My husband and I came here for dinner because I had a Internet deal to use. I have never been here before nor heard of it before the deal I got. We both order different burgers and french fries. The burgers were fabulous and so were the fries. We then ordered the chocolate fondue for dessert. It was amazing. It came with plenty of fruit and other stuff to dip in it. I also loved the fact that they had gluten free hamburger buns and pizza crust. Which is nice for me so I have options to eat. And they don't charge extra for the bun like most other places. The staff was great and were right on top of stuff. We will be coming back for sure.

We won't be going back. Service was slow. The truffle fries were stale or just undercooked. And the kids burgers were definitely frozen despite what it says on the menu. And we were served a Ruben burger instead of the sandwich that we specifically requested. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.

I'm updating my 2 star review for Cocoa Loco to 5 stars. After my issues at the restaurant (see my previous review), the owner contacted me. She could not have been more attentive and apologetic. She made it right. I am beyond impressed! Give Cocoa Loco a try! I've already been back and I intend to go back again. The food is super yummy and the staff has been great! Thanks, Cocoa Loco! You have a returning customer in me!

I cannot remember ever being this disappointed by a restaurant. This is highly overpriced, mediocre food that I could have whipped up at home for a fraction of a price. The service was fine and the atmosphere was cute, but there's no way I'm wasting my money on a return trip. Also, I chose Cocoa Loco after reading the online menu. When we arrived, there was a new and significantly more expensive menu with many changes! Posting an outdated menu is very unprofessional, especially if the new menu has jacked up prices. I had planned on ordering a portabella mushroom burger with smoked Gouda cheese and skinny fries. I was craving that meal all day. NONE of those options were available on the menu. The only vegetarian burger option was a black bean burger, which I was told was Morningstar, and there was no way I was going to pay $9.50 for that! I wound up ordering a turkey burger. It was cooked fine, but it was clearly a frozen Jennie-O patty or some equivalent. The "pretzel bun" was also straight out of a package, as was the coleslaw. With the toppings, that burger cost over $11 and was SO not worth it! My daughter's pizza was horrible -- the kind of pizza you'd get in a bowling alley or Chuck E. Cheese. The best thing on the table was my husband's brisket chili, as it was probably the only homemade and restaurant-quality thing we ordered. We also ordered a shake, which was okay but nothing memorable. If you're hungry for this kind of food, go to the Convention Grill in Edina. Or go to the Malt Shop in Minneapolis for one of the best malts you'll ever have. Forget Cocoa Loco.

Really cute place, good food, good malts, and great smoothies! Friendly service as well.

My sister and I stopped by one morning wanting to try their breakfast. We really didn't know what to expect first. We saw the window sign, "Pizza", "Burgers" and it was hard for us to imagine they even opened that early to serve breakfast. When we walked into the dining room, the server greeted us right away with a friendly smile. He handed the menu to us and asked if we had any questions. He was attentive and helpful. The double sided menu for breakfast was interesting. They served breakfast combos such as omelette, pancakes, egg benedict, scramble eggs and french toast. You can also order Ala Carte such as 3 french toast for $5.95, 3 pancakes for $5.95 or 2 sausage links for $2.95. There prices were so competitive and reasonable. For that price I can hardly get anything from IHOP. We ordered the 3 french toasts, 2 sausage link and skillet with turkey bacon to share. While we were waiting, we noticed the charging outlets along the wall under the table which is such a nice feature that most restaurants don't have. The decoration of the restaurant was just simple and cozy with a fireplace to keep us warm. We received our food promptly and our server also got us extra creamers for our coffee since the coffee were kind of rich. Our skillet was huge and even the french toasts and sausage links were in big portion. There were plenty of cheese and meat in our skillet and the french toasts were delicious. They were extra crispy on the outside and moist in the middle. I didn't even have to put too much syrup on them and they tasted sweet and delectable. At this point, I still cannot believe how much food they gave us. Their breakfast is much better than Denny's, IHOP or Panera. We will definitely come back for breakfast!

We stopped by last night for just a quick snack. We were in the area with a little bit of time to kill and I'd heard a lot about them. My daughter had an oreo shake and we split an order of skinny fries. There were about four staff working inside and two of them were great- two we seemed to be bothering with our business. The food was fine- my daughter loved her shake- but service is really everything. I can get an oreo shake and fries almost anywhere. I don't think we'll go back- which is too bad since we're in the area quite a bit and they have outdoor seating.

Stopped in here on a Friday around 1:30p... still pretty busy from the lunch rush. Had the egg salad sandwich and a cup of the chili. Service was great. Food came out very quick and tasted very fresh. Cocoa Loco has a casual, comfortable / modern diner atmosphere. I've been told to come back for the ice cream. Heard the Pizza was good too. The owners are the same guys that own Lone Spur Bar & Grill up the street so I'd expect this place to do well.

