Move over, Chilly Billy's! The Yogurt Lab is in town. This is thee best fro-yo I have had since I attended school in SoCal. Cross my heart. Their extensive options are all amazing and taste natural instead of the usual artificial flavoring. The guy working allowed my friend and I to have endless taste-tests so we began experimenting through their periodic table of flavors. I sampled their coconut, pineapple, citrus (Ag), cheesecake, and strawberry special and ended up mixing the coconut and citrus. Then come the toppings! Between their countless fruit and chocolate items, you are bound to be able to create your ideal confection. I went with strawberries, blackberries and pomegranate seeds to top off my perfect treat. Their clever scientific theme and delicious flavors have made The Yogurt Lab my new favorite locale for a frozen yogurt fix.

I love the Yogurt Lab! I've been to multiple locations but this one is my main one. Before discovering Yogurt Lab I was not a fan of frozen yogurt, I always thought it tasted too tart or the flavor was off. But at Yogurt lab all there flavors taste true to what they are supposed to be and every batch taste fresh. I love that they have a big variety of flavors to choose from and often change their offerings. I can honestly say that I am obsessed with this place. I love that they are open late so I can get my fix at night. If this place were any closer to the Northeast I would probably go here everyday.

So many flavors! I am not a huge fan of frozen yogurt and somehow I've been here twice in the past two weeks. In comparison I've been to Chilly Billy's in dinkytown about three times since it opened two years ago. Honestly, I forgot it was frozen yogurt it tasted so good! Rich and creamy like ice cream but with no fat to guilt you later! I tried the Strawberry Special and mixed it with Lemon (super good) and today I had the Island coconut (also amazing!). The main advantage it has is its huge variety of flavors, which Chilly Billy's does not have. The diversity of toppings is also greater. Though I would say the quality is about the same between the two places I think given the choice I would choose Yogurt Lab over its competition. Oh it also has great outside seating and on warm days the wall lifts up so the whole place feels like you are sitting outside (can be good or bad depending on how how it is).

Wonderful place to enjoy frozen yogurt! Enjoyed it quite a bit and would definitely go back. Had a citrus-like fro-yo with some amazing fruit and popping pearls and I was not disappointed. I highly recommend!

My boyfriend got me into this place because of his love for deserts and now I'm hooked as well! What is not to like about this place? Smart location right on campus. A large variety of flavors to choose from, (maybe even more then other Yogurt Lab locations) and you can chose how much you want every time! Great for portion control when it comes to health and expenses. All those points are great and dandy but my favorite thing about Yogurt lab is all the side items! Cereal, mochi, boba, sprinkles, wafers, marsh mellows, marsh mellow creme, chocolate, fresh fruit, ect. The strawberry mochi goes SOO well with everything and sometimes I'll just purchase a cup of fresh fruit for a healthy alternative. Will continue to give money to this place.

Great frozen yogurt place to go to if you're on campus or live near campus. They have a wide variety of flavors but I think they have the most extensive choice of toppings. Seriously, anything you can think of they have. I like that you don't feel cold when you're eating frozen yogurt on a cold MN winter night here. The place is very neat and clean. It's a great place to just hang out with friends and eat some froyo!

Froyo heaven. I really, really loved all of the flavors I tried at this place! The froyo was consistently creamy and rich tasting (not at all icy like some other places I've tried) and the large array of toppings was fabulous. The guy working there was genuinely friendly and wonderfully helpful. He clearly LOVED their froyo and it showed in the way he greeted everyone that walked into the store and explained the products to them. I hung out there for about an hour and he chatted with me and several other customers (it was slow at 2pm) and I'd say I learned a thing or two about the more technical aspects of froyo. He had multiple suggestions for great flavor combinations and discussed a bit about how they made their froyo. I'm going to also email the manager and express how impressed I was by the customer service (and no, I don't know him personally). Anyway, I had a medium (okay...large) portion of froyo that consisted of espresso, hazelnut (aka heaven), salted caramel and something else.. maybe it was chili chocolate. I topped it with hot caramel sauce (yum), brownies, raspberries and heath bars. Sooo good. The decor was nothing short of adorable. Love the chemistry-lab theme. I want the tall stools they have for my house. And the wood top tables. It was a really fun space to be in, and it looks like the front windows retract so it'll be open air in the summer. One downside - the music was PUMPING. And not in a pleasant way, in a more headache-inducing unwanted rave way. I get they want to promote a fun atmosphere, but I think both the volume and the selection of music could be toned down... It's not a place I'd come to hang out or have a date with a friend because of the music. Oh, two downsides - I wish they had wifi. But oh well. In short, it's probably a good thing for my waistline that I'm finished at the U, because if I were still there on a daily basis I'd come up with daily reasons why I deserved a yogurt lab treat...

