We are so bored with the limited food and drink options of Whitefish and the larger Flathead Valley. The tourist come through in droves during the peak Summer and Winter seasons. Tired from their travels or busy excursions to many of the nearby outdoor destinations. Clamoring for a place to sit, rest, and be merry. So the little bit of competition we do have is largely negated. Don't expect much in the way of buybacks, specials, sizzling deals, or eateries being forced to provide outstanding cuisine in order to stay alive. This seems to apply to all of the area businesses. Collusion? Price setting? Who knows. One thing is for sure, the food scene changes very slowly, if at all. To the review... I have not been a big fan of the Craggy Range in the past, but our most recent visit was relatively pleasant. We ordered a Caesar salad which my Wife said was about 3.5 stars. The salad included a few slices of thin lightly toasted and seasoned bread with a few slices of tomatoes on the side. Not required but we appreciated the effort to mix things up a bit. Sadly the tomatoes had not been ripe, still green in some spots, which was a bit disappointing since it is the end of July. The salad did appear to be made to order. The sweet potato spinach salad was very good. What one would expect from a dinner salad, made to order and substantial. See the photo for details. The sweet potatoes had been nicely cut with fresh red grapes mixed in. Appropriate amounts of other ingredients had been incorporated to create a good blend of flavors. The spinach may have been sitting out for a bit longer than it should have in the kitchen. Not wilted by any means but have lost a little bit of it's crunch. I was informed the vinaigrette dressing was made in house. Four and half stars. Given the lack of vegetarian salad options in the Whitefish area, this was a win. For the the petite ladies out there, this salad can likly be shared by two. Service was very youthful but clearly working exceptionally well under what seemed like discreet leadership. Young staffers moving quickly about keeping all the water glass from falling below the halfway point, and doing so without being obtrusive. Meals came out quickly but not so fast to cause me to wonder if they just pulled them out of the fridge. If anything, the bustling staff may want to just make a bit more eye contact with patrons. If for no other reason to slow them down just a tad. Overall four stars. Enjoy!

We were in town over the weekend and came here twice. The first night we came for dinner and drinks in the bar and had great service from our bartender. He had a full bar, everyone ordering food and drinks and he was quick and attentive! He deserves 5 stars. As we walked out I said wow that guy was a great bartender and the food was just what we were looking for! On our next visit we went for lunch and beers. As we sat down at the bar a couple guys next to us were leaving and we heard them talking about the poor service and they did not leave a tip! I couldn't believe they didn't leave her a cent! I'm thinking they were just some jerks who never worked in the service industry. We definitely wanted to stay and give her a chance. The bar was only half full. We ordered beers, she never asked if we wanted another round. We got food, she never checked in. I had to flag down another girl to get a glass of water. We watched other people come up to the bar to order drinks, frustrated that she didn't talk to them, they walked out of the bar and left the restaurant. When we asked for our check, another 10 minutes went by as some of her friends came in she was chatting them up and pouring their beers. Cesar salad was not good BTW. I think she could be a good bartender and be able to make more money if she would be just a little more speedy at multitasking and be sure to keep making eye contact with everybody at the bar!

The place to go in Whitefish! After a long day in a Glacier we went here for dinner. Food was super good. Bleu Cheese burger and sweet potato fries. They give you maple syrup with the sweet potato fries! It's amazing. Service was excellent and professional. Go here over Casey's.

  • Laurel O.

Staying in the area while visiting Glacier we decided to stop in for happy hour. The beer offerings were great, but the service left a lot to be desired. We ordered poutine which was ok, and our dinner was pretty good. I had the Mac n cheese which was not real cheesy. My husband had the meatloaf, which he devoured, so I guess it was great :)

This place has some delicious food! I ordered the fish and chips, and while it was tasty, I wish I had ordered one of their burgers which looked insane, and tasted as such. We had appetizer mussels and these prime rib steak bites with a blue cheese dipping sauce - both appys were very tasty! The prices were a bit high, but the service was great, and the food was really tasty. Overall it was a fun night out.

