The atmosphere was great and it is similar to Lazlo's but a little more upscale. They offer a variety of steaks, sandwiches, burgers, salads and a few other entrees. The beer was good. I had a burger and it was good but not great. It fell apart and made it very difficult to eat. The baked potato and corn bread were great. My girlfriend had the barbecue brisket. It was tender and pretty good in her opinion. They offer large servings so you'll have plenty to eat. I'd recommend.

We tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago during our trip out to the area. We were with a group of 8 most of whom had been there at least once. The decor was nice and more of a smoekhouse type of feel. The service was very good. I had the Roasted Chicken Penang. This was a different twist on one the rotisserie chicken offerings. it was smothered in a sweet and spicy Thai curry sauce, with fresh basil and crushed peanuts and it came witha choice of two sides. It was very good and all of the listed flavors came through but none were overpwering and it was not spicy hot to me. I had mine with a loaded baked potato and clow slaw both of which were very good especially the slaw. Everyone else in the party went for burgers or salads. The comments were all posative and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. If you are looking for a casual and inexpensive night out this is a good place with a large menu so everyone should be able to find something good to eat. I would come back and explore some of the steak and other items as for me there are many appealing choices.

One of my favorite restaurants in Lincoln. The service is great and never had a problem with it when I'm there. If you ever order the Caesar salad, I suggest asking for the dressing on the side. They really drench the salad with the dressing and it makes it overpowering to eat. (For me at least) I had the chicken enchiladas with lime rice and roasted red potatoes to replace the pinto beans. The enchiladas had a nice kick to it because of the drizzle of bbq sauce on top. Overall, I recommend this place for a try!

We've been once so far and it didn't start off the best because nobody greeted us at the table for at least 10 minutes. I got up and let the host know and within seconds someone was at the table, so no big deal. The food was pretty good too. I had the vegetarian burger and although it sort of fell apart under the pressure of squeezing the bun, it was pretty good. The kids all really liked their food as well and toward the end of the meal the manager came out and told us it was on them since we had to wait for service. Did not see that coming. So for that reason, we will for sure be back. They really took care of us - overdid it even - and the food was good too.

The fish tacos my husband had were very flavorful, spicy just right. My brisket was so tender and not fatty. The mac and cheese so creamy. And the wedge salad so fresh.

My wife and I come here often and enjoy the food, atmosphere, and service. They have the same owners as Lazlo's so they understand what people want and that is consistency on their entrees and they achieve that and then some. We also do take out quite often and it is always done right. Their pizzas are some of the best in the city and they vary the menu so there is always something different to choose from on this end.

A reliable standard for us and I should have reviewed before. We've been probably 8 times in the last 2 years. Very dependable. Solid service. Food is good to very good. The rotisserie chicken dishes (especially the panang) are so good I'm now stuck and never order anything else. And I *never* order chicken in restaurants. Kids like it, wine choices are okay (and all drinks are probably too expensive by a click) and it's close to home. Underrated pizzas.

Fireworks has a great ambiance and is generally less busy than its cousin Lazlos (owned by the same people and have a very similar menu.) I always get the Thai Chicken pizza (without the chicken of course) and it is simply delicious. They can be vegetarian friendly with most of their dishes if you ask, but aren't good about substituting other items and don't have tofu. For example I always take off the meat, but they don't have anything that I can put on instead and they charge me the same. The location is out of the way from most of the main drags, but if you have time to drive a little, it is worth a stop in.

I was very disappointed in this place. Maybe my expectations were too high as it looks nice on the outside. The inside just looks like a room with some booths, tables and chairs. There is no ambiance. It is a no frills place I guess. The same goes for the food. I ordered the special which you would think might have a nice presentation but it was a piece of Mahi Mahi ( very fishy smelling) with a blob of mashed potatoes plopped next to it. No color to the plate at all! The theme in this place seems to be beige when it comes to atmosphere and presentation. I had a Caesar salad to start and it tasted like they squeezed lemon juice all over it. I was there with my parents and they were not impressed either. The only good thing I can say about it is the server was very nice and brought things out in a timely matter. I will NOT be going back and neither will they.

The food was very average here and I'm being kind. Where is that wood cooked flavor? Where is any flavor? Service wasn't great considering the restaurant was basically empty.

