone was the best homemade ice cream, but now that I've grown up a bit more and traveled/lived elsewhere, I have to say it's good, it's unique, and its dependable- but perhaps not the best thing ever (Although I would solidly agree with it being one of the best in Lincoln). A few critiques on the ice cream from my last visit: fresh strawberry. The taste was good, but subtle. I think I would have liked more of that strawberry flavor and chunks of fruit, I dont think my single scoop cone had any fruit in it. The texture was soft, as I know many homemade-with-real-cream can be, but I think it would have been better a bit more frozen and hard. As soon as I walked into the sunshine to enjoy it, it was running down my fingers. One shouldnt be limited to eating the icecream inside the AC. Despite my few recommendations, Ivanna Cone is in a prime location in the Haymarket for date nights, college and high school kids, and families out for a dinner or lunch. It fits the ambience of the Haymarket and I love that they make it from scratch. I would still come here over any chain ice cream because I value the homemade standard and the hard work of a small business. They do have some unique flavors too.

Get a waffle cone Dutch chocolate, cookie dough. Two scoops is more fun. Haiku review.

First of all, I understand that credit card processing costs money, but consumers today aren't carrying much cash anymore. It's more of a service/convenience for buyers. If it wasn't for your horrible customer service, I wouldn't have thought this was a big deal, but now I can't help but think it's because you don't care about your customers convenience and purchasing behavior. The customer service: A gal working in there asked the line to move down in a manner equivalent to corralling cattle. She was super annoyed that we could be all so stupid. I only wanted 1 scoop of ice cream but wanted to combine two flavors (something I'm allowed to do at other shops). The young man helping me (who was nice btw) told me they don't do that. Fine. But then another lady working there told me that "physics didn't allow them to do that, but maybe someday." Again, I'm super dumb. Lastly, I got cookies and cream and there was barely any cookie. I'll give 2 stars because my daughter liked the vegan chocolate chip cookie.

Great place in the Haymarket. The flavors are creative and interesting. Downsides: the price is a bit high & they only take cash.

Hands down the best ice cream ever. Homemade ice cream everyday. Fabulous flavors. Every time I'm in town I come!!!

  • Luice T.

Got a scoop of the Peanut Butter Banana. Delicious! Great texture, almost chewy. When you lift your spoon a trail of ice cream follows. For fun I tried the Cucumber Dill Chevre. Ew! It tasted like cucumber and dill (and had cucumber bits) but it was sweet! Kind of wished it tasted like goat cheese, a savory ice cream would be a novel idea. The store has lots of personality. Cash and check only. Was in the area visiting friends, not a native of Nebraska. Tried the Dairy Store on the same visit, Ivanna Cone is definitely better.

  • Beca H.

Not sure if they offer samples but they should, because they have such complicated flavors combos. I was like I don't know if any of these sound good......... So I happen to pick watermelon bubblegum flavor thinking it would be sweet! Oh how I was wrong. It was tart and very interesting. Since bis I tasted the bubblegum first other bites I treated watermelon. But with EVERY bite I tasted artificial sour flavor like you would with a door apple jolly rancher. Definitely need to offer your customers an option to try the flavor. And also very little ice cream for price! So overall, OVERPRICED and COMPLICATED flavor combinations.

  • Bob M.

This is a really great ice cream place. They do a lot of interesting flavors and the price is really cheap. They serve homemade waffle cones which are great. I had the Amaretto Sour which was obviously really good. The only criticism I have is the scoop sizes are a little small.

  • Heather A.

Love love love love this place! Bring cash because they don't accept cards. Their ice cream is fresh and very homemade. You have to try their homemade waffle cones. To die for!

  • Marwan O.

Very good ice cream but terrible customer service. I was there last night standing in line but one of the employees came saying that we will not be able to serve everyone we have 15min to close! I have never heard that and it is really terrible to not server people who are already in line! I think this was unacceptable to ask people to leave without being served! . I was very disappointed because I was in Lincoln for only 3 days and tried their ice cream the first night and it was awesome but was disappointed when I was not able to try it again.

