A good local eatery, selling standard mid-west cuisine. If you have asthma, bring your inhaler... Not only is smoking permitted, it's permitted everywhere. Grab an ashtray and seat yourself! You haven't been to High Ridge, House Springs, Murphy, etc. if you haven't eaten at Slingers.

Nice little diner - clean, nice staff, good coffee, good home style food served in perfect sized portions. They're known for their slinger, but the slammer is also a good choice - saw the grill cook getting other breakfast standards ready and those looked good too (pancakes, french toast, etc). Early open, but the weekend breakfast crowd shows up later...mostly families with kids - nice crowd We will definitely go again

Looks great, food sounds delicious and a comfortable diner feel. Unfortunately, I am never going to go because it's smoking. Also can't bring my child here for a family brunch.

I've been eating at this same spot since it was Eat Rite Diner when I was a kid, and little has changed over the years, except the sign over the door and some mild sprucing up of the place. The food is the same great traditional diner cuisine and hasn't changed over the years. If you are offended by smoking, you probably won't care too much for this place; they have two smoking sections - ultra and regular :); seriously, though, I wish they'd take part of the divided restaurant and make it no smoking for those who don't want a side of second hand smoke. The clientelle is as gnarly as the staff, but everyone is very friendly and service is good. If you are in the mood for a good old fashioned greasy spoon, this is one of the best in the area; head over across the Jeff Co line to the run down little area where it is, and you won't be sorry when you leave.

Diner style; food is adequate but smoke is horrible. Yep, they still do have restaurants that have heavy smoke/smokers in them. Since there are so very few restaurants like this, I think it might draw a larger smoking crowd. This will be my last visit - they don't need my business and I don't like to have to spend more money on cleaning clothes.

This place is a blast from the past. The working man's dollar goes far here as you can feed the whole family for under $30!! Breakfast is so good and the burgers are crispy edged and juicy. Yummy A+!

The ladies were friendly and the coffee was good, as were the hashbrowns, but my omelette sat on the plate for at least five minutes while the hashbrowns cooked so it was cold when I got it and the cheese wasn't melted. Also, coffee hasn't been refilled in about fifteen minutes. I wanted to like it...I wanted to have a local place to come to...But I think I'll keep looking

Nice place to get breakfast but not worth the trip if you don't live near it. Granted I did not purchase the slinger.
