I had a pita with the garlic hummus and a nonfat latte. Very good pita with cheese, hummus, lettuce, tomato and sprouts. It was originally supposed to come with mayonnaise which I thought seemed strange and I had it without. My latte was great- strong and very foamy.

A perfect lunch spot. Delicious sandwich and soup, and a refreshing contemporary small town vibe.

Processed soups and sandwiches. Not going to wow anyone. But reliable.

The acoustic café had a warm feeling to it all around. I was hoping to use the wifi and get a bit to eat and I was glad that this was the place I decided on. I got a combo hoagie and it was very tasty! The spread on it had a great flavor and it was warm (which I was not expecting but I enjoyed). I got the sandwich paired with a black bean soup and it also had a good flavor. The chai was not mind blowing or anything but good. The ambience here makes the difference between a three and four star review for me. I liked furniture, service, and vibe. Next time I drive through town I will absolutely stop by again.

I came in here for lunch today, and to use the Wifi. It's a great atmosphere. The food was tasty. i got a roast beef hoagie and chicken gumbo soup. It's a very relaxing atmosphere. I sometimes will have people meet me here to discuss business or other things. It's nice to get away from the office. The one negative is that sometimes the Wifi can go on and off without notice. Part of that is a function of how many people use Wifi at once. If there was a way to upgrade the Wifi to avoid this issue, it would be almost perfect.

Over the past couple years I've had a handful of clients in Winona. This is where I meet them. Very cute coffee/sandwich shop in DT Winona. Free wi-fi (not too many outlets since it's located in an old building). Lots of seating. The sandwiches are pretty good as are their soups. It's easy to spend the entire morning or afternoon working there. There are always fliers posted for events taking place there i.e. bands, art shows, etc. They also sell a few beers by the bottle (Rush River!) and if I'm not mistaken, wine.

Delicious sandwiches and great atmosphere. Go here to study or catch an acoustic performance from a local artist.

Hello Winona! Catherine here from Carlsbad Ca. I lived in Fountain City and hung out in Winona for about 2 years... The Acoustic Cafe was my home away from home... I love the manager Cathy and her staff. The music is great and the people friendly. A nice place to hang out ~ day or night. I am glad to be back in my little California (not Cali) Village of Carlsbad with 5 coffee house within walking distance..but none are the Acoustic! Cathy....you are the BEST! Catherine

Sandwiches were tasty. It's a local vocal place. Friendly service. Drove in on our road trip following the Mississippi River. It's a 10 minute detour off the main highway. But a good rest stop if you have the time.

We went in during Sunday lunch time. The food was good, fresh hoagies made with home made bread. This is a good place to grab something quickly in Winona. Decent food and good atmosphere.

Best place I've ever been to for hogies.

The Acoustic is a great place to go for a sandwich and coffee. They often have live music at nights and there is never a cover charge. During the day you will often see people studying for finals, as the atmosphere is usually laid back and not too noisy. The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you want something different than the cookie cutter sandwich shops you will find everywhere else.

Grew up in Winona, always loved hanging out at Acoustic for its chill atmosphere and great hoagies (and ice cream). Every time I return I'm not disappointed in how great it all is. Good for lunch, a cup of coffee, or a good spot to meet up with an old friend.

Excellent sandwiches! Every time I am in winona I come her for lunch. Order the hot ham hoagie! Coffee is ok. Wireless Internet is horrible. Staff member said they know and they don't try to fix it.

Spent two weeks in Winona for work and came here 3 times. Their sandwiches/soups are very good. Great atmosphere...especially to escape the freezing weather. I got the combo twice and the tuna once. All of them were delicious.

I met the owner of Acoustic Cafe at a seminar I was presenting at a few months ago and promised to try out the cafe next time I was in the area. Work brought me to Winona and I kept my promise. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere and the employees. I had the tuna pita pocket and even though it was a little messy to eat, it was a great combination of fresh ingredients and really delicious! I will certainly go back next time I am in Winona or Eau Claire and would recommend if you are looking for a quick bite or a place to hang out with friends!

This sandwich shop confuses me. The have my favorite homemade, sun dried tomato hummus on the planet. I love it so much, that I'll get it on their hard, chewy pita bread. The guacamole, mayo, provolone and sprouts somehow make it all better......umm...until you see them throw it in the microwave to warm it....who else thinks this is nuts?? They have live music on the weekends, which can be fun, along with a decent beer in this warm, fun ambiance. However, there's no wine, unless you're into boxed Franzia. I rate this 3 stars actually, considering it is a bearable option in comparison to most other sad options in my beautiful Mississippi River hometown of Winona. In all fairness, I should tell you that sub lovers go bonkers for their subs.

The corned beef hoagie is nearly a religious experience. For me anyway. Their bread is delicious, their new gluten free option is pricey but good. Not the best gf bread option in town, but good. The special sauce is good enough to drink. Their chili somehow delivers the goodness of homecooked, even though I know it's the same package mix others get and just can't seem to make as good. The decor is amazing, showcasing local artists. Really cements the Acoustic as a local must see, great music, great food, great ambiance.

