Coming from a place where the mexican culture is rich, this little restaurant brings me back. The tacos are authentic tasting and the torts was delicious. If I ever come back to NE and happen to be by Lexington I will most definitely be coming back.

This was a plesant surprise, more or less in a rural area off I-80 next door to a motel at which we were staying. Great mexican food in a casual setting. Good prices. If I stay in this area again, this is where I will eat.

The best enchiladas and supreme burrito I've ever had. Definitely worth getting off I-80 for.

This is a quaint little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant. It seems to be run by a family. The food was good enough for us as we were passing through. You seat yourself, but there is a waiter whom you order from. There is a condiment bar in the middle of the restaurant that you are able to get up and use, kind of an odd concept when you have a waiter. The food was authentic and good.

Not far at all off the beaten path. Reasonable prices, wonderful authentic Mexican food. The venue is small,, but comfortable. Nothing fancy at all. Service was also fine. Highly recommend. We will go back.

After spending a great deal of my life in Nebraska then the California eating Mexican food for the most part consisted of taco John or some other variance. However on this occasion my wife and I were traveling back through Nebraska and stopped here for dinner. A little hard to find, however we were blown away by the authenticity of the food.We have really good Mexican food here in So Cal however this was as good if not better than we have here. I highly recommend this to travelers or locals, support these gems of small businesses. I had the Chile relleno and is was the best I have ever had, Lexington has a gem of a small homemade Mexican food restaurant. Great job

Tucked away in the middle of nowhere Nebraska is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in a while. The place is tiny and a little off the main highway, but well worth the drive. I had the carnitas and they were so well cooked and seasoned that I couldn't stop eating. I once read something that said, "I want the food to be so good that when you finish your last bite...you wish you had just one more bite." that's what this place is like. I finished everything and really wish there was just one more bite. If you're traveling down I-80 and you need a place to stop for food, check out this place. I'll also add, I was raised in southern California and know some good Mexican food. Check out the other reviews, you'll find similar comments. This place is awesome!

This is hands down one of the best Mexican food restaurants I've ever been to. Being in the city I'm used to the franchised Mexican restaurants but they don't even come close to this. Amazing food, will come here again, and again....

Best road meal we had on our cross country trip - Colorado to PA and back. Just a short drive from the freeway, this is worth it. Nothing fancy, just freshly made basic Mexican food with good salsa and fresh condiments- even chopped cilantro. Don't waste your time with that hideous Wendy's in town. It's not pretty on the outside but the food here was great.

My husband & I stopped in for a quick Togo lunch while road tripping from NYC to Denver. A pleasant surprise, quick, affordable, fresh & flavorful.

If the neighborhood is any indication this the real deal. It is on the other side of the tracks literally. The alpastor and carnitas tacos were over the top, just like being in some funky little hamlet in Michoacan. Well worth the trouble of finding it.

The Caldo de Camarón was very good. Attentive service and authentic food. Will stop back next time I'm in Lexington.

This was a very authentic Mexican meal and VERY tasty! I had the Bistec Ranchero. Order it regular unless you're accustomed to hot.

Great place! We were driving through Nebraska from California to IL and with very little food options we stumbled along Lo Mejor.... Awesome tacos! Get the carnitas.

Wonderful food and excellent service! Family owned, husband and wife chefs. Got the stuffed chicken burrito and it was delicious. Also got 2 corn steak tacos. The food is fresh and delivered quickly after we ordered. Definitely made to order. iPhone directions were wrong but wasn't hard to find it located on the corner. Entire meal which my husband and I shared was only $15. including a generous tip. We were both too full for dessert. A little out of your way off highway 80 but worth it!!

This is a very good restaurant. I like the three enchilada dish. The fish dish is also very good. But if you just want a delicious sandwich, don't worry. Order the torta de carne asada. This restaurant is also very clean and nicely decorated.

Lexington's best kept secret. Everything here is good! Friendly staff, cold drinks, and quality ingredients make this one of the best places to eat in central nebraska.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
