Ok food and terrible service... Not sure why people wait an hour to sit down in here. The fact that a chain like this doesn't take reservations just doesn't make sense to me...but I guess they don't have to if people still clog up the entrance standing there waiting for a table with ok food and terrible service...

A loud, noisy Outback. Just what we needed for a long day's haul and a quick pop in here for a steak and potatoes. Standard menu, and layout. Little beeping machines help let you know when your table is ready - only a range out to the picket fence around the patio of the restaurant, though, so not entirely handy. That being said, don't order the steak medium - it comes out medium well. Medium rare, on the other hand, did just fine. I like the fact they don't add salt to their veggies. But they added waaaay too much salt to the sauteed mushrooms and to the outside of the potatoes (love skins but not that salty). The Blossoming Onion - not bad, would be better served less crisp (the onion was a bit dry) and with ranch instead of the spicy ranch sauce. Desserts did look good, for the most part, but too full. The hot bread initially is nice.

Not so good steaks, expensive drinks. Texas Roadhouse will kick these guys' butt. I'd go to TRH or Michaels!

Just like any other Outback, the selections are all the same. If you're not into steak, there are other options as well. Back to the steaks here, they are very consistent in seasoning and cooking style (expected from a chain). Our waitress was nice and attentive, and the beers were always frosty.

This place has been inexplicably crowded every time I have gone there, even in the middle of the week. It is very noisy. The service is marginal (the beer I ordered when I sat down didn't arrive until after the appetizer came, and even then I had to remind the waitress). The waitress brought one small loaf of bread for 4 adults and one child. Our Blooming Onion was overcooked and nearly burned. The beer selection is weak. The food is good or better -- prime rib I had was good, the garlic mashed potatoes were okay, and the blue cheese wedge salad was excellent. You pay for it, though. Our meal totaled $159. Timberlodge was much better, but sadly has closed down, leaving only Outback if you want a "family style" steakhouse in Rochester. For my money, go to Hubbell House in Mantorville instead.

This is the first time I had ever been to this restaurant and I had a perfect experience! Our order includes drinks, an appetizer and a meal. All was perfect and served in a quick, timely manner. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and made helpful suggestions to us. It was a busy restaurant, and a smaller place at that. This location might night be the best for larger parties, but dinner for 2, it's perfect! I would recommend to anyone!

We love Outback Steakhouse Restaurants and this place was crowded! The food was delicious and the service was great. The staff were very friendly and the food is very similar to what we get in California's Outback.

Husband had the prime rib - not the best but not the worse either. I did not like the au jus sauce as it tasted like it had artificial smoke in it and I do not like that but the steak was tender and done well. Bread that they served was awesome had 2 mini loaves of that and they did not charge us for the second loaf. Salad had some spicy tomato vinaigrette on it and it was very good. I had the chicken fried steak. First of all the steak came out on top of my potaoes and there was this big bare spot on my plate. Well the steak was WAY over cooked. I went to cut it and the breading flew across the table. Since it was over done - so was the steak. I do not like dry meat and this was too dry. Gravy was great but not enough as like I said the steak was on top of the potatoes , anyways the potatoes were very good. The green beans could have been steamed another minute, I thought they were just a little underdone and not much flavor. On the whole the service was great. We had a new person and she did not know the menu very well, but she had a shadow that would help her with our questions. They served the meal in a timely manor. Would probably go back but would not get that chicken fried steak again that is for sure. Music was a touch on the loud side for dining, or maybe it was just the type of music.

    Chain steakhouse. Overpriced, overspiced, overcooked.

Service was the best part of our experience which is why I gave two stars. Unfortunately our experience was lack luster from the moment of entry. Waited about 4 minutes for a greeter to even appear. Seating was fine and we were promptly welcomed by the waitress but from there everything else was pretty subpar or completely under whelming. If your hungry, this is not the place to visit. Ordered a nice quesadilla and a healthy $10 priced burger. Turns out they don't have jalapeños for the quesadillas and I could live without them but delivery of my husbands sandwich was laughable. The overpriced bite while again tasty did not meet any expectations and didn't even come with fries... Poopoo... Too many other adequate places too choose next time over this one.

