We stopped here after a recent MU game because we really miss visiting the Jefferson City location - it was always a family favorite when I was growing up there and later when I would bring my own kids home to visit the grandparents. Today, we had a wonderful server, Deb, who did a terrific job of taking care of us without getting in the way. After her encouragement, we branched out with a new pizza selection and I must say, we might have a new favorite! We tried the Venus pizza which was so simple, yet so tasty. It had gyro meat, tomatoes and onion. I was afraid it wouldn't have enough flavor, but Deb convinced us to give it a try and we were so glad that she did. We've spent some time trying to figure out if it's the crust, the mushrooms, the sauce or they way they cut it into little squares that makes their pizza so addicting, but whatever the reason, we can't resist it! We are anxiously waiting for the new location to open in Lenexa, KS and we will be able to get our fix that much easier:)

Pretty large inside which was surprising since it is in a strip mall. The employees are all very friendly and the service is prompt. We had a chicken BBQ pizza which was good - not stellar -but good. Will I go back - mmmm maybe - but this is only my second visit to Columbia and with my daughter starting college I think I would like to try some other places before returning. But you give it a try and let me know what ya think!

Hands down, best gluten free pizza ever. Makes me soooo happy!!! I usually just get take out, but I have noticed that they have a nice little separate room with one table for a party of 8-10 (I think)...looks very cozy.

We started off with an appetizer: red pepper hummus and pita bread. It was OK. The serving portions were generous but the hummus wasn't anything special. Next up was the pizza. It was a thin crust pizza, and I'm not crazy about thin crust. The ingredients were spread pretty thin. My finance thought the pizza was bland. Overall: OK food, reasonably priced, but I wouldn't go back.

Atmosphere: This has to be by far the nicest place I have ever eaten a gyro. From the outside it looks like a typical strip mall eatery, but inside they have gone for a tasteful, contemporary decor. It was still casual enough to wear jeans, but I have to admit I would have felt a bit out of place in shorts and a t-shirt. Service: Service was fine, but nothing stood out as really beyond normal. Food: The Arris gyro meat will definitely bring me back for other visits. It was wonderfully tender and full of flavor. I had the gyro platter, which came fries and a side Greek salad. I had expected a tiny little salad, but what they served was good sized and very fresh. For $10.50 it ended up being a fair amount of food. My only food complaint was that they had a beer shortage that night, and I was unable to really get what I wanted from their normal tap offerings. ----- I had been to the Arris locaton on High Street in Jeff City a few times in the 90s and really do not remember it being this nice. Not sure if my memory is faulty, or if Arris is getting nicer. Either way, I am glad that we have this option in Columbia now.

Newcastle brown ale on tap - 22 oz for $5.50. Appetizer of Pita triangles (2 kinds) with tzatziki sauce and terosalata (feta cheese dip spiced with pepper and olive oil). Had not had the terosalata before - it was good. Enjoyed the whole appetizer. Offered a similar appetizer with Hummus - for next time. Gyros and seasoned fries. Extra cost for fries (1.90) but 5.99 for a full size gyro is a good deal. Standard comes with chips. Wife had Greecian Pannini - chicken, bacon, pesto, tomatoes, cheese - she said was good. Have been here twice now and still haven't tried the pizza. They have a buffet Mon - Fri 11-2 with pizza, salad and pasta for $7-8. Sounds like a good deal I will have to try. Service was excellent. Waitress attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Food arrived timely and hot. Debated between a 3 or a 4 rating. For what they are trying to do and be, they are right on target. There was nothing not to like. Tried the lunch buffet, Good deal for the money. Decent enough salad bar plus pasta, soups, pizza. Pizza is typical Greek style pizza. Thin crust, lots of cheese. Sausage very garlicy. All in all nothing special but good enough.

Used to work here. They microwave their lasagna. It is frozen in a stoffers box. The pizza is okay but the local owner in columbia was a racist and a jerk. The food is okay but over priced. I would never suggest the columbia location.

Got 2 sausage pizzas, carry out. Pizzas always taste great.. They use "regular" pizza sauce, not the sugary stuff that a lot of the chains use. Quality is consistent, as usual. One glob of sausage per slice, as usual. Hostess was nice as can be, as usual. The pizza is consistent with all the other Greek-owned restaurants in town. Since we used to live in Jefferson City, we are a little more loyal to Arris than to G&D. Sidebar...my brother in law is in love with their hamburger pizza. The hamburger blankets the pizza and is covered with cheese.

Many will say that the best pizza in Columbia is Shakespeare's, while it is good I actually prefer Arris Pizza over Shakespeare's. This would actually be my third time eating at an Arris Pizza, mostly I tend to make a stop when visiting the Lake of the Ozarks, however when in the mood for a pizza on a recent trip to Columbia I wanted a change of pace and decided to skip Shakespeare's and head to get my fill of a Hercules Pizza. I arrived on a Sunday afternoon with two friends we ordered two pizzas and proceeded to share them. We ordered a Hercules, which is served with seasoned ground beef, Canadian bacon, pepperoni, Greek sausage and breakfast bacon and served sliced into squares. Now what makes this a great pizza is that Arris's makes sure to get a large piece of sausage on each slice. The crust is thin, yet not cracker thin like some places, overall the pizza is great and very tasty. I highly recommend passing on Shakespeare's at least once to make a stop and try some of the great pizza being served up at Arris Pizza!

Arris Pizza turned out to be a pretty great experience. The food, service, and place were very enjoyable. I tried everything from the cheese pizza to cheese sticks to a chicken panini. The pizza was decent. It was a little too soft and could have use a little bit of broiling on top for the cheese. However, the flavor of the pizza wasn't bad at all. The cheese sticks were average cheese sticks. I had a the Grecian panini which was just amazing. It had some sun dried tomatoes in it complimented by a creamy pesto sauce and filled to the maxed with slices of chicken. I also had sweet potato fries which were perfect. Our server was on point too. She took time out to have a conversation with us. She also came by frequently to give refills or ask if we needed anything. Arris itself was just nice for any occasion. They had a huge bar area if you wanted to go out with your friends. Or if you were out with your family, they had giant booths and plenty of space for larger parties. There was cool chalkboard art listing any special deals or alcohol prices.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
