Front host was friendly and superb. Waitress was perfunctory at best. The menu is small and will need to be explored on more visits. I made the mistake of recalling my youth and ordering Pan Perdu (French toast). As a meal it is cloying sweet like a desert and when given three large slices of French bread cooked with their light fluffy egg preparation and coated with a honey syrup. I could barely finish one slice.

Great energy from staff! Very pretty place. Only four stars, because I wanted a better selection of goodies. Prices are ok. Nice place.

Stopped by Honey Bee Bakery for a snack and was not disappointed. While the array of desserts in the case wasn't plentiful, what was there was delicious! Tried the double chocolate cake pop - oh my goodness. Wish I had gotten more than one. Also got a chess bar and it was perfect. Not too overly gooey like most are. It had a great little crust on top and the powdered sugar was plentiful. I also purchased a dog biscuit for my friend's dog - and she confirmed that her treat was also delicious! haha!

I wish I had known about this place when I was living in MS. The cups and pitchers really add a wonderful splash of authenticity to the spread. We were given complimentary muffin pieces. The brûléed peach French toast was incredible. I wish it wasn't in a strip mall.

Dang it! I've been wanting to try this for ages. I've been by 3 times but until today didn't have time to get anything as it is apparently a wait to get even to go. Last time I dropped by to get lunch on the way out of town and was told 15-20 minute wait for a take out pint of chicken salad Went back and ordered today when I had time to kill and go back. I got the BLT they recommended. It was on HUGE slices of bread they probably baked (I'm guessing). It had the "tomato aloi" - basically mayo with some seasonings slathered on. I love a blt but there was just not enough "fillings'. There was some thick, chewy bacon, lettuce, the tomato aloi and maybe 2 thin slices of tomato on the whole $9 sandwich. I ended up taking all the fillings from both sandwich halves and combing into one half sandwich ( tossed 2 slices of bread and made a sandwich from both halves into one half). Still did not have enough flavor and tomatoes to make a BLT, but it was ok. Oh, and it was in a take out box with generic potato chips tossed on top. I picked those off, but for $9 I'd expect a side they created. I hate to leave a bad review, and maybe others had different experiences, but so far I'd give it a 1 star on service and barely a 3 star on food. Maybe their strong suit is the bakery, but the service was just abysmal all 3 times I stopped by.

Was expecting great things from all the glowing reviews, but was disappointed. Had blueberry pancakes, which comes with a choice of bacon, potatoes, or fresh fruit. When my order arrived with 3 strips of bacon, I realized I forgot to tell the waitress that I wanted fresh fruit. I wish she'd confirmed with me that bacon was ok before she chose that for me and put the order in, but oh well. On the plus side, we did ask if it would be possible to get fresh fruit, and she took care of it cheerfully, so that was really nice. On the minus side, the fruit was a cup of diced apple flecked with mysterious black specks (which I tried to remove as best I could with my napkin) and so-so grapes. My pancakes were a bit dense and gluey, but on the plus side, they were not too sweet or oily. The menu said the pancakes would be topped by butter and brown sugar sauce, so I asked for them on the side. The waitress told me that's how they serve it, except when it arrived, it was a single cup of melted butter with brown sugar. I was kind of hoping to avoid soaking my pancakes with butter. I thought brown sugar sauce might've been ok, but as it was, I couldn't get much brown sugar on the pancakes because of the thick layer of melted butter on top. I probably would've preferred maple syrup, if it were available. I also tried a piece of their French bread toast, and the bread seemed pretty good, except that it had too much butter on it for my taste. Will request dry toast with butter on the side next time! Having heard also how great their baked goods were, I was planning to get dessert there. However, when I looked in their display case, nothing grabbed me. I'd tried one of their vanilla bean sugar cookies the previous day at Square Books, and it was ok. It was a basic sugar cookie, and so from that standpoint it was fine, but I was expecting a nice vanilla flavor, but I didn't notice any. Also, it looked like it was supposed to be a soft cookie, but it turned out to be dry and crumbly, so that disappointed me as well. So, I decided against having one of their cookies again. Their muffins looked like they might be overly sweet for my taste, and the "pop tarts" and cupcakes were topped with a lot of icing. "Chocolate puddle" and pecan pie looked a bit too heavy and sugary for me as well. I'm told they have good sandwiches and soup, though, so I want to give those a try sometime. I might try one of the desserts as well (but will likely remove the icing). Plenty of parking in the adjoining lot.
