This is by far my favorite place for hibachi. Been all over the country and hands down, I cannot find anyone to match the flavor of this place. This is the most flavorful hibachi in the area. I've been to the other ones and this one is superb. In comparison to a major one like Benihana, this place has taste. Beni's is more so about presentation and atmosphere and are light with adding ingredients.

Great location, very clean and great service! The hibachi is great, but the sushi menu could use some additions. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious and very fresh - but I could use a bit bigger selection, especially add in some of the basics.

What do I want for dinner tonight? I need something healthy. I'll search Yelp for healthy. Maybe someone will use the word healthy. 1-800-Healthy...Baking Company...Saigon...Vietnamese. Do I want Vietnamese? Pho...that's not really...search for salad. I need something green. I haven't had anything green since Sunday except the lettuce on a Subway sub. Baking Company again...Little Tokyo...sushi would be good. But I really want some vegetables and I never get anything but a seaweed salad. Beagle Bagel. Maybe a bagel tomorrow. Stay focused. Bill's Greek Tavern. *Bill's* Greek Tavern. Bill is not Greek. Greek would be good. No, healthy. I'll go to Kroger. If they have a salad bar, I'll get a salad. If they don't, I'll go to Little Tokyo or Greek. Write that down. No salad bar. Prepared salad? No, that's not what I want. I want a salad bar. I'll go get sushi. That's pretty healthy. It's Mississippi. Should I get sushi in Mississippi? I'll go...Greek sounds good. No, just drive over there and if it looks OK, you'll get sushi. It would be better...a gyro isn't that healthy. Greek salad not healthy. What am I doing? It's Mississippi. I'm going to Bill's. Turn up here. Oh..sh...this is the highway. Alright, I'll drive up to ...up there. Then I'll turn around. It's right up here...I'll drive by Tokyo and if it looks OK, I'll stop. If it doesn't, I'll turn around. It's getting late. Move, car. The speed limit is 40. What am I doing...what if I get sick. This is Mississippi. Turn around. It's only a half a mile. MOVE, CAR! OK. I'll look...will you turn already?!? Hey, this doesn't look too bad. Is there anybody inside? Hard to see in there. There's a couple of people at the bar. Looks nice enough...fine, just do it. Where's the hostess? Do they see me here? What's that smell...is that the grill? It looks nicer on this side. Warmer. That side over there looks like a Shoney's. I don't want to sit over there. Do they see me standing there? Which one is the hostess? Crap, she's not Japanese. Bad feeling...should I leave? Wait...here she comes. Sushi. No, I'll have a table. Crap, she's taking me to the bad side. It's bright over there. Those booths look like Shoney's. What's that smell? Is that the hibachi? That doesn't smell good. Smells like old butter. You're seating me here? I'm practically at the sushi bar. I might as well be at the sushi bar. I just want to read. Oh, well, just take it. What do I want? Al Roker's name is on the menu? It can't be that bad. Al Roker's been here. Wait, what does Al Roker know about sushi? I've never seen him talk about food. He used to be fat. Good...Japanese sushi chef...that's a good sign. I guess they're Japanese...I don't really know. They seem nice. That lady is annoying me on here phone. There are pictures of the sushi. This is the bad sushi...bad for you. I don't want this. What do I want? Maybe I shouldn't get sushi. What if it makes me sick? Seaweed salad. I don't see the seaweed salad. I'll have a water...No...diet Coke. They don't have seaweed salad!? Noodles? Maybe I should get the noodles. Udon. I like udon...curry udon. What's in it? Just soup and noodles? I need vegetables. There Sansa udon. That has vegetables. I don't want that...I want the curry udon...with vegetables. There's more sushi in the back. Sushi dinner for $16...that seems like a good deal. Wait, there's the seaweed salad. I'll have the seaweed salad. What else...can't I get individual nigiri? I just want a few pieces of sushi. What should I get...the noodles...udon...sushi dinner...ah!, here she comes. Quick...decide. Wait! There's the paper menu. $10 for Toro...I didn't want to spend that much. That's $4 for seaweed salad...$10 for Toro...the sushi dinner is only $16. I'll have the sushi dinner. Ugh, there's a lot of dressing on the house salad. What is that...a quarter cup? That's a blob. Is that a third of a cup? The seaweed salad has a lot of...is that oil in there?...a lot of oil. Tastes alright. Probably not too good for me...don't eat all of it. Miso soup isn't very hot...this would be good if it was hot. Crap, I ate all of the seaweed.... Yeah, I'm done with that...I'm not going to get to that salad, either. Sushi looks pretty good. That's a tiny dollop of wasabi. What is that...I don't normally get that. Is that...not too bad. See, you can get good sushi in Mississ...that shrimp tastes funny. Is that OK? It's not too bad. The A/C is blowing down my neck. It's kind of cold over here. I should've sat the other way. Then the A/C wouldn't hit me...mmm...that was good...that was...uh...yellow tail. It's bright over here. Too bright. Mmm...good california roll. Ooo...not sure about that one...is that bad? I hope I don't get sick. It's not bad...it's fine. You'd know if it was bad...it would taste worse. I'll save that piece for last. Is that?...yeah, smoked salmon. It's...it's OK. Last piece. Well, that was a disappointing final bite. I wish I'd gone for Greek.

