Ordered for take out. Got the pork eggrolls, chicken mushroom chow mein, chicken and black bean sauce. Everything came out very hot, almost to the point that it was too hot as the black bean stir fry continued to cook, making the veggies mushy. Flavorvwise, I liked the egg rolls and the chicken chow mein, nice amount of chicken for the price. The flavor of the chicken with black bean wasn't quite what I expected. I'd probably try here again. The menus don't have any pictures so you really don't see what anything looks like before ordering. For dine in, it looks ok.

This place leans towards more traditional Chinese food, not the "fake Chinese food" as some have claimed. The food isn't Szechuan, so it's not overly spicey, but there is definitely a kick and some taste to it. Even my allergy ridden palate could figure that one out. The mandarin chicken was certainly plentiful. I made four meals out of one entree. Kazaam! Talk about bang for your buck. If you are able to stop by during the day, holy buckets, the entrees are cheap. A limited menu, but $4.99 for fried rice, wontons, and your entree? Heck yes! The inside is musty smelling and the service wasn't great, but if you are looking for a local dive bar version of Chinese food? This is your place.

Folks, it is Canton Garden! Not Szechuan Garden, Hunan, Sichuan, etc. Twenty One years in the same location! They have adjusted recipes, made menu changes, added more diverse regional cuisine, perfected cooking techniques not of their region, and keep evolving to stay fresh and in tune with current tastes. If you ate Chow Mien here twenty years ago they have a current version for you. If you ate here more recently you, probably, in the past few years seen new items on the menu to try. Now, I don't want to shock anyone, but, many of us are not known for adventures palates. Matter of fact I head the couple behind us crave something different and ordered Chicken Egg Foo Young! Usually, they just get the Vegi and the House version just sounded to daring! Not having been here for a few moths we looked at the new dishes and took the middle ground with Mongolian Beef and Roast Pork Low Mien (Cantonese style). Both dishes were more than good. They were perfect! The beef was tender, the veggis crisp, delicious. The Lo Mien was also exceptional. You can order spicy to taste from none to Mn Mild all the way to Mn Wild **** Now, if you happen to go by to check out the new mural painted on their historic wall by the city you can rediscover this little gem and try some new menu items or an old favorite done right!

The food is just... Ugh I dunno, terrible I guess would be a proper word. Big portions, but bland and just.... Bad I guess.. Not Much else to say I've had MUCH better.

Maybe it's because I'm slightly more cultured when it comes to fake Chinese food, but this place was horrible. My Kung Pao chicken was so flavorless even though it was swimming in liquid, I couldn't eat much of it at all. My boyfriend got the Sesame chicken and it was not good at all. There was no evidence of sauce on the chicken at all... I'm not sure how you go about messing that up. Sadly, your chances of seeing me in the McDonald's drive up lane are 100% more likely than seeing me here.

I happened upon this little gem one day at lunch when I was craving Chinese food and had remembered seeing it on my way to my Chiropractor. They have amazing lunch specials starting at 3.99 yes that's correct folks 3.99 for fried rice and an appetizer. I had the sesame chicken(about 7 good size pieces) (number 3 on the lunch menu) that came with fried rice(two large scoops) and two fried Won Tons 4.99. The sauce was very good. Slightly spicy(menu stated it was a spicy dish) most Asian restaurants "Americanize" since many really can't handle what the Asian palate considers spicy. The chicken was very fresh evidenced by the fact that even with the sauce it still was crunchy. I got my meal to go but there is room do sit and enjoy a meal there. Hard to believe that in these days of rising prices there is a place so reasonably priced. The lunch menu is served until 2pm with a note that for an additional dollar the same thing can be enjoyed at any time after. I will definitely return to try additional offerings.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
