Fantastic find!! This is a small little bakery that has breads, bagels and pastries (no doughnuts). It is not easy to find but worth the hunt! We had a scone, the pecan sticky roll and a danish. They were all delicious! It's attached to the Rochester Wholesale Fruit which is also an amazing find!! This is our first trip to Winona and we keep finding so many treasures!!

Brand new KFC. Went there with my wife before heading out on the river and had a delicious meal. Staff was friendly and building was so clean and new! Had the grilled chicken, not only tasted awesome, but it's actually really healthy!

I love this place, just wish it was open more often since I no longer live in Winona.
Had lunch and took a much needed break from exploring downtown Winona. I had the Cheese Done It Again. It is a mix of chesses, sprouts, a great dressing on rye. Enjoyed the bottomless cup of coffee as well. I had a seat by one of many windows. There was a steady lunch crowd and a varied choice of sandwiches and drinks and a few dessert items. Overall very happy with my dining experience.
I think the sandwiches are pretty good and they have gluten free bread which is great! The Gobble it up Turkey sandwich is really good. I think the staff could be a bit friendlier but other than that they are great!

Alexander Mansion Historic Bed and Breakfast

274 E Broadway St
Winona, 55987
Reviews:
This was my first time at a B&B. Richard, the innkeeper, was excellent. You can tell he cares very deeply about what he does and the beautiful mansion is a testament to that as well. The mansion itself was spectacular. Over 10,000 square feet of majestic rooms and living space. I was surprised by the warmth of the mansion. If you're looking for a great place to stay with very nice people, I would highly recommend the Alexander Mansion!
Beautifully restored mansion with a lot of history. The proprietor is extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast is excellent. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Highly recommended.
My husband and I recently stayed at the Alexander Mansion for an early anniversary trip. The house is very nice and has lots of neat sitting areas, especially the front porch. We stayed in Mary's room and it was very comfortable. The bed is a bit small, but nothing terrible. Richard is an excellent innkeeper. He is very friendly and always wants his guests to be happy. Breakfast was excellent both mornings we were there. He serves 5 courses. Each morning we started with a fruit parfait, then moved on to a sweet course of coffee cake or tea bread, followed by a salad with quiche or frittata and then an ice cream sundae for dessert. Richard is quite the historian and knows a lot of the history of the house, which is very neat. Unfortunately, we had to leave on the second day and only heard the first half of the history of the house. Winona is a great town on the river. There is a beautiful lake nearby where you can run, bike or kayak. Winona is also a short drive from a few other beautiful river towns like La Crosse, Wabasha and Lake City.

Ed’s No Name Bar

Great place for locals and visitors to Winona. Beer choices are legend. Great for after work casual get-togethers. Turns into a venue like no other with the variety of music offered several nights. Homey, casual, artsy, and friendly atmosphere. Got to go to Ed's when you are in Winona. I
Really awesome music venue/bar I got to play the other night! They have two good size rooms, one with booths and tables and great art on the walls, the other holds the bar and stage area for music! I dug that there was no Tv's here, perfect for hanging and talking with friends or going to a rock show! Sam the bartender was a gem and always provided drinks with a smile and had great knowledge of the tap brews both local and regional. Super sweet! Bathrooms was super nice for a rock club, the sound was good, the vibe was good, and the people were super kind! I would definitely hang out here if I lived in Winona, and am excited to go back and play and or just go have a drink when I'm in the area again!
Ed's is a kick-ass craft/micro-brew specializing bar which moonlights as a music venue. This bar is cozy but they recently expanded and opened up a mod lounge area where you can relax and hold a conversation without having to scream. They host the best of local and beyond musicians such as Charlie Parr and Moondawg. The walls are an art gallery of paintings by local artists. During the summer the rear patio opens up with a fire pit, some random tables and a big patch of motley grass. Enough space to have a beer, enjoy the brief Minnesota summer, and chat with an eclectic mix of patrons. This is hands down one of the best bars in Winona with excellent service, music and ambiance.

Excellent cafe! Great breakfast. I had the Chai oatmeal, and it was delicious! They have a big menu with food items, many healthy options, and they pastries look amazing. Attached to a bookstore so great place to get some studying done.
Awesome half-bookstore / half-cafe environment. I've only enjoyed dessert and coffee here as part of an evening poetry reading event that I attended recently, but I would definitely come back were I to be in the area again. Very friendly staff, nice selection of pastries, tea & coffee drinks, and bottled sodas, and a super-pleasant environment to spend some time in. A definite treasure in Winona!
Nice place! Excellent sandwiches and tasty soup. Very friendly staff, nice vibe. I had the Italian Lentil soup, which was very nicely done, and a simple turkey sandwich which was fresh and assembled with care (a surprising rarity in the world, which often features sandwiches randomly heaped in mindless disorder, making me sad). Atmosphere is bright and clean, unlike a nearby coffee shop which seems to have a really hard time keeping tables clean ;-) Location is in a very quiet part of town (in a town that is awfully quiet) but for a quick bite they can't be beat. I haven't had their coffee yet, but I'm hoping it's as good as everything else!

Panini's here are the best! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, beautiful/modern environment, locally owned. I missed this place immensely after the fire. So glad they are back- new & improved!
I hate to do this as I've had their skinny vanilla lattes in the past and they were good. But this past weekend I stopped there twice and both drinks were horrendous...I thought the first was just a fluke. The second time I got a white chocolate peppermint mocha and it was awful. I couldn't even have more than a couple sips. I went straight to Starbucks....sigh.... On a brighter note...their sweet treats looked delicious.
My son suggested we visit this coffee house for lunch. He said it was very good. I was not disappointed. The spinach and artichoke Panini was delicious. I know exactly where I'll be eating lunch the next time I visit Winona.

I had a pita with the garlic hummus and a nonfat latte. Very good pita with cheese, hummus, lettuce, tomato and sprouts. It was originally supposed to come with mayonnaise which I thought seemed strange and I had it without. My latte was great- strong and very foamy.
A perfect lunch spot. Delicious sandwich and soup, and a refreshing contemporary small town vibe.
Processed soups and sandwiches. Not going to wow anyone. But reliable.
