If you're tired of searching for that perfect Strawberry and Banana smoothie look no further. Mcdy's, Starbucks, sonic, Maggie moo's they all have nothing on Sheridan's S+B smoothie. I come here just for the strawberry banana smoothie and it's always perfect. Not thin and yucky like other places. They make it rich and smooth with real chunks of fruit!

I love this place. So much to choose from. Sheridan's frozen custard is great. Just check the menu and I am sure you will find something you like.

I am SO glad that we don't have Sheridan's in California or I would have to invest in several pairs of elastic-waisted pants. I was treated to a concrete (think Blizzard, West coasters) flavor called Wedding Cake. It was such a sinfully delicious blend of creamy vanilla frozen custard and an entire slab of distinctively yummy reception cake, that I fear I'll be pining so hard for it that I'm going to lose sleep writing late-night love poems. Le sigh.

Though the menu got reduced a little a few years ago, Sheridan's still has some of the best frozen custard and concretes around. Everything on the menu is good, and they're pretty flexible on mix-ins and whatnot.

The menu has a lot of variety; concretes, sundaes, milkshakes, and other frozen treats. They seem expensive at first however their portions and sizes are generous considering the price. Everyone is always friendly. The concretes are my favorite, especially the mocha flavored one. Their products are always consistent no matter what time I visit; it's the same when they open as just before closing. I bring all my out-of-state friends here and it's one of their favorite places to eat dessert!

I'm giving this a 3 because my daughter likes it and the staff was friendly, beyond that I just don't get the fuss. I ordered a pecan blizzard and my daughter had a blueberry sundae. It's okay at best. The flavor is bland to me and tasted like something served at home instead of a professional establishment. Maybe I didn't try the right thing? My daughter loved hers. I was surprised the sundaes didn't come with whipped cream and a cherry.

Razzle Dazzle Sundae! Especially delicious in the Summer time. The one I had on Tuesday was wonderful: Creamy vanilla custard topped with fresh Raspberries and Hot Fudge Sauce. There are lots of "favorites" for me here and it's always a challenge to pick just one. Hubby chose a Mocha Almond Concrete this time...it is also a favorite of mine. I've yet to get any treat that I wouldn't get again...but, then, I avoid items I'm not fond of in the first place (Gummi Worms come to mind). The only thing that keeps us from going more often (and giving that 5th star) is the fact that there is no inside seating at the location. So, sometimes it's too cold to sit outside and sometimes it's too hot. Tuesday was just right.... and the Razzle Dazzle Sundae was fabulous!

Great experience! I promised my son ice cream before we left the city to head home, we live over a hour away, anyway I pulled up at 1:30pm and their winter hours say they open at 2 it said. I was like oh no but they waved me around to the window and took my order with no issues. First time my son has gotten to eat there! Was great!

Love frozen custard!!! I prefer this over frozen yogurt, TCBY, ice cream, soft serve, etc! Now I won't go as far as saying I prefer it over gelato though. ;) My recommendation is to get anything w/butter pecan flavoring! OMG! To die for. I know it has a special name on the board but it will not disappoint you.

Delicious custard with friendly service. Sometimes I just order a cup of the custard because it is so good by itself. Other times I get the razzle-dazzle; a sunday with vanilla custard, raspberries, and chocolate fudge. This is a great thing to split on a date. The sour raspberries in a sauce balance the warm chocolate and sweet custard. A consistent winner of a dessert.

A recent stop in at an inferior custard shop made me realize just how precious Sheridan's is. I have a bunch of dumb feelings about chains and franchises, but since Sheridan's started locally, and since Sheridan's is awesome, I have no qualms about spending my money there. The Independence locale is my favorite spot; I love the walk-up window, and the all-outdoor seating is perfect for chilling on a spring or summer night. This custard is real custard. You can taste the vanilla, and you can feel the smooth, velvety richness that only the addition of real egg yolks somewhere in the process can give. The wedding cake concrete will blow your mind. The razzle dazzle sundae is truly, truly divine, and so chockablock with raspberries that sometimes I can actually convince myself that my dessert is nutritious. But enough about me and my capacity for delusion. They got good custard here, and you should go get some of it.

