Friendly to vegetarians?: Very! This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Oxford. I am always satisfied when trying a new dish and feel very accommodated for with vegetarian options for every meal. Everything on the menu is prepared fresh to order and in a very timely manner; take out takes about 15 minutes and is great on the go. They have a rewards card for frequent diners because they know people will always come back.

Yum! Great alternative to Rice & Spice! Came here the other day for a late night meal and we were definitely surprised of the quality. The place was pretty empty, so it was a quiet meal for us. I had the massaman curry, which i LOVED! R&S doesn't have this dish, so it was nice to try something new for a change! However, bf had the shrimp pad thai, and he thinks that R&S does it better. For dessert we got the sticky rice and mango... Which I have been thinking about nonstop for the past 3 days. No joke -- It is that good. I believe this restaurant belongs to a different owner than the previous Thai restaurant owner here... So give it a try!

My roommate recommended Pick Thai as a quick meal, and I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. I got the Tom Kha soup to play it safe, and was expecting something of boxy quality, but it turned out to be very flavorful! I got all of the lime, chive, and cilantro tastes . My only complaint is that I prefer a creamy soup whereas this one was a bit runny. I would put more coconut cream in, but that's just my taste. My buddy got pineapple fried rice, which I peeked at-- it looked pretty awesome. I'm looking forward o actually getting a real dish off of the menu sometime now that I know Pick Thai exists!

So... post game and the Square is a hot mess (2 hour wait on a slow game weekend) so we try this place. No wait, just a few tables busy, and sweet wait staff. We got Pad Thai with chicken and Drunken Noodles with shrimp. I asked for extra veggies in the Pad Thai and the added carrots, broccoli and green beans. It was great. The DN were so fresh with basil and Thai seasonings - my favorite of the two. We ate in 30 minutes (on a GAME DAY) and the bill was $20 plus tip. What? Oh, and they have beer but BYOB for wine so there's another savings. We will be regulars after this. It's attached to the old Days Inn - now University Inn on the frontage road off 6 and Lamar on the non-square side of Lamar. About 5 minutes from the stadium or square.

My favorite Thai place in Oxford. Yes, Rice&Spice can hit the spot, but their service just does not match up to Pick Thai. Everyone here is more down-to-earth and the servers are more reliable. The atmosphere may be lacking, but the food here is truly delicious and there isn't much more I can ask for in terms of service. Whether I sit in or order takeout/delivery, I am always satisfied with the service and thrilled with the food. While their basic Thai fair (fried rice, pad Thai, drunken noodles) are all on par, I definitely recommend their specials. The seafood basil is soooo good!! I have yet to try their duck entrees but I trust that Pick Thai will make it right.

I just moved back to Oxford from New York where I fell in love with Thai food. I tried this place and was pleasantly surprised. The Volcano Shrimp is solid, the pad thai is very good and the various other dishes were all very enjoyable. I was not expecting much but I have been back 3 times now! I would recommend.

Despite the previous reviews, I decided to try this for myself on a Monday night (when conveniently Rice & Spice was closed). I was pleasantly surprised! Pick Thai was delicious and I ordered the same thing I order at Rice & Spice (Drunken Master level 3) and I would say they are both equally delicious. I would definitely suggest you to venture out to Pick Thai because it is a little cheaper than Rice & Spice and just as good. My boyfriend had the Beef Fried Rice spice level 2 and he enjoyed it as well. A pleasant dinner for both of us!

I'm a big lover of Thai food, as is the rest of my family. When this restaurant opened--or re-opened, because I suspect it's the same owner/chef of the former Thai restaurant that used to occupy this location--I was eager to try it out. The menu I read online looked pretty standard but I wasn't looking for revamped, "new-age" Thai, just good, fresh Thai food. The place was deserted when we got there, which should have told me to turn around and go to Rice and Spice, but I wanted to give Pick Thai a fair shot. Alas, I left very disappointed, but others in my family said it was ok. We ordered two apps. The fresh spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce were very nice, but the fried spring rolls were obviously bought-in, frozen rolls. I took one bite and that was enough to tell me that I didn't want another. My wife ordered a tofu pad thai at a no-spice level, and she ate most of it and took the rest home. Our daughter got mango fried rice with tofu, ate half, and left the rest. Our son ordered beef fried rice and ate it all. I ordered massaman curry with tofu at spice level 5, their highest level. I specifically asked if level 5 was very spicy and the waitress said some people sweat at their level 5, so I said ok, thinking that I could add some extra spice, if necessary. The curry sauce was thin, and that's ok, but it wasn't fragrant--I detected no basil, kaffir lime, lemongrass, etc., none of the beautiful Thai scents that make my mouth water when my curry arrives. I suspect the sauce was canned and unenhanced by the chef. The potatoes were a little too hard for my taste, but others might like them that way. The tofu was silky, but nothing special. Was it spicy? Oh no. Not even close. I asked for extra spice and received a generous helping of obviously canned chili paste (sambal oelek). But it was cold, and that quickly brought down the temperature of the curry. A sad state of affairs. The accompanying rice was fine, but again, not fragrant. Lunch for four of us--two apps, four entrees, and water, so no drinks--came to $42. I tipped the standard 20% because the waitress was prompt and the poor food was not her fault.

The food was delicious, the place was really clean, the service was polite and prompt. We ordered chicken satay and shrimp satay appetizers, and they were both delicious. I had drunken noodles with chicken and my son had fried rice with chicken. Both were delicious and the sieving size was generous; we could only eat about half of it. We will definitely be back.
