Every city and town needs an old-fashioned, fresh, made-to-order burger joint and in Lincoln, this is ours! The prices are a little high especially for someone as stingy on spending money as I am, but even I can set that aside for the mouth-watering food that you get when you pay for it. The burgers are F-R-E-S-H. Growing up in Nebraska if I wanted a quick yet fresh burger I naturally would go to Runza. But that place has nothing on Five Guys for burgers. They are endlessly juicy and everything blends together perfectly to give it a knocked-out-of-the-ballpark taste. As for the fries, I don't get why I keep seeing the word soggy as I read other reviews.. They are anything but. They are made to order then given right to you. I've kept the food in the bag, driven all the way home, then eaten my food & the fries were still fine. I don't know what you all are doing to your fries but they're crispy, crunchy, and perfect when they come from the kitchen. The only drawback I could possibly think of is the price, otherwise this place earns its 5 star review in my book. I'll keep coming back!

Great burgers, great fries. One of my favorite places to grab lunch. You will get more fries than you could possibly eat! My boys love the shakes.

Good burgers and the side of fries is huge, enough to split among 2 or 3 people. Their a little slow in making your food but it's made fresh so that's a plus. They have free peanuts to snack on while you wait which is a nice bonus for any restaurant. They also have a nice selection of burger toppings but I would like a few more unique items to make it even better.

Came here for lunch today. Forgot how HUGE their servings are. My husband, 2 year old son and I all shared the regular sized fry and had leftovers!

Five Guys is kinda like the chain version of this place ( youtube.com/watch?v=Y1tF… ). Think classic greasy diner burger place, but now cleaned up and mainstream. The burgers are delicious, the fries are great, and you can have all the peanuts you want. For those of you who complain about soggy fries... you must be getting your order to go and they sit in the bag for 15-20min before you get to them. FYI any fast food fries will be soggy by the time you get home. duh My only complaint: I wish they were open late!

Yes, the prices are a little high, but you get a @#$% ton of food for your money. I think I got the regular cheeseburger, and that thing was fricking huge. They also give you a fat sack of fries, which is great. And it's all pretty good.

The burger was a 5 but the fries were a 1. First the burger. Very thick, juicy, well cooked and seasoned to perfection. The fries were under cooked and so salty I thought my lips were going to pop after eating about a dozen of them. My suggestion, get the fries unsalted and do the job yourself. Also, if you like them crispy, let them know.

Personally, some of the best burgers in town. Great service, and good food quality!! Although I was a little disappointed by the fries, and the prices are a little high but the burgers are worth it.

This place needs a serious update on it's food, There is so many other places that kill this place in quality. Why can't they get a better bun? It's a stale hamburger bun you get from the grocery store, the cheap kind. Yuk! So you get a trash-bag full of fries! Who needs that many fries? This place won't last, Zagat's list? Gee, did Zagat's try Crave, or Honest Abe's or Nitro-burger? Or Stella's? Even Red Robin is better, There is SO many other better choices. McDonald's has better burger this place. Sorry....But it's true.

My buddy and I planned to eat lunch at Chipotle. But they were packed with a line out the door. So we walked a block away and stepped into Five Guys. Plenty of room! That should have been our first clue. We ordered the standard burger and fries. We had both been here once before. What we got for lunch today was significantly poorer in taste and quality than what we've had before. The fries were the biggest disappointment. Limp, lukewarm, soggy. Not anything like fresh cut fries should taste. These were really sorry fries. So know we know why the place was almost empty at 12:15 lunch in Downtown Lincoln on a Wednesday

The only reason I am reviewing is due to the plethora of bad reviews. I really dig places that focus on doing one thing extremely well. Five Guys does just that. The two main themes in the rants here are: 1. the burgers are not big; 2. the fries suck. 1. The burgers are not an inch thick, correct. But really, who wants to eat an inch thick burger anyhow? I am part of the" thin burgers, thick steak" party. If it is over 1/2 inch thick, it better not be ground up before I get to it because I want it in steak, not burger form. The single fills me up every time once loaded it up with all of the FREE toppings (seriously, anything they have, even grilled onions). If not, you can always throw another patty on. 2. The fries are freaking great. No, really. They are real potatoes, cut and double fried just like the fancy places do. ( belgianfries.com/bfblog/… ) Also, the small order is enough to feed at least two or three hungry folks. Since the fries are going to be piping hot when you get them, first thing to do when sitting down at your table is to lay the bag down and rip the top open lengthwise. The steam needs to get out or you will have the dreaded floppy fry. Eating in, I have never had the flop issue. In fact, the fries when fresh have a great crunch. So, I encourage you to give it a try, slap on another patty if you are a "big burger' person, and eat the fries there rather then taking them to go. Enjoy!

I am not a hamburger person and rarely eat them, but I really love the burgers here. They have a GREAT selection of toppings and the burgers come to you fresh and hot. And did I mention they are BIG!!! They also have great fries!