My favorite fro-yo place!! THE BEST! My all time favorite is the mix of just plain & salted Carmel... Ah for the topping I always go for almonds and walnuts, sometimes mochi~

Clean, attractive store. High quality yogurt with many choices of flavors and toppings. Delicious!

Fro-Yo Friday gets me through the work week. Nothing more exciting than eating frozen yogurt concoctions for lunch. I love the Tahitian vanilla. And their rotating flavors rock, like Nutella! Depending on your taste buds, you may want to add fruits, candy bars, or cereals. Beware, prices are by weight, so expect a $10 dish if you pile on TONS of toppings. My only recommendation is to stay away from the fruit flavors. Their lemon and kiwi tend to taste really artificial and sweet.

If you pitted Yogurt Lab vs. Chilly Billy's, the Lab wins the U of M's fro yo wars, hands down. On this beautiful summer day, the garage-style door was swung open and tables were sprawled on the sidewalk, making for some great Stadium Village people watching. Sample cups are self-serve, so feel free to take a couple - the employees are right behind you at the desk, so just be reasonable with the number you take. Or just be shameless. And let the flavor experience begin! Yogurt Lab offers a wider variety of flavors as compared to Chilly Billy's or other self-serve places, including standards like chocolate and strawberry and unique choices such as Limoncello, Tiramisu, and mango. If you run across Salted Caramel or Red Orange, definitely give those a try. The flavors are really true to form and the consistency and texture are spot on - no ice crystals or flavorless bites in sight. At the end of the fro yo row there's a line of dry cereal and granola dispensers to begin your topping experience. Props to them for trying to keep grubby hands out of as many topping dispensers as possible! The middle island is full of the other choices like cookie and candy toppings, fresh fruit, mixed nuts, boba pearls, Marshmallow Fluff, and chocolate and caramel sauces. The space itself is open and airy (especially in summer!), clean, and well-organized. Also, check in here using the Yelp app to get 10% off your order!

Their froyo isn't too shabby. My only thing was it was that some were too sweet and most tasted very artificial. Then again, there aren't that many that can compete in MN...

Hells yes to Yogurt Lab. I've been super partial to Chilly Billy's in the past... but decided it would be a good idea to at least check out Yogurt Lab one hot day after a trip to Lake Calhoun. So glad I did! This place does fro-yo right. The location is prime, next to the dorms and close to East Bank happenings on campus. The place is designed with a science lab vibe, but doesn't overdo it. When it's nice out, they open the walls, garage style. I particularly liked the giant table of elements with all the flavors and the lab chairs on the stainless steel tables. The froyo is great. Definitely comparable to Chilly Billy's. Love that they have mochi and bobas to add to just fruit. I got a mix of raspberry tart, strawberry special, and HappyYo-- with lots of fruits and bobas on top to add to the refreshing snack. Yum. My only two negatives-- there was no one there to give us samples. How am I supposed to know what HappyYo is? From the other reviews, it sounds like they do usually have someone there, though. Also, the music was REALLY loud. Really fun playlist (felt like I was at a froyo party, heeeey) but a little loud for when you just want to chat and eat frozen yogurt with a friend. Overall, I'm sure I'll be back. If not to this location, definitely to the one in the downtown skyway for a little work treat.

I absolutely love yogurt lab the yogurt flavors here taste exactly as what the label says not like some other yogurt areas ahum MOA has some don't bother going! but anyways yogurt lab is legit it can get pricey well for me atleast cause I pile on the goods they price by weight! I swear i pack the toppings like nobodies business! between me and partner it was $23 but again its cause we fat asses! I think they even got a loyalty program going on anyways most def a place I would recommend and I believe there yogurt is low in fat I always get limonette strawberry and pineapple mixed together! mmmmmmmmmm

Good but a little overpriced at 55 cents/ounce. Definitely for the college crowd. Very small place. My favorite was the tart.