  • Annemarie K.

Ridiculously overpriced for a mediocre product. They may have fun experimental flavors, but the consistency is bordering on state fair "home made" ice milk. All of our cones, different flavors, had CHUNKS of ice in them. The staff didn't seem to want to hear about it, nor did they seem to really want to work for their paycheck. They seem to be thriving on the haymarket unique-ness, and upscale industrial hipster shoppers. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

  • Lindsey B.

This is one of my favorite ice cream places in the world and definitely my favorite in Lincoln. The flavors change daily so there is always something new to try. My favorite flavors are the Dutch chocolate and pb&j.

Thank you yelp for leading me to Ivanna come ... Was in Lincoln for a few days to catch a huskers game and wound up coming here twice for ice cream. Funky cool atmosphere, friendly efficient service and unusual flavored like strawberry Twinkie shortcake and malted banana brownie. Super creamy full of flavor. A bit expensive but greatest stuff in life usually is. Go and enjoy!

  • Kayla W.

I love Ivanna Cone. The prices seem a bit high but one scoop is usually enough for me to feel like I've had a nice treat. I love trying all the new flavors although the fresh strawberry and the cinnamon really are standouts. It's fun to watch the waffle cones being made, but I've only tried them once or twice. Beware -- cash only! And they like it if you pay in groups. I've had a few times where the employee was a bit disgruntled that we all paid separately. Great atmosphere and a fun date, although it can get really busy especially when it's hot outside.

Love the concept of independent, hand made ice cream parlor. Location is really cute. The ice cream is better than average but not spectacular. Good creative favors for the most part. That said, there is a line between hipster and obnoxious that this place crosses. I have been a couple of times and its just grates on my nerves more each time. I doubt I will go back.

Was excited to try this creamery as many had commented on how good it was. The store is located in the Haymarket area of Lincoln, NE inside of a remodeled old warehouse type building. Ambience is old ice cream shop, small but "cute". The old style 5 gal salt/ice ice cream churns are right at the entrance of the shop and fun to see. Looks like a majority of their product is made in these two machines. Ice cream is served out of case freezers so you do not see any of the product. Samples can be had. They have around 17 flavors when we were there. I sampled a caramelized onion cheese cake and must say it had a conflict in my brain, since savory in ice cream is not expected. The onion flavor was strong and stayed with you even after the small bite I had. Think it would be good on a waffle with maple syrup, but as a stand alone not as much. We ended up trying the vanilla, red velvet bean, strawberry and a Santa land dairy, which had peppermint candy in it. The strawberry was good, with a very fresh flavor and very small bits of fruit, a recommend flavor. The Santa was tasty with nice small notes of peppermint and some candy crunch. The vanilla was more of a sweet cream than a true vanilla, it needed a little more vanilla punch to it. The red velvet was pretty bland and tasted like a cake was added and became kind of mushy. Not sure why the beans, as no real added flavor or texture benefit to the ice cream. The ice cream is made with 14% butter fat dairy ice cream base which when made in a slow churn makes an almost gooey type product. It will leave a fat film on your mouth that may or may not be a turn off for some. The ice cream is very dense as not much air is incorporated into the ice cream. I would have preferred more air which would have given it a softer feel. Over all in small amounts I would recommend. I would not buy more than one scoop as it will fill you up and the fat will sit in your stomach. The only real drawback is that it did not come across as refreshing, more of a rich creamy dessert.

Location is cute and their ice cream is hand made. I really enjoyed their variety of flavors including soy and vegan ice creams. The flavor I had wasn't that impressive. Service was excellent. Great little date place.

Great ice cream parlor in the Haymarket. They occasionally have a flavor that just doesn't work, but I commend them for being inventive.

    (4)
  • Christopher S.

A Waffle scent will grab you and pull you in the front door to a variety of wonderful and inventive flavors of ice cream AND vegan ice cream! Craziness! This is where you hit dessert after a bite in Haymarket! The waffle cone alone is divine. A nice touch to the downtown Haymarket area!