Oh man this place is sooo good!! I had the chicken panang with steamed broccoli and coleslaw. Lemme tell ya, that coleslaw is AMAZING!!!!! The chicken was wonderful as well as the broccoli. That said, we had the crab cakes for an appetizer and was not disappointed but the quality doesn't properly reflect the price. My gf had the chicken salad sandwich with the smashed potatoes and again a high five for the sides!!! Those smashes potatoes were excellent. All and all I will come back and recommend to friends!!!

A friend suggested we go here as it is close to his work. I had never been since I no longer live in the area. We went at 11:30 on a work day and it was pretty dead. Service was good and friendly. I ordered the brisket sandwich and didn't expect much, but it was quit good and the server brought out three different BBQ sauces to try. All were good. I was very happy with the food and experience.

I'm really sad that I have to put a bad review but the dinner my husband and I had at Fireworks was not as good as I expected. I've heard this place is good and pricey so we went here for our anniversary dinner early on a Sunday afternoon in order to beat the crowd. I ordered the rotisserie prime rib with gorgonzola cauliflower soup, broccoli and macaroni and cheese. My husband had the New York strip, smashed potatoes and almond rice. I ordered my prime rib rare and expected it to be as such, but it wasn't. It was more like medium. But that I can look over, what I can't look over is flavor or lack thereof. To me prime rib is easy to cut, buttery smooth with a nice flavor or juiciness. That's why I paid $18 for it! Not this one. It was tough and very bland. I moved on to the macaroni and cheese, which my waitress said was to die for. It too was disappointing. My husband peered over and said, does that have cheese on it? Umm, if you dig maybe. I've ordered the broccoli a lot at their sister restaurant, Lazlo's, and it's slightly crunchy with great garlic buttery flavor. This was like flash blanched, too crunchy and I couldn't taste butter or garlic. The best part of my meal was the gorgonzola cauliflower soup. It was hot, creamy, cheesy and even more tasty when I crumbled up some of the complimentary cornbread in it. I'll have that again! My husband on the other hand said his food was good. The steak was well seasoned, cooked to his liking. He liked the smashed potatoes but wasn't a big fan of the almond rice as he prefers his rice plain. We live pretty close to Fireworks so I'll probably give it another try sometime. But the first impression was NOT impressive!

Have been here a few times. I find the atmosphere okay. The food is a little hit and miss. For some reason our service has always been lacking. I see other servers that seem good, so I guess I'll conclude that is hit or miss also. I have not seen a manager, so I'm betting that's the problem. I know you are probably thinking that maybe I'm the problem with the service, but that can't be because I'm very charming.

We went for a family dinner on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great and service was good. However, they had no buns. On a Saturday night. We were given our sandwiches on white sandwich bread. Our meals were lukewarm at best, and our Mac and cheese (which was supposed to be one of there signature items) was cool and had unmelted shredded cheddar on top. I had the rotisserie chicken, which was pretty good, but no one else had a good time. Probably won't be recommending as a place to go in Lincoln.

Great food--I had the Baja burger and asiago dip... excellent food and service. The real jalapeno in the sauce for the burger was perfect. It was busy and we had a large party and service and food were still exemplary.