The time has come for a downgrade. A result of quality degeneration, or a jaded froyo appetite? Either possible, but I can proclaim with certitude that Yogurt Lab just isn't doing the trick anymore. On my most recent visit, flavors were drippy, runny, and increasingly artificial in taste and color (a stop light red strawberry-eek!). It has become difficult to deny the existence of some [presumed] ick ingredients, particularly when mere baby-sized portions lead to a bloated belly. And, I am still convinced that this location (maybe YL in general) is pricier per ounce than other yogurt shops. $4 for a quick squirt or two (covering maybe a fifth or quarter of the cup) seems excessive. On the upside, this campus location continues to strike me as more hygienic and mature compared to suburban shops (i.e. Edina, Wayzata, etc.), a result of the virtual absence of uncontrolled children running yogurt wildly over the rims of their cups and shuffling grimy fingers through toppings. And, I'll always embrace the convertible storefront that opens to expose the entire shop to the magic of summer. Extra points just for that feature.

Super exciting update! On our last visit to Yogurt Lab, I was delighted to find they have abandoned the shaker for the sprinkles and now just have a tub of sprinkles with a big serving spoon. And all is right with the world... Update on my update: The last time we visited, the shaker was back and the tub o' sprinkles was nowhere to be found. So it seems perhaps this was just a temporary thing. So I must now retract my super excited sprinkle update. Boooooo.

The best frozen yogurt I've had in the Twin Cities! I tried this new location out with much excitement and I absolutely love it! I like the theme of having it marketed to be like a "lab" where they have the flavors listed like a periodic table and chemistry equations on the wall. This place is so high-tech and the cashier uses an ipad mounted on the counter in place of a traditional cash register. The interior design is very edgy and modern. I absolutely love the types of flavors here! They also have multiple flavors of mochi (green tea, strawberry, mango, regular) The fresh pomegranate was a nice surprise too. For the workout buffs, there is hemp, protein powder, wheat germ, etc. The location is absolutely fantastic. It's close to the Freshman dorms and many other apartments. It's nearby a lot of restaurants, including the renowned Hong Kong Noodles. Customer service here is great and it's the only Frozen Yogurt place I know where they walk around and pick up your cups when you're done.

Better than the average Yogurt Lab for two reasons: 1.) Front of store opens up completely (...with only 2-3 months of warm weather we Minnesotans must be outside every nice moment we can)! 2.) FREE, unlimited access to sample cups! You want 2 samples - Done! You want 5 samples - Done and done! You want 15 samples - Done, done and done!

Quality decline as of late... I used to like Yogurt Lab and now merely stomach it. The flavors have become running, taste very artificial, and I haven't seen anything creamy in the line up for a long time. Walgreen's down the street has better vanilla for a much lower price...

I have never made it to the other 2 yogurt lab locations and was excited to see this space being built out by the U campus. I happened to be down there a couple weeks after it opened and got the pleasure of trying it out. I love the flavor options! They all taste great and they make sure to have options to please everyone. Original usually is one, with chocolate options and some fruity ones. Everything has the same consistency which can be hit or miss at other places. I love the periodic table of flavors and the fact they have this awesome unique play on an area where there's so many copycats. Yay to their marketing peeps! The flow of the place is a little awkward, especially if it's crowded, but I can get over that just to have some of this in my tummy! I look forward to hot summer days when they can open the glass garage door and have a complete inside/outside space.

Delicious - love the flavors and toppings! As first time visitors, I do wish the young man at the counter had told us about the ability to sample when we asked how this 'thing' worked as my son tossed out half of his due to the intense vanilla flavor from the birthday cake flavored yogurt. I did enjoy the open air feel. We were able to sit back and enjoy nice weather with our frozen yogurt (ps... the open store front allows for some amazing people watching!)

Delicious! Unique flavors to choose from, tons of toppings choices, and all at an affordable price! I tried the chocolate and cake batter twist. AMAZING!!