Burger was delicious. Service was really slow. We paid $2 to "upgrade" to sweet potato fries and got maybe 15 fries total. Super bummer. Other than that great local Montana beer selection. And live music!

    (4)
  • Tina B.

Fabulous food and we lucked out and caught part of their local music festival, too. Started with Jalapeño margaritas (house infused tequila with jalapeño and mango purée with a pickled jalapeño garnish) and black and bleu bites - blackened prime rib bites with a bleu cheese sauce - delicious. Then a Smokey Stone burger - smoked stone ground mustard, burger cooked just right and topped with bacon and a slice of smoked mozzarella. Wow! Finished with caramel, butterscotch creme brûlée. Amazing. Service was great, live music on the patio was great and family friendly, too.

I had the wings as an appetizer and the fish and chips as a entree. The wings were pretty good. The fries were soggy, and the fish was over seasoned. The meal was uninspired. I will try somewhere else and not return.

This restaurant is in the middle of town. We ate on the patio and were very comfortable. The service was good. The beer choices were good (we really liked the Wheatfish) and the food was good. If you want a simple, tasty meal, you will like this place.

Great menu, Fabulous service. We were a large party with three kids and the experience was awesome. Our server got our drinks right out and our dinners were served quickly. My wife and I shared a big southern type salad and some wings. Both were great Can't wait to return.

This place is really good! We ordered the Molokai Burger with sweet potato fries and it was delicious! In my opinion best burger I ever had! We recommend the southwest chicken rolls as an appetizer as well.

I went to this sports bar to watch the NBA finals and that's about the only thing I enjoyed...and the local beers I guess. I sat down at the bar and wasn't greeted for 5+ minutes, and they were not very hospitable once they came. I ordered the blackened catfish sandwich and it had absolutely ZERO flavor and I ate about a 1/4 of it. Maybe this was a one off cause they have decent reviews but I would recommend trying something else. Game was good though :)

After previously having a not-so-great experience, the management at Craggy Range reached out to me and invited me back for a dinner date with my wife--on the house. That was a very classy move. Our experience this time was wonderful. Even before who we were, the staff were much more professional, friendly, and attentive. Within 60 seconds of sitting down, they already had water on our table. We had our food in LESS than 10 minutes. As for quality, the food was excellent. We ordered a burger which was amazing. We also ordered one of their steaks, and I would argue that it was one of the best I've ever had. I'm happy to say that I would return, not only because they tried to make it right after our last experience, but also because I could feel a difference before they even knew who we were (so it wasn't just fake service). Thanks to the manager Sara who made it a great date night for my wife and I to enjoy.

My go to place in Whitefish. Great food every time, and the french fries are so addicting. For the most part, service is very quick and everyone is friendly. During busy seasons though make sure you make a reservation. Can get packed. Only reason there isn't a 5th star is because I have encountered really slow service when it wasn't crazy busy yet. I do have to say that there were other waiters who were willing to help me while I was waiting.

  • Aprameya R.

4 stars for Whitefish. Easily the best dinner experience in our three nights in Glacier NP! The drinks had a solid measure of alcohol and the wife's cocktail (the Pimm's cup) was well made. We had the Asian Tuna Sliders which had a very nice ginger-y taste. For entrée we had the Salmon which was not perfect (probably just a touch overcooked) but still very nice. The service was very good as well, our waters were filled and the gentleman had great sense of timing - leaving us alone when we were in intimate conversation. Overall, good food and I would go here again.

We ate this last week on the patio. It was warm but they do have misters. I had a half of chicken southwest salad and after sharing the nacho delicious appetizer I couldn't finish my salad. The waitress Ruth was friendly and attentive. We have dined her many times and always leave satisfied!

    (5)
  • Karen R.

We had a great dinner, service was excellent and the Ginger and Pearfessor is a great drink! We had sweet potato fries and they are served with maple syrup. we asked for horseradish and mixed it with ketchup and man they like it spicy! Which is a good thing.

Have the Baked Mac & Cheese or the Chicken Fried Chicken. Delicious!!! Great friendly service!

    (4)
  • Leslie S.

