Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

If you are a diabetic, you should also avoid Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and Whataburger Patty Melt at Whataburger. Chicken Fajita Taco is also off-limits for diabetics. High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. My fiancé and I decided to stop in here because we were craving burgers. The burger choices were pretty great. I got the smokehouse burger with the jalapeño cheddar bun. It was absolutely out of this world. Our waitress, Terri, was such a sweetheart and gave us great tips for what to eat. They also have a good variety of milkshakes, too! I give this four stars for the following reasons: 1. My fiancé specifically asked for no ranch on his burger. It obviously wasn't our waitress's fault because the cook came out to give us our food and even said "annihilator with no ranch?" Ranch was slathered all over it. They had to remake it because there was so much ranch all over it. 2. The fries were overly greasy and tasted as if someone forgot to put salt on them. If you're in the mood for burgers and are in the area, this would be a good place to take the family. They even have a cool trivia game going you can play on your smartphone.

Went here on Friday evening and came away feeling satisfied. They have a great outdoor seating area and had a local rock band playing. Had the local beer along with a turkey patty burger. I forget the name of the burger but it had chicken bites along with a fried egg in it. You can't go wrong with that. Our server was awesome and made some great food and beer selections. Had a good time and will be back.

Let me start off with the positives: first, The Sweet Potato fries as an appetizer were Awesome!! The French fries which came with our order were very good as well. They were fresh and homemade, like we used to do them!! The only reason I did not give a higher rating is simply due to service. Our waiter was very nice an polite, but was not very quick on drink refills. Also, the kitchen was out of the original side dish we ordered, yet we were not told until our food arrived. Atmosphere was interesting. Lots of TV's with sports on and a band playing out on the back deck. No problems with that. I will definitely return, just know what to expect next time. While not my overwhelming favorite burger place in town, it is definitely in the top 3. Prices were very reasonable for the amount of food.

I really like the atmosphere. Depending on my mood, I'd take the bar or the patio. Initially I visited with a group and I enjoyed the karaoke and the service was great. I had fried banana pudding and an adult butterscotch milk shake. They were both decent, I would not repeat that order. The pudding was too creamy not enough crunch to be considered "fried". The Butterscotch shake was too sweet for me and not adult enough. My second visit I ordered at the bar, to go.(Friday night) I ordered a Pineapple express burger and macaroni and cheese. I asked for my burger to be medium well, and it was over well and the pineapples were a tease to me. The macaroni and cheese was good. The best things that this place has going is a cool concept, excellent service and a nice atmosphere. Too bad the food is mediocre. Even yet, I don't believe I'm over generous with my stars...Its certainly worth a visit

i just spent 19bux on a burger and tots, and it was horrible!!! dry and they didnt even get it right... i will never eat here again!!!!

My family and I have been here quite a few times and after moving away, we recently came back and saw that the food quality has been upgraded. This was pleasant to see and as always, eating on the patio is always a pleasant experience as the inside doesn't appeal to us. We've always gotten burgers and the sweet sourdough roll is awesome.

Don't order salad... Unknown crumbled meat appeared when I ordered chicken breast. Beer wasn't very cold. Bartender was very nice.

This restaurant has become a favorite of mine!!! The food is always great and they also have some nice healthier options!! The entire staff is always friendly and very conforming to any request. I have had every burger on the menu and each one is VERY good!!! They will all fill you up!! My favorite currently is the Hwy 61. The appetizers are very good and very well portioned. The milkshakes are AMAZING!!! Burgers and Blues has an awesome bar with a very good selection of drafts. It is also very family friendly with an amazing deck!! It is one of the few places in town that still has karaoke!!! I HIGHLY recommend you check it out!!!

Some of the best burgers and milkshakes in town! I've eaten here more times than I can count, and each time has been great. I love the Lea & Perrins burger with a chocolate milkshake. Our service is always great and the waiters are kind. Burger's and Blues also has an enormous, covered outside patio with fans for the summer and heaters in the winter. They also have live music on many weekends.

