This place is a great authentic Montana restaurant. We stop here usually after skis and hikes in the area. They have the best coconut cream pie, which is a great reward after a big day of hiking or skiing. The service is also great.

Great home cooked food. Ate diner and breakfast while stopped in Bozeman for the night. Friendly staff. Food took a bit long but was worth it.

If we could do half stars, I'd give it 3 1/2 stars. It's a nice local cafe with a typical home cooking style menu, nothing fancy, but what they have is tasty. The porkie sandwich was great... a nice piece of local cusine that you don't find everywhere else in America.

Great dinner, fast and friendly service. Broasted chicken dinner hit the spot. Dinner came with soup and salad bar, choice of potatoe and Texas toast. Hubby had Liver and onions dinner which came with soup and salad bar, mashed potatoes and gravy and Texas toast. Soups are homemade. For dessert, fresh homemade mixed berry pie (warmed up with ice cream) for me and coconut cream pie for hubby. We were going to pass this place up because of some of the Yelp reviews but wanted to give the place a try. So glad that we did!

Consistently understaffed, slow service with an attitude, and a disappointment every time. Imagine my surprise when I ordered two eggs scrambled and the waitress gets them from the buffet. Dry, warm, and gross. No thanks. Last time we decided to give it another try, our waitress kept walking by saying she was slammed and would get to us when she could. Then kitchen staff ran by yelling at a waitress to fix an order. 10 minutes goes by and still no menus, drinks or waitress. We walked out.

Service: busy, hard working, pleasant. Three stars. Food: ok, typical diner/cafe breakfast. Two stars. Cleanliness: ugh! Disgusting!! Menus were sticky, table and chairs sticky. Ketchup, syrup, hot sauce bottles all sticky. Bathroom floors hadn't been mopped in probably a month and were black. Yuckkkk!!! Zero stars. Will I be back? Based on the cleanliness, hell no!

TOURISTS BEWARE: unfriendly, discourteous staff wouldn't seat us even though there were PLENTY of empty tables. The lady behind the counter pointed to a round table for four and rudely said "you can try sitting here, it's the only thing we have available" to our party of six. Another thing that really bothered me was the racist and unwelcoming undertone. We're Hispanic, the place was full of white people. Do the math. Considering the place is extremely close to an airport, we figured they would be more receptive to diverse customers, but we were sorely wrong. Place was really dirty to begin with, but that's the least of their problems.

Ate breakfast at the Kountry Korner Cafe. I was perplexed that they changed the Cs to Ks in their name, yet they didn't bother to change "Cafe." But I digress... The pancakes were large, but didn't pass the "pancake test." When you use a knife to cut the pancake, it should slice nicely -- these cakes snagged as I cut them, indicating a rubbery texture. This was confirmed when I took a bite. As the warm temp of the cake decreased, sadly, the rubbery texture increased. Another red flag was the syrup and ketchup. The label was removed from the syrup bottle and it was filled to the tip-top, indicating that it had been "married" with the dregs from another container. They didn't even try to disguise this process with ketchup. Oh, and nice touch with the mismatched yellow lid -- obviously from a mustard container. The service was adequate, yet a "thank you for coming" would have been a plus.

I have NEVER had a bad meal here, I would say it falls in the "greasy spoon" category but that works too.

This is the lowest quality food you can find. I'm not sure how to word it any different. You can spend the same money for better food at mama macs or korner club right across either street. Service is good though!

From 8/25/13 visit: The Kountry Korner Cafe is a place where you should always order the special of the day so that you don't risk food poisoning. Because of my need to avoid gluten, I went with the raspberry chicken salad and was very disappointed - the lettuce was old and wilted, the veggies were mediocre quality, the chicken was ehh. Within an hour I felt awful and made a couple trips to the bathroom. TMI, I know, but I think folks should be warned, as I was not. Service is friendly but sporadic. Prices are reasonable. Only those with a strong constitution and GI system made of iron should eat here. Seriously. It's bad.

The attitude of the wait staff makes this place a 1 star. I have been several times and sometimes the seating is seat yourself and other times, it's reservation only. You never know which. If it's open seating, they won't let you scoot tables together for larger parties and they are very rude about it. If it's reservation only, they are rude if you don't have a reservation. The food isn't that good to be that rude. They consistently let large parties walk out instead of helping seat them. I won't be back.

Had breakfast. Expected homemade but got frozen food. OJ tasted like it was out of a can. Hashbrowns were ok but not homemade. Bacon was fatty and flaccid. Sausage patty is rubbery like from a frozen TV dinner. Green and white Xmas lights in June on the inside. No charm. Three stars instead of two because the server was nice.

what a great little diner. straightforward, all-american feel and attitude. the mature woman who attended our table was everything to match. she never spilled a drop of coffee and all the regulars were happy. i really enjoyed eyeing all of the beautiful homemade pies in the old-style display as i seriously chowed down on my plate of hash browns covered with green pepper, onion, ham, cheese, sour cream, and white gravy. yup. that happened. the man had biscuits and gravy with a pancake on the side. biscuits and pancake were both soft and delightful. only straight complaints we have are that the gravy didn't have sausage bits/chunks floating around and the hash browns could have been cooked longer. honestly, the food here isn't super spectacular, but the overall experience of this place tooted my horn. shed your pretensions and go have a good old regular breakfast.

I can only comment from a breakfast perspective. Decent buffet in 4 corners. Great for a chill get together before heading south or west if you're not in a rush. Friendly staff, southern type experience. Been many times without complaint.

Woohoo! As good as it gets! Old West gone gourmet? This cafe has the feel of an old cafe where waitresses call you "hon" and cooks are yelling, "Order up!" from the kitchen. The food, however, is surprisingly very good. Their homemade soups are awesome, two to choose from every day. One of my favorite dinners to get here is the broasted chicken. Their dinners rock because you get soup, salad and toast with every dinner. You won't leave without a full belly. I've also seen some great nightly dinner specials that you wouldn't typically expect to see on a cafe menu, like baby clams with some kind of white wine sauce... Live music in the back dining room is a fun addition that you can catch every Tuesday evening and some other nights a week. No complaints as of yet... Things that could make it better: - Just an afterthought... The looks both inside and out are a bit deceiving. This may work to the disadvantage of this place only because it seems to be a local secret that their food is as good as it is. They have a large parking lot and it's always busy, so that should tell you something.

My first experience here was a great one but def not the reason for the 5 star rating.. my second visit here was! I must say I think this is one of the best burgers I've ever tasted mmm. And their hot chips, their hot chips!!! Amazing country style homemade potato chips.. BOMB. This is a gem out here close to home and I love the old fashioned feel of their staff to the food itself. Ill become a regular soon!

Breakfast was outstanding. Steak and eggs done correctly. Pancakes unbelievably light. Everything served hot. Servers cordial. Food served quickly.

Good food. The diner side is fun when you feel like a greasy spoon. The dinner and lounge area is great, the prime rib is amazing!

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Billings. Clearly a big hit with the locals: business was brisk and people were happy. Sis had the special: a popcorn shrimp plate that she loves. I had a really terrific burger. It came with the house "chips" which were great, but the fries may have been just a bit better. It was totally worth the stop!