Sadly disappointed. 1.5 hours to get through the meal. Service was quite slow. Medium rare steak was well done and black and blue salad had numerous blackened lettuce leaves. I don't believe that was what they meant by a black and blue salad. Management needs to pay particular attention to the employees as things were less than stellar. It wasn't busy at the time either.

My family and I ate here 2 times while vacationing in Whitefish. Overall, great food and great experience. Highly recommend enjoying the patio.

Awesome food! Excellent service from our Bartender Nikki and server Kate! They were closing when we arrived with a group of over 20 people when they agreed to stay open and let us order food and dine in! Amazing experience all around!

Food is always good. Worth the drive to whitefish. Unfortunately today they lost our order and we waited a very long time for our lunch. They did compensate by bringing some free appetizers which was appreciated.

My husband and I decided to drive to see Whitefish and stopped to grab a meal. We chose The Craggy Range based on yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. I'm a vegetarian and sometimes find it difficult to find great food while traveling. While they don't have many vegetarian options, the sweet potato sandwich was amazing! Great service, relaxed atmosphere, good drinks and food that made my tastebuds and tummy happy. Thank you!

I really can't believe this has an overall 4 star rating. I use Yelp all over the continent and I have never been this badly duped into thinking I was going to a good restaurant. Whoever these 5 star reviewers are I don't know, but I do think they need to get out of the house a bit more. I blame them for tricking me into thinking this place was going to be half decent, even for whitefish. But here are a few more specific issues I had with this restaurant: 1) This is not a restaurant. It has the feel of a nightclub that decided to serve shitty food at high prices to make a little more money before they open to DJs, Gin and Tonics, and bumping and grinding. 2) The food here is, at best, bad food masked in butter, cream, and oil. Even the Mac'n Cheese, which let's be honest is really easy to make, was not very cheesey, it was excessively oily, and was excessively covered in sriracha sauce. 3) The service is really bad. I'm not sure if we came at a shift change or what. They certainly did not appear to be short staffed since there were more servers standing around near the kitchen than there were customers attempting to enjoy their dining experience. Suffice it to say that we waited a really long time for a greeting, for our drinks, for our order, for our food, and then what was delivered was not actually what we ordered. The spinach artichoke dip did not have artichoke in it; they actually forgot one person's main course dish altogether so had to go through the whole "we'll expedite that for you sir and take care of that for you" thing. I wish there were a way to convince everyone in the world that this is not a 4 star restaurant. Maybe it's a 2.5 star Burger Joint/Night Club (my sister said the burger was actually pretty good), but I have to rate it 1 star in an attempt to bring the average down and make people be skeptical of its positioning as a fine dining experience.

5 stars for the Southern Range Burger, it met all my expectations of a good burger, so many flavors going on with this combination of goodness yet I could still appreciate the taste of higher quality ground beef. I really liked the soft fresh Ciabatta bun. The sweet potato fries were a great add on. Very attentive caring staff, much unlike our visit to Casey's down the street which was a flop on all accounts besides decor and ambiance. Loved it, I wanted a good hand made burger with great ingredients and Craggy Range delivered, thank you for a great experience to end on here at beautiful Whitefish.

Service was top notch! Brent playing on the patio, kids on the Korn-hole and fuse-ball, the patio vibe was excellent. The black and blue bites were incredible and the entree's delicious. I only wish this establishment was in Closer to home and not 7 states away. The service and food were high quality for such a casual place- something hard to find-and so appreciated when found!

For Montana, this place is 5 stars. Elsewhere it would be 4 stars, but it's all relative. We started with the nachos - this was so big it was a meal on its own! Even better, the chips were seasoned with something amazing. Don't pass this up. We also had the veggie sandwich, which was about the best such thing we'd had anywhere. I wish we'd been in town for longer - there were so many more things that we wanted to try!

