If you are looking for authentic Thai Asian food, this is NOT the place for you!!! Worst food ever and totally not worth the price! Before I start ranting, I am a traditional Asian person. I know how authentic Thai food is supposed to taste like and this is nothing compare to Thai food!! First impression was a failed. Things I ordered... Papaya salad (claims to be the most popular dish) - Too much carrot, very bland, small portion! "Special" chicken curry - DISGUSTING! It's a strong coconut based soup. Too much mushrooms. Not even that, there was HAIR in my food. Yes, hair! I told them to just cancel my order. Pad Thai (claims to be the most popular also) - NASTY AND SOGGY!!! Skinny rice noodle drenched in tamarind sauce does not sound authentic at all! Too sour and too much sauce for me! I paid "12.99" for the dish and took two bites. Didn't even bother to pack it. The only "okay" dish was their chicken laaab. But portion was very little. Pros - Fast service. Nice waiter. Professional environment. Cons- Small portions. Appetizers are expensive. Not authentic.

Our pad Thai was meh, noodles were clumped together. Our spring rolls we ordered tasted day old, my entree was requested extra spicy and came with little to no spice. I was excited to see this place open but will still make the drive to St Paul for other much more flavorful Thai food.

Took the girlfriend there for an early dinner. Had the yellow curry chicken. Was not disappointed. Service was fast, clean and professional.

I got Thai Basil the other day and carried out. At first I was a little surprised that my Chicken Pad Thai came to $14.00 but after seeing how much food I got I was not upset. The food was delicious and the portions are huge. I can't wait to taste the rest of the menu!

I was really excited when I saw a new Thai restaurant open close to work. The same old places get old after awhile. The interior of the restaurant is very nicely decorated and screams Thai influence. The lunch menu didn't seem very inclusive of some standard Thai dishes. For example, they had Thom Yum soup, but not Tom Kha Kai soup....they had red and green curry, but no yellow curry. Also I asked for a side of peanut sauce, and they waitress had no idea what I was talking about. I have been to dozens of Thai restaurants, and everyone of them knew exactly what I was talking about when I ordered peanut sauce. There were five of us at the table and our waitress took out order quickly. The appetizer arrived very quickly. We ordered salad rolls as an appetizer, and they were fantastic! They came with a vinegar based sauce with course ground peanuts that was very good. Unfortunately our entree orders took a long time to arrive for Thai food (about 35 minutes). The waitress stated that there was some sort of computer issues with the ticketing and order system. This restaurant has only been open for a week and a half so I won't be too critical of food delivery time, as I know new restaurants can take time to work out he kinks in the machine so to speak. I ordered chicken Pad Thai for an entree. When it arrived it was hot, and the spice and flavor were fantastic. Unfortunately the noodles were undercooked and portions were clumped together, likely due to not being properly tended to during cooking. Another big issue is they did not use Pad Thai noodles at all, but some sort of generic round rice noodle. Pad Thai noodles are supposed to be thin and FLAT, not round. Our waitress was nice and friendly and had a fantastic smile. Unfortunately the waitress never returned to the table to refill our water or ask if we wanted additional drinks. When you are eating spicy food this is a big issue. All in all, not a terrible experience, but not a good one either. I would be willing to give it another try in six months, however, if they are still using round rice noodles instead of flat Pad Thai noodles, don't have peanut sauce, and still haven't worked out the kinks, it will be the last visit and recommendation. This place has lots of potential! I hope they get it together!

When I saw that a Thai restaurant was opening in Stillwater I was super excited and drove by frequently to see if it was open yet. The first time trying the food my husband and I ordered take-out and just got the standard red curry and green curry. We were somewhat disappointed with that since there was literally like 2 pieces of veggies in it which seemed pointless, why have veggies at all then, but the flavor of the curries was very good. My second experience was much better. I went with a couple friends and we ordered spring rolls and cream puffs. The cream puffs were very good with a delicious dipping sauce. The spring rolls left something to be desired...they were pretty skimpy and the sauce was more vinegary than anything else. For the entrees we ordered Pra Ram Rong Song, Panang Beef, and Peanut Chicken. The Pra Ram Rong Song was my favorite with a good helping of veggies and plenty of flavorful sauce. The Panang Beef was also very good and the sauce had a good punch. The Peanut Chicken was my least favorite with more of a liquidy sauce and it was the least flavorful of the 3 dishes and also the smallest portion wise. All in all a very nice time. Our server seemed very knowledgeable and had transferred from Pad Thai on Grand since they have the same owners and some of the dishes from there transferred as well. After that visit my husband and I tried take-out once again with much better results and we ordered the Pra Ram Rong Song after loving it the last time I went and it was just as good and we also tried the Pad Ped Curry which was very nice and had a good depth of flavor. We will definitely be back to keep trying more dishes and enjoying our favorites so far. This is a great addition to Stillwater!!

Overall good Thai food. Pad Si Yew was a light noodle dish. Good flavor. Service was superior to other Thai places I have gone in the past year or so. Would definitely go back.

