This BBQ restaurant is fantastic. Big helpings, attentive staff! !! Summer was my waitress, and so helpful and patient. She understands Autism, and is very accommodating. Which is great since I have 3 kids with Autism. It's quiet (at least when I went there), kids eat free on Monday nights (?) , which is great for picky eaters. Since I don't have to worry about wasteing money on food they may not eat. I can't wait to go back with my kids! !!

I am a regular at memphis. Atleast 2-3 times a month. Not the best bbq, but for fayetteville, it is decent. Normally no problems except a flat beer once. I ordered take out today. Before my roomate had ordered take out and said the service was lacking and the portions were smaller than when we ate in. I figured i would check my order before we left. So i ordered $38.00 worth of food. What i saw was a suprise. I ordered a extra side of sausage and was told it was 6 oz. What i saw was side item contain with a little bit of sausage in it. I showed it to the waitress and she said they always try to skimp you.(wrong answer #1). I asked to see the manager. (She was in the back and i had to wait 10 minutes) showed it to her and she said that is the serving and we weigh them in the back before serving and offered to take it in the back and reweigh it. (Wrong answer #2 I am formally in food service and will never let my food out of my sight once it has been served. You can understand why. Also she should be able to tell what a serving size is by looking, come on. Manager we are not new at this) I told her i would weigh it when i got home and post pictures om yelp... so lets see the results. $6.00 for side of sausage. $38.00 for the total meal. Hope you see the value.

I read the mixed reviews so I thought I would give it a try. I have ate ribs in Memphis Tennessee a few times before and would love to go back. I ordered the baby back ribs and they were good. Not great. I will not go home talking about how I want to drive back to Fayetteville and eat here. I might try it again if I'm in town. But I'm sure there are more local BBQ place I would rather check out. It was dark in there and I had to angle the menu to read it. They did not give military discounts (one of the very few places in this town). And I never got the pork rines the other people on here talked about. So overall it's a good place, food was good.

Best BBQ Ribs!!! Delicious BBQ sauce, very tender and juicy cooked. Steam vegetables served in a very good sauce. I will come back.

The meat was a little dry, the service was just okay and their beer selection was limited. Fayetteville is a tough place to find good food so let me save you a stop and move along from this place.

I definitely enjoyed the meal. I got the Pitmasters Sampler with half a rack of spare ribs, brisket and chicken. The chicken was so tender that the meat fell off of the bone. The brisket and ribs had a great flavor to them. Plus they brought out some skins while we waited for our meal. Britney was our waitress and she was very polite, and served the meal very quickly. I will definitely dine here again. Recommended.

Just finished dinner here for the first time. First impressions were where are all the people. Not busy for a Friday night. Second ordered drinks and 20 minutes later they finally came. We ordered appetizers and they went to the wrong table. That was also strike two for me. The last straw was I ordered ribs for dinner. The meal came and then it was announced they had a problem with the ribs. Reordered a burger. It was under cooked. Paid and left. Was not impressed or happy.

Good! I'm just bummed that I only got to eat here once before moving out of Fayetteville.

We've eaten here before and it's always been great. However, today the food was so bad we will probably never go back. Our server was very nice and even got the manager for us. She apologized but refused to comp us anything. The appetizer was fresh but the entrees were like leftovers that had been reheated too many times. We almost sent it back but we were so hungry we just pushed through it. We still only ate about half of it and then we got really sick by the time we got home. Super disappointed.

You gotta be kidding me with this place. Have you gone? GO! I don't freaking live here and I've been more than you. MY PARENTS, who are retired and on a fixed income, make weekly treks into this joint just to pick up a bag of their pork rinds! GO ALREADY!

I was reluctant to go here since its a large franchise and prefer to look up the small "mom and pop" type of BBQ places. however, this place was great! Great selection of food and everything was very good. Beer choices on tap were right on target as well. I would go back again.

If you have a serious appetite for a burger and for BBQ get the Peacemaker (add bacon for 2 bucks). Seriously good eating. All our burgers were out in less than ten minutes and they were hot; tender pulled pork, thick juicy bacon and a large patty in between two unsquashed buns. Pretty casual place but the food was great. I'll be back when I'm feeling starved again.

Amazing food!! Super fast and most staff are very friendly. Only had one incident with a waitress being rude but this has not happened since. Of course, she hasn't been my waitress anymore. Prices are reasonable considering the amount of food that they serve! I recommend the BBQ Nachos!! Delicious!!

I had seen and heard so much about this place I just had to go. I cannot remember when I have been so disappointed in bbq in my life. My Mom had to leave and just waited outside, The food was not good, maybe we went at the wrong time. It was lunch in the middle of the week but that doesn't allow for the poor quality food we received. After the drive from Nashville it was not a good ride back. I got a pulled pork sandwich and did ask if I could get a bite of the brisket before I ordered a full dinner of it and was told in a very unfriendly way that they did not allow that. OK by me I will go elsewhere. My server was too interested in a table of young men instead of doing her job

I've been here before and it was never my first choice of place to go. The food is pretty good, but again not my first choice. After tonight I have totally changed my mind. Our server Summer was awesome! Not only did we receive amazing service but she was very personable. Just from observing she knew all her bar customers and what their regular order was. Will definitely be coming back and asking for her!

First let me say Monday night is kids eat free night! We ate there this past Monday unknowing that so it was a pleasant treat. The food was good and the service was good! No complaints. We will be back again!

Went for lunch. Had the catfish with fries. Fish was moist and cooked well. Had the cheese and meat appetizers with friends. The sausage was great. Service was also great. Will definitely come back.

