Value: 4 stars Service: 5 stars Food: 5 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Considering what quality (fresh/organic) you get the prices are not that bad. Breads and salad were damn delicious.

This was a wonderful lunch stop. I opted for a create-your-salad and loved it.. I'm excited to go back for soup and sandwiches too. The only negatives are the somewhat clunky ordering system and price.

Seemingly hard to find a salad place for dinner, this looked like my best option for a fresh take-out option. Lots of choices to create your own salad, 3 cups greens and 5 toppings for $8 or 4 cups greens for $10. Your choice is created and the people working there were very friendly. Based upon another review mentioning skimp portions, I asked for more onions and she obliged. Other items were portioned just fine. The balsamic vinegarette was a bit thick so some extra olive oil was requested without an issue either. Healthier drink options would be nice. Who really wants to drink a dr. pepper with their salad???? Maybe the clientele are mainly under the age of 22....? How about some freshly squeezed juices? Or cold pressed juices to sell? Parking available on the side streets. Ps- where are the healthy veggie places to eat in town? Does a juice bar exist??

Seven bucks for a regular salad, and barely any toppings in there. You get 5 toppings but only a scant spoonful of each ingredient. Not worth it, go to Whole Foods and get a pound of salad for same price.

Both the salad and soup were delicious and the service was excellent. If I lived in Lincoln this might be my favorite spot for a fast and healthful meal. I made my own salad with spring mix and kale and various veggies. All of the ingredients were incredibly fresh and flavorful. I chose the miso dressing, which was so good and perfectly tossed with my salad. The roasted red pepper soup was delicious.

This place is always amazing. The food is great and the service is wonderful. I've been going for lunch the past couple of years and the owner always remembers my name and my order even when I haven't been for a few months. Definitely worth a visit!!

My first time at Grateful Greens was excellent. I sat down inside the door and waited for a friend before going up and ordering at the counter. While I was sitting down, the man at the counter asked me if I would like anything to drink. He was extremely friendly! I ended up ordering the chicken medley salad. It was absolutely excellent! Probably the best salad I have ever had. With a La Croix, the total came to about $11. So it was a little pricey, but the quality of the food made it worth it. They make the salads right in front of you. If I had the money, I would eat there every week. Definitely going to go there again.

I LOVE Grateful Greens! I go here every week and it is always a treat. Everything is always so fresh and delicious. I am a vegetarian so it is so refreshing to go somewhere that has so many awesome options for me. They have a lot of really great soups and sandwiches in edition to the salads too. The staff is always amazing. They are very attentive and just fun to be around! You can tell they really care about the business and about giving great service. It is a great local place. Definitely recommend.

Got a Groupon type deal for this place for cheap so I thought it was worth a shot. I had heard from others that it can be pricey. I ordered a "regular" sized taco salad for $7.99, and it was more than I could eat. That doesn't seem pricey to me, considering the other restaurants that are downtown. Not to mention all the ingredients were FRESH. The lady was cutting up the veggies as she was putting them in my salad. I was also VERY impressed with their staff. Will definitely go back and try some of their non-salad options too.

We got the 1/2 Reuben panini and the whole Caribbean pulled pork panini along with small bowls of the savory white bean and chipotle black bean soups. Everything tasted great! Their prices are outrageous though. $25 for what we ordered plus 2 bottles of beer The half sandwich was literally a half of a normal sandwich for $5 and the whole sandwich was a small 8" sub for $8. The small soups were in bowls smaller than tea cups for $2.50 each. Service was good and super friendly. Not sure if we'll go back.

Pros: The mushroom brie soup is a home-run! Delicious! The salad was good, very fresh and miso salad dressing was yummy. And like others have said, the owner is super nice. Cons: Pricey! My soup and salad (and water) lunch was $12.39. At those prices, seems like they might be excluding the college crowd and plain ole' working folks downtown. I was only allowed 3 ingredients on my salad, so it was bit boring. Additional ingredients are .69 each. My suggestion is that they be a little more generous with the less expensive topping such as carrots, onion and celery, and then upcharge for the more exotic toppings. Also they do not offer ice. I think fresh brewed iced tea/coffee seems like a natural with salad. Finally the restaurant is clean, but the atmosphere is rather ho-hum. Wouldn't take much to jazz it up a bit. Also, I asked for a menu so that we would not have to stand in front of the counter "taking up space" while we tried to decided what to order. I hoped that we could have a seat and look over the menu, but none was available. An order form as suggested by someone else would be good. Overall I liked the place, enjoyed my lunch and would frequent it if it was a little more budget friendly.

