The minute you walk in Mary Jane's, you know you are in a special place. It is an inviting place from the antique hardwood floor to the friendly faces that greet you. The employees really must love to work there. They are always smiling and making sure everything is just great for you. Inside the building is very rustic. Rough wood siding on the inside with wood floors and tables. They have unique carvings on the wall. The side of the building that faces the street is almost all glass. They even have two "garage door" type walls of glass that can be raised in good weather to bring the outside in. The food and the beer is the focus of this restaurant. The owner has taken great pride in presenting one of the most outstanding restobar menus in Southeast Missouri. I live in Cape Girardeau and this little place beats anything in our town. The specialty Burgers down to the gourmet fries, heck even the ketchup is unique in this place. I love just to sit down and ask what the special is and take what they think is best. I have never been disappointed. I'm not sure how many beers they have on tap but the lineup is impressive. They even have a beer tasting club you can join and they keep track of what you have tasted. They have Pizza's and about anything else you would expect from a bar/restaurant. What you won't expect is the flair and commitment that they put into every service. When I'm in Perryville it is my "go to" place to take my clients. It's hard to have a bad experience at Mary Jane's.

They have THE TASTIEST crab cakes ever!!! They are definitely my favorite on the menu! I have tried the sandwich and the appetizers. I think the appetizer is the better deal because you get two pretty big crab cakes. I'm not much of a fan of their fries because they are always overcooked and cold every time I get them with a meal. As for customer service, it's a hit or miss depending on who is working. The hostesses the last time I went with a friend did not seat us. Another group came in after us and she seated them first. This was a little annoying so we just sat at a table on our own. Also, it took a while before a waitress came to our table. Then finally we got the best waitress in the place. She has excellent customer service. I will have to ask for her name again because I can't remember right now.

Stumbled upon this gem earlier this evening. Fantastic location right on the square in Perryville. It's housed in an older building and the architecture is pretty neat; exposed brick walls, nicely appointed furnishings, tin ceilings---fantastic attention to detail. Service was superb. I had the Italian Stallion which is a burger topped with fresh, fried mozzarella, marinara sauce, and basil---best burger I've ever had. The beer cheese fries were awesome! Well worth making a trip for.

Food was great I would highly recommend this place. We were in town for a soccer tournament (on Mother's Day). We were seated and greeted right away but then the places filled up. The service was less then great and our meals were all brought out at different times, for instance I had ate my burger and fries before my 8 yr olds grilled cheese was brought to the table. I found them on yelp with high marks so will give service a pass this time.

Second visit to MJ and it was great! I met friends for lunch. We started with the pretzels and beer cheese dip and it was very good. My friend recommended the MJ Prime flatbread and I loved it!! The atmosphere was fun and our server was super nice. Can't wait to go back!

I had heard about this place from a friend. Gourmet burgers and a beer wall, I had to check this out. After the Smashburger tasting I have been on a quest for tasty burgers. This place is easy to find in Perryville, it is on the corner of Jackson St right at the square. I am not sure how long they have been open, I do know that the place is named after the owners mother Mary Jane, they have a beautiful vintage picture of her hanging proudly on the wall near the bar area. The place does not look that big from the outside, but the inside is huge. Nice comfortable high back warm leather chairs were nestled around tables. A hostess was on duty and seated us quickly. We were hungry and had a difficult time deciding which burger to eat. The menu offered about 14 burgers, what. They have a gourmet chef that creates each burger. I picked the Tricky Ricky, which was a quarter pound burger with swiss cheese, portabello mushrooms and a beef sauce. It was heavenly. My friend ordered the Johnny, it was a double cheese burger with fried onion rings and a bbq sauce. the backet were served with hand cut french fries and homemade catsup. Since I am not a beer drinker, I ordered the Bloody Mary, it was homemade, specks of pepper of the rim, celery, and a toothpick with olives and sausage. It was a little sip of heaven. They also offer a beer club, when you drink 20 of their different beers, you earn a beer club shirt. This place needs to be the next Yelp event in Perryville.