So good we center back two nights in a row! We were having a ski vacation at nearby Whitefish mountain resort and wanted to find something good to eat in town. This place has a bar front area and a sit down rear. The sit down section closes earlier, but the bar area accommodates families, and still offers the full menu. A great menu selection of burgers, salads, and steak and fish entrees. Our party tried a number of different items, and all were delicious and generous. Burgers were great, with crispy seasoned fries. But the best thing I had was the sirloin steak with shiitake mushroom Demi glacé. Omg so good. Staff was friendly, with a very laid back atmosphere. Super!

  • Troy N.

Slow service, mediocre food, staff walking around the restaurant eating food and cold air blowing on us. I don't think I will be back. Also...what is with the suggested tipping scheme in Whitefish? 25%? That is pretty ridiculous.

Great food! One of the best lunch spots in whitefish. Staff was great and food was even better. Will be coming back for seconds.

I went here on a local's recommendation, and I was not disappointed! Good MT beer on tap, all the food was delicious. I had a sandwich, sweet fries and a salad and enjoyed it all. Service in the bar was right on. I hope I can return to Whitefish some day and do it all again!

  • Dawn A.

Sat in the bar/lounge for lunch. Excellent service. The bartender was quick, professional, and informative! I had the reuben which was okay. My husband had the steak salad...steak portion was very small. He had a local beer that the bartender suggested which he enjoyed. Ambience was great. Loved the bluegrass tunes playing in the background. I would visit this place again.

So tasty!! Will be back. It is a must to eat here if your visiting. All kinds of choices for all tastes.

Only one star - for the one vegetarian option it has. The vegetarian sandwich is pretty good - it's a sweet potato sandwich on good bread with a tasty dipping sauce. I got the bean and rice soup one time and it was awful. Can be loud too, if there's a game on. I heard this restaurant is owned by a billionaire who sued the residents of Whitefish after he poisoned the lake.

  • Jennifer J.

We stopped in because we wanted to sit on the patio for love music. The beer and drink selection was good and the staff was great. The food was good but not excellent. But I lost all appetite when I looked down to see a roach or some other big bug crawling on my lap. I get we are outside and bugs can't be controlled but that was just too close for comfort while dining.

  • Kiki L.

Nothing too exciting about the menu. Of all the restaurants we tried while in whitefish for a week I could skip this one completely. All 3 of our party had burgers, they weren't overtly bad it just wasn't good. Nobody finished their food. Service was below average as well.

We had a great experience at the Craggy Range. We were in a huge hurry and the server was very accommodating. We thought the food was great. The floors in the soup were subtle yet tasty and the pretzel dish was sinful. Overall, we felt warm, welcomed and satisfied in this cold climate...a nice little respite.

Chance stop in really worked out well for us. Loved the beer choices and the availability of local brews. My pulled pork was respectable, fries were amazing...the highlight: Cassie in the bar... So sweet and friendly and welcoming.

I don't get it,,, Where do these 5star reviewers eat? Frozen fish? Check Frozen Steak? Check. (yes i asked) Frozen Mussels? Check Canned black bean? Check. Frozen in the bag french frys? Check. It is a shame because the restaurant is good looking and the outside patio a plus. The staff was friendly and decor pleasant. The food however is mediocre. If i am wrong about all the Frozen food, maybe the manager can correct my post. Sorry, but i feel i wasted a hundred bucks and a night out.

We have been to Craggy's several times and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is great as are the food and drinks. My favorite drinks here are the Jalapeño Margarita and the Tourist Trap. They have an excellent menu selection with literally something for everyone. The Black and Bleu bites are amazing!! The staff is friendly and helpful. One of my favorite places in Whitefish!

French Dip is amazing! Comes with bacon. We were visiting from out of town and we went there twice and my husband and I ordered them each time. Was too good to try anything else! Well, I guess we did share their Mac n cheese which was also delicious!

Wonderful hamburger with horseradish Havarti cheese and bacon, plenty of food and great outdoor seating will be back there again!

My husband had the Ropa Viaja; beef and beans excellent, rice very mushy. I had the Cragy Dip sandwich with fries. The sandwich was very good and the wait staff very friendly. Service was fast. We sat on the patio but there was not enough shade. After about 10 minutes in the sun I asked to move to an empty table nearby. The staff said "no problem" and we moved ourselves.

