Snuffy's is a great family restaurant. It has a 50's diner feel and is a great place for lunch or dinner any day of the week. The wait staff and hosts are very friendly and make you feel welcome.

I took a couple of the kids, we had burgers and fries and malts and it was awesome. I actually had the breaded chicken sandwich which was great. The decor is old, run down, and totally appropriate given the menu and the pricing. Brought bake memories of places we'd go as kids. Don't change a thing, well except the bathrooms could use a little remodeling...and cleaning. The malts were awesome and huge. Definitely will go back.

Decent food, but the bathrooms were *seriously disgusting.* I couldn't even breath in them bcs they wreaked so badly. That made me look twice at the general conditions of the restaurant which were pretty gross, too.

We live nearby and have gone there many times. Someone here wrote that the salad is "awful"! Our experience is that the green salad is the best thing on tge menu! The greens are dark green, the tomato slices are red and decent, and the salad is huge and shareable! The burgers are good but extremely greasy and if you want mushrooms, they come from a can. Order a small side of fries - it's big enough to share. We've found the waitresses to be very nice, but the owner (or manager - not sure) is not friendly or welcoming at all.

What would you like to know about a 1950's burger joint that you couldn't tell already? Fries = not the old school fries like Convention Grill serves, but still pretty solid. Burgers = original. they haven't changed a thing since they opened and that's what makes them so great. Sure they have opened other locations (There isn't one in Bloomington, so no idea what that 2 star place was that guy is talking aboot) but they are all the same no matter where you go. Shakes = Did you really think that a 1950's burger join wouldn't have shakes? Not as good as Convention Grill, but then again, Convention is one of the few 5 stars I would hand out. Overall, it's somewhere fun to go if you want to be around a bunch of families with young kids who want to take G-ma and G-pa out for dinner. Decent service.

Came here after an expensive and disappointing visit to Galaxy Drive-In. I realized we probably should have come here to start with. But no matter, it was dessert time. And our family wasn't disappointed. Had a Coke float, the kids had half malts, and my wife and a strawberry sundae, all were good. This place has been around since the stone ages, but it's still clean. Love the historical photos and newspaper stories on display at the entrance. Staff was good, looks like a local/family-run operation. We'll be back.

Yesterday, we went there for lunch. Since I cut out dairy a few years ago, I was a bit reluctant to go to a malt shop. But the general consensus was to go here.. So, oh well. Apparently, the owner is a huge baseball fan as pictures were hung all over the walls of professional and local b-ball players. I ordered the grilled cheese with fries. Pretty good as you cannot go wrong with grilled cheese. For a beverage, I had to go with a malt even though I was going to pay for it later. So, I thought, if I was going to get one and pay for it, I better get a good one. So, I ordered the fudge brownie malt (1/2 order of course). OMG, it was so good. But within 15 min, I began feeling it. I must say, it was worth it. But I would not get another for a long time.

Perfect old school, homestyle burgers. Love the diverse lunch crowd...kids of every age, seniors, office workers, tradespeople, families...great vibe. Friendly, warm & attentive server. Quick in & out lunch during my busy weekdays. My only bone to pick - give me a healthy alternative to french fries (it's french fries or nothing as a side).

I've been coming here at least once a year since I was in 6th grade. The burgers are super delicious, the malts are... well... that's what they were named after so yeah ;) They are a break from all the modern restaurants in the area - offering a vintage/old school atmosphere with nice waitresses and tasty drive in style food (similar to an old fashioned A&W) but a little more independent feel than that.

Oh, Snuffy's...I've been visiting you since I was probably...5? Literally every memory I have of this place just reeks of sentimental-ness and that sort of thing. Coming with grandparents, coming with family, coming with friends, dates, you know - that sort of thing. Their burgers are perfectly crispy diner burgers - I always go for the single, never the double. Usually with cheddar and fixin's. If I have to choose, I'll pick their fries over their onion rings but if you have enough people (aka, more than two) where you can do both, do both. Oh, and the malts. The most perfect finish to the whole Malt Shop experience. I've done the chocolate, the butterscotch and the vanilla and, well, Snuffy's is pretty much perfect at what they do. And, in order to spread this pure goodness, they have locations all around the metro area. But when you go there, you wouldn't know that from the feel on the inside. At the Minnetonka location, my faves are the 50's murals on the walls. Classic.

I ate there once with my wife. Never again. She loved the malt she had, but she normally has a sweet tooth. I forget what kind of burger I ordered, but it was undercooked, the bun was smothered in grease, and there was a hair in it. I can't believe people eat there enough to keep it in business. Society has some pretty low standards for good food. Not recommended.