GREAT restaurant! Delicious food, friendly service, clean restrooms, awesome beer selections with tasting samples. My wife is from portland and it compares to the amazing restaurants there. This an oasis in a minefield of bullshit chain restaurants. Best spot to eat from jackson whole WY to Memphis TN.

WOW! This is not what one would expect to find in a small town! Mary Jane's is Classy, yet comfy, Roomy, yet intimate. The historical downtown building has been wonderfully restored with great care, and gives it a nostalgic feel as well. I had the Bulldoza Burger, it was a great burger - and the crispy fries with house made ketchup was a really great treat! Service was small town friendly, but big town attentive. I dined her on August 12, 2014 with my family, and although we do not live in the area we will return anytime we go down I-55.

The service was terrible from the moment we walked in the door. The waitresses are high school aged and only seemed to be there because their parents made them get a job. We were seated with no one telling us about the specials like the hostess did with other parties being seated. Our waitress spent most of her time talking to friends at another table instead of waiting on us. By the time we got our burgers and fries, the fries tasted old and they were cold. The burgers were good. The wings were smoked which I love a good smoked wing! Unfortunately, the poor service ruined our visit and we won't be back.

Never once thought I'd be drinking good craft beer on tap in Perryville. Exposed brick walls, wrought iron, tin ceilings. Music was a great mix, I'm always leary of musical taste with the locals, but this was a good cultured mix. Service was great, was promptly seated, had drinks within a few minutes, appetizers within 15-20 minutes and our meal within 30 minutes. The Poutine was an excellent hot, runny mess, just what I was expecting with fries, cheese and gravy. The Fried Pickles were fantastic, perfectly breaded and seasoned. The Bulldoza burger was decent along with the Philly Cheesesteak. Looking forward to trying more burgers. Would love to see some other options that I'm sure will pop up (fish tacos, bacon fat popcorn, etc.) Service was fantastic, our waitress came by enough to meet our needs and check up, but did not overdo it. The craft beer deserves it's own mention. Very nice to see some good brews on tap including Deschutes Brewery (Mirror Pond), Schlafly Pale Ale, Ranger IPA. So stoked to see an IPA on tap. Hopefully the domestic selection will drop off and make room for some true standouts (Delirium Tremens, Founders Breakfast Stout, Titan IPA).

We were heading north on I-55 when we stopped at the Perryville exit for gas. Realizing our hunger, the roadside usuals didn't satisfy our appetite. Found this great place not too far off the highway well worth the detour. Great flavorful burgers perfectly grilled and seasoned. Good service and nice atmosphere. These patties hold there own to any big city burger! I would make a point to dine here again!

  • Jerry R.

Very trendy place to enjoy an excellent burger and delicious fries. The ketchup was homemade. Best tasting ketchup I have had! I had the Bulldoza Burger. It was great! My friend had the grilled cheese and enjoyed it. Two meals, pops and a appetizer cost $30. Well worth it though. Atmosphere is very good and inviting too. Very well decorated. The front windows were open where you could sit inside but have it feel as if you are outside. The waitstaff said the bar actually glows at night too. Service was excellent! We were looking for a place to have lunch and stumbled upon this diamond. You could go there with friends or take a client. Definitely a must eat!

Stopped in on the way to Memphis. The food was great and the staff was very friendly. The menu was extensive and had a lot to offer ... it was very hard to choose! We started with fried green tomatoes which were crispy and delicious. Next I had the goat cheese mushroom burger and Mom had the prime rib flatbread ... both were delicious. We had the sweet corn and ginger beignets for dessert which were out of this world! The beer menu was quite good as well ... enjoyed the Big Muddy Pumpkin! Great decor and awesome space! Will def. be back when coming through the cute town of Perryville!!!!

I was in town visiting friends and they took me to this most fabulous place. Unpretentious. Great food! Started with the smoked, barbecued wings- delicious! Mac-cheese delicious! Fried mozzarella- you guessed it! Delicious... a great find in a small town. Now lets talk about the burger I ate. DELICIOUS! NO JOKE. IMaryJane!