I finally decided to try Five Guys, and I have to say-not good. Maybe it's a classic case of over-hype, I've had some friends say how AMAZING their burgers are. This is not what I found at all. I'll start with the positives. The service was very friendly. The folks working behind the counter were very nice and seemed to be having fun and enjoying their work environment. The ordering process was very smooth and they helped us out along the way. These are made to order burgers, so you can get whatever toppings you'd like on them. I went with my boyfriend and we each got bacon cheeseburgers and decided to split an order of fries. We drank water and our total was just shy of 16 bucks (with a tip). I already thought this was pretty pricey for an order at the counter, seemingly fast food burger. This had better be a damn good burger, I thought. AND....it wasn't. It wasn't terrible. I'd certainly choose this over Burger King, McD's, Wendy's etc, but I would have paid less AND we each would have had fries and a soda as well. The patties were decent quality beef, but no seasoning or anything else to make them special. I could have grilled up way better at home. The fries were alright. They tasted like fresh potatoes, but were a bit soggy and limp for my taste. I like my fries crispy. Bottom line: these burgers are not bad, but certainly not worth the price. I pay around the same for burgers and fries for two people at Lazlo's, The Watering Hole or Tam O'Shanter's.

Great burgers and fresh fries, my favourite place for burgers.

This place won't be here long. There is nothing special about their burgers at all. The patties are less than 1/4 lb each and yet you still have to pay around $6 just for a double with cheese, and that is before fries and a drink! Not only that, the burgers are unseasoned and bland tasting. Just plain old beef on a plain old bun! That might be acceptable in Baltimore (where it hilariously receieved an award for being the restaurant with the best value!), but here in Nebraska we already know what good beef tastes like. It is nice that the toppings are free, but considering the price of the burger, I am not impressed at all. Nothing special about the toppings either, only ones that caught my eye were grilled onions and mushrooms. If I am going to pay this ungodly price, I expect a bigger burger with a bigger bun and room for more toppings (and sliced onions, not diced). The fries here are absolutely disgusting. They are the soggiest greasiest fries I have ever received. It's almost as if the oil was at 200 degrees. Not only that, the small order was so huge I could not even attempt to finish half of it. And I have never spent $3 for an order of fries at a restaurant. Maybe at the airport or at a ball game, but come on guys, get real. And why serve so many fries?! Nobody can finish that, and if they can, they will probably die before 40. Most disturbing part of my visit: there were 11 employees "working" at one time. If you need that many people to cook burgers and fries (at a place with no drive-thru), then something is wrong. The place was not even busy. No wonder the food is so over-priced! Avoid this place like the plague, you can get a much better burger elsewhere for cheaper.

I ordered the Little Bacon Burger. I like the choice of toppings and ordered nearly everything except for the mayo. The people serving me were very nice and the woman expounded on the greatness of the Applewood-smoked bacon they use. Well, fast forward to getting my burgers and fries home, I realize that Five Guys had committed a cardinal sin -- LEAVING THE BACON OFF MY BURGER! I was pretty pissed off about that. Why are the fries soggy??? The flavor was good but they were soggy, which is not the way I like my fries. Overall, it was messy but tasty. But compared to my other burger haunts that serve beer, it's a bit weak. If you want a delicious burger AND fries for $5, check out the burger special at Green Gateau on Wednesday nights. Service really needs to improve as well. The girl at the cash register really didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. I don't care if you're new, running a cash register is not rocket science.

Huge, huge portions. I have a bad habit of always finishing the food on my plate - even if I'm full. My dad & I visited Five Guys for lunch and could not finish a "small" order of fries between the two of us. The burgers & fries measured up to the hype. They tasted great & kept me so full I didn't eat dinner that night. A little expensive for fast food, but they don't charge for toppings, & as I mentioned - big portions. It's a busy, loud atmosphere, so if noise or saturated fat is a deal-breaker, steer clear. Another note: When we walked in, the line was wrapped around the walls to the front door, but we still didn't wait more than 5-6 minutes to get up to the counter, and that was only their second day open.

Gotta say... I am impressed. Being from Cali, I love me some In-N-Out, but 5 Guys definitely holds their own. I still choose In-N-Out over 5 Guys, but props to 5 Guys for the BACON option. And their fries are really good too.

Pretty good burgers. Not the best but for fast food definitely on the high end. I like lots of toppings on burgers and they have a ton of toppings that can come with it for free. I dig the free peanuts in the shell while you wait. I also like generous portion of fries.

5 Guys is great. Anybody who says the fries are bad is either a competitor, related to a competitor or simply unaware of what fry made from real potatoes tastes like because they've been brainwashed by the fast food industry. The burgers are outstanding. If you want an inch thick burger, get double the meat. They're made fresh and the service is fantastic. Prices? They're slightly above fast food, but the quality is way better.