I've only been to Fireworks once, but it was an very good experience. We had a lunch party of 10+ and were easily accommodated. The service was fast and friendly, and all of our food came out in good time. Having the Empyrean beers is a good thing, too. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and makes a good impression with a classy, though comfortable and casual feel. You'll fit in whether you're wearing jeans and a t-shirt or office clothing, and I think this would be a good place for a business lunch or dinner where you don't want something truly upscale and classy. The have a couple private dining rooms you can reserve for events, with one that can seat over 40 people. As for the food, the Rotisserie Chicken was tender, moist, and delicious. It had an obvious wood fired flavor that added a lot, and was seasoned properly. The salt was easily detectable in the flavor, but it wasn't too much and really helped bring out the wood fired taste. Though I didn't order this dish, I mooched a little and would have no problem ordering it in the future. To my surprise, the Philly Cheese Steak was equally good (very often at places like this, the chicken and full steak dishes are highlights while the sandwiches really suffer). It consisted of real, thinly sliced steak of good quality along with sauteed onions and peppers, pepper-jack cheese, and some kind of delicious cheese sauce. The balance of cheese to other ingredients was spot on, and the lightly toasted hoagie kept the very moist sandwich from soaking it completely through. It was fantastic, and just thinking about it makes me want to go back for another. I tried two sides, with one of them being a cup of their Prime Rib Soup. It sounded good, looked better when it came, and tasted even better when I dug in. This was easily one of the best side soups I've had in a long time, and a person could make a meal out of the larger bowl. The prime rib and potatoes were excellent and so tender, and the rest of the mushroom and vegetable ingredients added their own flavors for a pleasing mix. The broth was amazing, bursting with flavor, and contained just the right amount of salt. The other side I tried was the Cheese and Macaroni, and while it was good, it couldn't quite hang with the rest of the food I tasted. Don't get me wrong, the Cheese and Macaroni is better here than you're going to find in most places. It had a nice crust on top, with a pleasant, though mild, cheesy flavor and good seasoning. The macaroni was cooked properly. Overall it was good, but not as delicious or bursting with flavor as the soup. Still, I'd order it again if in the mood. You're looking at somewhere between $10 and $15 for most dishes, which gets you a decent portion of food. It's not fantastic value for money in terms of only portion size, but you're getting high quality, great tasting food in a reasonably sized meal. With everything taken into account, this was a five star experience. Sure, it's not upper tier fine dining, but you're also not paying those kinds of prices. I'm already looking forward to my next visit, which I think says it all.

Fireworks is one of my favorite restaurants in Lincoln. Their burgers are always good. They have some good salads and thin crust pizzas. Their empyrean ales beer is great. The service is usually really good. We eat here very often.

We met family here on Saturday night around 6:30, reservations for our party of 6 were prompt and we were seated in short order. The area was loud and conversation nearly impossible without shouting in this area. Our server had to shout the daily specials and we all ended up ordering from the menu. The 3 Top Sirloins among us met with overall approval. I had the half rack of Baby Back and they were barely acceptable, dry, minimal smoke flavor, but with a bunch of BBQ sauce to cover the meat I choked most of them down. The 2 glasses of milk we asked to be served with the meal never arrived. Overall it was a completely forgettable meal for more money than it was worth.

It's an okay place. I can never remember what I had the last time, which tells you that the food is just decent. They do have great desserts. Last time we went, though, I didn't feel great afterwards. I figured it was just a coincidence, but then after I ate my leftovers I didn't feel so hot again. We'll probably wait a while before going back again.

Have been a fan of Fireworks for years. I have really appreciated the "fire" in the food to accompany the variety of handcrafted ales that are offered. The consistency of quality is what brings me to Fireworks time and time again. They have excellent quality of beef from their burgers to their steaks. Seafood is fresh! Atmosphere is relaxing with dark but warm colors in a simple modern decor. Comfort is found in sturdy stools, chairs and booths, plus stonework adds to this feeling. The wait staff is friendly but keeps a distance so the diner is the focus. Keep in mind that there is happy hour from 3-7 with appetizers and drink specials. Wine by the bottle is less on Tuesdays.

The place is amazing everyone should defiantly eat there at some point amazing Philly cheese steak , great service , amazing atmosphere . Definitely recommend going there . Macaroni and cheese impeccable . Great place to be when Huskers play!

Fireworks was pretty good, ate there last night, the pork tacos were excellent my wife had a Tuscan Chicken that was fair at best. My wife had a "disco lemonade" wow was that nasty, chunks of smashed raspberry and mint leaves among other things, drink this with you teeth clinched to filter out the crap. Overall a decent place to eat, We'll be back.

Not great. Burger place trying too hard to be more than it is. Not impressed. Felt suckered by the hype. FYI there is no "fresh crab" as described on the menu. Crab dip appetizer = crab ravioli filling. Sad menu. Read it for a while. Sad.