This place is worth the drive from I-55. I'll plan future trips between MEM-STL to be sure I can eat lunch or dinner here.

Love this place. Definitely worth the 10 minute drive from I-55. We had fried pickles, pork stuffed wontons and crab cakes. All were delicious and reasonably priced!

What a place! Top 5 burger ever. Don't pass up the pretzels and cheese. This place could make it in a big city. If u r from pville and haven't been here wtf! Go and enjoy!

  • Adam G.

Love Mary Janes. They burger selection is awesome and only surpassed by their beer selection. The pork rangoons are the star of the menu in my opinion. One of the best appetizers I've ever had. The decor and atmosphere are also rustic and top notch. There isn't much about Mary Janes I don't like.

Some of the best food around! Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great selection of draft beer. Skip Buffalo Wild Wings and come here.

Excellent place for lunch and dinner. Food is simply awesome. Best burger you will find anywhere. Huge selection of appetizers, lots of unique burger and sandwich choices, good beer selection, and the atmosphere is a homerun.

  • Derek L.

Not your typical menu and for that I give them 4 stars. For atmosphere 4 stars. I ordered the cheesesteak and it was very good but the style of bread they use would not be my first choice. It had a very hard texture but had the taste of an everything bagel. Good restaurant. I would go back. It's good to see a locally owned restaurant with some swag.

I found this place on here (Yelp). I was in town Chiropractically adjusting horses and was looking for a local place to have lunch. This place was a GREAT find! It's kind of like an upscale dive. I no longer choose to drink, but they have an excellent beer selection. I ordered a Johnboy burger, which came with house cut fries and homemade ketchup. All of the above were downright delicious! The only negative thing I could say is about the service. The young lady taking care of me was very attentive and said all the right things, but it seemed her friendliness was fake and not genuine. Regardless, I will definitely be back when I'm down here again. I wish there were another location closer to me (STL)!!!

  • Chris S.

Worth the drive! Every time I go to Mary Jane's I am greeted with the intoxicating smell of those burgers. The Blackened Bleu burger is to die for. Not to mention the bartenders and wait staff are extremely easy to get along with and are very knowledgeable. I ended up having a long conversation just over the house-made condiments (the smoked ketchup... you can drink that stuff). I can't wait to get back and talk to the boys at the bar and have another great experience. I would give them another star, but that would just be overkill. Enjoy!

First off, this place has great character and a wonderful staff. We had the dube' and the bbq piggy served with the best fries ever! Our food was prepared well and our waitress was pleasant. Overall I would recommend this place to the world, well worth driving over an our for lunch. Cant wait to go back for dinner and cocktails.

When I'm visiting my sister in Cape, I've always missed a microbrew place with some killer food. I've always told her that's why I won't move near her. Well tucked away in little town called Perryville is Mary Jane's. I'm now rethinking of moving to Cape. This place was phenomenal. Truly. I ordered the smokey jam burger. Holy Yum!! It was topped with smoked Gouda and bacon jam and garlic aioli. I ordered the pretzel with beer cheese as well. I included my picture of the pretzel however my burger was almost gone by the time I remembered to snap a picture. They have rotating microbrews and I talked to the bartender about making beer. It sounds like there are some big plans for this place and I definitely will be a patron. IF YOU GPS this place from Yelp: CAUTION: my GPS took me the wrong way down the one way street to get here. This street was recently made into a one way so that Mary Jane's could have a patio. If you turn on the street the wrong way it's also right in front of Perryville Police Department.

Mary Jane's was my husband's idea. What a wonderful surprise! First the service was great . Our server was attentive , funny and helpful. The Food : Apps: Fried Pickles , and Soft Pretzels with beer cheese (homemade) . Well the pretzels were warm , soft , delicious. The beer cheese was tangy with blend of peppers yummy . The fried pickles were homemade , fresh out of the frier. Man were they hot ! The batter was good , it helped bring out the tang in the pickle without taking away from it . The sauce was good but I felt it covered up the pickle taste . The meals : We got burgers . I got the Monk burger . Bacon , beer cheese , onions , pretzel bun . Yummy yummy . The burger itself was big and juicy . The the beer cheese and bacon , were a wonderful compliment to the burger . The only complaint I have was that I like my burgers medium, wish they would have asked . In all I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We will be back !

