I went here today with my Mom on a whim. We love trying new places to eat while visiting Rochester and have definitely found someplace we will go back to! I had a tuna Sambusa and a chicken shawarma pita and my Mom ordered the chicken shawarma with rice. Everything was delicious! The food had excellent flavor and it is a super value too. The family who own this place are so friendly and genuinely love what they are doing. I can't wait to go back.
Aboba truly is a hidden gem. It is in between the Middle Eastern place and the bike shop. I ordered the sambusa, falafel pita and chicken shawarma with rice. The woman working there was so kind and friendly, and when she rang us up with out adding the chicken, she gave it to us anyway (in return, I promised I will be back, which I plan to uphold, especially after eating my delicious meal!) The sambusa is delectable! It is so flavorful and comes with a unique dipping sauce. The falafel was perfect, and it the balls were cut, which allowed me to scarf it down with out fussing. The chicken had such great flavors, and the sauces for both the chicken and falafel were also a nice touch. The rice with the chicken had a bay leaf, in my book that's a sign that a restaurant truly cares about the food they are serving.
The atmosphere is still under development, but the FOOD--WOW!! the owners obviously put their hearts and souls into creating an awesome dining experience for their guests. And the hot tea was incredible. Our party tried a little bit of just about everything on the menu, and every dish was outstanding. The sambusas are ridiculously good, and the kofte was some of the best I've ever had. We kind of wished we lived in Rochester so we could be regulars here. The consolation is they're thinking of eventually expanding to the Twin Cities. We'll be first in line!

I've been here a couple of times now and it's still the best subway I've been too. The only problem that I can see is that the food line is reversed. It should start on the left to right.

I've been using Waiter Express for about 4 years now and have been very pleased with their service! The entire staff is friendly and their drivers strive to deliver the food as quickly as possible. They have a good selection of restaurants to choose from. The service is a great way to get great food delivered quickly.

The only place I would go for fruit smoothies and health drinks in Rochester service is good and staff acknowledges food allergies!
Best smoothies around... actually that I've ever had. 100% real ingredients, you wont find a better smoothie around. The staff is also very very nice and helpful.
Awesome fruit smoothies, you can add whatever you want to them, calcium, gingko, ginseng, with a list that explains the health benefits to each supplement available. Cheaper than the ones at starbucks. Cozy little place, fireplace and they do punch cards too.

Two words: Freaky Fast. Great stop when I am in a hurry although my sandwich isn't very fancy. But still tastes good and up to par for Jimmy John's :)
Such good reviews I had to try it.. We were from out of town staying nearby in a hotel. We called in our order and waited, waited and waited.. 1 1/2 hours later I called to find out what was going on. I was informed that our order had been delivered and they had our signature. I think they thought we were trying to scam them. They got the delivery driver on the phone and he states our children came to the lobby and led him to our room.. That's funny. We weren't traveling with our children. Zero kids in our room unless you count us being childlike at times. The lady on the phone (begrudgingly) states they'll make more and send it over as soon as they can. So I am a little angry and I go downstairs to our front desk clerk and ask her to call because she didn't see them come in either. - In a rush to correct their error they delivered it in less than 15 minutes. The driver apologized and stated that the food was delivered to the wrong hotel. Some kids there cabbaged on the error and stole the food and signed our name. They gave us our meal and free cookies we didn't order. The food was amazing but I was also starving by that time. We called a second time since the food was so good the first time and they were at the hotel so fast that I didn't think it could be the food at the door. So, in spite of their mistake I will give them 4 stars for being great to correct the error and the food being so good both times.. Thanks!
LOVE LOVE LOVE me some JJ's! Wait did I say I love it:) I love the Beach with Chips but it doesn't matter what you get, it's all good in the hood. I also love the signs! I could live on this, Sushi and Chipotle. What is your favorite thing to eat here?

