Not bad at all! Traveling through for business and had to stay over night in Sedalia. Good enviroment, great food and Great prices! I ate like a champ for less than $15. Seriously, I had a chicken burrito, and an enchilada with the fixings along with chips and dip. Had a mega mug of dos equis XX with my meal as well, only $3.75, ha-ha I'm from a city and $3.75 gets you a 16oz bottle, not a half pitcher! Total bill was $13.73! Go for it! The people complaining about this place must have came on an off night- that or I did, I guess. I'd try it again.

Two words, Pollo Bandito. El Espolon is pretty straight forward Mexican food. Not bad but also nothing mind blowing or anything. So imagine a good Mexican restaurant and you are on the right track. They've got all the things you'd generally expect, etc. I wasn't blown away by the salsa or chips but they were both fine and free (I know that SHOULD be a given but I've been to a Mexican restaurant where you had to pay which is RIGHT OUT). I had been told to try the Pollo Bandito. I was not disappointed AT ALL. The chicken was all well cooked and moist and drenched in a really delicious cheese sauce. It was EXCELLENT. I don't do beans so have nothing to say on them, the rice was good. Service was good. They were on top of drinks and were very nice. The food was on the table very quickly.

I was unsure about El Espolo because of the mixed reviews. It was a good meal with courteous staff. I had a beef chimi plate.. too much food but good. My companions had an enchilada, taco and tamale, all good sized and packed with meat. Thumbs, up!

Took my son to eat here before he left to drive back home. Decided to try it because someone my husband works with recommended it. We are from Arkansas and this is the first mexican restaurant we have tried in west Missouri. I guess tastes for Mexican food are different for this area. The salsa tasted like pizza sauce (literally) not spicy at all. The refried beans were flavorful and had a really good taste like they were made from fresh cooked beans instead of canned, this was a plus. The cheese stuffed relliono was good, but not spicy hot like I like it. Overall the food lacked sauciness you would want when eating mexican food. If you like your Mexican food mild you will love this place!

Went there yesterday and service was good until my 11yr found hair in her food. Told the waiter and he seem to question it. The food was ok nothing to brag about.

We stopped here randomly on our way to Raven Rocks to climb. This place is truly great for what it is (an inexpensive Mexican restaurant). The salsa and food was tasty, crazy fast, and inexpensive. I recommend the Lunch #7. Service was excellent. If Raven Rocks turns out to be decent we'll definitely be back!

I was passing through Sedalia on the way home from a trip and stopped at this place on the way home. Even though I hated that whole weekend of camping in the woods and getting ticks, this place totally made the trip worth it. Good chips and salsa and legit Mexican food. It was some of the best i've had and service is exceptional. Huge selection as well.

This was our first time to the restaurant. I am sitting in the booth writing this review so disgusted with our experience. The wait staff was borderline rude and our waitress had more important things to do rather than wait on our table. Or food came out cool to the touch. We had to ask for the manager on three different occasions from the different people before they decided to visit our table. The chips were stale and apparently they ration how many baskets they bring. I would not recommend eating here. I am just completely upset with our experience.

This was my second visit and would have been3 stars I Had the moneray chickenit has onions green peppers and monaray jack cheese on grilled chicken the meat was cooked good not over cooked the chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. I Did find a 4 inch brown hair in my food and did comment to the chaser , now here is where they loose a star or two. She told me that there is no way that that hair could come from their kitchen because the cooks are all bald, we so am I and there was a hair in my food. I then told her in food service you should just say your sorry at the very least she then repeeted the same denile OMG there are 2 or thee other Mexican restaurants in town . All I wanted was an apology! for goodness sakes

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