Great selection of beer on tap, full bar to boot. Lots of big TVs with sports on in the bar area. A great place to watch the game, that isn't shoulder to shoulder like some places. You can usually talk. Music a couple of nights a week. The food is good, not amazing, but always good. I love their Ahi sliders. You can eat a tables in the bar area of the dining room for a more formal setting. Outdoor seating in the back.

Decent food. Mediocre staff. Maybe it had been a rough night but when we got there at 8 it seemed like all the staff were not happy to be there. It wasn't horrible but could be a sign of trouble coming. Be warned. Still, food was good so big thanks to the kitchen staff!

Amazing French Dip! I've never had it made the way they do and I probably won't until I return here. The fries were really great as well. My friend had the burger with blue cheese and she loved it - she got the sweet potato fries and said they were good as well. Our waiter was great and very attentive. Since it was my birthday he brought us a free dessert which was tasty as well. The back patio was very cute and if it wasn't raining it would have been great to sit out there.

Pretty good beer selection. Had wings, TERRIBLE! Also had brisket, it was all probably from Costco. Honestly I wouldn't doubt if everything was from Costco with some sort generic sauce from Safeway. Go somewhere else!

Yummy Mac n cheese. LArge menu and food all looked good. Friendly staff and good service. Burgers and sliders were consumed entirely by table next to us. Heard no complaints ! Prices were reasonable and they have drink specials too.

The best thing about the Craggy is it's large outdoor patio in the back. It is such a nice place to just chill and listen to some live music while misters mounted above you gently waft down a cooling mist to refresh you on a hot Summer day. Inside you will find 2 bars, a stage, dance floor, and seating for dinning. The bar in the back is a bit more intimate and sees less traffic. The bar in the front is definitely the most popular and sees a lot more action. I've never really been one for the back bar as I'm a very social person and prefer to be where all the people are. Also, there are several monitors in the front bar to keep you entertained if the patrons aren't. Great location, great food, great staff, great bar, great patio. What more could you ask for?

Service was absolutely terrible and I come here a lot. There are 4 tables and 3 servers 20 minutes for our first drink, but our server was watching tv so that's prob why. Terrible!

We asked at our hotel where to go for dinner and they sent us here. The menu is typical for a Bar & Grill in North America but offers some interesting specials, too. Our food was good and prices reasonable. We went there twice during our stay. On Saturday evening we had live music. Tip: There is a patio behind the house. P.S.: The cheese cake is very good and the piece is huge!

Just walking on central ave looking to find a place to grab a bite. The menu had a few vegetarian options and then a local just walked past , stating confidently how good the food here was! Decided to take a chance and was not disappointed. Good beer collection. The baked penne was really good, very flavorful and they very able to customize it based on our taste.

Friend and I came in around 2 p.m. and there were people eating in the garden. It was a nice sunny day out only that apparently the restaurant didn't have enough umbrellas for all the tables so we could only sit at the long table under a veil of mist from the roof sprinkler. For burgers, it's build-your-own burgers with sirloin. I had a Portobello Burger which was tasty - never thought of having a veggie burger though:) Friend ordered the special of the day - two sliders and a bean soup. Although the amount of food as small, he seemed happy with his meal. This seems to be a popular restaurant. Soon after we ordered, people streamed in and some were big groups. However, it took a long time to get our food served.

Quality pub food with good service. Burger was great. Served with sweet potato fries with side of maple syrup. Decadently delicious. Only complaint was the front room was noisy-- we moved to a booth in the back room.