I'm in love with the Cocoa? Coffee bar. Burgers. Shakes & malts. Pizza. Beer. Hot dogs. Breakfast sandwiches. They should rename this place "America." Most of the lesser ratings seem to focus on service. Our party had good service so there you go. We came in as a party of six for lunch. Casual atmosphere, somewhat "fast casual" but it's still a sit down joint. Burger was a little dry but still pretty good. Butterscotch malt was a little mild on flavor but still pretty good. Everyone else was happy with theirs. Will stop back. It's not like there aren't many menu choices.

My coworker and I are wannabe foodies and so on Wednesday's, which are usually our office's slow days, we head out to find different lunch spots. I found this one on Yelp, saw that it had great reviews, and we headed out to try it. They have this special on Wednesday's. A burger and a malt for $8. So we were all jazzed and went out to the restaurant. Service was great, food was great, malt was awesome. Definitely try the jalepeno cheese curds. Just enough spice to make an old Minnesota standard that much more memorable. The atmosphere is also very inviting. Imagine eating malt shop food by a fireplace in these cold Minnesota winters. That's what you get with this place. Highly recommended.

Went there for dinner on a Saturday night around 6pm. It wasn't very busy, there were more empty tables than full ones. While we were waiting for our food we noticed 2 people return their food because it was not what they ordered. The servers were happy to correct it but then of course everyone else at their table was eating while they waited. We started with the cheese curds. They were pretty good for the price. I ordered a cheeseburger with caramelized onions and it arrived without them. Our server offered to get me some but I declined. My bf got the brisket burger and he said it was ok but the brisket was flavorless. He had hoped for a more smokey flavor. Considering this place is connected to the Lone Spur we were hoping for better. Overall service was fine, food was fine, nothing memorable, not sure if we'll go back.

Young, inexperienced waitstaff didn't know the menu. The waitress didn't understand when we asked for a specific menu item (the condiment caddy that supposedly came with the hot dog) or bring applesauce she offered for our toddler. We got tired of explaining the menu to her and so we stopped and just accepted whatever was brought out even though it was incorrect. Our waitress and other employees actively avoided eye contact with us when we tried to flag them down and up to four of them stood behind the register at several times chatting while we waited. We had to go up to them at the register multiple times to ask for something since we were being ignored. The brisket "burger" was brisket mixed with (unseasoned?) beef on a bun, and toppings and sauce were lacking. Asking for medium on that "burger"had no meaning, since the brisket was completely well done and dry. The soup was very oily and salty. The (basically unadorned, since we could not track down a caddy) hot dog was basic but fine. Caesar salad was odd, with inappropriate toppings, like canned black olives and tomatoes.

So close to 5 stars. We visited with our 2 and 3 year old children on a Friday night, arriving around 6. We were greeted promptly at the door despite being a seat yourself kind of place. Nice touch. They were busy but had a couple tables available, we were sat right away. Ambiance - A+. This place was fantastic. From the leather chairs in front if the fireplace to the well placed TV's, the decorations, everything was spot on. In addition, they had the channels all situated so you could see the Wild game, or cartoons. It was perfect. I watched the game, the kids watched the Disney channel, it was fantastic. Its a good thing it was such a pleasant environment, the next section explains why. Service - C. Our waitress arrived at our table very quickly and our kids were accommodated right away. Crayons and activities were there in case they got bored of the cartoons. Our drink order was taken right away, and all beverages came out promptly. So far, A+ experience. Then things took a turn for the worse. The waitress did come back once, but it was after about three minutes so we didn't need drink refreshing yet, no real reason to stop by so soon. Then she disappeared. She seemed very busy, but not with her tables. She was extremely polite, and very friendly, we just couldn't get her to look in our direction. After about 30 minutes, the kids started getting restless. We were very hungry, so the wife suggested cheese curds to hold us until the food came. I could not get our waitress. I finally went to the counter where I saw she was in the back chatting with employees. I counted at that moment, six employees all chit chatting. There was one gal at the counter, and she happily took our order for cheese curds. Another fifteen minutes go by, and finally the food comes out. We ordered straight off the menu, no deviations. The cheese curds came out after our burgers. We did order the cheese curds late so that's not really a knock on them. Upon delivery of the food they knew things were slow and they comped our cheese curds and offered a free dessert. I want to stress that at no time did we complain, we didn't give anybody the stink eye, it took zero action on our part for them to make it right. Food - A-. We ordered a few different things so we could get a better sample of their offerings. I had the brisket burger, my wife the chicken salad sandwich, and for our kids we got the turkey deluxe and a cheeseburger. I had the potato salad, the kids had the skinny fries and my wife the waffle fries. The skinny fries are very basic. Not bad not great, a little lacking on salt but that's probably good, you can always add to taste, the reverse not so much. The waffle fries were very good, the potato salad slightly above average. The potato salad was served room temp so I really hope they dont use mayo....either way it was good. My brisket burger was excellent. It was huge! The presentation was excellent, it literally looked like the kind of burgers some places use for a menu photo, but then you get it and its a sad replica. The taste was good, and as others mentioned the brisket was a little bland, but still very good. I would say it was one of the better burgers I've had, and I'm very much a burger connoisseur. My wife did not care for her food. She didn't elaborate much but said it was bland. She ended up eating half of my sons cheeseburger. Some have said it was excellent so YMMV. My sons burger was very good, but the star of the show was my daughters turkey sandwich. It was ridiculous. It looked HUGE next to her (see photo). Good turkey, great bacon, excellent presentation, it was a hit. I thought my brisket burger was better, but if you come here not wanting a burger, you could do much worse than the turkey. Overall - A-. Maybe that actually deserves 5? If I could give 4.5 that's where I'd go. There was a miscommunication and the girl who told us our curds and dessert were getting comped failed to mention that to our server. Awkward moment when I explained that to her....she checked with someone and then happily comped the items. The desserts are expensive here but don't be fooled by the price. They are massive. We took our apple crisp home and the to go box was seriously heavy. It was delicious, and I would say if you can, spring for a dessert. Though I didn't have one, the beer selection was nice, if limited. They had a good selection despite the limited numbers, and I would have had no trouble finding something to my taste. So you have good food, friendly staff, management that is on top of things enough to correct mistakes as they are made, and fantastic decor. The price isn't cheap, but the value is still high. I would recommend this place to anyone, and we were already planning our next trip here. That's as high a recommendation I can give. We really enjoyed this place!