Like Lazlo's, they have the full range of the Empyrean beers, which go down smoothly below their rich high vaulted ceilings. Our server was a real gunslinger with the refills, which was nice that we didn't have to ask. I would highly recommend the Firecrackers if you're going to hit up the 'tizers. We had the Euro pasta and the crab ravioli. Both were very generous portions and delicious. Our only complaint about the food would be with the house salads, which were not bad by any means but they also weren't anything special. We also really liked that most of the seating was comfy booths that were high backed so we did have a good amount of privacy for warm conversation. One final thing to note is that we went without a reservation on a busy college football Saturday night and did not have to wait more than 15 minutes for a table. If you do have a wait, I would suggest sitting at the bar and sipping a Watchman IPA. Great TVs and a loose atmosphere made our wait much more enjoyable.

I have been going to fireworks for 7 years. I fell in love with them when they were down by the Husker stadium and have followed them on to their new location in Southeast Lincoln. I have NEVER had a bad experience and have been 4-5 dozen times. I love their sandwiches and their seasonal soups. The corn bread and spread is INCREDIBLY YUMMY! I highly highly highly recommend their Macaroni and Cheese. Yea, it's the best I have ever had and my grandma used to call me the Macaroni Girl. I've had every kind you can imagine. I have tried to make every kind you can imagine... I have mixed cheeses and baked and grilled... and Fireworks Restaurant Mac N Cheese is STILL BETTER. You can buy a container of it to go if you want. Let's get to the layout. I love that they have a bar area separate from their dining area. They have this really really warm and inviting patio that is great for fall and spring. I love to go out there and sit for lunch. If you get bored and want a good view, sit near the kitchen... it's interesting watching them use the fire oven they have. I want to talk about the alcohol. That is something that I feel they could work on. The drink prices are outrageous. I don't think they realize that if they charged less for their alcohol that people would stay longer, order more drinks, and then order more food too. I can kind of understand why anyone would rate this place less than 5 stars. This is not the kind of restaurant that you go to without calling ahead your reservation, ESPECIALLY ON THE WEEKEND. This is the best restaurant for a late lunch or early dinner or very late dinner. I live over an hour away from Fireworks. When I go during a rush dining hour, I call ahead and usually can be seated within 10 minutes of arrival. With that said, please keep in mind that some men rate places poorly not based on the food, but because they were "inconvenienced" for their lack of planning. God Bless.

Loved the restaurant, the service was attentive and the food excellent. No negatives. Thank you other Yelpers for guiding us to this place. I had the filet with blue cheese and mushrooms, roasted red potatoes and sauteed broccoli. My spouse had the pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw. And we shared a side of the mac and cheese. Yum!

We were in here the other night for a group event and had a nice private room in the back to accommodate us all. The atmosphere was nice, low lit and I enjoyed the ambiance, the private room offered great seclusion for our outing as well. Service was great, our server was very friendly and always stayed on top of anything we needed. Additionally, anyone else we interacted with were also great. The menu has a nice selection and lots of options for people who are gluten intolerant. They have their own gluten free menu which is pretty extensive. We enjoyed the crab dip (gluten free!) which was amazing with these little wonton crisp things. My companions also said the calamari and pretzel appetizers they had were great. For dinner I had the 6 oz fillet, a baked potato, and a Caesar salad. The fillet was delicious and cooked to the perfect temperature, the potato was also very good. The Caesar salad was average and I was a little disappointed that they had put croutons in it despite my request so I had to stay away from that half of my salad. For dessert I enjoyed the creme brulee which was very good. My companions all said their meals were good, although I did hear that the prime rib and rib eye steak were not as good as they were hoping for. Otherwise we were pleased. It is a little pricey but not bad for a steak house. I would definitely recommend coming by this place and giving it a try! I will certainly be dining here again.

One of my favorite restaurants in Lincoln. The pasta items are great, especially the Peking Peanut Pasta. Pretty much anything steak/beef will be good. Sides are wonderful (cheese and macaroni, broccoli, green beans, potatoes are all great) Soups are good (but can be a bit peppery from someone that doesn't use a lot of pepper for seasoning). Most chicken and pork dishes are also great (Chicken Milan is fantastic, get broccoli as a side and dip it into the chicken's sauce). Service is usually good and a nice ambiance. Serving size is large enough on many entrees that it will feed two. When they're on the top of their game it is one of the best restaurants in Lincoln. I really want to give Firework's a 5, but I can't. There are some menu items that just don't work well. Avoid most seafood items; it is average at best, but that is not surprising for a steak restaurant in the Midwest. Unfortunately the kitchen has off nights where the usual excellence in food is missing.