Bad service, but generally good food. We went on a Sunday night... There were maybe 5 or 6 other tables but the 2 waitresses seemed overwhelmed. It took our waitress about 15 minutes to bring us our beer. Not ok. We started with the nachos. We requested a half order, but the waitress brought a full order. We didn't complain but it was annoying to also be charged $11 for the full order. That said, the nachos were good. More specifically, the salsa was fantastic! From what I could tell it seemed to be a mango salsa with fresh ginger in it. I've never had ginger in a salsa and it really tasted so fresh and great. The guacamole, however, was bland grocery store green cream stuff. Also not enough cheese on the chips. My dad enjoyed his bleu burger with fried onions on it. I ordered the portobello burger, which was terrible! The portobello was evidently SOAKED in balsamic dressing. I literally had to wring out the mushroom and the amount of dressing coming out of it was just gross. And dumb- portobellos need almost no flavoring at all because they are already so good just plain grilled. So I really didnt understand why they felt the need to marinate it in balsamic. Very bad- they should change it. In fact, I heard another customer complaining about the same thing! Terrible service, they need to have more waitresses working at once.

Hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Moose Drool is cold ... Wings are tastee bbq but slightly undersized. Prime Craggy sandwich with sweet potato ff''s were delicious and so was the steak salad. Service was slow ... but then again ... this is Montana!!

Now that I live in the Flathead and I've had more chances to frequent Craggy, I'm bumping it to 5 stars. The bar staff still recognize us when we come in, which is so nice when you're used to big city anonymity! I feel like a rock star. Great seating out back now that the snow has thawed, rockin' live music, and the burgers! Holy cow! Have a Craggy burger, you won't regret it, and go for the local Blacktail beef.

I have to say I was surprised how great the food was. It's been years since I have had dinner here and past experiences we below par. Our latest visit consisted of five of us and all were very satisfied. Service was great, too. I will be back again.

Love this place. We just went there without a reservation with a large party of about 9 people. The waitress was great, food was great drinks were great and although its priced on the higher end, every bit is worth it! One of my favorite places in the valley. Another time we brought a large party into the bar during a busy time and the waitress was great!

The best ahi sandwich I've ever had. Perfectly crispy french fries that are really well seasoned. Black & blue cheese beef salad was unique but it was the tuna that took top billing. Pints of microbrews are really well priced. Atmosphere is sports bar.

23 May, 2011 This place is pretty chill; typical sports-bar vibe. It was relaxed (Monday evening) and the service was prompt and polite. There are lots of sports on the TVs for you to catch the game. We ordered the nachos as a starter and they were quite tasty. Nothing out of the ordinary (beef, cheese, jalapenos, guacamole, and beans) but it was hot, tasted fresh, and a good serving size. I ordered the Swiss Mushroom Burger and the rest of my party had the Prime Rib Sandwich, the Ruben and the Blackened Salmon. We ordered a mix of Sweet Potato Fries (plus $1) and regular fries. The Swiss Mushroom Burger was very good; the mushrooms were particularly juicy (good if you like it like that). The dressings were fresh and the serving size was large and quite filling. The Ruben was also good; the flavors were quite well balanced. The rye bread was nice and toasted and the sauerkraut had a good bite to it. The Blackened Salmon was also delicious; had strong pepper and lime flavors. The side of asparagus was also good and not over-cooked. Sadly, the Prime Rib Sandwich was not quite as good as the rest of the dishes; the meat was overcooked and to me, it looked like a slice of prime rib placed on sourdough bread. I think there are plenty of other delicious choices so I would recommend skipping this, unless you really must have prime rib. Or, it was just a bad sandwich. The Sweet Potato Fries are good too if you like sweet potato. They add a side of maple syrup which is a nice touch. Unfortunately I was the DD so I didn't taste any of their recreational beverages, but the selection looked ample and I'm fairly sure it wouldn't disappoint. Overall this place has great atmosphere and a relaxed feel; I could see this as an awesome place to wind down after a long day out on the slopes or seeing the glaciers.

There was a mix up with our reservation, but the staff went above and beyond to make up for it. Bonus points for doing do in the middle of two large wedding parties and stress. Food is solid.

Great local beer selection. Had a cheeseburger and it was fantastic. During a busy Sunday the servers were very friendly and all pitched it to help our big 7-party table.

Great patio but with an interesting experience we couldn't quite comprehend. Went there on a summer night and they have set up a mist on the patio to keep you fresh. I would say they over do it as you are soaking wet within 10 min. We didn't quite get that concept. Except for that, decent choices of beer on tap and choices of food for everyone: salads, burgers, steaks, pastas.... We ordered a range of dishes and they were all good.