This is a smoked BBQ restaurant !!!! So this means that the food is pre cooked and held to temp for service. So we ordered the sampler platter that came with a sample of ribs, choice of bbq, pulled chicken, brisket... And so on but we ordered the baby backs, brisket and BBQ. 45 minutes of waiting later the waitress tells us they don't have anymore ribs!!!! What ????? Are you kidding me??? A BBQ restaurant that has ribs all over the menu runs out at 7:00 at night??? We did get BBQ nachos they were ok but the manager was to busy talking to a large group that came in before us and explaining the problem with the ribs to come and apologize. So if you want ribs you better call before you ride!!

Try it you should like it. I had the Memphis dip. It was great. The most surprising part of my visit was that I liked the vinegar BBQ sauce. I usually hate vinegar sauce. It hurt my big belly to eat that sandwich. Bonus is they offer pork rines to start. Who does that? That was another PLEASANT surprise.

I'm sorry to have to give this place a one star rating based on a single item. Knowing full well that one's BBQ taste is regional and since I spent a number of years in Texas I lean towards Texas style brisket and beef ribs. The brisket served here had no smoke taste and no smoke ring. What it did taste like was a meat that had been precooked and then boiled in water to bring the temperature up from refrigerator level. It's not a meal that I can remotely recommend. As for NC style pork I can only hope they do a better job with it.

  • Kellie P.

It was just average. Nothing fancy. I really wanted to be blown away but I wasn't. Only disappointed. It wasn't busy yet I had to wait 15 between being seen by the waitress. I finally was able to order after 30 minutes. My food must have been sitting for a minute because the bun was complete slop. Proportions were all wrong and tasted funny.

A friend told me about the donut hamburger so my husband and I mad sit a point to check it out. We went in with an appetite for burgers but EVERY thing on the menu looked delicious! We had Amber as our server and she was AWESOME! So nice and knowledgeable about the food. I told my husband I wanted to be her friend midway threw dinner haha! Anyway she suggested we get the BBQ nachos for starters and they were amazing. We were very pleasantly full by the time we finished them. She also suggested we get the meat sampler (I forgot the actual name of it) and we ordered the baby back ribs, brisket, shredded chicken, Mac and cheese and fries. Haha. Everything was so good. I took my half home. And the sweet tea too! I just moved here from spending my whole life in California and Arizona and this is the best bbq restaurant I've ever been to.

My husband and I went here shortly after they opened. We were very hopeful for a great new restaurant, but we were disappointed. The place was pretty empty, but our server didn't seem to have much interest in doing things quickly. I ordered a basic bbq pork sandwich. It was cold and the bun was stale.

  • Chris S.

One of the better BBQ chains I've been to. The pork is always flavorful but always dry and requires lots of sauce. I do recommend getting the smoked wings for a starter and the doughnut bread pudding as a dessert. You won't be disappointed.

  • Carroll S.

I was particularly disappointed with this establishment. They shouldn't even be able to advertise this as World Championship Barbecue, you can easily make better at home. Everything we ordered bland, the sides, mains, everything. Baby Back Ribs were dry, brisket was dry and flavorless, just dead. Even the Mac and Cheese tasted like nothing at all. I let my server know the food was bland and he just looked at me and sort of hung his head and nodded like he'd heard it a hundred times before. I would recommend just about anywhere else in town for barbecue.

  • Julie A.

The service was great! Wait staff were on point like they were reading our minds. Food meh. Got the peacemaker because our waitress claimed the brisket and pulled pork were her favorite and to die for... So I was expecting some juicy flavorful meat and had something that resembled that shredded jerky in a chew tin thing.. It was dry and bland and not award winning. My company said his burger was cooked well but the pork in top of his burger was dry and bland as well. I'm glad the bbq sauce was in the table so I could drench it and give some life back into the meat. May be willing to try it again because the service was superb...

Since the last time I came to Fayetteville, this place popped up... always wanting to try something new, I dragged Logan here. He didn't resist, as any man, bbq is always a good meal, right? I agree with some other reviewers, I really wanted to like this place, and I wish I could have given an extra star. But really, I just couldn't. The food was just... ok., a hit or miss. Instead of bread service, they give what they claim as in house made fried pork rinds. I didn't partake, but Logan did, and he said, meh, tastes pretty much like any friend pork rind you find at the gas station. Before we can order food, we couldn't help notice that there was an over abundance of staff.. At any given time, we could count a minimum (no lie!) 5 waitresses grouped together in different areas in the dining area just talking.... comeon, really? It gave it such an unprofessional air, made you wonder what management was doing by either overstaffing or not caring if the staff didn't work. That being said, our waitress crossed that boundary of coming around asking how things were too much.... I like attentiveness, and then there's annoying, can't enjoy my meal cus you keep bothering me. My beef ribs were good. They were tender and fall off the bone. The brisket, dry, dry, dry. Sausage was fine, but not the spicy kind. The baby back ribs were pretty tender. And remember, I said no bread service, well, each plate comes with a slice of skillet corn bread. Now, that was good!!!! I could go back just for an order of that. The bbq spaghetti side, don't even think about it. The spaghetti was so overcooked, that it was pretty much mush... and you will have to like the tangy vinegar taste from the bbq sauce it comes with. This is were my husband and I differ... I am from the culinary crowd that says caesar salad dressing should have anchovies in it. My husband says, NO WAY, nothing fishy for me. Don't know why he always has to order a salad, but he got the caesar salad... and nearly spit it all out at first bite.... yes, it was the anchovy style dressing... but you know, after I tasted it, it tasted way too fishy.... the bad kind of fishy.... just a warning. All in all, it was an ok meal, we were full, had plenty to take home, but then again, we aren't the type that wants or needs bbq too often. Will we go back, sure... soon, probably not. By the way, if Guy Fierri is the only claim to fame you have....that's a bit sad....