It's official, outback has the worst steaks ever!!!!! You want a good ribeye or porterhouse, NY strip.... Do yourself a favor go to fairway( preferably stewartville fairway, but if you can't the Rochester fairway will do. Stew. Seems to have better meat) save tons of money and grill it yourself. If you've had a good steak from outback you either were really lucky or you like many don't know what a good steak is. They must hand pick the oldest sickest cow they can find because every steak I've tried is the same. Every fiber of their steaks is tied together by strands of pain in the rear cartilage, younger cows don't get that. Anyway I'm sick of crappy chain restaurants with big name and the worst food. Good job Rochester!! Doesn't anybody out there know how to cook and have the guts to open a decent place to eat!!! I'm tired of writing so till I bash another crappy restaurant TTFN.

Was seated relatively fast. There were quite a few empty tables. Not very busy at all. Waited for 20 minutes without service so we left. If I could 0/5 I would.

Service was very poor and we waited a long time to receive our food even though the place was more than half empty. They screwed up our burger order, and by the time the replacement food came, the rest of us were pretty much done with our food. The manager apologized and then moved on to the next table to smooth things over with them too since they were unhappy also. Needless to say, this location needs some major help in a serious way.

I'd give it a 5 for food taste, but a 2 or 3 for service. Our waitress was pretty bad. Super-forgetful and just didn't have the waitress attitude - you could just tell that she could be a real beyotch if she wanted to. Overall, we enjoyed the food. We had a blooming onion ( a little over-cooked. A chopped steak (glorified burger without the bun, but the flavor is soo good!) with a super-yummy sweet potato and some broccoli. My dining partner had the port tenderloin with sweet potato and broccoli. Everything was delicious. This location is very pretty, it's much prettier than the location by where we live. It seems this one's been updated and fancified. Very pretty. The booths were comfy, the lighting was great. The restaurant was very clean. I highly recommend eating here if you need some "real" food.

Not my normal place to eat, but was convienient and all of us were in the mood for steak. We were seated promptly. The waitress also came over shortly thereafter and took our drink orders. She came back with those, but brought the wrong drink to my wife. We ordered a Bloomin Onion for an appetizer. We then ordered our entrées. The onion came out and had been deep fried way too long, so the light batter was burned and the onion had lost all of its flavor. Our entrées arrived 25 minutes later. Many of the sides were incorrect or missing. My wife ordered a fillet mignon medium with shrimp. It was burned and dried out on one side. One of our friends ordered the same as my wife and the steak was not 6 oz., it was more like 3 oz. They also forgot her shrimp. Our other friend got the lamb chops. He said they were okay, but he would probably not order them again if he had the choice. I ordered the bone in ribeye medium rare. It was prepared well done and essentially ruined. The waitress offered to have a new steak prepared medium rare which I agreed to. Five minutes later, she came out with a new steak, again prepared incorrectly. This time it was literally seared on both sides and completely raw...so raw that it was still cold. The fat in the meat hadn't even had time to react to the heat, so there were no juices throughout the cut. At this point it was apparent that the cook had no idea what he or she was doing? Or, he was mad at me for sending the first steak back. Isn't this suppose to be a steak house? The waitress was very apologetic and the manager, who was very pleasant, also visited the table and comped my meal. We then ordered a brownie and ice cream for dessert and coffees. The coffees never arrived and at this point we didn't care anymore. When the brownie arrived we were all joking about how you really can't screw a brownie up. Wrong! This thing had so many nuts in it, that the brownie batter couldn't even bond correctly while baking, leaving it with a grainy dried out texture. Total disaster! It seemed we were not the only table with food issues. We heard another table complaining and observed the manager visiting two other tables. This place needs some serious help. My friends, wife, and I will not be back.

It's an average location for this chain. I love the specialty drinks here!

It is a good thing to have an outback in Rochester. This place is always busy and does a pretty consistent job with the food. I have never had a problem with service or food here and depend on it as a good choice when you are craving a nice hunk of meat and a delicious sweet potato and a marvelous salad for a reasonable and decent price. I typically get the chopped salad because I'm crazy about the bleu cheese and the victoria filet...but on occasion i have enjoyed the ribs and they are wonderful....They also are very cozy and can accommodate larger crowds at some of the large round tables which is very nice for everybody to see each other and communicate vs. a long table.

This place was absolutely terrible. First of all, the service sucks. It took me and my grandma and cousin almost an HOUR until after we had looked over the menus for a waitress to come and take our order. And it wasn't even that busy! So I ordered just some simple mashed potatoes and my grandma got chicken or some kind of meat and my cousin wasn't very hungry so she just got some broccoli. Well it took almost another hour for our waitress to bring our food and I definitely wasn't impressed with the quality my potatoes barely had any flavor and the skin was all dry and hard to chew. My grandmas chicken was okay but she said it was also a little dry. Then to my cousins broccoli, she started eating it when suddenly she stopped and spit it out and said to us "there is sand in here!" And she wasn't kidding there was sand in her broccoli it was disgusting. So we call over the manager and ask him to explain that and after he goes to the kitchen to talk to someone he comes back and said they forgot to WASH THE BROCCOLI. My cousin didn't feel very well after our meal and I'm very upset and never plan on returning there.