The Restaurant To start, the location is a little out of the way but a good little oasis amidst the mess and chaos of County Line Road. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Everyone seemed uncommonly professional for a Jackson/Ridgeland restaurant. It was a nice surprise. The atmosphere was nice. Wide open spaces with lots of comfortable seating and a huge dining patio. Plenty of TVs and an interactive trivia game (TapTV) to distract when your date/wife/kids are dragging on about something. The Food The fried pickles were very good. Someone had mentioned that they were really thin but I prefer that over too thick. The $6 price tag was reasonable as well given the tiny mountain (large hill?) of pickles. The burger was nothing special. I got the build your own with American cheese and a fried egg. If you haven't put a fried egg on your hamburger you haven't lived. The egg was prepared perfectly but the burger seemed like it was a large, direct from the freezer, patty. Not juicy and just a little to salty. Not bad, mind you, just not quite right. The bun was in the latest popular style being very thick and overpowering the burger completely. I took the top off and ate it open-faced. My plea to B&B and Mugshots and the rest: Why can't I just have a sesame bun. Lightly grilled or even toasted? Why the potato, sourdough, whatever, rolls? Just enriched white bread with sesame seeds. I'll even bring my own if that is acceptable. Conclusion It's okay. I would not make the trip down County Line again for their burgers. Really it would be a 3 star for me if not for the excellent service and the Military discount. Support our troops!!

Great staff. Good Music. Hamburger was precooked. Cold to warm. Fries were like they were precooked and sat under a warming light. I have been here many times...first time I am not happy.

Three stars because I came on Karaoke night, and there was a bunch of school kids singing Taylor Swift. I felt like I was listening to Kidz Bop or something. It was hella loud I felt like I was sitting in the school cafeteria and not at a cool hip joint that I thought it was going to be. Food isn't really that good either. The blue cheese and bacon burger was too dry. I don't think I would get that again. The fried mushrooms were good, it comes with a tangy horseradish sauce. The fried okra was unforgettable. Normally I wouldn't come back to a place like this, however, they had watermelon beer which was delicious, and the wait staff was attentive. I'd give this place another try for sure.

Thanks for messing up my to go order. Got home excited to try the debris fries and to my surprise , I opened a box of soggy nachos. Idiots. Should have known this order to be bad after I told the waitress my phone number three times over the phone. If you get a to go order, check it before you leave!

Well Ive experienced both the burger and the blues today. The blues came after we tasted the food. We ordered the debris fries with pulled pork and after a few bites had enough. It was very disappointing to put it nicely. The real blues came when we tried the burgers. Im pretty sure they are the frozen kind since they looked and tasted like it. They only come cooked one temp(well done) too. The cheddar cheese was the processed slice type similiar to american. It was the quality of a $5 playground burger if not worse. My husband paid .75 extra for jalapenos on his burger and he received two. 2 stars:Our server was very nice and accomodating. The atmosphere was unique and fun. The burger challenge- 3lb burger, 1lb fries and a milk shake- was def a conversational piece. Negative 3 stars: overpriced for poor food quality ($10 burgers $8 apps) and I immediately had stomach issues afterwards even after only eating half a burger. My advice would be to come for the real blues music and forget the burger.

Mediocre is the name of the game at Burgers and Blues. We've been here a couple of times, and neither time were we impressed. Burgers were burnt, portions small and service was lacking. With 5 other tables, it took us around 1.5 hours to be served. They're are several better options in Jackson for a good burger. We might go back one day, but certainly won't be in a hurry.

Very slow service even though there wasn't that many people. I ordered a burger and told her I wanted a bun but got Texas toast and it was so soggy with grease. Even the fries were so greasy I could hardly eat them. Hopefully some of the other options are not so bad. Fried mushrooms were awesome though!