Terrible service and the manager didn't care. I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak without green peppers. They forgot about me. I got my Philly Cheese steak while every one at the table was half way done with their food. The cheese steak was covered in cooked peppers. The server apologized and took it back. It was brought back with peppers and some unmelted cheese. It still had some peppers on it and it tasted like green peppers. I sent it back again. I could see the cooks picking off peppers and mocking me, rolling their eyes and laughing. I canceled the sandwich. By this time everyone at the table was done with their food. Then a few minutes later the malt I ordered showed up. Great, thanks for bringing me my malt when every one is done. I ordered a chocolate banana malt. They must use some sort of terrible chocolate syrup, it was an awful malt. If you use cheap ingredients, it is going to be a bad malt, period. After paying, I told the manager what happened. All he could manage was a "sorry." I would think that if a customer is treated poorly after the servers and the cooks messed up, the manager would try to make it right somehow. Sorry and $0.25 will get me a gumball. I will never go back.

Great diner and a cornerstone for anyone who grew up in or around Minnetonka in the 1990s. Snuffy's malts were chunky, cement-thick concoctions that complimented the artery-clogging power of the their fries and burgers. I'm not sure I ever ordered anything but a Snuffy burger with bacon, but ohhhhh it was so good. Haven't been here in years and plan to go back over the holidays.

Mmmm! So good! The burgers are delicious and the Malts are to die for!!!! If you prefer a shake over a malt they will accommodate. I would give Snuffy's 5 stars if the service was better. We waited a very long time for our food, but I wouldn't say it was the worst service I have ever had and to be fair our waitress was pregnant and she was probably tired.

surprised this place got only 3 stars since i liked it! came with a big party so we ordered onion rings, chili fries which i really liked. the onion rings were big and crunchy. the chili fries were on a big plate with cheese and onion and the chili had a good flavor. i ordered the bison burger which was big and a yummy stawberry, chocolate, banana malt! would go back.

Coworker X loves this place! Someone's birthday? Snuffy's! Someone's going away get together? Snuffy's! Someone's new? Snuffy's! OMG, can we take a break from Snuffy's??? Hope she never finds this review... she'll kick my butt and I know she can! Anyway, I don't really have much to say about this burger joint; I just know it's not the best. Service is slow sometimes and food is a hit or miss. Sometimes the meat is nice and juicy. Other times, it's too small and dry like Burger King (not that I want more meat in my burger, too much protein is bad for you!). I usually skip the malts.

Turkey burger not terrible but if you don't like greasy greasy food avoid this place as grease seems to be their "special". Veggie sandwich was inedible. For the money it is not worth it and has nothing healthy to speak of.

This is my favorite place to eat when I come to visit. I love their Malts and burgers. The service is good and the prices are fair. I've been visiting this place since I was knee-high to a duck. Love You Snuffy's!

Me and my family went here after coming back from the campground. the food was not that great.. The malts they have tasted like they used aritificial flavoring and very little real fruit. The burger and fries I had were pretty bland, my family wasn't impressed with their meals that much either. The service was ok nothing all that great. Our waitress did not take any drink orders at all. I probably wont be back, I'll go to the malt shop instead where they make good malts and the food is better.

I used to go here with students or other teachers after or in between school functions. I would always get the swiss & mushroom burger with fries. Everything is very greasy, and the malts were always a favorite. I'm only giving this place 2 stars because the wait staff were always snooty when I would come in with students. Hey, I made sure they tipped at least 15%, but we always got bad service anyway. I called ahead of time to give them over 24 hours' notice and we were actually told once that they couldn't accommodate us at least one of those times (we're talking 10 students here, not 30).

Snuffy's! I don't remember the food as being all too much to rave about, but it's such a staple Minnetonka/Wayzata establishment. And the malts and milkshakes? Oh, they're good.

My wife, two kids and I were going to try Snuffy's in Minnetonka for the first time tonight. When we drove up we noticed a lot of people eating (a good sign, right?) and about 10 people waiting in a hallway. I sent my wife in to inquire about the expected wait time, since I rarely wait more than 20 minutes for food. My wife - a very pleasant lady if I say so - walked up to the cash register and talked with an older gentleman who was very rude to her. She simply asked how long the wait was, and he responded with something along the lines of "I don't know...how am I supposed to know how long the wait is?" (Ummm, possibly because you work here, and one might expect you would know how long the average diner sticks around?) When she politely pressed him for a "rough" idea of the wait, he responded with some more sarcastic looks, grunts and non-answers. So she walked out and we went next door to Spasso and spent twice as much on dinner at a place that treats people very well. Oh yeah, my wife said in hindsight it's good we didn't go to Snuffy's since it was "dirty and grimey."

Good burgers and fries. My Oreo shake was really runny, though. I think it's because the glass was just out of the dishwasher and still hot. I like that you can get the shakes and malts in half sizes - the full size is always way too much. Even with the half, I couldn't finish it. Nothing overly special about this place, aside from the lightening-fast service. I'm guessing it's one of those places that people around here grew up with and so feel especially attached to. The owner were there seating people and busing tables while chatting up the regulars, which is kind of cool. Clientele is roughly 100% families. We were the only table without young kids.
