First off, I don't know HOW yelp lists this as a casual restaurant. You should at the very least have a collared shirt and slacks if you're dining here. Went here for dinner with my girlfriend and her family. I had the 6oz filet with a salad and rice pilaf. Most of the rest had steaks of various sizes and cuts. Our service was quite good. Our waitress was well informed, polite and clearly explained anything we might have had questions about. The steak I had was one of the best I've had and actually a bit underpriced in my opinion which his rare in this area. The only complaint I'd have is that my girlfriend ordered the soft shell crab on top of her steak. It was $13 and they gave her three bite sized pieces for that which was a rip off. Everything else about the meal and the experience there was top notch and I will be going back.

Vibe: The vibe is a mix of old South and casual. I loved the little petitioned off rooms down the left side of the dining room and the bar in the back. Service: Our server was personable and attentive without being too attentive. But the attention to detail just wasn't there. My girlfriend was having an entree salad and it came out way before the rest of the meal and we got the cream and sugar for the post- dinner coffee, but no spoon to stir it with. All in all, I appreciated the upbeat and friendly attitude, and the little things didn't "ruin my evening". Apps: We had a shrimp three ways and lump crabmeat app. The crabmeat was good but nothing to write home about. The shrimp tasted fresh and paired well with the accompanying trio of sauces. Entrees: Mixed greens with strawberries was tasty, albeit it should have been served on a larger plate. The 6oz filet was cooked perfectly, seasoned well, and nearly fork tender. The creamed spinach side was good but it was served a little on the tepid side. Squash and onions was tasty. The creamed corn was a disappointment. It tasted like canned corn and a lot of sweetened condensed milk. The verdict: I probably wouldn't dine here again. It wasn't terrible, but the experience to price ratio didn't add up for me. But that's just one mans opinion based on one visit, so YMMV.

This place while not being "bad" isn't even remotely worth what it costs. I'm going to drop it to 2 stars due to being so overpriced for average food. Service has been ok each time with super nice staff. Service was spot on from Chris at the bar, the atmosphere is casual and pleasant. They had a great looking make your own mimosa and Bloody Mary station and $16 all you can drink of both. The food was ok but nothing special. I would come back but it wouldn't be because of the food.

Terrible. Made the mistake of ordering fish. The $35 halibut was cooked to the consistency of shoe leather. The risotto wasn't any better. If you have to go here, do yourself a favor and order a steak and baked potato.

My husband & I were so looking forward to a great dinner after spending the day moving our daughter into her new apartment. Eating here has always been the highlight of coming to Oxford. Not this time. We like to sit at the bar & felt lucky when we arrived there were several spots available. The place was busy but not packed. The bartenders & service here is always amazing! We sat right in the middle of the bar. Neither bar tender would acknowledge us even though they were standing right in front of us. Not even a "be with you in a minute." It was very awkward & uncomfortable. After about 10 minutes we left. We certainly did not expect a drink in that amount of time. By the way it was not Paul or Chris working because they are great!

Settle in. This place takes forever. It took over 20 minutes for our first drink order to come out. Table of 5 had three meals come out first, the other two took 10 more minutes. Simple restaurant rule, don't bring out any meals till they can all come out together. Squash and onion sauté was just a bowl of onions. Not impressed at all with anything here.

this place is amazing. My boyfriend and I had been dying to go, so we went (walk-ins), didn't mind sitting at the counter because we were just happy to be there. Bartender got us squared away with our drink and food orders. I got the strip steak (which was huge) and he got the salmon. both were beyond amazing. Probably the best steak I've ever had at a restaurant anywhere, ever-and I've been to a lot of places around the country. The salmon was also fantastic. It's a slightly dressy place, but you can also call in orders for carry out and there is no judgement in showing up in norts and a T to pick them up. Go here for your next dinner of any kind! You won't be disappointed.

The bread was raw and the redfish was dry. The atmosphere was good and lively Maybe the steak is better, but don't get the flavorless fish.

I had an enjoyable dinner with the family again at one of Clints restaurants. They were out of rolls which is not unusually but the steaks were great. I sometimes feel that maybe the steak marinade and the large amounts of fat within the ribeyes can't be good for me or my body or everyone would be using it. But... Food was good with a great selection of drinks as well.