I only need to say two words about this place Go Here! The flavors are always fun and yummy. The only downside is that you have to pay by cash or check.

Great ice cream and a huge selection of unique and delicious flavors! Ice cream prices are very reasonable! Will definitely continue to visit!! Lines are usually out the door, and the parking/location is not ideal but...

I felt like I was in Williamsburg or some other hipster part of Brooklyn. The place was cute and the ice cream was the BOMB! I had the lavender honey butter ice cream with the hand made waffle cone. It was so exquisite and the homemade waffle cone was the best waffle cone I have ever had. I tasted a few of the other flavors and was also impressed. It is definitely a unique ice cream parlor, as they don't offer many of the traditional flavors that other ice cream joints offer. I would give this place 4.5 stars for the product and 3 stars for the service. It took forever to get the ice cream and the people working there had a slight attitude in dealing with their day's last customers, which I completely understand, but still find it worth mentioning. I just hope that they continuing offer this solid product and find service that matches the ice cream's quality! I would def go back.

Cash only!!! Great ice cream...always a treat. It gets busy in the evenings and you may have to sit outside to eat...but I"m always game for outdoor eating! I'm a cheap-o so I think it's a little high for ice cream, but it's definitely worth it.

So amazingly delicious, but then again when you're making your own ice cream how could it not be fantastic. The smell itself walking into the store alone is 5 stars.

This is a cute ice cream shop in the Haymarket area. The boy and I walked over here before a movie a couple weeks ago. Food: I had the toasted coconut and coffee flavors in a cup. He had the dutch chocolate. My flavors were, overall, a little too sweet for me. I still enjoyed it though. I mean, who doesn't like ice cream. I liked the boy's dutch chocolate better (classic order-envy). I think the chocolate balanced the sweetness. Overall Experience: Loved the local feel. Will be coming back when I'm in the Haymarket area and have a sweet tooth. I'll probably get the dutch chocolate!

As far as an "ice cream experience" goes, this seems to be as good as any. The service was good. Our server tried to be as friendly as he could to my nephew but it still seemed a little like trying too hard. The ice cream was tasty. The coconut ginger was yummy and the chocolate espresso was very good too. Overall, I think I respect a place like this more than a "FANCY" ice cream shop where your 2 dips total $7. This has a college feel about it which is nice. I'm sorry I can't give more than 3 stars. I'm not that into ice cream and I feel like I'm very lenient in my star giving so it's possible that this is just a casualty of too many 4 and 5 star reviews. Or, it could just be a very mediocre college town ice cream place.

    (3)
  • Emily C.

It depends on which flavors they're currently offering, but it's pretty good. It's not as great as everyone says, but it's definitely better than any other ice cream I've found in Lincoln. It was a different texture than most ice cream, which was a little off-putting at first. It smells heavenly in the whole first floor of the building.

I LOVE Ivanna Cone. I grew up eating Ivanna Cone ice cream and one thing has remained constantly amazing about this place, their cinnamon ice cream. The perfect amount of cinnamon flavor is in this ice cream and has become my internal standard for all other cinnamon ice creams I have tasted. This ice cream shop has transformed over the years and although their flavors can be a bit odd at times, reminiscent of Salt and Straw flavors of ice cream in Portland, OR, they always have a great variety of flavors that will satisfy anyone in the Haymarket area. They also have the best homemade waffle cones. I also appreciate the generous amounts of ice cream with each scope. They definitely give you the most for your money!

I was extremely dismayed at the performance of the Vegan Pumkin Pie ice cream today. While the ingredients led me to think that it would be stellar, it is an utter failure. It had a freezer burnt look and even taste. A bad aftertaste is still on the tongue a half hour later. I had high hopes for this style. I won't go back again. this is not Ted and Wally's in Omaha, but the staff must think it is.Cash or check only? Really? In today's market, not taking cards is a no win situation. I had to pay the extra fee on the generic ATM and get my frozen item in a plastic boat. Can't do a waffle cone because the flavor is too solid? It is the single worst flavor I have had. I would say that the Ice Milk at the local buffet or school is better.

