I come here all the time to grab dinner and check out what is in the Redbox. This Subway is located in a gas station so I can fill up the tank while I am there too. The staff is always friendly and the service is quick and with a smile. The food is fresh and always delicious!

My fiancé and I weren't sure what to expect when we saw this place. They had a very inviting storefront, and friendly staff. Pro tip: there is no wait staff at this restaurant. You need to go right up to the counter and order. There aren't any signs to tell you that, but trust me, you don't want to sit down and look foolish. I ordered the "big hot pastrami" sandwich, which despite it's name, you need to tell them if you want it to be hot. There is a charming assortment of vegetables and sauces to choose from, I was impressed at the regulars who got basically a salad put on top of their entree. I recommend brown mustard and pickles with the "big hot pastrami". My fiancée got something called the bacon chicken ranch on flatbread, which again, in spite of its name needed you to ask for the ranch. There was an impressive array of chips available as sides for my meal, and you can just grab them from almost anywhere in te restaurant. It's like they decorate with chips or something. I got baked lays originals, because they said they were less calories. They sure were, because I didn't eat any chips after the first chip. Yuck! I was lucky my fiancée had the better sense to get something called cooler ranch Doritos. These are a fantastic complement to any sandwich. Bravo, subway! Once we finished our meal, it was time to bring on the dessert! Now, you have the option of buying dessert when you order your meal, but who wants to look greedy? The white chocolate and macadamia nut cookie was the perfect follow up to our delicious meal. Now, this restaurant does not serve alcohol, but it can be byob provided you don't let the staff see you. 5 stars, we had a great meal and you can too!

Miss Sadie’s Gullah Cuisine

5242 Murchison Rd
Fayetteville, 28311
Reviews:
Gullah cuisine is not something you typically find this far north in the Carolinas, nor is it necessarily something that most people know about in general, but this Lowcountry style of cooking is distinct when compared to your run-of-the-mill Southern cuisine, and Miss Sadie's is absolutely a place to visit if you otherwise unfortunately find yourself in the Fayetteville area. The restaurant's not in a good part of the city. It was almost completely empty during the lunch hour of my visit, and yet Miss Sadie (maybe not the actual Miss Sadie but don't ruin my dreams) standing there, ready to welcome me with open arms and show me what she had cooking that day. It was served cafeteria-style in that everything was already made and sitting in warming trays, but it was largely stew bases, and those keep well in this type of environment, so I didn't mind. She stood there and walked me through the entire menu, providing me with samples of everything as she explained it. There was something like a chicken fried steak that didn't look awesome sitting there, but she led with her butter chicken, and sweet-savory stew featuring large chunks of chicken that was her signature dish and also something I knew I was going to have even before I walked in the door. She also showed me her spicy chicken dish, but that one was more one-note with a lot of flavor coming from the apple cider vinegar that everyone uses, so I stuck to the classics. Served with some cornbread and greens, it was picture-perfect. And then, she offered me the house drink - RED KOOL-AID - for free. Presumably because she liked my face. As someone who has become accustomed to the taste of diet drinks, the super-sweet drink didn't immediately appeal to me, but lord, did I like the fact she serves it. Straight up,. Miss Sadies is a place you need to visit, if not only to get a glimpse of a culture you wouldn't otherwise find in this city, but because the food is good and plentiful, and the people serving it are out of this world.