My husband friend and myself came down here for lunch once and absolutely loved this place. The food was phenomenal and although we weren't fond of the beer selection because we are beer snobs, the did have a good selection of various microbrews. We made the 90 mile one way trip back here for lunch today because it was so delicious last time- but this experience was so terrible that we won't be back to find out if it was on off day. My mushroom burger had four little mush rooms on it, my server was neglectful and didn't seem like she knew what she was doing, they tried to upcharge me for a salad with my sons meal but they failed to inform me that it would be upcharge. They just put it on my bill. Which I am never appreciative of. And our French fries were old and soggy.

So lots of good reviews already written. What I would add is this is not just a small town hidden gem bar an grill. The food is excellent! The food is unique! A chef with some real skills creates some awesome combinations. And of course served with some really good brews. They even have a monthly beer pairing 6 course meal event.

Used Yelp! to find this place while on I-55...thank you Yelpers Cool place, great menu, easy to get to....and just 2.2 miles off I-55! 3 stars for good burgers and another star for cool factor

Why can't I give more stars?! Excellent everything! We tried wings, burgers, salad and 7 beers. Everything was so well done and the atmosphere is top notch. The owners are so kind and truly care about their business. Friendly staff and great location in a small town. Love you guys!

For being in the confines of a small town, this place certainly had a big-city vibe to it. We were told that this place was a must by some Ste. Genevieve locals, so we decided to stop here for dinner on our way home to Memphis. I wish we could have brought this place home with us. They had a really cool ambiance and a very creative burger menu. They also had a wide array of beers, and flights there are quite affordable. The service was good and the burgers we had (Holy Cheesus and The Monk) were both on point. If I lived in Perryville or anywhere remotely close to there, I would be eating/drinking here exceptionally often. I already know any time I am passing by Perryville on a road trip, I will be coming back to this place either on the way up or down; it is fantastic and highly recommended!

Solid!!!! If you are in Perryville and need a bite to eat - include this place on your trip plan. Impeccable customer service, OUTSTANDING hamburger and fries, and the pretzel with the beer cheese dipping sauce arrived hot, fresh, and ready to eat. The beer sampler is probably one of the best values on the menu - six, seven ounce beers from their rotating draft menu. Very positive experience!!

  • Jake K.

EAT HERE, PLEASE!!! This is a gem of a place. Doesn't look like much from the inside, but don't judge a book by the covert. Outside is plain, but very nice on the inside. The burgers, very very very good. If you are from the St. Louis/Metro-East, then an easy comparison is best described as: This place is to burgers as the PEEL in Edwardsville, IL is to pizza. Probably one of the best gourmet burgers I have had, EVER. They seem to do everything right. The buns are excellent and don't fall apart. The burger itself is thick, juicy, and seasoned well. The toppings are not over done. You can taste the flavors, but they don't come pouring off the burger to make a mess. Had the Dube and the wife had the Italian Stallion. Had the fresh pretzel with beer cheese, both very good. Only flaw if any, and these are minor compared to the whole, server was new, so some service was lacking, but she was very friendly. Second, They didn't have Malt Vinegar. They have fish and chips on the menu, and their fries are awesome and would go well with the vinegar. But this would not keep me from this place, I can always bring my own Malt Vinegar. We have found our go to burger place, and well worth our drive to get there.

Wow! If you've never been to Perryville Missouri, now you a bonafide reason to visit. The extensive array of draft microbrews and gourmet burgers (and other fare) set this place apart!