I LOVE SHERIDAN'S. That being said, this one is pretty good. With franchises, you typically will find one that is better than another. This one hits most of the marks. The custard is out of the ballpark delicious! It is easy to get in and out if you are in the drive through. They have a place where you can park and eat the custard outside on benches. Everything is well lit. They always get my order correctly. Prices are labeled correctly. I can understand the people that take my order. Standard good marks for a Sheridan's. I love custard and all things connected, added, and drizzled on it. There are toppings on top of toppings with additional fruits, nuts, berries, and sauces. They have a seasonal peach cobbler that is a little off at this location. Otherwise, 99 items right and only one bad one. NOW GO AND GET YOUR CUSTARD ON!

Super good! Went twice in three days and got a vanilla concrete with Reese's Pieces both times.

After having dental work that is during the worst time of the year for food consistency restrictions, I decided to poison my soul with ice cream, shakes, slushes, sundaes...Sheridan's is one of only 3 ice cream/frozen yogurt shops in my general area. Sheridan's has a large enough flavored custard menu that it is quite possible to make a meal here (of a concerete, which is $4.95, and consist of an ice cream called "custard' mixed with things) daily for atleast 4 weeks, and it be something different. Get out of the way, boring boxes of grocery store ice cream, I've eaten every one of you. Bring on the flavors! Pumpkin pie, Chocolate voodoo, create your own, mango....hundreds of combinations, all within price range. My favorite is Mango-Dango. It's a weekly addiction, and has been for years. All fresh, and loaded with dairy goodness from a cow's utters, and pies, fresh fruit, nuts...oh yum. The shakes, well, I'd almost bypass them, for their size, and hit up Sonic's, but the rest is a work of dairy yumminess, which I'm allergic to and carry an inhaler for. Not to mention, this time of year, they appreciate my business cause I hardly ever see any cars there. Sheridan's is good, sweet and interesting, and they make good take home, order in advance, pies as well. I've also gotten their custard by the quart. Eat all the ice cream you want, this stuff is delicious!

Love Sheridan's, with its creamy rich custard and long list of mix-ins. The Red Velvet Crush is a particular fave, but really, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The smallest size is still a generous twelve or so ounces (not sure exactly... but I can never finish & the Guy ends up with an extra half-serving of custard. Good thing we don't hit it too often, it could be dangerous to his waistline.) Service in the drive-thru is quick & friendly.

I was here during the summer for a week. And as long as I was here, I tried to come here often. I was probably here 3 times.. and GOSH, did they have some good ice cream! Since i'm not from from the east coast, I had no idea wth a concrete was. Think like blizzard, or even cold stones. Mushed up ice cream and toppings in one. maybe some people don't like their ice cream like that, but i do! It's something you just have to try. trust me.

I stayed at the motel behind Sheridan's and when we pulled up, I was like, "What the heck is this??! Frozen custard? I've never heard of such a thing!" One thing I knew for sure, was that it sounded amazing! I have no clue what I ordered, but it was custardy and creamy, just as I had imagined. Then I wondered why the hell Seattle doesn't have a Sheridan's! Well, now we have something similar, but it's super trendy, rather pricey, and the line is usually out the door, so it's not nearly as fun as my visit to Sheridan's. The closest Sheridan's location that we have on the west coast is in Vancouver, WA, so anytime I head down to Portland, I like to stop at the Vancouver location to reminisce about my visit to Independence, MO. Friendly, yummy, inexpensive and unique. Whatever you do, go there on an empty stomach!!

Wrong orders & overcharges. Went to Sheridan's with my husband and ordered a small cup of custard; the total was $3 and change. Checked my bank statement a few days later and they had charged me over $9! I was unable to do anything as I no longer had the receipt. I decided to give them one more shot and ordered a French Silk concrete made with chocolate custard. Instead I was given some sort of brownie concoction, and the brownie pieces tasted freezer-burned. I would definitely not go back.

I love Sheridan so much. This is one of the places I miss most now that I've moved away. There's no indoor seating, just a couple of tables and the curb against the parking lot, so it's a fun place to come on those nights when you feel like being lazy and sober. My best friends and I used to spend our summers here, hanging out late at night and trying something new every time. There are literally hundreds of combinations, but I usually stick with something small and simple. You meet the coolest people in a place this small -- guys sharing ice cream with their dogs, high school kids on dates, hot guys. When I think of awesome things to do in Independence this place always comes to mind. Next time I'm in town, this will be a place to visit the first day.