I had dinner at Little Tokyo last night, and after about 15 years or so, this is STILL the BEST sushi anywhere in Mississippi. I usually get the sushi dinner with soup and salad. I love their salad dressing. I don't know what's in the dressing, but the lettuce is always fresh and ice cold, and makes a great match with their dressing. The sushi is always fresh. I've never had anything that tasted fishy. One good thing about their sushi rolls is that they do not use too much rice in their rolls. They use the correct balance so you can actually taste the fish in the roll rather than have it overwhelmed with rice filler. You know it's the best sushi, because sometimes when I'm there for dinner there are groups of Japanese businessmen dining there, who have come in from Japan for meetings at the Nissan plant! I've tried some of the others in Jackson, but I always come back to Little Tokyo!

I love this place. I eat here every time I am in town. The kids love the show the cooks put on. Food is great, but a little pricey. Overall, a wonderful place to eat.

OMG so bad I had to go learn how to make my own sushi at home... How is it possible for a chirashi to come with a nasty sweet teriyaki sauce? I don't know but it happened. After learning how to cut my own raw fish I saw that it doesnt take a genius not to serve sinew..but it happened. Lazy, stupid and overall incompetent staff. Don't touch it with a ten foot clown pole. Second worst Japanese restaurant I've been- the other was in Saltzburg but at least Saltzburg is an interesting city...

Food is superb. Fish are fresh. Service will be a little lacking if you go any night of a weekend, but it will be well worth your wait in Jackson. This is definitely my favorite sushi spot while in Jackson.

Decor and general appearance is nice enough, but jazz!?! C'mon, really in a sushi restaurant ? After a wile it gets annoying. I guess good for jazz fans though. Place was nice and clean, waitress friendly and attentive Japanese girl, table-side manners a little off or maybe just to Japanese ; she told me I ask too many questions, ha. Yes mamma san. Maitre'd was a little off and impersonal she seemed that way with other parties too. Maybe she had an off day. Food : Was OK. Half squid appetizer was nicely cooked, not chewy but over-spiced. I only got the eel box additionally and it was OK too. Kinda disappointing really as I had expected better after reading other reviews on here. Might come here again to sample some other dishes, but not before checking out the competition.

The sushi was fair. It didnt taste like the freshest fish. Also, the specialty sushi menu was not too impressive. Service was okay. Took awhile to get more water, but overall all average.

If you live in the Jackson area or traveling through Jackson it's worth the short ride from I55 to have some fresh, absolutely the BEST sushi in Jackson. If you go for lunch, they offer a great lunch box including plenty of food and choices with a very reasonable price! I enjoy sitting at the bar eating and seeing lots of locals. Edit: Decided to give Little Toyko a second shot...it ended up with a fourth star. Our waiter was amusing & perfectly attentive, the sushi a bit better. Certainly the top Sushi restaurant in the area. ******* Ventured down here on Friday & boy was it packed. Thankfully, it seems the local crowd prefers the flair of teppanyaki/hibachi, so we had plenty of room on the sushi side of things. Maybe it's just me, but it seems Jackson's sushi restaurants were once diners. You won't mistake yourself for being in Little Tokyo. The waitstaff was prompt & pleasant, and I imagine sitting at the bar or sushi bar wouldn't hurt the experience of a date or night out with friends. The sushi, while short of remarkable, is a tiny step up from what I had at Nagoya. As one would expect, the rolls were hit & miss, so I vote for being adventurous & ordering at random. The menu is a good size, so you'd like be able to please Asian friends & picky, American eaters alike.

Little Tokyo was the first and longest running Japanese restaurant in the Jackson area. I've always preferred location two off County Line because the waitstaff was always nicer. I've never gotten a bad cut of fish here either, which increases the rating dramatically for me. This location expanded a few years ago and now includes a full bar and hibachi grill area. A good place to go but some of the offerings have become more Americanized over the years to accomodate the growing clientel and compete with the multiple other Japanese restaurants in the area. Don't fear though, there's plenty of authentic offerings still available. If you have any Japanese friends visiting, ask for the Japanese menu for them :)

Oh my goodness. I am so full and impressed. This place was way better than Sacura Bana (Little Tokyo #1). I ate to my hearts content. My new favorite sushi bar in Jackson for sure... Or tied with Nagoya. After my obsession for Chawan-mushi the other night at Sacura Bana, I decided to bring my niece to this place instead... And they had it! My niece loved it and it was really good (not the best I've had, but still delicious)... We ate so much. Baked Green Mussels (which were edible but not good) Shrimp tempura appetizer (which I think the waiter made a mistake on because he only brought us 3 shrimp and no veggies) Charashi salad (which was good) Hamachi Kama (which was cooked well but a small portion) Dobin-mushi (good) 3 different rolls (all as good as you would expect for Americanized sushi) They have a great menu selection, really a ton of dishes. Anyway, it was good and the people where exceptionally nice. Yeah, I guess this place ties with Sakura Bana and Nagoya, just worth it to come here for the chawan-mushi.

Hands down the best sushi in the state, in my opinion. The owner is actually Japanese, and the food ranges from super-authentic to more Americanized. I'm obsessed with the Mod Roll, which is dynamite mix, almond slivers, green leaf lettuce, and avocado. Also yummy is the Seared Spicy Pepper Tuna Tataki or the Tuna Boat w/avocado. You can sit at the sushi bar or at a table, and there is a teppanyaki side for those who are into that. Edit: There is also a little grocery store two doors down, owned by the same lady. There are Japanese snacks and candy as well as noodles, soup base, ume boshi (yums!), bath products, and all kinds of things. Check it out!