    (1)
  • Dani W.

Good ice cream and cones. I had the coffee ice cream in a cake cone and it was good. Family members had dutch chocolate in waffle cones and they clearly made the better decision! I know what I'll get when I go back. The service was prompt and pleasant. The decor is not my style and the place might be trying to hard to be hipster. Also a touch on the pricey side.

Dude what? Specialty ice cream in nebraska? I was just passing through but I decided to stop by and I was charmed by the Old Haymarket but I wasn't so charmed by this ice cream place. First of all yes its icy. The cream part is a little lacking because there are microcrystals of icy scattered throughout my flavors. I got the spicy mayan (cinnamon, chocolate, and cayenne) which was decent enough and then just some regular strawberry but after paying 5 dollars of my hard earned cash I felt like something was missing... Sure the store front is cute and probably unique in this particular setting but the actual quality of the ice cream is suspect. That being said I'm an outsider so perhaps the locals think more highly of this joint. I'd probably be more satisfied with a dollar cone from McD's. Sad.

I recently moved to Lincoln and have only been here two time. Needless to say, I am in love with this place. They're the go-to place for delicious ice cream.

  • Katina T.

This is easily my favorite place in all of Lincoln and also the reason I'm not ten pounds lighter. The ice cream is flawless. Perfect density. Intriguing flavors. And a creaminess that can't be matched. Their waffle cones have a subtle honey flavor that I just can't quit. Not to mention, the staff is incredibly cool and always friendly. The dutch chocolate is a must. And I can never pass up Ivanna Cone's cookies and cream. It's seriously like no other. Snicker Doodle, Caramel Oreo, Nutter Butter...seriously, GO!

Solid ice cream. Plenty of flavors, and pretty much all of them are delicious. Good prices, too.

Homemade ice cream in an interesting building with dragon mascots on their signs? Yeah, sign me up for that. I had the cardamom lime sherbet (I think because I was still dreaming about going to The Oven). One scoop, in a dish, nothing fancy, but it was definitely a winner. Just the refreshment I needed for an after dinner treat on what turned out to be a hot humid day. As the sun started going down, we sat in the shade outside and watched the Haymarket foot traffic. Doesn't really get any better in Lincoln than that.

Looking for ice cream in Lincoln? Stop looking, Ivanna Cone is your only stop located in the Haymarket. They make their own ice cream, with new flavors all the time. Fresh waffle cones fill the hallway and waft out into the streets. Ivanna Cone's colorful shop matches the numerous flavors they serve up in a dish. Ivanna Cone makes adults turn into kids again. I am a chocolate lover, but with all that they have to offer, I find myself trying something new, not chocolate, to see what I am missing out on. Ivanna Cone also makes sweet and tasty shakes, sundaes, mixed dishes and everything else you can put into a cone. Yum yum yum... Cold Stone Creamery, you're just a big bully, move over, Ivanna Cone is not giving you a penny of their lunch money.

  • Elaina M.

I am a big fan of Ivanna Cone! They have vegan ice cream that is DE-LI-CIOUS! I had the banana biscotti vegan ice cream and I was in heaven. I'm lactose intolerant and haven't had ice cream in ages!! While my cone was the larger size, it was a little pricy--but still so creamy and satisfying. Plus, the inside of the creamery building smells like ice cream all over--who doesn't love that?

  • Emily H.

Maybe I'm disappointed because this place was so hyped-up before I even tried it. I'm not about to complain about ice cream but this kind was sort of.. sticky? It tasted pretty homespun to me. I wanted to find the flavor satisfying but I just didn't. The workers were kind of unfriendly too.. one worker seemed really offended and surprised when us 5 girls didn't pay together. Since when do girl-friends pay together? Speaking of paying.. Ivanna Cone needs to work on having prices displayed more prominently. Price is probably the largest factor when considering what to order but there was no signage so I had to waste a worker's time by asking. Also.. no plastic - cash only? Not cool.