4 1/2 stars for this place. Found it on yelp as my hotel was in the area. This place has a great atmosphere. It is like a sports bar with plenty of TV's, a large bar and a large covered patio with heating. The burger I had was very good. Nowhere near the best I have ever had but way better than any fast food place and very good. The fries were good too assuming you like fresh cut fries that are not prepackaged. I had really great service and I dug the music they were playing. I sat on the inside so I could watch sports on the televisions and they were playing blues. There was a fellow out on the patio playing/singing for some live entertainment but I was not outside to hear what type of music he was playing. If I am ever back in the area, you bet your bottom dollar I will be going back to this joint. I could see this thing becoming a national success one day. Great atmosphere!

I found this place through TV FOOD Maps from Man VS Food and I was totally pleased. Beyond the giant burger challenge there is a diverse menu that can appeal to everyone. When you order a burger you have a choice of several sides including a fantastic Mac n Cheese. The other notable item were the sweet potato tots, an ample portion any a fair price. Price point in General is fair across the board. Situated in the corner of a small strip all it was a little tough to find a parking spot but this is a sign of the popularly of Burgers and Blues. The indoor dining area and bar at large wide open and very comfortable. There is an outdoor area that is covered and has ceiling fans I didn't eat there this visit bit it looks great out there. The server staff and hostess are excellent and make you feel right at home. This is the song of the south and I always appreciate how polite friendly and obliging the people are down here. Even with my gruff mob like NJ vocal pattern and Tony Soprano look I'm treated like I'm visiting a persons home. This is a place I would frequent often if I was a local. It's close enough to the airport to chow down before you drive off to your final destination. I complete recommend this place for a great tasting and creative burger. A couple cold ones and some great blues music.

Well to start our waiter is not very friendly didn't explain anything and kind of a smart attitude burger better be good cause wait staff isn't burger was ok fries were very greasy waiter didn't seem to worried about us but another table he stayed at very poor restaurant performance will never be back

Great burger, fries & shake in a relaxed sports-bar setting. Plenty of burger options from which to choose, along with the quintessential daily "blue-plate" special. Back to the burgers, which is why you're here, right? I went for the bacon blue burger, which was very good. The best burger, ever? Umm, no, but pretty damned good, for the price. The fries were great, and the Heath milkshake...oh, yeah! I'd try the Butterfinger next time, just to mix things up.

My mom was visiting and she would like to come here every Friday. Listen to music and have a good meal. Each time became worse and worse. The food was made sloppy and the service started to become bad. Then the last time the server came to take our order and give us our drinks and never came back. Kids literally were running all over standing on our table. Waiter walked by our table five times and wouldn't ask us how our food was or if we needed anything. Our meal was completely wrong and barely edible. I had to find silverware and napkins myself. No one cared and it was very obvious. Will not return and will make sure to not recommend it.

Every single time, they mess up my order! I've been here on three different occasions all involving a work gathering, so never by my suggestion. Each and every visit, my order came out wrong. I am very clear with my ordering, so I don't understand what is the deal. On the third visit, I even had the waiter repeat my order back to me and still I was disappointed. Plus, they were out of the beer I wanted, so that didn't make the night any better. Besides the order confusion, I feel like it always takes forever for the food to come to the table. I never knew it's so hard to cook a burger and throw some fries on the plate. C'mon!

A great place for burgers in MS. The atmosphere is great. Multiple Tvs, great place to catch a game while chowing down. Waiters are friendly. The restaurant has an outdoor deck for those that want to dine out on a warm day. Their burgers are amazing especially the annihilator. Huge portion and great taste. Fries are not my favorite but who cares when you have to fill your stomach up with the awesome burger sitting aside it. If you're feeling adventurous, you can try out their Whammy challenge. I bow to those who gave it a shot, successful or not, they deserve a round of applause. I def i will come back to try the other items on their menu.

The amount of concentrated ineptitude of the staff here is mind boggling. From the drink service, to the (lack of) appetizer service and the incorrectness of our order when half of it finally showed up was pitiful. The manager thought it was funny enough to laugh about when she came to our table. What food did show up was poorly seasoned, over cooked, and looked thrown together. Avoid this place at all costs.

