I had a really lovely stay here on my cross-country road trip. Pam is warm, helpful, and attentive. She offered advice about where to eat and made us feel very welcome. She served us hot breakfast (eggs, fruit, muffins, and coffee!) at exactly the time we had requested, and even had gluten-free muffins at the ready for me. The rooms are small, but very sweet and totally clean. Highly recommended!

I'm....addicted to White Chocolate Blended Mocha Frappucinos, and this location gets it right every time. I order it, "White Chocolate Mocha Frozen blended, sized medium." Hardly ever a line, so I don't usually need to wait. $4.25 plus a bit of tax, and I'm back out to my car. I find myself, about 1:30 some afternoons about to fall alseep at my computer, and this location is close enough I can visit it when I need to, for a quick wake up. It is highly convenient inside Hy-Vee. But I have trained myself to go into the Hy-Vee specifically for Starbucks. Therefore, this review is necessary. It's possible I go into this Starbucks once or twice a week. I don't like coffee, but Starbucks, specifically this location's White Chocolate Mocha Blended Frozen Frappucino that I have ordered all over the United States, has the best beverage. I thrive on this Starbucks. They mix the beverage, and almost overfill the cup, and I don't have to stir it cause it's already blended so perfectly. The ice is completely ground to consistency, and the white chocolate is sweet enough to smell. The taste isn't bitter, and the mixture is perfect every time...The service is great, and I can't complain. They have a few pastries most of the time, also. another plus when you don't want to go to the grocery store, just for a snack. there are a few chairs to sit on the side of Starbucks, or you can order it and shop, or order it to go. Don't they say "Good to the last drop"? That might not be a Starbucks slogan, but it's perfect for this coffee shop inside Hy-vee.

HoneyBaked Ham

Reviews:
Thanksgiving.....Christmas.....The Honeybaked Ham Company. This ham is SO EXPENSIVE that we only splurge once or twice a year. It is, however, primo ham that is fit for the feast. Half hams of sizes from 6 lbs. and up are smoked for about 20 hours, then glazed and spiral cut to make it easy to serve. These hams are always tender and perfectly juicy and flavorful. The glaze is mighty fine and adds just the right finishing touch. Sandwiches made from the leftovers will be as good as it can get and finally, I use the bone and any ham pieces that are left to make wonderful homemade bean soup. Yum! Yep, it's worth the money and our family appreciates the quality of the product and knows I've made the effort to celebrate the holiday with the best.

This is my absolute favorite donut shop, and even though I moved from Independence I make sure to eat here whenever I am in town. I think it is a family restaurant because there are certain weeks that the whole shop is closed for vacations and etc.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of donuts here. The wait staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The donuts are inexpensive and they taste oh so good. They have one of the best old fashioned donuts I've ever had. Don't go to a chain when you can stop by here. The only drawback is that they don't except plastic (cash only).
Good Donuts. Great location and convenient hours in the early AM. Decently priced and service w a big

Sheridan Frozen Custard

Reviews:
If you're tired of searching for that perfect Strawberry and Banana smoothie look no further. Mcdy's, Starbucks, sonic, Maggie moo's they all have nothing on Sheridan's S+B smoothie. I come here just for the strawberry banana smoothie and it's always perfect. Not thin and yucky like other places. They make it rich and smooth with real chunks of fruit!
I love this place. So much to choose from. Sheridan's frozen custard is great. Just check the menu and I am sure you will find something you like.
I am SO glad that we don't have Sheridan's in California or I would have to invest in several pairs of elastic-waisted pants. I was treated to a concrete (think Blizzard, West coasters) flavor called Wedding Cake. It was such a sinfully delicious blend of creamy vanilla frozen custard and an entire slab of distinctively yummy reception cake, that I fear I'll be pining so hard for it that I'm going to lose sleep writing late-night love poems. Le sigh.

Sweet summer memories begin here. I have came here for years and years and it's such a great time. I have came here to see movies but heck who comes to watch the movies?! You go for the experience and a great time outdoors. Going here with a group of people makes it so much fun. I can't lie and say that I haven't brought alcohol but hey it's a good time! The concession stands and restrooms are old so they are a little scary looking. I make sure to grab my snacks and go to the little girls room before. Ha. It's super cheap though! Double feature and it's like $10. How awesome is that?! Beats other movie prices. I will continue to go to this place every summer. I love it and hope it doesn't close any time soon!
I've only been to this place a couple times -- once to watch Josie and the Pussycats when I was 12, and a few years ago with my boyfriend when we needed a new date idea. Both times were a lot of fun, and it's definitely an experience I'm glad I got to have. Yeah, the place is kind of rundown and old-fashioned, but that's part of what makes it charming. As another yelper put it, it's like traveling back in time. I hope I can come here again soon.
I was flabbergasted not only that this drive-in still exists, but because it remains operational. Hooray for keeping a small piece of obsolete pop culture alive! It was novel even back when I was in high school, but we admittedly only came here to socialize with our smuggled wine coolers and 3.2% beers on summer nights. I didn't get to witness what shenanigans today's demographic is up to, but based on the current-run films listed on its marquee, I think they're actually coming to watch the movies. So cool!