I don't know why we waited too long to try this place. Usually when a new restaurant comes to Fayetteville, we wait a bit until the hype goes down. But we should have ate here earlier!! I wasn't expecting much being that this is a chain BBQ restaurant. I wasn't expecting the "homemade" food flavor like you would get at an actual BBQ festival, but the food was amazing!! We ordered the sausage & cheese plate appetizer and the bacon wrapped shrimp. Both were really good, but the sausage & cheese was literally sausage & cheese bits. Not really exciting. For my entree I ordered the sampler entree with half slack of ribs, pulled pork and chicken. Sides were red beans & rice and BBQ spaghetti. I probably ate 20% of my food because they give so much, but it made for excellent leftovers. I was pleasantly surprised with the BBQ spaghetti. Had never tried it before and it was so yummy!!! The service was amazing also. My best friend actually stopped coming here because she said the service had gone down so much, so I'm assuming they've made strides to remedy that. Our drinks stayed full and our waitress checked on us often. The manager also came around to check on us. Will definitely be back.

I really REALLY wish I could rate this place higher. The people working in there are very nice, so I will go back again and see if I can increase the rating by ordering something else. The workers attitudes and personalities made me rate it a 3 without them it would have been a low 2. I got a To-Go order, and when I walked in , they walked me around through a hallway to the back of the bar where they handed me a menu and I was standing in a hallway trying to read the menu with people walking around me NOPE that was not good. I walked over to a counter to stand out of the way, but as the guy waiting to take my order said there is no light there. NOPE not working for me. I asked about the 2 item plate it had pulled pork and some other meat choices I was going to try the chicken, but they had ran out of "white 1/4" chicken so I chose a Loaded Baked Potato instead. It was a normal sized baked potato with butter, sour cream, cheese and a mound of "pulled pork" I asked for the sauce on the side and they did that just as I asked. It took about 10 or 15 minutes to get the food ...that was no problem. They were fairly busy and for a new place they seemed to be holding their own. They apologized for me having to wait so long... wow it really did not seem very long at all. I resisted the urge to open the bag on the way home i was curious because it didn't smell like anything in the car so I was wondering if the food was hot? When I got home the bag held the typical white square container, (photo attached of the food) . Now here is where we get to the bad stuff... NO plastic fork even and no paper napkin, I guess I was supposed to have something squirreled away in my purse... NO I did not so that was not cool. The sauce was very tasty but such a tiny little bit of it that I had to ration it out and would have really liked to have a little more. The meat had a good taste, but remember I am off the meat wagon so it was probably better than i am giving it credit for. I really wish they had the chicken. A man and his wife were outside talking to some other people as I walked in and they were complaining about the portions size and they convinced the two ladies not to even go in. I agree it was not a plate to where I came close to having left overs. I will have to try something else next time. Jan 04 2013- Went in today at lunch to pick up 6 phone in to-go orders. Workers were all very nice food ready and waiting, paying was very painless. Food was good. I had the BBQ pork plate with two sides (I am not a fan of the BBQ spaghetti, and the potato salad was salty enough that I am covered on sodium for the month) BBQ Sauce is VERY good. I am ok with the prices, but all the other people who ordered said the same thing.. "too pricey for the portions" Still a 3 star for me I will go back and keep trying stuff till I find something worthy of another star.

Great service, very friendly. Offered pork skins while I waited for my guest. Sweet tea tastes great. They sell it by the gallon for $7.50 Comfortable atmosphere, booths are the most comfortable. Lighting is not too bright. Pulled pork plate is delicious.

The low rating is not for the entire establishment but for our waitress. Excellent food, however very poor service from our waitress. My wife and I went there today to celebrate my birthday. As this is not our first time visiting this establishment we expected more than the type service that was rendered today. The hostess promptly took us to a table and gave us the menus. It took our waitress over five minutes to greet us and take our order. She didn't bother to ask if we wanted the complimentary pork skins. She was leaving our table when I had to ask her if they were available. When she brought them the amount she brought didn't compare to the amount I have gotten there before nor what I saw on other tables. She brought my wife salad and left the table never returning to see if everything was alright. My wife had to get another waitress to get her some additional salad dressing. When we got our meal it was excellent. We noticed that our waitress was very attentive to the table behind us but didn't bother to really care about our needs. She even took the time to stop what she was doing to take their picture for them, which is ok as long as you are taking care of all your customers. When we got our bill, again we had a long wait before we had to get another waitress to contact our waitress so we could pay the bill. I will go there again, however she will not be my waitress.

NEVER EVER GO HERE...Sooo..tonight me and my friend go here to the MB in Fayetteville and my friend orders a drink for me because I left my purse at my other friends house...Mind you I've already told the bartender that my id is on the way. .Well my friend who's already with me orders the drink for me and as I'm about to drink it the bartender says nothing...Well my friend orders another drink which is her drink and the bartender says. ..Are you gonna drink it or her...Of course I say..Why is there a problem. ..she then says..I'm not suppose to sell you alcohol w/o proper identification...She then goes and get her "General Manager" Trey...by then my friend makes it in with my purse..The manager ask for my id...I give it to him...I tell him I wouldn't have drunk it if she would've told me I couldn't but she watched me open the straw and drink it...He says I can check the cameras and of course I say PLEASE DO...Well my friend says don't be rude...He says I'm Not. I'm not loosing my liquor license because I sold her a drink w/o proper identification ...And then he says..I'm just gonna cancel this order but some one needs to pay for this drink and I'm gonna ask y'all to leave ...Can someone tell me why we got kicked out???? My friend then goes on to say...You really need to stop drinking brcause look at your stomach. ...So the "GENERAL MANAGER TRAY SAYS to my friend ..WELL LOOK AT YOUR FACE...But he's the GENERAL MANAGER...I Would think twice before I went to this place...With no customers service and where the GENERAL MANAGER calls the customers name and Doesn't set an EXAMPLE for his EMPLOYEES !!!!