  • John F.

Zs Staff is friendly but way understaff. Parking is tight. I ordered a signature burger...meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The bun was cold and dry. I would return to this bar and grill.

  • TJ B.

Service at the bar was great. The bartender took time to talk about the meal and recommended the Gridiron Burger with jalapeño bun and it was just what she said it would be.....fantastic! 7 beers on draft and a good selection of regional beers. There is a large outdoor area and they have live music on Sat night. Great atmosphere. I gave 5 stars because I wasn't expecting great food from a Bar but it is now in my top five burgers of all time. They make their own ranch sauce so make sure you get something to dip into it.

    (5)
  • Jeff R.

B&B has great burgers and a pretty great menu. They have a fantastic outdoor seating area staged for Warner and cooler weather. It should be a great destination spot. But they continually struggle with the live music and seem unwilling or uninterested in adjusting the volume to a reasonable level making the otherwise great outdoor seating area into an over loud obnoxious and unpleasant experience. Get it right, guys!

Came here expecting to find a good burger and drink. I should have believed the previous reviews. When we got there it took them close to 7min to get attempted after being seated. The place was not full by any means so I didn't understand why it took so long. Placed order with drinks and it took them 15min to bring one of our drinks it seems they had forgotten about the other. The table across from us had come in after us and had gotten all their drinks before us. 20min passed still no drink. Ordered the BnB burger and there was nothing special to it fries were fine. All in all this place is nothing close to special.

The burgers here are delicious! I had the County Line burger and my niece had Pineapple Express with sourdough bread. Yum, yum, yum! We are so stuffed. The staff is pleasant too. They are so helpful and very attentive. When I visit this area again, this will be my go-to spot. I will be back!!

My husband and I stopped in here for lunch on our road trip after checking out the reviews on yelp. It was slightly out of our path but it was worth the small detour. We split the onion rings to start and they were amazing. I ordered ranch on the side and mixed it with the spicy sauce that came with the rings. My husband ordered the Bacon and Blue 8oz burger on wheat bun while I ordered the County Line burger with queso cheese on the biscuit. Both were absolutely delicious and we finished both even though we were insanely full. The Mac and Cheese side was fabulous as well. My only complaint was that we didn't save room for dessert so I didn't get my Bread pudding. This place is a must try. Service was excellent as well.

A fun, casual atmosphere with live music - it's a great place to grab a meal and relax. Their burgers are delicious, and so is their club sandwich and chicken tenders. We've taken kids before, and they definitely love the atmosphere and menu selection.

I don't understand how people can consider the burgers "good." My wife and I gave this place a try on 2 different occasions and both times the food was an overpriced disappointment. I dont remember what burger i ordered the first time when we went last year, but last night i ordered the Loaded Fry Burger. It was just a dry and tasteless mess. Only one temperature is available (medium well, which in this restaurant translates to super well done). Just an FYI to potential diners: if a restaurant can only offer a cook temperature of "medium well" for their beef, it means they cannot control the meat quality and cannot risk customers getting sick. Therefore they nuke the meat to make sure there isnt any bacteria. My opinion on this particular place is DON'T have "burger" in your name if you're going to buy frozen unseasoned, hockey puck patties from Sysco instead of using fresh meat. I mean if time is an issue in prep, you guys dont even have to grind the meat. Just buy a case of fresh pre ground chuck... I can only assume the food tastes amazing after you drink 4 or 5 $6 beers.. The atmosphere is nice with the live music and outdoor area, but just stay away from the food, or stop by whataburger on the way before you come.

From the time we walked thought the door, we had a great time. The food and drinks were really good. A college friend that lives in the area recommended this place to us, so o am recommending it to everyone. Did I mention that they had a nice happy hour and a live band came in later. Yes, we were there for a long time. Don't get turned off when you walk up because it doesn't look like much but as they say "don't judge a book by it's cover"! Great place to visit and watch the games also.