I somehow let delicious Ivanna Cone slip through the cracks in Yelp Land. I LOVE THIS PLACE. This ice cream is unique, handmade, creamy, thick, innovative, pretty, and absolutely friggin' DELICIOUS. They really think outside of the box with a lot of their rotating flavors, but you can always count on their delicious dutch chocolate and vanilla if you feel like stickin' to the basics. The waffle cones are to die for, and you can smell them as soon as you walk into the building. I work in the Haymarket, and whenever I'm having a stressful day or need a sugar pick me up I get a waffle cone for lunch. It's perfect food therapy especially on a hot day. The atmosphere in here is youthful, fun, and funky. I love it. The walls are painted bright colors, and all of their signage appears to be hand done by creative staff members. Also, they play amazing music in here! Kudos to the staff for having such eclectic and awesome taste in music. Also, on the subject of staff, they are great! Always happy, smiling, and willing to dole out the samples of their delicious flavors, even when the line extends out the door. They do an excellent job. Things to know: In the evenings (especially in warm weather) they are BUSY. Expect to wait in line, but trust me! It's soooo worth it. They do not accept any plastic, so bring your check book or stop by the ATM(there's one in the same building). They also have a hard time breaking big bills, so try and come in with 1's and 5's if you can. There's not a lot of room inside Ivanna Cone, but there are plenty of benches and other places to perch outside in the Haymarket.

First of all, I am a non-Lincoln native. I came to Ivanna Cone with a lady friend of mine and we both left very satisfied. I had the Caramel pecan on a waffle cone and I believe she had strawberry on a sugar cone. I tasted hers and both were very superb. I have grown tired of the recent Fro-Yo fad and the rise of the Coldstone type ice cream joints. I just want simple, delicious ice cream and Ivanna Cone definitely satisfies my needs. Ivanna Cone is legit. Thumbs up!!

#214 It's a cute little place to drop by and pick up some ice cream. Their flavors are pretty standard, with the occasional sherbert thrown in to mix things up. I ordered the Dutch Chocolate which was rich and creamy, with plenty of sugar in it. Now, I'm not a fan of eating anything too sweet, but on this particular day it went down just fine. As for the decor, the place is super girly - there was too much pink all over the place. Regardless, the 6 of us had a nice respite in our afternoon by dropping by.

Second visit to this place. One of the best home made ice cream in the area! A must stop if your in the area.

Ivanna cone not only serves delicious ice cream - it serves some of the most creative flavors of ice cream. Last night, I sampled the white chocolate cayenne. Starts out as a good white chocolate ice cream, and then the pepper kicks in. Really amazing culinary experience. Even if you plan on sticking to the tried-and-true Dutch Chocolate or Vanilla, be sure to be adventurous and ask for just a taste of one of the crazy flavors on the menu. An ice cream parlor has never been so exciting. :-) I always opt for the smaller-than-small size because portions are very large! Sundaes and milkshakes are also super tasty. I need to try the ice cream soda again - it was awful many years ago, but they might have figured it out (I haven't found *any* ice cream shop in Nebraska that makes ice cream sodas correctly). Other pluses: fresh, homemade waffle cones, candy mix-ins if you want them, gorgeous antique soda fountain counter, and a play area for the kids with high-quality toys. And it's very, very affordable! Much cheaper than you would have guessed. What keeps it from being five stars: Traffic flow from the door to the counter and out again is abysmal, but it's an old building, so that probably can't be helped. Tables aren't cleaned very often except by patrons, especially when it's busy. Bring cash - they don't take debit cards at all. Oh, and be wary of the play area, because some people let their kids go over there with sticky fingers -- gross! One last thing, the texture of this ice cream is different. It's almost...well, stretchy. I'm a bit of a purist, so it took some time for me to get used to it, but the flavor makes up for that in my mind.

