This is my first stop here. Dropped in on way to work for a quick high protein meal and to check the news on WiFi ( yes, they have WiFi). I didn't see the poor reviews until I was seated. Some of the reviews were terrible and 1 actually mentioned racial discrimination! I have to tell you, my service was prompt, it was a clean place and the food was tasty and hot when served . No issues whatsoever. The manager told me on checking out changes had occurred recently ( apparently for the better!). So, I'll be back for breakfast !

Make sure you have plenty of time. After being seated I couldn't get anyone to take my order, my server was "busy with other tables" for 20 minutes. A customer was leaving and told the manager someone should help me. First and last time here.

I've been to this location twice. Once when they first opened, and I found the food offerings and the service to be standard IHOP fare. The second visit was very, very different. We stopped by later Sunday morning wanting breakfast. They didn't appear too busy (we saw empty tables and booths). We were seated right away. The hostess gave us our menus and promised that our server would "be with us shortly". So, we looked through the menus as we waited. Shortly after we were seated, a pair of gentlemen were seated at the table next to us. Within the next 15 minutes, those two gentlemen were given menus, water, and their order taken while our server, who had made eye contact with myself and my other half one more than one occasion, only stopped by to tell us that "she would be with us in a moment". After she said that, she went to the table of the two gentlemen, and proceded to assist them with something else. At that moment, I looked around. Another couple were seated a few tables over, having been seated before we were, just had menus without further service, waiting for their orders to be taken as well. I looked at a few other of the patrons, and a glaring pattern emerged: the black patrons were recieving preferential service over the non-black patrons. I didn't want to believe it, but there it was. We decided to leave. My other half mentioned something to the hostess on our way out. We didn't make any grand statements or anything, although the hostess did beg us to stay. We simply went to another eating establishment and spent our money there. I this is the type of business model that IHOP condones, then so be it. However, our money is good anywhere, and we certainly don't have to support such archaic practices. We definitely will not be visiting this establishment again.

I had been to this location once before. We have 2 IHOPs almost equidistant from our place but we felt this one had a little better service than the other one. The service and the food were what you would expect from a chain the first time we were there. It should be pretty simple to find a late breakfast there. Nothing fancy, just a place that would have plenty of coffee refills and some pancakes. My first clue that service was going to be an issue was that the hostess did not know what tables were available, which means that she was probably not using whatever system they use to keep track. After we chose a booth she walked us around looking for an empty place. I was really looking forward to drinking some coffee and was almost tempted to stop a waitress just to ask to bring us some, but instead I patiently waited for our waitress to come. After spending more than 5 minutes memorizing the menu and without even water at the table I started to look around the place. It was busy, but I figured that was pretty normal for a Sunday and we were seated without a wait. I noticed a couple sitting across the way on another booth in a similar situation with the difference that they did have water. They both looked to be waiting for their waitress still menus on hand. I was hoping this was not going to be a factor but another thing we had in common was that they were the other non African Americans currently seated in that area. I then see an older. well dressed gentleman sit on a table adjacent to us. A waitress greets him and starts small chit-chat with him. The same waitress that had made eye contact at least twice but had not stopped at our table to get our drink order. A good 5 more minutes go by and the waitress is walking over with a couple of waters. To my surprise they were not for us but for the gentleman and a new guy who was just joining him. At this point I am making excuses in my head. She is probably not our waitress. They might have sat us in a place with nobody assigned. Color has nothing to do with the situation. Then the same waitress that has ignored us most of the morning comes to our table, doesn't even stop by to take our order or bring us water. She causally says "I'll be with you in a minute." I've had enough at this point. We walked out and on my way out I let the lady that was sitting people down that nobody ever came by our table to take our order. She tried to stop us but I was just aggravated by the lack of service they were providing us. I did not need to read the other reviews about this place to know I would not be going back. They will not have my business in the future.

Terrible service! I had to wait over a hour for my food! And it was still not ready. The server didn't even come and ask if everything was okay. They had a party so we weren't as special it seems like. If I was anyone I don't recommend going here at all. Bc the management sucks and doesn't even care. And customer service is terrible! So if u want to wait a hr for ur food go for it!

I've only been here a couple of times in the middle of the night -- when else does one go to IHOP? -- but the service was decent, if a tad slow, and the food was well-prepared. The usual offerings of pancakes, crepes, and breakfast food beckon after a long night (or an early morning) & this place delivers without an issue. The manager was friendly & chatty, but perhaps he was bored, there weren't very many customers at that hour.

Zero ... Yuck...the worse service I've ever had...the manager is horrible. There were about 6 servers in the restaurant just relaxing. We sat for 15 minutes and not one server approached us to take our order. My husband had to call one over to our table. My husband ordered sweet tea but was served plain tea. My husband and I ordered two omelettes and mine had plastic, yes an one inch piece of plastic in it. My husband tried to talk to the manager but he was quite dismissive and just brushed us off. There was even a table of young people who were sitting in a booth behind us throwing food and utensils on the floor. I was horrified while my husband picked it up and placed it on their table only to be disrespected. My family and I will never ever eat at this restaurant again. I'm also going to complain to their corporate office. Totally dissatisfied.

We are pretty certain there is hired wait staff that are discriminating against white patrons. We were seated and received coffee and water immediately but then one by one, other customers came in, were seated and had their orders taken. We were told several times, she would be right back to take our order but would then walk by and take another order from a customer that came in after us. We stopped her to ask if she would take our order and she said she would be right back. Instead, she took another order. Then she stopped by on her way to the kitchen and taped on our table and told us she would be right back to take our order. Instead, she walked past us again. We told ourselves, if she does it again we are walking out. So we did. The manager tried to stop us but we were too upset to stay. We won't be back and we look forward to the day we move from Raytown.