I was looking for a good burger near my hotel. Not having had dinner in 4 days due to long hours of driving, lots of rain, and late arrivals at my hotels, I was really looking forward to sinking my teeth into a juicy burger. I found this place on Yelp, reviews looked good, so I gave it a try. Service was awful. The place was pretty noisy and the waitress was unable to speak up enough for me to hear her, so she had to repeat everything several times. She was very young and obviously not thrilled with her job. I ordered a bottled beer, which she brought to me in a bottle without asking if I wanted a glass. When the burger came, she did not bring flatware or napkins and did not ask if I wanted hot sauce or anything else. Another waitress saw me looking around and brought me what I needed. All the wait people were very young and not exactly enthusiastic, but most of them were certainly more communicative than my waitress. The burger was DEAD - I was not asked how I wanted it cooked, so I don't know if they differentiate at all or if all burgers are cooked the same way. It was just 1/2 lb of dry crumbly sawdust. For a burger, fried okra, and a beer I paid almost $19. For a great meal, it would have been appropriate, but this was ridiculous. I just came through town, so I won't have to avoid the place in the future, but I advise fellow travelers not to get sucked in by the attractive online menu.

This place is amazing. It looks really dark from the outside we thought it was closed but when we got closer it was open. We were greeted with happy smiling faces. Service was very quick. Burgers were delicious. The ANNIHILATOR was the manliest burger I've ever eaten. Very good place!

  • Michael O.

The service was awful! If applicable I would give it half a star. We were seated outside on a Sunday afternoon. The place wasn't crowded at all. After placing drink orders, the waiter arrived with only one drink for a table of two. I guess someone from the kitchen brought our food to the table. Still no drink! I had to find another waiter to get a drink more than half way finish with my meal. When our waiter did return, he never checked on us; but went out his way for the "other" guest. I begged my girlfriend not to tip because service was so awful but since it's already so stereotypical for blacks not to tip he did

I am a bit late on the bus for this place. Sad to say, it is my first trip for a "Cool Al" burger in the new location. I was a HUGE fan of Al's burgers in the old location. I think that place has really, really slipped without him there on the grill. Burgers and Blues has a great atmosphere, I can't wait to go back when it gets under 85* and enjoy the outdoor deck and live music. The burger. I strayed slightly from my bacon/cheese regular order because I do not like Stamps/Al's bacon. It is usually thin and tasteless so I did not take a chance here. I ordered the Sonic Boom....CB with Pepper Jack and Fried Jalapenos. It was a good burger. The patty was perfectly cooked, and in Cool Al's fashion, it self destructed about 75% through eating it. The only complaint I have is that there was about 100% too much yellow mustard on it and it drowned out the tasted of the meat. Next time I will order without yellow mustard and it may get 5 stars :)

It may have been an off night (it was full, and looked like a couple of groups in the place), but the food service was slllooooowwwww. Also, the lead bartender seemed to have it in for her coworkers, and they may have deserved it, but why act that way/say those things to them in front of customers? It didn't enhance our dining experience. The food was good, and the place was full so it seems like the locals think it's good, and we'd probably give it another chance if we were in the area again. But on this one night, yeah, food was good but the slow service turned it into a "meh" experience.

The burger I had was great. 1 pound of beef marinated in Led & perrins sauce, with sweet potatoes tots. I never had sweet potato tots before, I will surely have them again after this experience. There is a full bar and plenty of tv's to keep you entertained. The wait staff is friendly.

I ate here about a year ago. The burgers were pretty ok.... I think I remember them being a bit crispy on the edges. The fries were great. I remember having a sweet waitress. I haven't been back so far. Maybe one day.

Went a few months ago and was disappointed with their burgers. Pretty pricy for a burger that doesn't come with fries. Burger itself is kinda plain, I don't really understand what all the hype is about. All 3 of us got different burgers and were less than thrilled. I'd much rather go to Mugshots.

