Food is fantastic, authentic and the owner comes out and talks to you about the food. He gave us all a free taste of his Ethiopian coffee too. Food takes awhile to come out, don't go if you're in a rush, but it was definitely worth the wait.

Ajora Falls is so good that I want to go back as soon as I leave. The food is so unique and delicious. The food is a very good price for the variety, quality, and quatity that you receive. The owner is caring and remembers you from your previous visits. He has given me free coffee after my meal on multiple occasions. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to try something new. The location could be better but the owners seem to be doing the best they can. Take a risk and try something original, you won't be disappointed.

Great restaurant! The person who served us (who I suspect is the owner) was very welcoming. We really enjoyed the food we ordered and the tea and appetizer that he gave us! The servings are huge - we had two entrees and had enough left over for a couple days.

Simply put, Ajora Falls is my favorite restaurant in Lincoln. I love Ethiopian food and seek out Ethiopian restaurants when I travel, and the food at Ajora Falls ranks right up there with the best that I've had. I always get the vegetarian sampler platter and doto wat (chicken stew), both of which are delicious and filling. As noted the service and quality has much improved since new ownership (restaurant in same location was previously known as African Restaurant). The owner is very friendly and welcoming. It would be well worth your time to check out Ajora Falls, I know I'll be back again soon.

This place has lasted quite a while in this location. I don't know how they do it, because I've never seen the place packed. I reallyreallyreallyreally like the food. Usually, I just go in there and ask for the "sampler plate" and share it with my husband. I don't order off the menu. Honestly, we get charged various prices each time we order it, but none of them have been too outrageous. I've had Ethiopian at a variety of other places, and this one serves it authentic. I recommend using your fingers. Don't use a fork. Wipe the plate clean with the injerra. It's absolutely delicious.

This place is AWESOME! I have eaten lots of Ethiopian food all over the country (as well as in Ethiopia), and this place is at the top of my list of favorites. The doro wat (chicken stew) is delicious, as is the vegetarian platter, and the injera is always just right. Try the tea, too, which is super sweet and a favorite of mine. Tesfaye, the owner, is kind and attentive. This place is a hidden gem. (Note that Ajora Falls is in the location of the old Africa Restaurant. Tesfaye is the new owner, and the menu, food, decor, hours, are different and all much improved!).

Seriously the best Ethiopian food I've ever had. I've been to several DC Ethiopian restaurants and this is better than those (and those were really good)! Lentils, goat, chicken, beef, coffee (awesome) everything was great. Lovely atmosphere. Don't be in hurry. Just enjoy the atmosphere.

(This is a re-post from The African Restaurant, its former name) I'll make this short and sweet. I LOVE THIS PLACE. The ambiance is nothing much to look at but screw you if you go to a restaurant to look at pretty chairs. Go here and have the best Ethiopian food you'll have in Nebraska. END. OF. STORY.

*Caveat: I am mostly rating the atmosphere of the restaurant rather than the food since I am not personally a fan of Ethiopian cuisine. I came out tonight on the recommendation of a friend. This is not a restaurant I would have ever made it to on my own* OK. At the behest of a friend, I decided to dine at Ajora Falls while I was in Lincoln for school. When we arrived the place looked very run down, but sometimes the most amazing places are those that don't have all that sizzle on the outside. My group entered the restaurant and had to wait a few minutes before we were greeted by anyone. A gentleman (assumed owner) greeted us and asked us where we would like to sit and we said outside if possible. The inside of the restaurant didn't raise any initial issues for me -the decor isn't anything special (with an African theme). We went outside and the man working washed off some chairs for us which was very nice. He then asked us what we would like to drink. Several in my group ordered water while I ordered a soda. A few minutes later our server arrived with some very retro looking water glasses and several (more than we ordered) sodas. Unfortunately, the sodas had some interest debris on the top of them (I think it was spices). We asked for straws, but the straws that were provided to us had some "gunk" on them so we decided to just wipe the can and use as is. We ordered the sampler platter times two for four people. When the platter arrived there was a variety of options to choose from-Lentil, potatoes, beef?. Now, I am not an adventurous eater and this was way out of my comfort zone, but what I tasted (a bit of everything) was pretty tasty. If I hadn't been so turned off by the soda situation and atmosphere, I actually think I might have enjoyed the cuisine. I tried it. I didn't love it, but I don't want to discourage others from the cuisine itself. I just personally didn't enjoy the experience. If you can get past the places appearance and are OK with a place that as a little edge to it (and your like Ethiopian cuisine), this is probably a good choice based on the other reviews.