We came in for dinner after 8:30pm. Ordered the sampler platter and the Nachos. Nachos were cold. Sent it back 2x. Each time the same thing. The pork on the nachos was cold and not much cheese. Pork rinds were good and beef brisket. Just sad I can't say the same for the entire meal and overall experience.

I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans. It was delicious. The pork was moist and flavorful. I opted to put my own bbq sauce which I recommend since they have different options (I like the vinegar based sauce). Kyle was a great server which made our eating experience even better.

Food was great! My pulled pork and beef brisket were both moist and flavorful. All side dishes I tasted were great for restaurant...red beans and rice, fried okra and turnip greens. You must have the fried green tomatoes! They are delicious with Panko breading. You also can't beat getting pork rinds for free upon arrival. Our waitress Kristen was also super friendly. My only complaint is that they give you cornbread on a bbq plate and you have to ask for toast (personal preference) but trust me...the toast is delicious!

The food is awesome. The staff is very friendly. The food taste excellent. This isn't the kind of restaurant you rush to leave. Large portions.

I had the pulled BBQ sandwich it was the best I've had in a long time. Not fatty at all so I didn't have to pick through it like I usually do. Fries were a little overdone and super salty, so I didn't eat them. Service was great, food came at lightning speed, and the place was clean. Definitely would recommend this place for lunch or dinner! Yum!

All reviews have negative reviews and any experience at a restaurant can have the potential to be bad so with that being said I will share my experiences with you. This is a longer than normal review because I'm wrapping two experiences into one. First trip to MBC was an OK experience. I really liked the pork rinds as an appetizer. My wife agreed it was a good thing to munch on to wait for food. She ordered the turkey club. The bread was grilled and VERY greasy. Everything else on her sandwich was good though. I ordered the pulled pork. My wife and I were the only ones in the restaurant and it took 30 mins for our order to get out. We were very surprised... I am from Hawaii as my last duty station and am very spoiled from the juicy flavor of Kalua pulled pork. The pulled pork here was drier than I was expecting but the flavor was OK. We ordered the blueberry creame brûlée and that was actually awesome! Props on that desert. But I go to a restaurant esp a BBQ restaurant for a killer entree. So an ok experience overall. Second visit, I decided to bring the in-laws. Again got the pork rinds as a munchie food. Everyone liked those. Father ordered a BLT. Mother ordered the BBQ Shrimp. Wife ordered chicken fingers. I ordered baby back ribs. The order was taking a while to come out to us and 30 mins later the waitress says, "sorry it's taking so long another server took his BLT by accident so we have to make you another one. And they also took your ribs so we have to remake those as well." Stuff happens as we understood. Very unprofessional of her to blame it on another server but that's a discussion for another day. The food comes out another 15 mins later. Fathers BLT ha very very greasy bread. They grill the bread on the same grill they cook everything else on. But he sucked it up and ate it. Mothers BBQ Shrimp came out very greasy as well. Looking at the BBQ butter it had spots of grease collecting up in the bowl and was very unappealing to the eye. She was very unhappy to see that. My wife ordered chicken fingers. Can't mess that up right? a WRONG! Chicken fingers were bland the the bread on them was very rubbery. Fell short there as well. My ribs looked awesome I was pumped to dig in even after seeing their food hadn't came out to their liking. I took a bite and bit into a bone. I thought it was just one bone so I kept going. The entire side of the ribs was bones all up through it. Very hard in texture. I don't know if they were so dry they started cracking or what? Very unhappy with my ribs as well. I asked for the manager and she took everything and went through the motions of I'm so sorry and sounded like a robot doing it no less. They bring a check to us and I was shocked. I asked to speak again to the manager and she comes over. I said, "Not only was our food very very late coming out, but 3/4 dishes turned out terrible and you can't comp on BLT sandwich and one orange soda??!?" She says "Well we took the rest of the meals off and he did eat the BLT." I said "Well ok then, we won't be coming back and I will be writing a review on yelp." I've worked in the restaurant business as a server for about five years prior to joining the military. I would never have charged a customer for a meal after having 3/4 meals not even close to being good. That's why they lost me as a customer and hopefully someone reads this and sees the type of management running this place and decides to go somewhere else. I'm so surprised that they allowed this to happen today.

Been craving good brisket since moving from TX last summer and haven't liked anything at all in NC until coming here. Everything was perfect! Loved the pulled pork, all the sides were good, good sauce, and the bread pudding was amazing too. Good service as well. So happy to have found this place!

Have been back. Things are better, guess the chef has learned his way around the kitchen! Food was much better, service was improved, and the noise level wasn't as bad. Had the Bread Pudding again.... was in heaven again.....

I was in town and in the mood for some BBQ, and a couple of people mentioned this place. We ordered a platter with 1/2 rack of spare ribs, 1/4 of chicken and pulled pork with mac and cheese and fried okra. And we also decided to try a piece of the fried catfish, heard a few people raving about it. The overall taste was pretty good the pulled pork was by far my favorite of the meat choices. The catfish was a tad bit over battered for my liking. The sides were ok tasting, the Mac and cheese was pretty blah. The portion sizes of the sides are a joke...... I mean must you give me a tablespoon full of Mac and cheese to go with this enormous platter??? The service was ok, and they were extremely busy with the church crowd.

Went on Tuesday 9 Sep 14. This was my first time. Place is ok for a BBQ. As for the brisket, it was undercooked and not good. The potato salad was ugly. I understand its German potato salad with cream cheese but not that much. I was not impressed with the place at all and will find another place that is better. Not worth the time.

Outstanding flavors. Excellent quality meat. We had the spare ribs (dry rub), pulled port, and brisket. They were all very good as were the potato salad, baked beans, and cornbread.