  • Alex Y.

This place is conveniently next to Indigo Bridge. The flavors are all listed on the chalkboard behind the counter. I sampled the Rose Baclava and Hazelnut Latte. I ended up getting the Rose Baclava because the Hazelnut ended up only tasting like coffee. The baclava was a bit overpowering, but overall it was delicious. The ice cream itself (minus baclava) was great! It is more dense than most ice creams I've had. The flavors are diverse, ranging from the quirky to the familiar. Only one (mildly neurotic) gripe -- the ice creams aren't visible (as they're covered with metal caps).

Old fashioned, hand cranked, home made on site ice cream with freshly made waffle cones and real ice cream sodas. Fan-freaking-tastic.

This place hands down is AMAZING! I never tasted ice cream from scratch that has as much flavor as Ivanna Cone. I had the Dutch Chocolate and the regular vanilla. My wife had the pumpkin praline and the chocolate raspberry. My dog had the ice vanilla which is easier of their stomach according to our server...she was right! We all love it! Don't miss out if you're in Lincoln! GBR!

Ivanna Cone is far & away the BEST ice cream shop I have ever eaten at! You can't beat their creative homemade flavors of ice cream. Their employees are always a joy to be around & seem to genuinely love their job. Even my 4 yr old son says, "Dad, Ivanna Cone has the best ice cream in the whole wide world." No joke. Try it! You definitely won't be disappointed.

LOVE THE CONE! Seriously this place is great, and worth driving (and parking) in the Haymarket for. This place has character and charm, Lincoln needs more places like this and less of the corporate eateries. Last time I got the Red Velvet Cake Ice Cream and the Porter Chocolate. Good eats right there. Chunks of homemade cake gave great texture, and the beer in the chocolate was just a perfect but of flavor at the end. Not only is there wonderful ice cream but the doodle book at the front of the counter is a favorite. Draw your own personal masterpiece, then go to the back and look through all past masterpieces. Overall Ivanna Cone is an awesome Lincoln business, so Go out eat some ice cream and support Local Business!

This place is awesome, too bad it's an hour away from Omaha. They have a variety of flavors of which I had pistachio and fresh strawberry. Fresh strawberry tasted like strawberry milkshake and the pistachio was great too! This place is highly recommended, although the smell of the waffle cone smells better than it tastes.

Good concept, good effort, but I wasn't wowed. I tried a few flavors and settled on the Guinness Gingerbread. It was too soft for my liking, too sweet (I still can't believe I think something is too sweet) and had some ice crystals throughout. It's still a decent bet if you are in the Haymarket and need a scoop. Support the local biz that is doing something unique and don't overthink the ice cream. I didn't have a cone, but their waffle cones are homemade and looked great.

Great place for ice cream. Tastes so fresh and authentic. I love chocolate and the dutch chocolate was terrific. There are some unique flavors also and it always changes throughout the day.

I've never had ice cream this good. these milk comes from the gods own herd of cattle. these udders are blessed by yahweh, i mean, to taste this good, there has to be something like that going on here. I can't wait to have some again!

Chocolate Beet Ice cream, yes BEET. And it was delicious! Asked for a taste of the choc beet before deciding. Was given a large spoonful of dutch chocolate and the choc beet to compare. Very happy to have gone with the chocolate beet. Creamy and you never would have known it was made with beets unless you were told. Hubbie had the strawberry and announced it wonderful. Ice cream made right there by knowledgeable staff willing to talk shop with you. Seemed to be the place for seniors, hipsters and families alike. Highly recommend it! CASH or check only! No credit cards.

Came here while in NE visiting family and I definitely agree it's some of the best ice cream we've had.

Very yummy ice cream, lots of varieties, freshly made, and you can find all this inside a cute, colorful building, in a historical area in Lincoln.