We went to the Outback last Thursday night for supper. We'd had a very busy day, were tired, and didn't want to look for something unique. I love the Outback grilled salmon so ordered that with garlic mashed potatoes and a salad. My husband ordered the chopped steak with baked sweet potato and mixed veggies. Our waitress was attentive and funny. Our order arrived promptly and the order was correct. Outback is a chain, of course, so you know what you're going to get which, when you are tired, is just fine.

Not impressed. We got here around 8:30 pm. We got in right away. I'm not going to make this long...just not worth it. Service was ok. Food could have been a lot better. 3 out of 3 steaks were overcooked. 2 should have been medium rare and they were medium. Mine should have been well done but it was burnt. They forgot my husband's veggies. The server said someone else had forgotten to get our soups and then made a big deal that he had to do it himself. And he had to make a drink. You know what!? It's your job to do it. If someone else is supposed to do it and it doesn't get done...do it! I worked in restaurants for 10 yrs...I know how it works. My kids and husband complain every time we go, but we still keep going. I don't know why, though. But...we keep trying.

Food was good, waitress, Andrea, was excellent. 2 problems though, took more than 30 minutes to receive our food, and the whole time we were there we could hear people yelling in the kitchen, not pleasant.

This is a hard review for me. I like outback as a chain. And if I was doing this review a few years ago, this rating would be higher. The bad review is based more on the service, than anything. I went there for my father in law's birthday. I showed up about 10 minutes after my wife and family, and they had ordered a blooming onion, and their drinks. Once we were all there, we placed our orders. The soup and salad came out quickly, but then we waited. And waited. And waited some more. As the frustration grew, the waitress did not come by, and in fact walked by without asking about us. We finally asked, and were told food was coming. 10 minutes later we asked for a manager. SO that was after 30 minutes after placing order. Manager was sort of pleasant, but really didn't placate us well. We did get the blooming onion and plenty of bread, the soup and salad for the two of us that ordered, but that was it. Water refills were lacking, and attention from server with any updates were also non-existant. t really was uncomfortable. In the end, we got the food, and the ended us comping about 30% of the cost, but it just was a really poor service experience. They used to be way better, friendlier, and attentive. For this encounter, the food was good once we got it, but the whole thing just sucked. We have been patrons for years, but sadly, we won't go back unless we see a change. It seems management has changed over enough, and their current culture isn't focused on us customers the way it ought to be. There are enough other choices in Rochester, that we don't need to go back unless our friends tell us it has changed.

Food: My meal was ok, but I thought the Aussie Fries would be much better. The waitress was nice when she was there, but wasn't there often. Finally, they kept adjusting the temperature... making it hot, cold, and hot again.

Have not been to an Outback for quite a while and after last night, probably will not be back. Service was terrible! Waited 15 minutes before even seeing our waitress (who obviously had a cold and was snuffling a lot). After placing our order, the real waiting began... Over an hour before we saw our entrees. The chops were marinated in salt and the garlic mashed potatoes had whole hunks of garlic. Waitress blamed the problem on the computer system, but the other servers did not seem to be having an issue with food coming out. The manager comped dinner and dessert. We opted to take the desserts to go since it was well over an hour by then and surprise... They messed up one of the dessert orders. Extremely disappointing.

Wrote this before the meal which I still hope will be tasty. Sat outside waiting for 25 minutes with over 15 empty tables in the restaurant. Upon being seated, I waited for 7 minutes to be seen by a waitress. We immediately places our orders and did not receive our beverages (or bread) for another 5-6 mins to follow. I guess I expect faster service, and believe having such a long wait with so many open tables is bad management. I do not recommend this location.

Very mixed visit. I had the Outback Steak. The steak was made to my order and was soft . But for my taste I did not like the spices they used. It could be they used to much of it or I just plain didn't like it. I also had potato soup which was very good. Another person ordered Chicken Tenders. The crust on the chicken was over cooked. Her salad was tasty. The hit of her meal was the side order of Mac and Cheese that she ordered. It was very tastful. The service was very good . Where we were seated we had small children on both sides of us. That also impacted the atmosphere of the meal. They were pretty noisy.
