I was in Rochester recently for a job interview and I wanted to eat at some local non-chain restaurants. Upon arriving at my hotel room, I used Yelp to find some restaurants that looked attractive to me. Saints on the 2nd looked good, so I decided to give it a try. I was a bit confused when I first walked in because I saw a bar and also a place selling coffee. I wondered if I was in the right place. Then I made my way past the bar and saw the dining area of the restaurant. It was not very busy and one of the 2 waiters quickly came up to me and led me to a table. He actually asked me where I would like to sit and I chose one of the tall tables with the tall chairs. I was very pleased that this restaurant offers an option to add a fresh side salad to any dinner entree for $1.99. I was really craving vegetables and 2 bucks is a good deal for a salad; therefore, I started out my meal with a salad. It was made with fresh vegetables and topped with croutons. I chose the southwest vinaigrette that they make in-house and it was so good that I ended up consuming every drop of the generous serving of this salad dressing. I wish I could order a bottle of this dressing and have it shipped to me in Denver. I very rarely like restaurant salad dressing this much, so this says a lot. I ordered Garlic Shrimp Fettuccine as my entree. I had a long stressful day and not enough sleep before arriving at the restaurant, so by the time the dinner entree arrived, I thought that it was supposed to be topped with Fettuccine Alfredo sauce. I questioned my waiter, Charlie, about the sauce and he said that he thought that I wanted Garlic Shrimp Fettuccine and that it comes with garlic butter sauce instead of the Fettuccine Alfredo sauce. He was 100% right regarding both things. Charlie said that if I don't like my entree, then he can take it back to the kitchen to have it re-made. I said that it's okay and that I was just confused. He made multiple offers to take the entree back and said that he really wants me to enjoy my meal, so if there is something I am not happy with, he wants to change it. I told him that I was enjoying my meal and I didn't want to send the entree back. He stopped by again a bit later to check in with me to make sure that I was still doing okay. I gave this restaurant 5 stars because I enjoyed the food and the service. Charlie was great. He worked very hard to make me happy and seemed very sincere in his efforts. Both, the quality and the quantity of the food was good. I was full, but not stuffed at the end of my meal. The service was also timely. If I ever go back to Rochester, I would likely go back to this restaurant and try something else on their menu. Specifically, I have my eye on Canadian Walleye Pike. I was torn between this dish and the one I ended up ordering. Both sounded really good to me.

Nothing really special about this place. Everything from the wait staff to the food and drink was fine, but nothing overly memorable. Their real draw is that they happen to be across the street from St. Mary's Hospital, so you don't have to go very far if you happen to be there. My wife and I tried their Potato Nachos appetizer, and we weren't impressed. It tasted pretty bland, and some of the potatoes were cooked too long, so they were a little hard. We both had their Blackened Sandwiches; hers was chicken, while mine was steak. The flavors were really good, and despite the fact that my steak was a little tough, I still enjoyed it. Overall, there are better choices in Rochester, so we probably won't be back, but if you're in the neighborhood it might be worth your time.

We were staying at the hotel and decided to get room service. We ordered the sticky chicken sandwich and the artichoke burger. The service was prompt and helpful, the chicken was moist and tender and the burger was a perfect medium rare. We were very pleased and satisfied.

Went there because I was staying at the courtyard above it for work. Had a delicious steak sandwich Reasonably priced and great portion sizes. Would definitely come back.

Service was super slow. The waitress made a big deal about a smelly blender in front of us that has blended fish soup in it. My husband ordered a ribeye and received a piece a meat that was not a ribeye and was Not edible. The shrimp was decent. Fried food is decent. We are at st Mary's right across the street and won't even go there.

Pretty Good Food and Great Service!!!! So I have been staying at the hotel that this little bar/restaurant is located in (Courtyard Marriott) and I must say its a nice surprise to not have to leave the hotel all the time to get some good food. I have had quite a few things on the menu so hopefully I can be of some help. Wings (hot) were pretty stellar only complaint is that they were a little salty. I also had the Steak Sandwich which was damn good (just a tad over cooked so maybe ask for it rare since I asked for it med rare and it came out med well haha). There was also this thing that was like a hamburger cheese contraption over potato skins (think it was called BBQ Potato Skins), stay the hell away from those things I think they were just trying to do too much when it came to that dish. Tried the burger (think it was the Second St. Burger) and it was delish. Also, had the steak tacos and those were pretty good as well. As far as desert goes, man...whoa had the caramel apple pie a la mode and that was amazing so do try that. Wait staff is pretty cool there is a guy there named Ben that takes care of business so props to him and a chick named Ellen at the bar that holds it down quite well too so props to her. One plus they do have a Starbucks machine at the bar and since I was visiting when it was cold it was nice to get a hot choc with whiskey which was made perfect by the chick above. Last thing, prices are pretty reasonable and they do offer a happy hour (from 5-7 daily I think) that gives you some food items for 5 bucks and a few draft beers on tap for two bucks. Stronger drinks during that time like Martini's I think are five bucks. Overall, recommendations all around. Check it out... good food, good peeps, great service!!! Cheers!!!

Reasonably priced and delicious. Recommend the blackened steak sandwich. Save room for dessert.

My wife and I were completely satisfied with the reasonably priced food, service and all things related to this comfy & relaxing restaurant & bar. I'm a firm believer that good leadership is contagious, & after meeting Mardee, the manager, I understand why the consistency and service is a success. Mardee is also a sweet, and lovely woman. She is extremely consciousness, and empathetic to patients and caregivers visiting with serious medical challenges. I agree with others, chix fingers, steak sandwiches, chop chix salad...were tasty. Very speedy room service.

There are very few healthy choices when staying along this road when at hospital. This place has healthy choices along with many other options. My husband had blacken salmon which he liked and was cooked well. I had the special shrimp tacos special which was really good. The prices are good and even have happy hour for those looking for it. Restaurant is quiet

this is a great little hideaway to go enjoy lunch, dinner, drinks with a friend you can carry on a conversation in a comfortable environment. some of the food is to be based on the old aviary restaurant and that is why i continue to go there....I was a huge fan of the chicken strips but they have changed them and they are now chicken chunks and a little two crispy compared to how wonderful they were in the past the steak sandwich is still just as good. and i really enjoy the atmosphere here if you live in the area this is a wonderful little spot to get away and get your drink on....or relax and have tea....fabulous!
