We had a good service, the food was good and the atmosphere was good. We were vegetarian items only

For Oxford, this is about the best you can get. The sauces are good and taste homemade. The salsa is meh...serves the college crowd just fine. If you order a margarita, be sure to get a top shelf or you will end up with a neon green 'rita with "limata" instead of fresh lime juice. SIDE NOTE: Stay away during Cinco de Mayo or any other Mexican holiday as this place tends to run crazy drink specials that bring the sorority/fraternity crowd in droves....and when you have 50+ cars driven by self serving, oblivious 20 somethings in a poorly designed parking lot with one entrance/exit road rage is involuntary even for the most patient of patrons.

As far as Mexican food in Oxford goes, this is pretty good. They have my favorite dish, the Molcajete, which came with the largest jalapeno I have ever seen, adobo peppers, green onions, and cactus, all pretty authentic ingredients. However the meat was really fatty, and probably half inedible. The things that really bothered me here was the smell and the salsa. Casa Mexicana smells like a bathroom. Not like a dirty one, but one that has been really dirty for months, and then someone decided to clean it. Not my fav smell when walking into a restaurant. Secondly, the salsa tasted metallic indicating that they use canned ingredients. It also was more reminiscent of marinara sauce than salsa.

Good food. Good service. Enchiladas were good, tacos were ok. Order got mixed up a little, but they fixed it right away. Would recommend

I can usually tell if the food is gong to be good by the salsa they serve. The salsa was mediocre at best. When i asked then for the salsa they eat in the kitchen i was pleasantly surprised, Most of the dishes were just like you would find in any Mexican American restaurant Excellent homemade tortilla soup withe slices of guacamole floating about.

Very unprofessional and slow service. Didn't give my table silver wear or napkins until after our food was given to us...thus getting cold. Food is decent but service is seriously lacking.

This is the Casa Mexicana quesadilla. So good! Added sautéed mushroom and onions. You have to order the "green sauce" it's good with everything. My parents ordered the Fajita nacho with mixed chicken and beef..HUGE portion and unbelievable flavor. This had great authentic feel. This is my favorite Mexican place in oxford. Will have to order a "sizzling platter" next time, every time it was brought out the entire prestaurant smelled mouthwatering. Fresh chips, and great salsa. Also get the pico de gallo, was obviously fresh. The staff was super friendly and helpful, brought the good out very quickly. Overall great experience, will be back.

The food was delicious, the service was wonderful, but the place smelled like cleaning supplies. Not so appetizing.

For those who are wanting good food and excellent service, this is the place for you. I have been a patron for bit and every time it's not only the best service the food is very very good. I recommend anyone who wants good Mexican food this place is the best in town. Also not badly priced either.

Cheap beer. I like the Quesadillas. Pretty typical of others but I believe better than the rest.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