Memphis Barbecue Co. is the pride and joy of world champion BBQ pitmasters Melissa Cookston (of Yazoo's Delta Q) and John Wheeler (of Natural Born Grillers), and the restaurant may very well be the only BBQ restaurant in the country that features two world champion pitmasters. Both Melissa and John are familiar faces at Memphis in May as well as on the Memphis Barbecue Network competition circuit. When you first walk in to the restaurant, you immediately know you're walking into a place created by BBQ royalty. The numerous Memphis in May trophies declare such. They have numerous appetizers to choose from, including a rib basket, BBQ nachos, and wings. My wife is a cheese fan. So when we saw the cheese fritters, we just had to go for that! And we weren't disappointed! These were huge, cheesy bundles of goodness! Heather noted that she got a lot of what she thought was garlic in the cheese fritters that she ate. Regardless of that, she also thought they were very very tasty! Heather ordered the baby back ribs while I ordered the spare ribs. We both ordered our respective ribs sauced. Her sides were onion rings and BBQ beans, while I went for the mac & cheese and potato salad. We both thought our ribs were absolutely delicious and full of flavor! Mine were almost a touch overdone though - they were that tender. A common misconception in ribs is that if they're falling off the bone, they're tender. Ribs that fall off the bone mean that they're overcooked. A perfectly done rib is tender enough that you can take a bite out of it with very little resistance, and the resulting bite mark will be very clean. All of the sides were excellent. The onion rings were nice and crispy, the mac & cheese was nice and cheesy, the BBQ beans were just right, and the potato salad was nice and creamy. Heather wasn't crazy about the potato salad though, mentioning how rich it was. The potato salad has a ranch dressing base. The service was just as expected. Pricewise was about right for a nice dinner (even though we went for lunch). An appetizer, two entrees, and two sweet teas cost approximately $50. But for the flavor that we had, it was totally worth the price and the drive! This review is available with pictures at bigwaynerbbq.com/2013/01…

GREAT FOOD, GREAT SERVICE. The Cheese Fritters are awesome but only eat 1 each because they are so filling. We ordered some of everything for our first stop today, for me the highlights or where they really excel is the brisket, the babyback ribs and the BBQ Spaghetti. Our waitress was very helpful and attentive. They bring you pork rinds while you wait and they are great to sample the 3 sauce choices with. I favor the Vinegar Sauce. Looking forward to going back and trying the BBQ Nachos and a Donut Burger with House Cured Bacon. Great Overall Experience and worth the drive from Raleigh.

Fantastic place to eat, first time at Memphis. Service gets a 10/10, BBQ Pork Baker 10/10, Doughnut Burger 10/10, Baby Back Ribs 8/10, Brisket 8/10 and atmosphere is 9/10. We had Ms. Viv was our server and she was fantastic.

It was a busy valentines evening... About 9pm and we had a party of 5. Wait was 40 minutes at the door and turned out to be 30 minutes. Got 4 stars as the big choice was Baby Back Ribs and they were sold out... The Memphis style ribs were still available a and was a decent replacement. Good dinner all in all and would not hesitate to return...

We first realized this place existed when we were coming out of Sam's Club and smelled something amazing. Once I located the smell I saw that it was a new restaurant located where O'Charlie's used to be. I was skeptical at first because I'm picky when it comes to BBQ and have been disappointed way too many times over the years. After a few months of smelling the aroma on my trips to Sam's I decided to give it a try. I wish I had tried it earlier. The pulled pork was so tender and the flavor so balanced that I forgot I was in Fayetteville. I hadn't had BBQ this good since visiting my grandparents ranch in Texas as a kid. Surprisingly the food is inexpensive and the portions are quite large. The collard greens are out of this world and the mac and cheese is smooth and creamy. The first couple of times I went I ordered a pulled pork platter and this last time I ordered a huge fully loaded baked potato topped with BBQ smothered pulled pork. I keep wanting to try their chicken or brisket or ribs but every time I go I can't get away from the pork. I guess it's because it's been so long since someone has done it so well. If you are looking for a place that has great BBQ definitely make this place a destination. On a side note, our server Heather went out of her way to help my 3 yr old daughter and turned her bad mood (she was cranky from being tired) into a good one. That by itself really helped make the dining experience enjoyable. This place is definitely on my family outing rotation.

I paid for a to go order for two people and was charged 18% gratuity because a few other people I work with ordered. I called and spoke with the manager, and apparently he was the one who thought it was a good idea. So you're welcome for the $60 tip for taking a to go order.

Run from the stupidity. I was denied purchasing a beer because my license had a crack in it. I kid you not. I am a 45 year old business man. I asked to speak to the manager, and a blonde female came over, looked at my drivers license and said that since it has a crack in it, it was not valid identification. Lucky for me a Fayetteville police officer was in Sams club parking lot. He told me that my ID was not only valid, but that minor crack did not mean a thing. He laughed and said seriously they said your license was not valid. I am extremely disappointed in the genuine lack of customer care, and the pure stupidity of the manager in trying to interpret their idea of the law. RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!!!!

My rating is based solely on the food. I enjoyed the atmosphere (very clean, and everything was brand new since this was just built a few months ago), and the server was fine. They have three different kinds of barbecue sauce on the table for you to use: original, spicy, and vinegar. They were all very good. We had the spare ribs, pulled pork, chicken quarter, fries, cornbread, Mac n cheese, and cheese fritters. All the meat was dry, except for the chicken. You can probably get better ribs at Walmart. It was hard to swallow the corn bread without water, and it didn't have much of a taste. The Mac n cheese was like something you would get out of a box. The cheese fritters were pretty good. You get four of them with the appetizer, and a honey mustard sauce to dip them in (the honey mustard was actually quite excellent). I'm really not one to criticize, though my review makes it seem that way. They may have just had a bad day, but this was my experience.