This place is a breath of fresh air amidst the greasy spoons on 'O' St. The owner was working when I went in (right at closing time) and he graciously stayed open for me to eat! Insane amount of options, and their homemade dressings are delicious. Will be going back!!

This is a great option for me when I'm trying to eat clean & I'm sick of cooking at home. Fresh ingredients and lots of choices, including arugula (hooray!) You get a choice of crackers or a baguette as a side. Their soup looked really good - I think there was a mushroom & brie available?? They have a lot of different beers available, plus some other bottled drinks. It's a little on the expensive side: 69¢ for each ingredient you add to your salad; $2 for a portion cup of hummus & 2 large crackers. PROS: - Fresh ingredients - Lots of choices for greens, toppings, and dressings - Healthy option (Lincoln can always use more veg. choices) - Friendly staff - Local CONS: - No soda fountain! I wanted a giant Diet Coke, so we had to go through a drive-thru AFTER leaving Grateful Greens. - I didn't see any to-go bags or disposable forks. Not sure if this is to save money or to be eco-friendly, but I had a little balancing act with my salad, crackers and hummus on the way back to the car. - And this: I have a suggestion for the ordering system: With so many ingredients to choose from, if it's not going to be a self-serve salad bar, you should either A) Provide diners with "order forms" similar to Highnooners (or Brownbaggers fax order), where customers can simply check off the ingredients they want in their salad, or B) Lower the glass by about a foot (or whatever you can change that still meets code) so people can order their salad Subway-style, picking ingredients as they move down the line. When I ordered, a woman behind the counter wrote what I wanted on a sticky note, which was given to another person standing next to her who made the salad. A third person asked me how much dressing I wanted, and I repeated my side order of hummus & a drink to a fourth person behind the register. All of the staff were very courteous - I just think there's gotta be a more efficient way to take orders. My favorite salad place in Lincoln is still Hy-Vee, but I'll be back to Grateful Greens to try another salad and one of their soups.

Grateful Greens is a welcome addition to downtown Lincoln dining. It's refreshing to have another option besides sandwiches/burritos/gyros/pizza. Upsides: every salad ingredient you can imagine under one roof. Build-your-own, or pick from a pre-made menu. (Cobb/Ceasar/Asian Chicken etc.) High-quality ingredients, some organic. Owner is really nice. Salads are great. Downsides: Kind of expensive. Can take a while to get food (especially if there are indecisive people in front of you). Bottom line: if you're looking for a healthy option for lunch downtown, are willing to pay a little more for it and aren't in a huge hurry then Grateful Greens is an excellent choice.

Living in San Francisco, it's easy to find healthy options...so stumbling onto this place was such a treat! The food is super fresh with tons of options. I try to eat "clean' healthy greens while traveling as it's often difficult when dining out in Lincoln. I love Lincoln, just want something more than iceberg lettuce when dining out. I got the "small" salad but portions are HUGE at Grateful Greens. Lincoln needs more independently owned restaurants. STOP supporting big chains only Lincoln Friends! Omaha has soo many independently owned restaurants that are thriving. It's sad to come back to Lincoln and see all the Chains doing so well and the independent owners struggling to stay open.

This place is fantastic! Blown away about how many options they had to top a salad. And they came over to our table and custom mixed the dressing. I don't like to eat salads every day, but when I do have a craving for one, I go here. Of course they don't only have salads, but that is what I get there :)

Best idea EVER for a downtown Lincoln restaurant. Great salads and wraps, super selection of toppings. I only wish I could get a traditional soft drink with it, but that won't keep me away.
