Seriously the best chinese food I've had in years. The take out service is 5 star! Ordered many times and never had issue with order being messed up. We live in St. Paul and it always stays hot entire way home (20+ min). Great staff, always friendly. Looks like a nice restaurant to eat in too...will try when I have more time in the area, but I usually have to take it home. They always have a lot of take out business waiting when I go in. They are also accurate in telling me when order will be ready. Never disappointed. Cashew chicken, chicken fried rice, regular chow mein and cream puffs are awesome. Huge menu to pick from. I question the comment about the servings being small, the servings are always BIG. I have leftovers for another full meal the next day. Also someone complained about coming in to order while others walked in and were served before them. If you come in and order, you should have to wait behind people who called in before you walked in. It's first order, first served (regardless of calling in or sitting there), should I wait behind someone who ordered in person 15 min after I called? No. Take a menu and call in next time. Or look up menu on phone. I've never been kept waiting.

Love Golden Crown! My favorite Chinese takeout and the best beef broccoli. I go there at least once a week. They have great lunch specials for a good value too. Definitely a place I'd recommend for some Chinese food.

Do not eat here. We are from out of state. Ordered some combination meals. Fried rice was the most edible item on the plate and it was overcooked. Sweet & sour portion was small. The other entrees looked and tasted like they came out of a can. I question who writes their positive reviews.

I love Golden Crown and it's the best Chinese food in the area. PRO: Our orders are consistently good. The Mongolian beef, beef and broccoli, fried rice, and cream cheese wontons are all fantastic and are regular orders for us. PRO: The restaurant is clean and comfortable, with plenty of parking. CON: My only complaint is the take out service. We probably order take out twice a month from here and, unfortunately, have something to gripe about almost every visit. The owner and female employees have always been great, but there is a young, male employee working the front desk who can be difficult (and this is based on multiple interactions, not an isolated incident). He clearly gets flustered when the restaurant is busy, and can be rude, in turn. I understand being under pressure, but customer service is your job. TIP: If ordering takeout, be sure you are physically waiting in the restaurant. If you leave, even for a moment, your order will get bumped. I don't quite understand the ordering procedure there but it's NOT first come, first served. I've placed small orders only to have multiple walk-ins order after me but get their food first. TIP: I order Mongolian beef with NO vegetables. This way you get a hearty serving of beef. If you order with vegetables, you'll get 80% vegetables. Order from any female employee and you won't get charged extra for "no vegetables." Order from the aforementioned male employee and he'll charge you $2 extra for the no vegetable request.

This is a regular place for us to order take out or some times dine in. Food can be hit and miss but if you order the right item it is pretty good and satisfying. My exp has taught me to stick with tried and tested items like, lo mein or choemein, fav is fried rice extra hot. Best thing going for them is the new location, and also that food seem to be prepared from scratch everytime. Keep up the good work guys.

My husband stopped by this place on our way home. Located right off Hwy 36 it is pretty easy to get to and the parking lot was big. Tables and booths were available and they had several TVs around the restaurant to watch. I ordered the beef and broccoli and hubby ordered the orange chicken (i think?), anyways we both liked what we ordered. We also had to try the double cream cheese wontons and fried rice. I especially liked that my dish had the right combo of broccoli and beef. At other places I have been to there is more veggies than meat sometimes. All in all we had a good experience and would stop in again if we are in the area and hungry!

I have always been the worlds pickiest eater. Golden Crown is one of the only Chinese food places I have ever been able to find a few different things to eat on the menu. Now you can take the word of the gentleman who looks like he's wanted to be an asian man his whole life, or from the pickiest eater in the world. Even from the cute asian girl that probably has a fair idea what good Chinese food takes like. Now that they're over in the new building, they've got beer and wine. Now I may have to find my way over there today because I am craving some Chicken fried rice, Lemon chicken, and won-tons

The best Chinese around. Has been here since I was a child. (I am 24 now.) Good, high quality, and cheap! Try the double cream cheese wontons, house fried rice (add tofu), and their Roast Pork. The very best! Service is actually pretty good here considering Asian owned, and workers are Asian. You can get a huge meal for only $25! They even have a kids menu! And offer a tad bit of American food for the non-Asian lovers.

We gave this place several chances, because on occasion we found this-or-that item to be pretty good; BUT, on the whole, they're lame because they over-salt the ever-loving crap out of almost every dish they make. Even as I type this I am eating leftover Cantonese Special Chow Mein because I need to eat something before I go to bed and I am really hungry, and it's very frustrating because I can barely detect any flavor beyond the salt (it wasn't any better the first time, either). I know the flavor is there, but it's almost completely overwhelmed by the salt. Don't bother with their appetizers either, though if you *must* have an appetizer, the plain chicken wings are reasonably decent (but way overpriced). I'm giving this place two stars because it's not quite awful enough to get one star. It's damn close though, so don't say I didn't warn you. P.S.: Hey Golden Crown: cut the fuck back on the salt/soy sauce/etc. and then maybe people can enjoy some flavors. P.P.S.: I reckon DeAnna J. has only ever been around Stillwater, because there is definitely better Chinese within as little as 5 miles of 55082, there just *has* to be. P.P.P.S. I do not live in Stillwater. My best friend does, and several times when I came to visit, we tried this restaurant.

Food is just OK. Biggest gripe is it is sometimes very hard to order over the phone, a few times no one would answer even when I know they are open. Wish Stone Lake was still there.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