Ordered a burger and margarita pizza through grubhub. Both dishes were tasteless, no seasoning. Fries that came with the burger had no ketchup (I guess you have to specify that you want ketchup while ordering) and were rubbery. This is the first time we ordered from them and most likely will not repeat.

It was my first time here, and I probably won't go back again. I had the tuna salad, and it was ok. I also had a cup of chili expecting you to be like the chili at lone spur, it really wasn't. My dad had the hotdog. Delivered with no condiments. After asking for relish and onions, she brought relish and jalapenos. I'll give her a break that she was new, but that's no excuse for inattentiveness. Service was slow and it wasn't even busy. It was very mediocre.

We went here for the first time on Valentine's Day. The burgers were delicious and the shake was awesome. A full shake was enough for 2 people and our server offered to put it in two separate glasses for us. We will definitely be back!!!

What an amazing place! We got burgers and a chocolate malt - truly delicious. We will be back many times! Definitely check it out. It's cozy but contemporary and service is great. Well deserved 5 stars!

I was skeptical about going here cause of the reviews but it was not bad. Food was goid. Had the moppa wings with the dry rub. That was good. Onion rings and a malt. They were good too. I can see what people are saying about how staff wasn't attentive enough but that was fine because I got the chance to enjoy my food without interruption. But that's just me but I am definitely going back. The price was right too.

I can't say how the food was because I left after being ignored for 15 minutes. The sign says Seat Yourself so three of us chose a seat. At 6pm they were reasonably busy. Several groups of customers came in and also chose seats. They were waited on while we sat and received no attention. For about 10 minutes there seemed to be only one male server who was moving in slow motion. Then I saw a female server come out of the kitchen and begin tending to her tables so we continued to wait to see if she would notice us. Nope. So we left. I love the Lone Spur so I was anxious to try this place but now I don't think I will go back. I must admit I was turned off by television sets in a family restaurant. I don't go to a restaurant so my children can watch tv.

Had good burger. I asked for salad instead of fries...they have me a scoop of shredded lettuce. Ugh. Great shake! Slow service.

I really wanted to like this place, it is very close and really cute. So we were the only customers in the place. Placed an order for three items. One was omitted, did not get billed but still it is not that hard to write three items down for an order. The worker was very nice but what a big error. I didn't mention it since it seemed to take a long time for the other two items to arrive. I then asked for some napkins, I had one at the table. We needed them badly, so waited and waited. Finally got up to look for them and they magically appeared. Food was ok, not bad but nothing special. I previous reviewer had mentioned lots of chatting with the young workers and I would agree, no supervision it appeared..

I had a patty melt burger and it was phenomenal. There was a ton of toppings. Complete with a pretzel bun and a superb price at $9.49. The waffle fries I received were a generous portion; I could not even finish them all. The person I went with got the brisket burger and it was so big he had to cut it in half and barely fit it in his mouth. And he has a big mouth.