Wow! What a gem this place is. We picked Mary Janes because it was about an hour away from each of us AND had great Yelp reviews. Pink lemonade in mason jars, rustic decor and great service welcomed us. We shared three appetizers; beer cheese and pretzels - YUM! Soft pretzel sticks with a cheesy melty dipping sauce that was such a perfect pair. The same beer cheese topped the beer cheese fries and oh my delicious! The perfect spicy kick makes these fries one of the best cheese fries dish ever. We also had the spicy chicken dip served with tortilla chips, naan (puffy pita like bread) and it was so good. For dinner, we had burgers, smoky jam burger with a bacon jam marmalade.. It was a little sweet but still delicious. Three of us had the dube burger.. Goat cheese and portobello topped this gourmet burger and we all enjoyed it. Beer selection was great. Prices were perfect. Ambiance was on point. Please take a drive out and check this place out. We will definitely be back. I had my eye on the steak and it will be mine!

Came in to try out the local favorite and it did not disappoint! To be honest we have lived her only a week and been here twice we liked it so much. The first time we went in it was a Saturday sat right away at the bistro style seating, which normally i HATE but we weren't right on top of the people next to us so I didn't mind. We heard about this "BEER CLUB" shirt they have and inquired about it to the owner "BOSS LADY" as it read on her Patched Beer Club Mechanic Style shirt. She was very nice and not a hi this is my place let me blow smoke up your buns nice.... Genuinely nice. Anyway the deal with the Beer Club shirt is easy drink 50 of their ever changing crafts on tap and get the shirt. Only 39 to go haha. The staff was knowledgeable about the beers when I have specific tastes when it comes to brew. Next the food. Not an overwhelming menu but to the point. Flatbread, burgers, and apps seem to be the basis. We ordered a locally baked pretzel with their beer cheese sauce, which i could eat with a spoon, rememeber its gotta kick with some peppers in it maybe they should mention to customers faint of heart. Jeff got the crabby paddy and i had a steak flatbread. Didin't get a side as that was plenty for us. I may also add that our food was about $20 together always nice. Don't forget to check out their drunk munchies chalk board with about 25 different small plates to share. Our second trip was cheese fries that were crispy and covered in cheese and bacon. We also had a half dozen smoked wings, we got naked wings cause I really like smoke flavors on chicken. We will be back!!! Gotta get me that sweet shirt!

Mary Jane Burgers and Brew is totally worth the drive from anywhere. They have some of the(if not THE) best burgers around. The atmosphere is very hip/cool/etc. They always have an interesting selection of craft beers on tap. If you don't want to try new beer, the domestics available in other forms. People are always friendly and food is always great! And if you're not a burger fan they have plenty of other options as well. Check out the bar bites for a great appetizer! Prices definitely reflect the quality of the meal/beer you get. If you want a cheap tasting burger and a bud light, this may not be your place. But if you want a killer burger, and you want to wash it down with a flavorful beverage, this is definitely your place. A breath of fresh air to the area's restaurant selection for sure.

Our food was great ,steaks cooked exactly as ordered, appetizers that were delicious and made to order. Waitress was very attentive and helpful in ordering. Great experience. I had a burger, my husband had steak. We loved the pork Rangoons and blonde Belgian ale. Tried a chocolate stout after dinner and it was delicious as well. Overall wonderful experience ( the hidden gem is the home made ketchup) YUM!

This Place is a Gem! You could just as easily think you were in Chicago rather than small town Missouri. All of the burgers have a special touch like an aioli or a pesto. In addition they have a large selection of craft beer on tap. Also lots of starters and late night bar bites. The interior space is a great mix of old and new with metal tile ceilings, original wood floors and different seating arrangements. All in all an excellent setup for a casual meal. Perryville is lucky to have Mary Jane.

The smoked meats are perfectly done. The smoked catsup will make you purchase a bottle for your home and the smoked scorpion pepper salsa spread is so perfectly balance with sweet and heat. Did I mention the beer menu??? Great IPA's...

Mary Janes is by far the best burger joint around! Love the mouth watering smoked sweet chili wings. Just had the Hammy Sammy for the first time the other day. Great combination of sweet and salty. Smoked ham with bacon and caramelized onions. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff are friendly and quick.

I dropped in after playing some disc golf at a local course. I was more than surprised at what this restaurant had to offer. Yes it's a standard pub food with an extensive tap selection, but with the great staff and great atmosphere I couldn't have been more pleased can't wait to stop back in.