This is the 2nd time that we've tried Fireworks. The first time we each ordered a blackened chicken and a bruschetta chicken. Both were lacking in flavor and very dry. We did, however, have the soft pretzels for an appetizer, and they were awesome. We gave Fireworks one more shot over the weekend, and we were so disappointed. I had the Roasted Chicken Penang and my other half had the Chimichurri Chicken. Now, I will say that it's our fault that we even ordered a rotisserie style chicken...but the skin on it was bad. Bad, bad. The Chimichurri was lacking in flavor all together. It was hard to eat...everything about it was unfortunately bad. We each had a macaroni and cheese side and it was lackluster. Dry macaroni noodles in a flavorless cheese sauce. Unimpressed. The service is always good though...so that's a plus. If you go, order a salad and the soft pretzels...

Microbrewery + Wood Fired steaks = heaven. I ordered the 12 ounce ribeye medium with roasted red potatoes and sauteed veggies. i chose the Cauliflower/Gorgonzola soup over a salad and was not disappointed at all. My steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were delicious. i can't wait to go back and sample more of what this local gem has to offer.

Owned by the same owners of lazlos. Still have the great beers and great steaks. Good revolving wine menu too. Wish it had the beer cheese like lazlos, but they have great happy hour and its right off the bike trail so I can ride there. Uncorked on the last wed of the month is good too. You go for beer or wine, steak and the ambiance. You don't go for a cheap meal. If you want something casual, save yourself the embarrassment and go to lazlos.

Fireworks demands quality not only in the food they serve, but also in the people they hire. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating. They have an excellent variety of food that is almost always delicious, and if it's not, they will gladly make you something that is. This is a place I'll always put on my list to visit when I visit home.

Great food, reasonable prices, and all sorts of wonderful things. The atmosphere was lovely, and quite intimate for an evening dinner. Though we did notice some groups around too. At first we didn't know if we were going to get an appetizer, but we decided why not? When the server was listing off different appetizers he said the flat bread. And we thought... why not!? And wow! It took a little getting used to for us, with the dip that came with it, but it was really very good. My boyfriend got the Cuban Sandwich with a baked potato, and the said it was quite good. As for me, i got the 8 oz Top Sirloin with red potatoes and macaroni and cheese. it was all so very amazing. the house salad was a little... odd. It tasted good, and featured cold green beans, and corn (...different). But it had almost a spicy feeling to it. It was quite odd. But not bad. The main dish though, was sublime. The steak was a little rare (medium was requested), but it was so good, it was quite quickly forgiven. The waiter was knowledgeable, the strawberry lemonade was refreshing, and the over all experience left me more than comfortably full. I made sure and got a frequent dinner card. I plan on going back many times and putting that card to good use.

What a mixed experience! Here's the good: the beer. Amazing. With it being Christmas, I had the Festive Ale and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very impressive. The atmosphere gets major points as well. Everything you'd ever want in a Wood Fired Brewery. The food bored us. We were looking forward to the wood fired pizza. And their offering in this category disappointed. No wood fired taste whatsoever and the sauce was acidic and terrible. And then the most bizarre experience: I ordered a pizza and asked to swap a topping. Our waiter said he had to ask permission from the kitchen manager (what?!?!). And literally came back to tell me the kitchen manager said I could not swap toppings. I felt scolded. Weird.

For Lincoln it's worth the 5 stars on yelp. It's all relevant to what other offering a city holds. So I won't judge it from my stuck-up San Francisco foodie perspective but a comparison of my experiences so far with Lincoln. The good: I like the wood-smoked flavor How many places can I get a decent tuna or swordfish steak As a microbrew snob, I like their beer The bad: In the middle of nowhere That's my only complaint and I'm not taking off a star for that.

Go for the beer and appetizers. Seasonal and special beers are best. Food overall is ok. Service is hit and miss. Some days good, some days not so good. For NE this is good. Compared to SF I would pass. This place has all the makings of being an outstanding place to eat and socialize. Just not quite there yet.