It was our first time here and my experience exceeded expectations. We started with the BBQ nachos for an appetizer. It was HUGE! It's def an appetizers for three or more ppl. I had the half rack of baby back ribs with Mac and cheese and baked beans. The Mac and cheese was thick and creamy. The baked beans left a little to be desired; the sauce was 'thin' and under seasoned but still 'passable'. My husband opted for the full rack of baby backs with Mac and cheese and okra... OMG THE OKRA WAS DELISH! (I ate all of his lol). The baby backs were fall off the bone tender and well seasoned. We also had the top self long islands ($9 each) they were (surprisingly) good as well. Katie, our server was awesome! The manager was very friendly. I will DEFINITELY be back and recommend this place to others.

We were really excited about this but it turned out to be just ok. The pork rinds were good but the bbq sauces weren't that great. I had the ribs and they were just standard.

Started off rocky; however, we were pleasantly satisfied in the end. Went here instead of Smokey Bones tonight because the reviews were better. Made it in about 5:30pm...definitely beat the dinner rush. The cheese fritters were pretty tasty. We waited for quite some time for our food. The table of three next to us, came in after us and were all served their racks of ribs before our meal came. My husband and I ordered the brisket squealer sandwich to share (full pound of meat with their spiciest sauce and fries). The portions were generous and the meat was very moist. Although, the meat was on the fatty side for us. We mentioned it to the manager when he came by and asked how everything was and he immediately addressed the issue. I showed him the layer of fat on the meat. He said that most the fat should have been trimmed and offered us a new sandwich. We didn't want to be a bother and have a new sandwich made but he took the sandwich off the bill and treated us to a delectable bread pudding with caramel sauce made with Krispy Kreme donuts! Glad we weren't in a rush tonight and had an overall pleasant experience. We'll go back again.

I visited Memphis BBQ company on my way home from a recent business trip. I had time enough for lunch and was craving BBQ so this was a no brainer. I ordered the half slab of baby back ribs with a side of fried okra and red beans and rice plus a small order of the pulled pork (give me a break, it was a cheat day!). I tempered my expectations beforehand (after reading some of the reviews) but it went above and beyond my expectations. The entire meal was devoured within seconds and I didn't care that I burned my tongue and soft palate hahaha. The fried okra tasted like it did NOT come out of a bag and they were tender and crispy. The red beans and rice were savory and flavorful as they used their own pork BBQ to flavor it. The ribs and pulled pork were porky, delicious, mouth-watering, and definitely amazing. I had the option of three different sauces and I opted for the sweet and spicy one which enhanced the flavors of the BBQ just so that it made the meal that much more amazing. The staff were friendly and as it was early lunch time, I had no problem getting seated immediately nor did the food take long. I will defnitely be returning when I'm in the area again! PS. They offered a side of pork rinds while I waited but I respectfully declined as I didn't need to elevate my cholesterole levels any more than it was going to be after the meal hahaha.

The brisket was delicious! Vanessa was my server and went above and beyond the call of service to take care of my family when we went there. Everything from the pork rinds that was served as we waited for our meal, the cheese fritters, fried green tomatoes were absolutely amazing. I had the pitmaster platter which came with ribs, pork and brisket along with 2 sides suggested from Vanessa. Everything was amazing and I will definately be back along with the rest of my family. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE WHO LOVES REAL BBQ!

The atmosphere was just that of a nicer BBQ restaurant. The staff was nice but slightly bothered, they may have been really busy or short staff. The pulled pork was good, tasted good and the meat quality was meat not fat. The sausage was very good, good taste. I would visit again, but just nothing that made this place stand out.

Very disappointed. From the rock hard bacon bits on the salad, oversalted inedible turnip greens, and dry brisket this was not what I was expecting. My husbands rack of ribs was so tough he had to chew each bite over a minute and the rub is oversalted as well. Way overpriced and not very good. *** Additional info: I wrote this while we were sitting there. The manager came over and took our comments, apologized and comp'd our meals. We will give it another chance, as it was early in the day and maybe we just got a new cook - but we will go into it with eyes open.

We both had baby back ribs, excellent! Came with a "fresh - hot" baked potato and a salad which was very fresh.Be careful of the Ceaser salad,it's pretty fishy but good. Attentive wait staff, service was fast even during a busy time of the day. Solid 4 stars and reasonable prices.

So its located next to the Walmart on Skibo, right where the O'charleys use to be. The waitstaff was extremely slow. My cup stayed empty for a long time. They bring complimentary pork skins to the table, which seem like they got them out of a bag from a local grocery store or maybe even the walmart next door :). (I've been to someplace that had fresh ones and they were sooooo yummy). I ordered a pulled pork sandwich because i love love love pulled pork. Let's just say t wasn't so pulled. It seemed like a slab of meat that had been pulled apart and then put in the freezer and cooked and didnt unthaw properly or something. It was a mess. It was extremely bland tasting. I understand it's memphis styled bbq and not carolina but i had to use what seemed liked a cup of the sauce that they had on the table to make it taste half way decent. The macaroni and cheese is horrible, that must be memphis styled too. There was no real taste to it, couldn't even taste the cheese. I guess you can see that I wont be going here anymore.

This place was amazing! My husband and I had it the other night. We started with the nachos, which was such a great choice. They were huge! The meat just melted in your mouth I have never had nachos that good! Then we ordered baby back ribs to share and my daughter had got the mac n cheese. It was beyond delish! We are from out of town and have eaten out while we have been here and this place is by far the best in town!!

