Probably wouldn't go back... Ended up here because the other restaurant was full , granted it was Mother's Day .... We had a large group in which they wanted to seat us at 2 different tables - which was perfectly fine, however, in 2 different rooms-- when there was several tables open around the first one. Next, we order our food ahead of several other tables, took much longer than it should have. And the end result - omelettes that were not cooked throughout.... Not the worst experience, but it just seemed like they woke up and decided to open . The door says brunch, but half the menu wasn't even available to order (and brunch consisted of a menu to order omelettes)

Very disappointed. So far our dining experiences in Oxford have been great so we went into Fins without checking Yelp review. Everyplace had a long wait (Friday PM) and they didn't. We ordered oysters as appetizer- they were okay (a few were pretty small). Then we waited almost an hour for our meal. The amounts of food were paltry ( the fish plate was $23- less than a $12 plate we had gotten the previous day at another restaurant). It was a very small piece and the rice with carrots and peas were pretty bad. They tasted like frozen carrots and peas added to a package of stovetop rice. The salad was good and reasonably price, but the sushi very limited. About 10 minutes after our meal served, the side of asparagus was served which was almost too salty to eat. So we got a lousy meal for two which was nearly $65 with lousy service and a long wait. We felt totally ripped off! After we can out, we saw friends who had eaten a great meal across the street with lots of great food and wine for less than what we paid. We will ALWAYS check YELP before dining out in a new place!

A long awaited visit to Fins! This place opened up last year on the square (replacing Irie), giving it a great location... Just a few doors down from Chef Clint's other restaurant. Let's get down to business, shall we? Parking was relatively convenient (for the square). Servers were fantastic! Super friendly and made dinner enjoyable. Oysters were large AND good, so a very good value. The lemons were cut weird, so it wasn't possible to squeeze it onto the oysters. Boyfriend said that the Skinny cat was good, but he wishes it was a bit more thinly sliced. I enjoyed the mahi mahi for the most part. It was on the drier side, which is where the lemon caper butter definitely helped. Apparently, Mr. Phat's sushi is also here. You are able to sit at the back bar, or you can order from anywhere in the restaurant. I found the font on the sushi menu extremely hard to read... Almost to the point of unprofessional (stereotypical asian font. Think, 'Chinese takeaway' or 'seven monkey fury' if you are familiar with font types... If not, think karate slashes?). Between the front and the sushi area, there are these walls that allow you a "booth" type seating area, like oxford grill house. Personally, I wouldn't sit there because it's directly 3 feet across from the bathrooms... But hey, if you're into that sort of thing.... All in all, not a bad place. Food was typical square prices, but ambience still reminded me of Irie and my weekends out in undergrad.

See he couldn't get investors to fall for his change of concept scheme. Closed like I said would happen

Service ruined our experience here. Friday night of a baseball and basketball game weekend, and it was almost completely empty. Should have been our first warning. Went here for after dinner drinks after an amazing City Grocery meal. No one was at the hostess stand (not a big deal) so we take a seat at the empty bar. A waiter/table busser walks up and places glasses behind the bar and greets us with an eye roll and nothing else. After sitting for a couple minutes with no acknowledgement that we are there, I ask my wife if she wants to leave. She patiently says let's wait. The bartender sends another guy over to give menus and says he will be there in a minute. I ordered a beer flight (only 1 of my 4 choices was available) and my wife ordered a margarita. Luckily for her, an off-shift bartender concocted her cocktail which she enjoyed. Our second round of a diet coke (which never arrived) and the worst "mojito" of all time fared less than adequate. The cocktail consisted of a glass of rum with a splash of club soda and some mint leaves. Our poor bartender in training was fairly sociable but greatly undereducated in his craft. We overheard that another table forgot to tip. Forgot - right... We learnt that the establishment opened during the Alabama home game last fall. The odds of it remaining open for the rematch in 2016 are less than the student section not rushing the field should the Land Sharks repeat the feat.

Eaten here twice. First time both my husband and my fish had so much salt and pepper it was nearly inedible. We had heard good things about it and the owner's other restaurant, Grillehouse, is excellent, so we gave it another chance. This time my grilled shrimp was overcooked. The asparagus I ordered without sauce came out with sauce on it and everything on my plate was stone cold. Our waiter disappeared and after waiting 15 minutes to see him so we could get our check I finally had to flag down the manager to get it. Very disappointing.

Great weekend brunch! Go hungry. You can have Mr. Phat's Wok for lunch most days with a versatile menu. Haven't tried dinner, but heard great things about the oyster sampler platter!

I wanted to try this place because the sushi chef from two stick moved here. My brother and I went after I heard him rave about the sushi. Initially entering we were asked if we'd like a table or the sushi bar. We headed back to the sushi bar. The waiters weren't necessarily rude but acted almost like they were better than us for some reason, as most everyone in oxford does. I just didn't expect it from a waiter. The restaurant seems to target higher level dining without being fine dining. They seemed to be doing "fantastic" because the restaurant, at close to peak dinner time or a weekday, was completely empty. I ordered some hot and sour soup and it was much darker than most I've encountered. It had a very peppery taste but not a good peppery. More like someone had dumped a ton of black pepper in it, and it looked that way also. Worst hot and sour soup I have ever placed in my mouth. The sushi was pretty good as expected from two stick. I got the salmon roll and it was what I expected but was $11 for one roll that I feel is worth more like $8 at most. My brother had a spicy shrimp roll, which you cannot get made this way anywhere else in Oxford but two stick. I figured out that's why he liked it so much. Overall I will not be going back and I believe this place will be closing very soon.