Fireworks is from the same folks that brought Lazlo's to Lincoln, which means you can order a delicious Empyrean Ale to go with your wood-fired meal. It was formerly located in the Historic Haymarket, until Lazlo's expanded into that part of the building. Instead of Lazlo's beer bread, Fireworks serves a cake-like cornbread. I have been there a handful of times and have always enjoyed my experience. The building was built to be eco-friendly, and it's beautiful. To accommodate smokers in Lincoln (which has a city-wide smoking ban), there is a huge enclosed patio with stone fireplaces to keep you warm in the winter. I was there for their soft opening a couple years ago & got to try a little of everything. The creme brulee' was yummy. It's a good place for a dinner date or a group, & I believe they do call-ahead seating.

Since this is a sister restaurant to Lazlo's, everything I've said about Lazlo's applies to Fireworks. Same list of Empyrean ales, etc. However, here most everything is wood-fired, including the scrumptious apple tart dessert. You can get a reasonable selection of wood-fired pizzas unavailable at Lazlo's. And the same Omaha steaks offered at Lazlo's are done over hickory here. Both restaurants have very attentive and helpful wait staff, who tend but don't hover. Both places have daily specials, often with fish. However, since we are visiting beef country, my wife and I have stuck to all the variations of beef, including steak, prime rib, brisket, and burgers. The sides and salad dressings at each restaurant also differ slightly- so each has a distinctiveness despite similarities. We sat in the enclosed patio which offered a nice meadow view and was quieter than inside - a relief after a day of Special Olympics events. Should I ever find myself in Lincoln again , this is amust-visit.

OK, I've updated Fireworks to 5 stars. My husband, daughter and I were there yesterday, and the service was impeccable. I had the ahi tuna, and it was incredibly thick and way too rare for me. There was about a centimeter of cooked, and the rest was a huge piece of sushi. I couldn't cut it it was so raw. I just wanted them to cook it as described on the menu - medium rare. They did, and they comp'd it. Everyone was very concerned that I was happy. Even the manager came over. They handled it supremely well. Plus, our food was just really, really good.

Another restaurant many seem to be a fan of, but I just don't think it lives up to the hype. Never had a bad experience, but defintely nothing to write home about. I do love the southeast Lincoln location, and the atmosphere is trendy and clean. But there is alway a long wait for a table, and then another long wait to get your food. And when the food arrives, the presentation is lacking, the flavor is average, and the portions are small. All for a price that seems a bit steep. For the money, I'd rather eat at Lazlos!

I'm a big fan of Lazlo's sister restaurant. We've ordered a variety of dishes (cubans, burgers, pasta) and all have been delicious. Their black bean appetizer is very good. I prefer the ambiance of Fireworks over Lazlo's and I personally think the food is much better and consistent. I also think the prices are very reasonable or at least comparable to other chain restaurant in the area.

We eat at Fireworks often. Great service, great food. Their Korean Wrap appetizers is very good, although not very authentic. I'm in LOVE with their crab cake salad. Best crab cakes in Lincoln. I love their fresh selection of fish and they always have interesting soups. My kids love this place for their great kids meals and desserts. Also a wonderful place for lunch.

I was very pleased with this restaurant. I am not from Nebraska, and I was in Lincoln looking for a steak. I had the Omaha prime-rib since that seemed like the thing to get. It was delicious. The prime rib was cooked exactly like I had hoped...rare center. Great flavor on the outside rub. The sides (spicy coleslaw, potatoes) and cornbread were also good. Finished off with a flight of 10+ 1 oz beer samples from their in-restaurant Microbrewery. It was a good time and good food for a reasonable price.

Best Philly Cheesesteaks in town. Ask for a side of their egg roll sauce to dip it in. Their steaks are awesome too. I love the portabella mushrooms and gorgonzola cheese sauce on top.

Fireworks is owned by the same people who own Lazlo's but it has a different menu. My husband always orders something different and has never had anything that he does not like. My favorite is the crab cake salad. We rarely sit in the restaurant because we prefer the screened patio or bar with TVs, especially during football season.

Best prime rib in lincoln. Beer from Empyrean Brewing Co., and I am a fan of third stone brown and the oatmeal stout. The bar and patio are both a nice setting, but inside seating is cozy and inviting as well. I always have had good service. Worth a visit.