The place has only been open for two weeks and was jam packed this evening when we arrived for dinner. The menu is not huge but has a nice selection. I love green curry and love eggplant but nothing on the menu contained both of these. The server had to run to the kitchen to ask if they could do this combo for me. They did with a $2.50 upcharge to add eggplant to the other veggies in my green chicken curry. My husband ordered tofu pad thai. The food was a little slow to come out but our server was really nice and kept us informed. A guy who seemed to be a manager came out with complimentary veggie spring rolls because of the delay. They were basically salad in a rice paper wrapper, and the dipping sauce tasted like Italian dressing. Refreshing but pretty vinegary. When the entrees arrived (and it didn't really take that long) the portions were large. We got really full. We ordered the green curry medium since this was our first time here, but it was barely spicy. I think they are accommodating the Nordic palates of this town; if you want it spicy ask for it hot. The eggplant was killer, BTW! Worth every penny. Pad thai was very tasty, too, and also not all that spicy. I'm pretty excited to have a good Asian restaurant option in Stillwater and will definitely be back to sample more menu items. The decor is simple but it feels nice, and some rearranging has transformed the barnlike space of a repurposed Hardees into inviting eating and bar areas. Prices are higher than the Thai places on University Avenue but the food and pleasant dining experience--and not having to drive--make it worth the cost.

I would definitely go back! Went there on a Wednesday. It was fairly busy. Lots of parking, though. The waitress was fast and efficient. Not very tentative but still great service. Not a very extensive beer selection but that's ok. Their cocktails sound good. May try one of those next time. I ordered the Thai Steamed Scallions. Best Peanut Curry I've ever had. We ordered the cream cheese wontons for an appetizer. The cream cheese is sweet and you can tell the sweet and sour sauce is made in-house. Everything taste fresh. We also ordered noodles with yellow curry. Also very delicious! They have generous sized portions so be prepared to share or have some left-overs to take home. Can't wait to go back and try more!

4.5 stars Ordered creme cheese wantons, vegi curry puffs, and prad ram rong song main dish with Sierra Nevada on tap. Everything clearly hand made from scratch and NOT off the back of the cicso or Asian frozen food delivery truck. They grow their own spices and herbs(within reason) out back in their private garden and you can taste it. Spice levels are legit, I've been to Asia three times over the last 5 years and I like hot food and "VERY HOT" was right about where I like my Thai/India food. I sat at the bar(nice bar too) and Eddie was on duty, great bartender super friendly and knowledgeable with the menu and cocktails. I am so coming back to try other dishes at least once per week.

I've been waiting for a Thai place to open in Stillwater and was very excited when this one opened. I decided to get a very basic meal for my first trip, standard that fried rice with chicken. It was just okay. The rice was too mushy. The flavors were bland. Not worth the almost $15 after tax I paid, and that's all I ordered. If they can't get a basic Thai restaurant staple correct I'm worried about trying other thing. I will likely try this place again, buy only if they have a really inexpensive lunch menu. Not with full price at all.

Awful, terrible service, and the food was even worse. From when we walked in the door we were there 2.5 hours, and had empty water glasses the ENTIRE time, despite asking for water refills. The food was sub par, definitely not authentic. I guess we will have to continue to drive to St Paul for good thai food :(

Stopped in for a late lunch, and the place was packed with happy customers. My friend had the Chicken Peanut Stir Fry and I had the Chicken Pad Thai with an order of Cream Cheese Puffs. The food was hot and tasty, the service was excellent. A welcome addition to Stillwater. I look forward to digging deeper into their menu.

The flavors were amazing and the service was good but our food came out barely room temp and the veggies were still pretty raw. They were busy so I imagine the cooks were in a mad rush but it would've been worth the wait had the food been hot and properly prepared. I'd give it another chance but on a weekday instead.

Great food and reasonable prices, two trips so far and happy with everything. Gluten free choices are nice as well

I've ordered takeout two separate times now and ordered very hot and then super hot. On both occasions there was absolutely NO spices on my pad Thai and then the pad mee karee Kai. The pad Thai also used the wrong noodles and one piece of beef. The pad karee didnt even have any beef. I don't know what is going on but they aren't going to survive if they keep this up!!! I'm going to give them one more opportunity to get it right and then I'm done!! I would love to see them survive as I love Thai food. Also they don't seem to know what a fifty dollar bill is.

Did take-out last night. Rice was WAY over cooked. Pad Thai was good, nothing fantastic, but we'd give it another try. Fresh spring rolls were very good and fresh, the dipping sauce was odd... it had too much of something-- fish sauce? vinegar? I'm not sure-- it wasn't gross, just not the typical balance of sweet, salty and sour that you expect from Thai food. I can't remember the name of it, but we also ordered the peanut curry dish with coconut, spinach, broccoli, carrots and chicken. It's my favorite Thai dish, and this was a decent version of it. The veggies were so fresh and lovely. The chicken was cooked absolutely perfect. The sauce just needed a bit more flavor. All in all, is it the best Thai you'll ever eat? No. Drive to On's in St Paul for that. But, as far as take out options in Stillwater go, this is a lovely option to get some decent food with real, fresh, veggies.

I LOVE this place. Service is great and the food is exceptional. We came in with a group of 10 people and were very pleased with service and food selections. I would recommend seafood salad, Penang curry and Thai lemongrass chicken. Great atmosphere, we will be back soon!

We had small low key wedding reception at Thai Basil. Throughout the process, our experience was excellent and the staff, particularly Gino and the owners, were extremely accommodating. We were able to use a semi-private room, which made our event extra special. The food was amazing, brought out piping hot, and all our guests commented on how fresh it tasted. It seems like this restaurant had a slightly rough start when they first opened, but now they are well staffed and serve the best Thai food in the area. Check it out - you won't be disappointed!

Great food, reasonable prices, lovely service. I've had the pad Thai, peanut stir fry, and vegetarian egg rolls and they're all great. The vegetarian eggs rolls are my absolute favorite! The lunch specials are huge and very reasonably priced. They are so vegetarian-friendly and they have gluten free items labeled on their menu. This place is a winner all around!