Stopped here for dinner while on the way to New Orleans over spring break. Appearance wise and menu wise, had everything that should make it a success, but it falls short in quality and value. The burgers are priced pretty high and unfortunately are SO salty, they were hard to eat. I thought it might have just been mine, but everyone in our party found them way too salty to enjoy. The bar / bar service was good. Would be hard to recommend for the food.

Really good food. They only cook their hamburgers well done so I would stray from the burger unless eat them that way. I had the Philly wrap with a side of gravy and I switched the swish cheese for the queso. Wow! Super good. I would totally eat here again. Caution the sweet tea is Really sweet tea!

Very good. Burgers were great and they had hand cut fries. Daughters got pulled pork sandwich and boneless wings. Both were very good. The wings were some of the best I've had.

I love to head out to BnB on a night when they have someone playing outside in the courtyard. I love a good burger and nice cold beer on any day but you mix a little Mississippi blues in and I'm sold.

I've been here about three, maybe four, times total and I have always enjoyed it. It isn't my favorite burger, by any means. In fact, I find the burger to be OK and the rest of the food to be pretty OK too. The sweet potato fries are a cut above most others, while their regular fries aren't much to write home about. I would possibly give this place three stars (though my wife begs to differ), but it has always been clean, the staff friendly, and the outdoor seating great. Live music is fun and the kids are always welcome. The sum of all the parts make it better.

Huge selection of burgers. Everyone at our table got something different and were all pleased with what they got.

I was expecting an amazing burger and instead what I got was a mediocre burger. I got the bacon & bleu burger which was on a white bun with two large slabs of bacon and a whole lot of bleu cheese and bleu cheese sauce. The bun was the best part. I also got the sweet potato tots and they were really different from regular tots but in a good way. The burgers come in 4oz, 8 oz, and 12oz sizes. For spending $15, I was just expecting more flavor!

My dad took me by this place while I was visiting in Jackson. The atmosphere is very cool and we went there on a Sunday afternoon and there was live music kicking outside on the patio. I don't know many places in Jackson you can find this at lunch after church so the Blues tag line is true to form. I had a Burger with Blue Cheese and Bacon. The burger was not all that impressive to look at, but the meat and the the complimentary toppings made it quite tasty. The bread however was just your regular run of the line white bread and I think I was expecting more. My dad got their Sonic Boom and his once again didn't have great presentation, but he also enjoyed his. One great aspect of the burger is that there are various sizes so you don't end up over eating. So for the burger I say it is definitely solid, but it however may not be the best burger in Jackson. Maybe it is the best burger in Ridgeland which means if you live close it should become your hangout. We ordered french fries and they were awesome. I am a true fry guy and these are tops. So all in all the meal was very good. I however can't quite give this a 4 star yet.

Best burger and fries I've had in a while....but the service sucks, very crowded and long wait time for food! Almost messed up my order, but I definitely will come back on a slower day.

Pretty good place to go if you want to watch "the big game" during your meal. Burgers kind of pricey. Quick service though, and the burgers were undeniably good. Overall a decent place to eat.

  • Michael V.

I will totally agree with other reviewers that the burgers are dry and too salty. The experience was just mediocre really. The best thing the place has going for it is the really nice patio with live music and a fairly good beer selection.

  • Abby S.

Terrible! Do not eat here! I ordered a Blue Cheese BLT, that was straight out of the menu and it came to me cold. The bread was toasted and then sat, the bacon was deep fried and had no taste, the tomatoes were tasteless, and it was missing the blue cheese sauce! My husband's club house sandwich was made wrong and the worst we've ever had. The blues music was also bad, the musicians played more nursery songs for the children than actual blues music. Save your money and avoid this place, it's not worth it.