Had dinner here on a busy Saturday night, about a hour wait for a table, which is not unexpected. Spent the time at the bar. Male bartender was terrible, un attentive terrible service. Female bartender was just the opposite, she was great! I forgot to get their names. When seated we were severed by Melissa who also was great. 3 steak dinners and 1 bacon wrapped shrimp meal, all were great. Sides could have been served a little warmer. Drinks, dinner and tip $225.00 Only one down point to the evening was instruction from the front door manager, Jeff, to one of our party, to remove his ball cap ( just cap, nothing offensive on it ) I noticed though out the rest of evening several other men wearing ball caps. Was Jeff profiling our young man just because he had really long hair? Or was he just being overly authoritative to a teenager? I asked our waitress at the end of the evening what was restaurant policy concerning hats and she assured me that they were welcomed and allowed. Well thanks Jeff for being such an asshole!

We just had a couple of beers here on a football weekend. Not too crowded, but that's because it's more of a restaurant than a bar, though there is a bar. Service was good and they had the local Pecan beer (forget exact name). Oxford seriously needs more bars--the few that stay open late start charging progressively ridiculous cover charges as the night goes on, and because there's only five or six bars open, you don't have many options. I'm guessing most college kids go to Greek events instead to avoid this. Will have to try the food next time.

This place MADE our trip to Oxford! The Sunday brunch was to DIE for! PERFECT Bloody Mary's and Mimosas, even better food! Eggs Benedict, Fried softshell crab with roumelade sauce, and a Chicken Sammich that would make you want to order three more! It was FANTASTIC! Go early on Sunday -and wait for the table where the street windows open up to the street, its worth it- and wonderful people watching.

Vodka Martini was 5 star. Catfish with grits and asparagus was 5 star. Bacon wrapped shrimp was 5 star. Highly recommend. Great end to an Oxford weekend.

The Oxford Grillehouse is a welcomed addition to the Oxford Square. It fills a niche for a steakhouse that other cities boast. However, one cannot come in from out of town and understand the privilege of being a Square establishment. It means hospitality, good graces and good manners. While our wait staff was perfect and attentive, the hostess, whom the owners have a choice to hire, could not have filled a hostess spot with any fewer graces. Our party of five out of six stood by the tiny hostess lectern and showed her our sixth paying a parking meter. She refused to seat us despite seeing the driver. No waiting area exists so the two front tables began glowering at our presence as we huddled while the dour hostess would not even acknowledge that this was a problem. A woman's purse then knocked an entire pitcher of water into the entrance, through no fault of her own but because of the crowded corralling, and the hostess blamed the patron. Now a safety risk existed for entrants and exiters. Common sense could have controlled the situation. A simple "would you like to sit at the bar" would have helped. But again, poor hiring choices ruled the day. We ate and had a wonderful meal, tipped well and then were greeted by a treat of snickering by the hostess and another waitress, not our own wonderful young man, who we could hear from the bathroom. Again, it is a privilege to be on our Square; we hope all faces of this institution treasure the honor to be there.

My wife and I dined here on a Friday night. There was a good crowd and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We started with the boom boom shrimp and it was excellent. Plenty for 4 people as an appetizer. The waitress also brought out rolls with strawberry butter and honey butter. I could've made a meal off of just the buttered rolls. Both butters were great. We both ordered 6 ounce filets medium rare. I had the walnut salad and parmesan fries. Wife had asparagus. All were prepared properly and had a good taste. Overall I was very impressed for my first time here. We will certainly dine here again.

I brought a group of collaborators out to dinner here so that we could discuss our path forward so a quiet restaurant was desirable. We were given a table that was in its own alcove. This was a perfect table for us. The menu was interesting and we enjoyed seeing all the various choices. The waiter was very attentive and not intrusive when we were in the middle of a discussion. I ordered the wrong thing for me because I forgot how much topping was typically on meals in southern style restaurants. I ordered the filet topped with blue cheese and onions. The filet was smothered with the topping so that the filet was not visible. This is what I forgot, "topped" often means "smothered" in southern style meals. While many would like this, I found it very heavy. My collaborators were very satisfied with their meals (steak and dragon roll). The dragon roll was huge and there was much left over. There was also a good beer selection. We enjoyed our time at this restaurant and I will remember this place for my next visit to Oxford. It was a great place to bring customers to.