I was REALLY craving a strawberry milkshake and some friends we were visiting in Lincoln said that this was THE ice cream spot in town, so I was excited to go last week. Unfortunately, the experience was less than ideal. First, the line was excruciatingly long and they only had two girls behind the counter. One of them was just filthy and gross- her hair looked dirty and unwashed and she was just soooo slloooow...She waited on this guy forever and was unfocused- kept focusing on a dog barking out in the mall and making comments about it. Really? I bet the dog was cleaner than you are! The other girl waited on me and she was very nice and very quick. A small milkshake is $5 and honestly, I didn't feel that it was anything special. She said they used vanilla ice cream with strawberry syrup- they didn't have strawberry ice cream at all. In fact, there was a paucity of fruit flavors and I didn't have the impression that they use natural ingredients (one flavor was electric blue colored). The shake wasn't very thick and they didn't use whipped cream. I think if I were to ever go here again, I would stick to their listed flavors and just get a cone. They don't really know how to do shakes and the prices are pretty high for the lack of quality. It is in a cute location but they don't take plastic, which is ridiculous in 2012.

I don't think I can add much more than the previous 30 reviewers. I can only say that I love love love love this place. I'm a girl of variety and their daily changing flavors keep me on my toes. I know I will bring every single person who visits me to this ice cream shop. Mmmmmmm yummmm!

Just walking inside Ivanna Cone makes me instantly happy. The colorful decor and the fact that it's all homemade make for a guaranteed good time. I love how the flavors constantly change and everything I've had here is delicious. Hands down, the best ice cream ever!!! The flavors they come up with are so unique and always yummy. Of all their flavors, Birthday Cake ice cream is TO DIE FOR. I've even gone to the lengths of specially requesting this flavor so I can buy it by the gallon. It's THAT good. Above all, the staff is always helpful... letting me sample as many as I want. Everyone is nice and I've never had a bad experience here. I am very loyal to Ivanna Cone and once you try it, you will be to! Plus, it's location can't be beat. After dinner downtown, I'm usually at Ivanna Cone for dessert. Keep in mind, it's cash only!

good ice cream but i never feel like the servers are very nice. people serving ice cream should be nice it really takes away from the experience when their not. You should take debit cards and charge me the extra quarter to cover the cost, its 2012. I have skipped going here several times because i didnt have cash with me.

It's OK. The ice cream has its own unique taste and texture, which, when taken objectively, isn't really light-years above or below any other ice cream. The service can be curt and the seating, as with many ice-cream joints, is limited so it's best to take your cone or dish and go. I carry cash along with plastic so the whole no-plastic thing doesn't bother me too much. But because they only take cash (or at least that's how it was the last time I was there), it slows the line and gives them another opportunity to scowl when people inevitably can't produce exact change. I dunno -- the place gets a fair amount of local hype because it's an independent ice creamery, and so it's a destination for those bohemian types who are on the hunt for authenticity. And that independent status is also a source of forgiveness from that clientele despite the place's uneven service and product. These days, I'm afraid, when someone suggests we go to Ivanna Cone, the first word that comes to my mind is "tedious." Which why we go there less and less, unfortunately.

This is some high quality hand crafted ice cream, and it is delicious. If you count calories and/or weigh yourself regularly, I don't think this place is for you. They use HEAVY cream here, that's why it tastes so good and is so terrible for your health. But who cares? Weren't fat and sugar meant to be together in a harmonious fruitful frozen flavorful relationship? The flavors constantly change, and that was always part of the excitement of stopping by - I never knew what I was going to get. Over the years I have acquired some favorites like salted caramel and pistachio, but I never shy away from trying something new here. Even if it sounds repulsive when you read it on the board (chocolate beet, REALLY?!), I have yet to be turned off by a flavor. Of course they will let you sample anything you want, but please keep this to a minimum - don't be one of those sample abusers that everyone wants to punch in the face. Unfortunately I can not give this place five stars that the ice cream deserves, and this is mainly due to the fact that they only accept cash, the prices are insanely high, and the employees can be quite snarly and rude at times. Be sure to try a waffle cone - they make them right there and it's usually the first thing you will smell when you walk in.