This place is amazing I would honestly move to Jackson, MS to just come here for food and beer. The bartender I had she was amazing and very nice and took her time with me and helping me decided on what burger to order and what beer to drink. She was kind of enough to let me sample a few beers as well and actually found a new favorite type. Prices are reasonable and not over the top but this isn't burger king. Burger was HUGE and made fresh and best part it tasted amazing. The fries are to die for! YES I WOULD COME BACK AND DEF BRING FRIENDS! OH YEAH, LIVE MUSIC AND CORNHOLE!!!

Not worth the money, even with the large outdoor patio. On a whim, we ate there this evening, and found the meal to be perfunctory. The patio was nice, and since the day was lovely, we chose to eat outside. The waitress was nice, and the table was clean. However the food just wasn't that good. For a hamburger place, it's all about the meat. Well the meat at Burgers & Blues is nearly tasteless and has a weird granularity. I've had custom ground burgers before, so I know that the texture will differ, but theirs were just weird. It was like bits of sand in the burger. Even more, the burgers are cooked to death on a medium temperature grill, so the burger lacks the flavor that comes from strong sear. My bun, and the buns on my daughter's sandwich were stale, almost crusty stale. They revived them slightly by warming them, but they were clearly past their prime. The mac & cheese that came as a side with my meal was rubber. You could tell it was scooped out of a large vat, garnished with a little tasteless cheddar, and then microwaved to a warm, rubbery sadness. We spent over $60 dollars here for three people, and the food in no way justified the cost.

This restaurant succeeds in everything it's trying to do. Expect a very casual atmosphere. The burgers are very good and the music is decent. Not anything like what you would find in a place like Nashville or New Orleans though.

Been here a few times and each time the service is horrendous and the burgers are DRY! I've tried some different items and all to no avail. The fried pickles are rubbery and the bacon, at least when I've had it, is turkey bacon trying to be passed off. This will be my last time for the food, but the drink variety is solid.

  • Kelly H.

The burgers are quite decent - not the best that I have had but far from the worst. They defiantly have a homemade taste. The sweet potato fries are excellent. Therefore, bottom line for the food: right on up there. Solid pub grub. The atmosphere is very casual. In fact, its so casual it's almost fast food restaurant casual. Really no decor to speak of. There are a number of TVs tuned to sports but it's not really a sports bar. There is a bit of the blues playing in the background but this isn't a blues bar by any stretch of the imagination. To be honest I find the place a little creepy. No bottom line here just an opinion. I found the service to be rather slow. They serve beer. What more can I say?

  • Lacey O.

This is by far one of the best places to take a friend from out of town. The atmostphere is uber casual. There multiple varities of burgers, so you can always try something different...though I almost always get the Lea Perrin's turkey on wheat. It has feta cheese! Go when there is music outside on the patio, which is pretty regularly. I'm pretty sure I've gone there the past 3 out of 4 weekends in a row. I highly recommend not sitting inside, just because you will miss the awsomeness that is outside, even in 100 degree temperatures. Don't forget to check out the games......Cornhole, anyone? PLUS, you get to drink out of Mason jars. How Southern is that? :)

Was driving thru and decided to stay over looked on yelp to find a good place to eat. Got to say it was a great burger friendly waters and waitresses. The atmosphere was not what i expected there were a lot of family's eating on the deck the kids running around having fun. It was a pleasant surprise. Would definitely stop back in. Good food great blues

I wasn't expecting it to be in a strip mall. Talk about your pre-packaged joints. Yes, it's cool, blah blah blah....but it sort of had that tired, "been there done that feel" to it. Relying too much on the whole TV experience making it seem as if they couldn't really support themselves simply on good food, good service and a good experience. The wait staff, while bubbly and seemingly attentive, fell short by forgetting almost everything. In addition to that, we ordered two types of burger and asked that they be cut so that each of us could trade half and sample both types. Graciously our burgers were cut for us, however...get this...both burgers were the same. Not impressed by the burgers all that much....not impressed by the "marketed atmosphere". Time to move on!

Whatever kind of burger you want - they can make it, and make it well! Get the sweet potato fries. Every good burger pares well with an 'Abita Strawberry' if its in season.

  • Davis F.