We sat at the bar. It was lunch time. The bartender was also our server as the bar was quiet. We had a dish of pork rinds brought out to us. They were quite tasty. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. They were piping hot and very good. The main course was the sampler for each of us. I had delicious dry rubbed baby back ribs. They were nicely seasoned very meaty and tender. We also had brisket pulled pork and smoked turkey. All were delicious. As were the sides of turnip greens and baked beans. I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews. I have been here a few times when visiting. It's always one of the highlights of my trip

I like the pulled pork and the brisket was made to perfection which is very hard to make perfect. The only thing I was not to keen on is that the barbacue sauce wasn't exactly all that great feels like it was missing. The service was great also just felt a little rushed in hurrying up to eat and paying my bill quickly. Overall great food I highly recommend it.

I really do not know what some of these other reviewers experienced, but my boyfriend and I went here for "date night" and then came back three weeks in a row because we were so impressed with the food and service. There wasn't anything we ordered that was bad, and the BBQ Nacho platter as the appetizer was something from Heaven. As a fan of miswest BBQ (not into the NC style BBQ at all) I was thrilled to get quality meat the way I like it. And I do like it......

Seriously disappointing service! Ordered food to go the night before our road trip back home. We placed an $80 order (plus tip) and upon returning back to where we were staying on Fort Bragg (20 minutes from the restaurant) we realized they had left out the most expensive item we ordered...the $23 ribs. Making another 40 minute round trip to go back to the restaurant the night before a 6 hour road trip was out of the question, but the manager on duty offered no other solution, and told us we would have to speak to the GM the following morning. The next morning, we spoke to the GM and told him what happened, he said he would look up our ticket when the restaurant opened and call us back...that was four days ago. What food we did have was excellent, but that means absolutely nothing when you're not willing to correct your mistake. I would have appreciated Memphis BBQ Company sending us a check for the amount of the ribs, I mean we're not talking about $5 here, we're talking about $23. One time, Chick-fil-a forgot one of our meals and we didn't want to drive all that way back and they actually delivered us the meal they forgot!!! Now that's customer service and a fast food restaurant nonetheless, Memphis BBQ could learn a thing or two from them.

We actually found Memphis BBQ co. On yelp and decided since we had no BBQ experience in NC this would be a good place to check out. I had the baby back ribs wet with coleslaw and Mac and cheese, my husband had the BBQ combo platter with pulled pork and brisket. His pulled pork was yummy! My ribs were slide off the bone tender and just wonderful. I love ribs when the sauce is sticky and caramelized on them. For sides my husband had red beans and rice, grits and Mac and cheese...he originally ordered the grits but they sent red beans and rice so we got a spare free side. The red beans and rice were insanely good. I could go and just have a bowl of that and be a happy girl. My coleslaw was nothing to write home about but I'm pretty picky about coleslaw so I wasn't surprised by that. The cornbread needed some sugar in the batter to sweeten it up a little too, maybe that's just a Canadian thing. Restaurant was clean bright and our waitress Allison was great too. I am definitely going back again and again.

Went to Memphis BBQ for the 1st time this Saturday evening, mid-month pay time. Seating was immediate, service was prompt and courteous tea glass was never empty. Had baby back ribs, excellent choice, fall off the bone tender. Baked potato was what I always look for....steaming hot like they just made it!! Wife liked the coleslaw, I had the Cesar salad which had a "very strong" dressing. All in all, we'll visit again and recommend to others too.

Today my wife and I tried Memphis BBQ Company at their new location in Fayetteville, NC. I'm an avid BBQer myself (I have a 600 pound David Klose pit on my patio, as well as a Bradley Smoker), and a fan of BBQ Pitmasters, where I first learned about Melissa Cookston and her Mississippi restaurant. Wanted to give it a try. Location: Memphis BBQ Company (MBC) is located in a former O'Charley's restaurant. Having dined at O'Charley's before it closed, it appears they didn't update the interior all that much. Tables and booths appear to be the same and in the same locations, as well as the bar area. They did enclose the kitchen area, which had been semi open. The exterior was well maintained and of course the signage was new. Time of visit: 21 Jan 13, approximately 4:30 P.M. Ambiance: Not much different from when it was an O'Charley's. They do have Melissa's BBQ Championship trophies on display prominently above the kitchen area. Tables and booths are a dark wood color, as is the flooring. Lighting was soft, but comfortable. Three signature sauces (spicy, vinegar, and regular) were on the table, along with smaller placards for desserts, catering, etc. On a table of the size we were seated at, perhaps those placards weren't necessary. Service: As the restaurant wasn't all that busy at this time of day, we were greeted promptly, and led to a small booth for two (just me and my wife). Server was right with us, and brought drinks quickly. She didn't smile much, though she was attentive and efficient. Our orders were taken quickly, and our food (the cheese appetizer, and two BBQ sampler plates with cole slaw, mac and cheese, and cornbread) arrived quickly. Perhaps too quickly, which leads me to .... Food: As an avid watcher of BBQ Pitmasters, I was really looking forward to some championship 'cue. What I got was far less than that. I ordered the pulled pork and brisket as my choices for my sampler plate - and was underwhelmed. Both arrived with sauce on them (why put sauces on the table if you're going to sauce them anyway?), but it didn't help much. Both were dry, dry, dry. Even putting extra sauce on them (a lot of extra sauce) couldn't make up for their dryness. Texture was OK on both initially, but once I started to chew, the lack of moisture and fat content became evident. I'm guessing that they pre-chopped the pork and pre-sliced the brisket way ahead of time and held them, leading to dry meat. I'm not a BBQ expert, but I've done BBQ in my backyard that wasn't this dry. Granted, they are doing it in volume, but I have to think that something ain't right somewhere. Maybe teething pains as a new location, but geez, for someone who is a BBQ Grand Champion, I expected a lot more from the BBQ itself. Sides were actually the better part of the meal. The mac and cheese, while not creamy was good. The cornbread was probably the best thing on the plate - moist, with a nice crust, and just a hint of sweetness. The coleslaw? It's apparent they don't salt the cabbage and let it drain out extra liquid as there was a pool of liquid in the bottom of the monkey dish, telling me that they just dressed the cabbage and left it at that. As for the slaw's flavor, it tasted like something one can buy at Sam's Club in a tub - nothing remarkable here. Also, the pork rinds, while a nice touch, aren't that much of an upgrade over what you can buy in a bag. Overall, I left very disappointed, primarily with the food. I had high expectations, but they just weren't met. I'll probably go back in a few months to see if anything's been improved though - not fair not to give them another shot after a while.