Great local homemade ice cream. It's cash only...no biggie. They always have a decent selection of flavors, but I wish they would push the envelope a bit and try some funky stuff. Ever had Guiness flavored ice cream? Its great! If you aren familiar with Omaha, this place is very much like Ted and Wally's, just less risqué.

as many of the others have said, this place is getting some stars for the ice cream (which is great), but the servers here leave something to be desired in terms of friendliness and there's always a long wait.

Very good ice cream! Definitely some interesting flavors (Apricot Poppyseed, etc) but I liked the Dutch Chocolate best. Annoyingly, they don't take credit cards, so stop at an ATM before you go.

Good ice cream and it vibes well with the other businesses in the Creamery Building. They don't accept debit or credit card so be sure to have cash handy if you come.

I'm writing this from my i-Phone as I walk back to Nebraska from Massachusetts for another waffle cone. The ice cream is custardy and super rich, but not overly so. The waffle cone alone is worth the pain I'll be in in 2.5 weeks when I reach the store. The cone is just a super flattened version of the best waffle in the world, with some bits crispy and some lucky bits still fluffy around the edges. I don't even like waffles! This is insanity! Worth it though, completely worth it. Oh, and it's cheap. I ordered a cone the size of my skull and it was under $3.

It's been a few years since I last was here, but I still think of this place a few times a week. The best ice cream cone in my life I had here...it was a flavor of the month and it was...ta-dum CORNBREAD ICE CREAM. It sounds terrible, but let me tell you do not be put off...it was one of the most delicious things I've ever ate. Nice big chunks of cornbread and substantial amounts of honey flavored this ice cream. I hope next time I'm home they will have brought it out of retirement...

I travelled 1000 miles round-trip for this ice cream! Well, actually...I was going to Lincoln anyway...but I had heard rave reviews from some clients of mine that are NE natives. Wasn't disappointed!!! Ivanna's is a fun little ice cream parlor(complete with malts, phosphates, and sundaes) in the Haymarket District. I only wish I hadn't eaten such a big dinner, cause I totally wanted to try ALL the flavors! I went with one scoop of Egg Nog, and one of Vanilla Ice Milk. Both were delicious! So super creamy and flavor full. Makes me sad not to have such a fabulous shop that makes ice cream in-house in my own 'hood. *sniffle sniffle*

This is the best ice cream in Lincoln, all freshly made. The ice cream shop is painted in bright colors like a dreamy child's room, and the ice cream flavors are really creative. I loved the Balsamic Strawberry. The tough part is choosing a flavor... You can never go wrong with the Dutch Chocolate, but their creativity makes you want to try all of them (which most people working there get annoyed with). I'd say try to limit your samples to two, if you can...

The best ice cream ever. period. I have never had anything close to this place. I have driven 50 miles just to get this stuff. It also has a cool location inside a building in the Haymarket.

The name alone is worth checking this place out, but so is all the homemade ice cream. They make it right there, you can see the machine and the barrels filled with milk and sugar right next to the serving counter. The staff were very helpful; they waiting on me and my girlfriend for quite some time, walking us through a number of flavors, even though they were clearly cleaning up to leave. Almost makes me want to drive back to Lincoln, almost.

If you're looking for a delicious ice cream treat in Lincoln, this is the only place that I've found that satisfies every time. In fact, there is a distinct lack of ice cream shops in Lincoln, but Ivanna Cone not only fill that void, but makes it delicious as well. The flavors change regularly, so every trip is different! In the fall, I suggest anything with pumpkin in it :)

Unbelievable. Simply incredible homemade ice cream. Homemade waffle cones made right in front of you! I'm not very adventurous when it comes to ice cream, so I stuck to the sweet cream vanilla and the dutch chocolate. The vanilla was good, but the chocolate stole the show - rich, thick, creamy, just spectacular. I'm sad that there isn't a place like this in my town. It is probably for the best, though, because I would be there constantly.