Wow! Mn wild rice soup is one of the best I have ever had . It being my favorite soup I've had a lot. The soup is worth the wait.
This was a highlight of my day at Mayo Clinic. Lobster bisque...excellent choice on this first Friday of Lent, 2015. Thank you for providing a wonderful meal,,,,no sacrifice here! The bread is excellent. I will be back! Thank you for your good work
Fast, friendly & delicious! This place is WONDERFUL...BEST SOUP AROUND! They also have Gluten Free soups as an option, which is something hard to find. The owner goes above and beyond to accomodate, and the atmosphere is friendly and appropriately busy. You MUST try the Tomato Basil, Butternut Squash and Country Vegetable soups...(Better than many 4 star places.) Can't say enough good things about this place. Yum! Reasonable prices, tasty, fresh. Will keep coming back.
Good sushi! Fresh and tasty. Interesting rolls. Good service. Prices were OK...I was expecting more of a bargain considering it's in Minnesota but the prices were comporable to Milwaukee.
This is the best sushi in town! My favorite is the Rochester roll and smoked salmon.

2nd visit and no disappointments. I am in Rochester on business and think that I shall come every night this week and eat through the menu.
This place has sentimental value for me. He took me here on our first date, and we've come here every year to re-celebrate (even the year they went through their identity crisis and switched to Pazzo for a minute). The food has always been delicious! The bread you get before the meal is awesome! I've tried quite a few of their dishes, and have really liked everything I've tried. I do wish they'd add a few changing seasonal dishes, as the menu is small and never seems to change. We'd probably come more often if they did. My favorite entree so far has been the ahi tuna. I love the relish that comes with it! The appetizers we've tried have also been good. The Risotto Fritters are really good, but the crab dip has probably won me over as far as favorites go! So much crab, and so tasty! And pairs really well with the bread that comes with it! Another plus is they have live music. It's always been decent to really good, and adds to the date-night atmosphere. See you next year Redwood Room! Thanks for the many years of wonderful memories!
I really don't understand all of the lower reviews for this place. In the decade I've been coming to the Redwood Room, I've never once had a bad meal or a bad service experience. I've been to restaurants in most of the major cities in the United States and get to eat delicious cuisine once or twice a week in Minneapolis, where there's a 4 or 5 star restaurant on every corner, and Redwood Room compares favorably to the best I've been to, both in atmosphere and food quality. I've lost count of how many times I've had the apple cider pork. It's one of my top 5 dishes I've had anywhere, in any restaurant. The combination of the always tender pork, the perfect garlic mashed potatoes, the chunks of bacon, and the just-right sweetness of the apple cider reduction is out of this world. The texture is perfect. The flavor profile is perfect. The dish is perfect. It's not presented in a fancy manner, but who cares when the food is this good? Because I normally get the above mentioned dish when I visit, I've only tasted bites of the other food from whoever I've gone with. With that said, I've been impressed with every dish I've tried, which has to be close to the entire menu at this point. All of the pasta dishes are fantastic and unique (the sauce on the basillini is divine), the meat dishes, including duck, flank steak, various chicken plates, and every kind of fish under the sea, have always been cooked to perfection and seasoned well (the arugula salsa on the flank steak is a welcomed kick in the winter time), and the Neapolitan pizzas are some of the best I've had of the style (pesto chicken, for the win). I don't know what kind of crack they put in their warm bread/olive oil/Parmesan cheese, but that stuff is addicting. I would seriously pay for this bread. I dare you to find many restaurants where you would say that. The apps are great, too. Risotto fritters, gumbo fritters, and crab dip are all superbly executed and just the right amount of food for a pre-meal warmup. On top of that, they also have a great bar menu with some good beers on tap and in bottles, as well as a super wine menu. The in-house music has generally been fitting and not too loud...a nice addition to any romantic dinner outing, which is also enhanced by the perfect lighting. And for the reviews saying they need to change their menu more often, they DO have rotating specials. Why change the majority of the menu that works and is executed well, especially when everybody was clamoring for this specific menu to come back when this was Pazzo for a bit?Seriously, this restaurant has it all. The Redwood Room is a Rochester staple and can compete with any restaurant I've had throughout the country. Restaurants like this, Pescara, and ZZest are badly needed in the Rochester community, and I hope Redwood Room is around for the decades to come.