I am impressed. The food was good (got the squealer) and the service was very friendly, but I am most impressed with the "spicy sauce" that came with the squealer. It was actually spicy. I eat a lot of spicy things so it was refreshing to finally get something actually spicy in a restaurant!! So for that alone they get my 5 stars.

I had the BBQ Meatloaf with a side of baked beans and mac-n-cheese. The Mac-n-Cheese needed some help but the baked Beans were delish. The star of the show was the BBQ Meatloaf! It was tender and the sauce was awesome. Its not your mothers Meatloaf, this stuff is actually good. Oh and last and certainly least. The sweet tea. OMG it was horrible. How the F$%k can you screw up tea so badly is beyond comprehension. Good thing the BBQ was good or this place would be an after thought.

Service was great. Our server went above and beyond to make all of us comfortable and even suggested different ways to try the cheese fritters. Which weren't half bad either. Could have used another minute in the frier to melt the cheese better but still good. Bacon Burger was better than average places, pulled pork and ribs were really good. The fries were just blah, frozen fries. Mac and cheese was really cheesy. The floors and tables had a really greasy feel and didn't seem clean. Overall not a bad place. The service really made it for me.

Good staff but limited beer selection with no available drink list. Friends said their brisket was incredible. My margarita was weak and loaded with sour mix. The 'favorite' BBQ nachos were not loaded as we hoped.

First visit here as I'm new to the neighborhood. Started off with pork rinds, which was a surprise. I don't mind pork rinds, but I would've preferred buttermilk biscuits or something along those lines when it comes to southern BBQ. Boyfriend and I shared a combo platter with pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. We ordered sides of veggies, BBQ pasta, and 2 pieces of cornbread. The pulled pork and brisket were good. Tender and moist. The ribs fell off the bone, but the meat was a bit dry, which leads me to believe that maybe the meat had been sitting out for a while. BBQ spaghetti was just too much and not my favorite. Spaghetti was a bit mushy and the BBQ sauce with the pasta was too sweet. I don't think their BBQ sauces really stood out in any way. There was no real kick, heat, or zing. The cornbread was delicious though. We also ordered the bread pudding dessert, which was the best part. Warm and the caramel sauce was an excellent touch. Service was good and friendly. It's not a bad restaurant, but I wouldn't come back, because I've had better BBQ. Nothing about this place really stood out to me.

Went to Memphis BBQ for lunch. Got a table right away and my drink was almost there before I was. Off to a good start. Got a menu and looked it over. Had a good variety of BBQ type meals, sides, etc. I decided on a pulled pork sandwich with fries and potato salad, cole slaw on the side. After placing my order, I was given a basket of fried pork rinds. OK, I know they are really popular around here, but I just don't really like them. I used them to try the three different types of BBQ sauce at the table. Original - a kind of sweet, traditional sauce; Spicy - almost like the Original, but with a little heat; and Vinegar - kind of a watered down original, watered down with vinegar. I didn't much care for any of them. My sandwich came out and it was a good hand full of sandwich. However, it had the original sauce already on it. Now why put sauce on it when you are giving folks a choice at their table. Just give it to me plain and let me decide. I got the slaw on the side. Slaw was basic rough cut, as opposed to the KFC or Smithfield or BBQ Hut, fine chop. I liked it, but it wasn't anything special. The fries were hot and crisp - just regular fries. The potato salad was pretty good, except for the peels left on the potatoes. Why WHY WHY do restaurants think people want potato peel left on their potatoes in potato salad, or lumps in their mashed potatoes. I know, it makes it seem more like "Home made". Except for the fact that from what I've seen, folks usually peel their potatoes and mash the lumps out of the mashed potatoes. I read in another review that the potato salad was ranch dressing based... who knew????? Service was right there when needed. Comfortable atmosphere. Reasonably priced. I'll go back...

I visited Memphis BBQ on a Thursday with my cousin. The meal was delicious. The brisket will melt in your mouth and the potato salad was the bomb. Our waiter Chad was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!. He knew the menu like the back of his hand, he gave great suggestions and everything he recommended was good. He also gave us a little history about the place. Chad made us feel welcomed and at home with our meals. We decided not to get dessert but when Chad described the bread pudding we could not refuse. TWO THUMBS UP TO CHAD. I will definitely be visiting again.

Just had a 1/2 rack of there 7 time World Champion Baby Backs. There is no doubt that the tropheys are real!! The dry rub was great by itself but add a dose of the spicy sauce and it went over the top. The sides were just as good, and at a very reasonable price. The staff was great too!

Our family enjoyed enjoyed our lunch at MBC today with 3 kids ranging in age from 14 - 5. The service was great. The food was very good. BBQ stuffed potato, ribeye steak, BBQ nachos, and child portions of ribs were a hit. We had very quick service from point of order to the point of tabling our order and consistently with a smile from our server. All of the BBQ dishes were flavorful and the steak had a great charcoal flavor. I was very skeptical of visiting this establishment but very glad we gave it a try. The only negative was minor but detracts from the initial opinion of the staff / restaurant. The personalities of the hostess / greeting staff were not overly professional, pleasant or compelling to wait the 10 - 20 minute wait.