Best subs anywhere. Nice booths. Quite place. Love their Italian sodas and French sodas. Lots of teas too. Nice place to to read while having a good soup or sandwich.

I've been here for lunch about 5 times. Hoagies are okay in terms of flavor. What gets me is the wait. Between 11-1pm expect to wait 15-20 mins for your food.

Had very good sandwiches and soup. The atmosphere is very nice and inviting. The only thing I'm bothered by is the food presentation is very poor and the tables are always very dirty. I often have to ask staff to wipe off tables whenever I'm there because none of them are waited. The staff always seems overworked and I often have my order messed up.

My visit was mid morning on a Monday, and the cafe was surprisingly quiet. The patrons were mostly older, some reading, one working a crossword puzzle, and few were gathered to chat, over mugs of coffee. I had a muffin and a latte, and both were delicious, and I really appreciated that the latte was served in a ceramic mug (when most places toss everything in a paper cup, regardless if one plans to stay awhile), and was so kindly brought to my table.

Winona only has a few really good places to eat and this one is close to the top of the list. LOVE IT!

Well, This place has to be one of my hometown favorites. The staff is warm and inviting and willing to help you. The Food is really good and healthy. My Suggestions that you should try is the Hoagies and The soups... and if you have any room left...try the aweome LARGE cookies. Many Moons Ago, when I first went to Acoustic, I tried their Chicken Gumbo. I posted the pic on here for you all to see how awesome it is. It was a cold winter day and this gumbo hit the spot!

My family loves Acoustic and brings anyone new to Winona here to try this little coffee and sandwich cafe. I've been here a few times with them and I brought my parents here when they came up for my wedding. For my birthday, Acoustic even gave me a free meal, so I'm gonna be really biased. Don't be turned off by the price of their whole sandwiches. On the chalkboard, the price of a whole sandwich is more than $10, but I don't think I've ever seen someone order one. Most people get the 1/3 or 1/2 with a soup and are more than filled up by the meal. Their whole sandwiches would probably be big enough for two people. My guess is that it would be worth the price too (not only for the size) because their ingredients are really fresh and high quality. I really like the shredded lettuce, when it is warmed up in their sandwich press, it just has an amazing taste. I've had a few things on the menu and I've enjoyed them all. My in-laws really like their Pitas, but my wife and I really prefer their Hoagies. My wife's sisters always get a special coffee that isn't on the menu when they come here. They've sworn me to secrecy, so I can only say that its way too sweet for me, but they go crazy for it. Fun little place and a must visit if you are in Winona. It is right next to their movie Theater, so it would be convenient to stop by for a snack/drink before or after a flick too. I've been told this place is popular for dates.

Absolutely fantastic hogies. I always rock the roast beef with a white hot chocolate. Great atmosphere but almost always super busy. Lots of kids studying, and lots of outlets. The only knock I have on the place is their old fashion coffee grinder which makes the place smell like burning coffee beans all day long. You'll need to wash your clothes to get the smell out if they are brewing when you're in there.

Went looking for a breakfast place and wound up here. The only "breakfast food" was a quiche which one of us tried reporting it as ok. The chocolate chip muffin, Blueberry muffin and chocolate chip ice cream were all pretty pedestrian. Ben S. may have the right idea, woof.

Some of the best hot sandwiches in town! My personal favorite in Winona. Great atmosphere, good coffee but a little pricey. The sandwiches and soups are amazing.

The portions are huge but the food is just ok. The half hoagie is really a full sandwich so be careful if you get the full one and that is more for two people to eat I think. They definitely don't skimp on the filling either which is great but the consistency is off which is a shame I think. I asked for extra banana peppers for the spice and thought mine was just ok on heat but someone else got the regular amount and they got a ton more than mine....Strange I think. While a local friend told us to not bother getting the house sauce, someone did get two containers and she said that they tasted different so that was a little strange too I think.... Skip the soup for sure though - nothing at all spectacular. From what I saw, it is just frozen bags that they reheat and poor into a warmer bin for serving. I had the beer cheese soup and it reminded me a little of nacho cheese sauce minus the heat.

Good hoagies & the special sauce is great! Service is a bit off--3 people behind the counter and they seemed to forget a lot of stuff. Forgot my daughters smoothie, forgot a napkin. Not a huge deal, but odd on an afternoon when they aren't that busy. PS the bathroom could use some more attention. P-U.

For a small town this was a great place. Plenty of tables each with an outlet. If you are going to get coffee and work done this is what I want. I didn't have food but the sandwiches for lunch liked great.

You can't beat the Acoustic Cafe. The ambiance is sweet and warm and relaxing, I've never had anything but prompt and friendly service, and I still fantasize about their warm turkey hoagies. Acoustic, please PLEASE open a satellite location in St. Paul. Please?