This place was really cool. We ate here for lunch during a ski break. We just didn't want to stay at the hill for overpriced burgers so we went to town instead. We were the only ones in the bar so we were able to talk to the bartender and she was really friendly and gave us some great tips on dining and some local hot spots. I has the blackned prime-rib salad, and my husband had the ruben. Both really good and perfect with a nice pint of beer. A nice chill place to hang out for some good food and beer to warm you up after or during a long day of skiing.

Good place to get a beer or cocktail. Bartenders are usually pretty cool and attentive. Food was just average, burgers and such are ok, dinner entrees sucked for the part. Staff makes this place for sure, and they alone would warrant a return!

Food was mediocre. Salmon was overlooked and the portobello mushroom burger tasted pickled. The appetizers came out within minutes of the main courses with no apologies from the waitstaff

Had a Craggy Burger for dinner in the bar with a great locally brewed beer. Very good selection of toppings to let you customize your burger. How often do you find Havarti cheese as a topping.....love it.

Kid friendly! They gave our kiddos sidewalk chalk and let them have at it on the patio. Made for a fun meal.

We come here a lot. Its pretty good food, the atmosphere is fun. They have live music pretty often and a full bar. The staff is great... its just not that GREAT a place. Definitely worth the trip though. I love the blue cheese and onion burger, and also the craggy range version of the french dip (warning, unless you specify, they're usually pretty skimpy on the meat.) The regular french fries are flippin awesome. Seriously, better than the sweet potato fries, which are also good. However, they've taken to serving the sweet potato fries with maple syrup, which is a little weird. Tastes like sweet potato fries with maple syrup on them... not much else. Anyway, the prices are decent for Whitefish, just don't expect to be like "holy crap lets come back here..."

Whenever I'm in Whitefish, this is a must do on my list. Awesome place with great food and beer selection! I love the Black and Blue appetizer.

Great food! But big food - split it with a friend so you have room for desert. The cheese cake is what I'd suggest. If you're lucky, you might be there when John Duggan is playing live. We were lucky enough to be there on his b-day. Wonderful set -he's very versatile. Enjoy!

Loved the steaks! My boyfriend loved the peppercorn ribeye. The service was exceptional. Be sure to save room for dessert! We enjoyed the butterscotch creme brulee and huckleberry ice cream...hit the spot!

May 2011. Had burgers and french dip. Heart healthy was good. Dip not so. Fries excellent. Too overpriced for our budget. Probably not a repeat place.

After leaving the rude establishment across the way without eating there, Craggy Range was like a breath of fresh air. Service was great even though they were a little busy and the food was good. Prices are reasonable. Artichoke app was fabulous! Thanks Craggy Range for saving our night!!

This is a nice laid back bar & grill. We stopped in several times while in Whitefish and everything we ordered was very good. Nice place to stop for a drink and a quick meal. Very friendly atmosphere.

Don't waste your time or money on this place. Our party of ten was for dinner on 7/29/11. The waitress was rude, gave us poor service. The shepard's pie ordered by 3 of us was cold and had to be sent back for warming and was not brought back until everyone else was finished. I ordered the soup of the day and when it was not delivered I was told that it was heating up, even though two others had the same soup delivered. I told her to forget it when she brought my main course. My wife ordered a Bud Lite and had to get another waitress to bring it. Although the shepard's pie was discounted because it was cold that was not satisfactory. Go to McDonalds, the service is better, the food is hotter and you get what you ordered.

We were eying this restaurant since we opened up the glossy town-guide. The prices were what you would expect in a resort town, but I guess for Whitefish they are a bit high. The prices are comparable to Red Robins, but the food exceeds the franchise standard, in my opinion. Their burgers are ground sirloin steak, yum. The beer, at least the local brews, rank up there with other good microbrews. The staff was friendly and the bar tender, guy with glasses and scruffy beard and blond waitress were very personable. Overall, we had an excellent meal with good beer and a few levels above the local dives.