Very poor service. This was my second time here and we spent two hours primarily waiting for drink order, food order, and checks. They only cook their burgers well done, which is incredibly shocking if you have "burgers" In your name. I will never come back here.

4 stars for sure. Lots of burger choices and a very unique menu. I didn't have it but the burger and peanut butter combo really made me curious. General bar setup on the inside with lots of Sports, and good flat screens all over the place. The patio at this place is awesome. I went on a picture perfect night. Very good live music while I ate and had some good playoff hockey on as well. I will be back to this place when I get back to Jackson.

We've been here a few times with no problems, but the last time we were here our server was so slow we almost walked out. The food is great, and I'm a big blues fan so the decor is awesome. We'll give it another try soon. Every server has an off day now and again. ;-)

Fun place. Good atmosphere, nice servers. Burger was good (little dry/salty but still tasty), fries were okay (tad soggy). Had the 8 oz. Lea & Perrins burger, which you could really taste the marinade, and a generous serving. Good beer selection. Definitely worth a return trip!

  • Dena S.

After hearing the hype about this place, I broke down and went there Sun. night. I ordered a Sonic Boom w/turkey instead of beef and sans ketchup and shared an order of fries. The burger was really good, but the fries were EXCELLENT! They're skin on fresh cut potatoes just like grandma used to make--yummmm! The only problems we had were service related. Service was inconsistent and our server forgot several things we asked for on more than one occasion. I think the quality of my meal will make me over look the service issues and give Burgers and Blues at least one more shot.

This is Al Stamp's (Cool Al's, Stamps) new place behind the KFC on County Line in the strip mall next to the Grand China Buffet. It's a nice, totally upscale sports bar with all the tv's and live blues/Southern rock music 4 nights a week. It's got all his classic burgers in 4, 8 or 16oz. Beef, Chicken, Turkey or 3 Veggie options. They got a large variety of offerings in signature burgers (Peanut Butter, Worcestershire & Feta, Pimento Cheese, Pizza Burger, etc..) to a you-build-it-burger menu (add horsradish sauce, cool ranch dressing, Pineapple, Avocado, etc...). Check out the menu on their website. It's a cool place to hang out and have a few beers. Southern Pecan & Blue Moon, and a Abita seasonal on tap and Newcastle are as exotic as you're going to get. The fresh squeezed lemonade is also good. It's much quicker than the only locations (think normal cooking times here). They also have appetizers, a salad or two, and a few other bar type items. It's already catching on pretty fast with one of the most impressive and large outside picnic table patios in the area. Shade trees and everything. A very fun place to get a good burger. I don't think it's the best burger in town like many do (see my Burger list in my profile), because I prefer a more seasoned flame grilled quality beef than Al's fried burgers. Also, Al doesn't have the specialty homemade variety of buns that the better burger places have. A nicer bun would would step these up alot. You aren't able to order how you want it cooked, all burgers are well done and can be overdone & not as juicy if they get too busy (which isn't generally an issue at the Cool Al's location with its slowwwww cooking method). If you get a bacon cheesburger it will come with turkey bacon, which is weird. So don't expect the usual thick-cut applewood smoked bacon. All that being said, Burgers & Blues is a cool place worth frequenting for a little local music and a good burger.

    (3)
  • minimalist -.

Nice deck shaded by cypress trees. Good burgers (especially the pimento cheese). Would be better if the kitchen would not insist on cooking the meat well done which kind of ruins everything. If your restaurant is called "Burgers & Blues" you would think that you might be able to do a good burger but sadly that's not the case here.

Great burgers! Get the burger on wheat bun and the sweet potato fries w/o sugar, and you have a great tasting low GI meal. The service was excellent.

  • Chad W.

You can read the other reviews about how great the burgers are but I decided to break from the signature burgers and try the wraps, AMAZING! The decor was nice and spacious indoors and out which was good because with all the patrons they need it. Can't wait to go back and check out their new covered deck when I'm back in town.
