The search is over, I finally found my southwest Chinese takeout place! The food is super delicious, very diverse and amazingly cheap . A large Egg Drop Soup for example is $2.26 and a large Garlic Chicken with a side of white rice is $8.65. Very reasonable prices in my opinion and for no less than the gigantic portions that you would expect from this type of take-out. Awesome sides and starters: Steamed wontons - super soft but not at all soggy, really good Egg drop soup - solid, tasty staple, great value House special wonton soup - complete surprise, but good; light broth with lots of steamed vegetables, chicken, pork and shrimp, will definitely get again (especially on one of my health kicks) Pork Lo Mein - great flavor, kind of light on veggies besides cabbage but very good base to pile entrees on House Special Fried Rice - lots of good meat, pretty big shrimp for what I would expect, another good base Yummy entrees: Beef with Broccoli - sweet and rich brown sauce, awesome meat to broccoli ratio Orange Chicken - very citrusy because they actually use orange zest, impressive ingredient quality compared to most places Moo Goo Gai Pan - awesome variety of steamed veggies and mushrooms in a white sauce with chicken Garlic Chicken - I asked for this extra spicy and it actually came with some heat, it's never enough, but very good; lots of bell peppers and onions in this dish I wasn't disappointed with a single dish, I can't wait to try less Americanized dishes now I know how good this place is!

This is Americanized Chinese food, no doubt about it, but it's AWESOME. I love that there are tofu entrees (the General Tso tofu is amazing, the sesame tofu is a bit sweet for me), and the broccoli and other veggies in the dishes are crazy fresh. Thumbs up for the (veggie!) dumplings and spring rolls as well. The best part is their online ordering system. It's easy, accurate, and they pay attention to any special requests you have. Plus a $13 order minimum for deliveries and NO DELIVERY FEE?! Beat that, Bite Squad.

Solid, dependable and fairly priced. Xin Wong is our go-to for Chinese food delivery. Every month or so, I just have to have some wonton soup and an egg roll, and it's always delicious.

I don't know what happened to this place. Up until September 2012 this place was excellent. Now their food tastes gross. Oily, not as fresh and their employees seem angry now. Meat is all string and chicken has quills in it. Nasty. I have lost my love for this place.

If you ever have an insatiable craving for Americanized Chinese food made to-go or for delivery, this is your go-to destination in South Minneapolis. It's simply fantastic and the portion sizes are quite generous. I've probably been here more than 30 times over the last few years. I'm embarrassed to admit I shamelessly devour something as simple as sweet and sour chicken with rice...and this is the only place I'll do it at!

Alright. It is currently 7:26 PM and let me explain the events that just occurred. 6:23 PM - Talking to a buddy who mentions Chinese food. 6:26 PM - Realized it's Wednesday and my wife won't be home until 8 6:27 PM - Yelped "Chinese Food' 6:29 PM - Decided to try Xin Wong 6:31 PM - Saw their prices, that I could order online and what they have to offer 6:33 PM - Completed my order ONLINE with confirmation only spending $10 6:40 PM - Left my house to pick up my food 6:44 PM - Left Xin Wong to return home with my goodness 6:46 PM - Opened the bag and realized that they slipped in an extra egg roll - but that there was WAY more than enough food for one (gave the dog a bite) 7:02 PM - completed my mean with an excellent fortune cookie "your financial situation will improve" 7:05 PM - Clean up completed - with lunch ready for tomorrow 7:10 PM - Turned on the OnDemand since I missed Parks and Rec last week 7:13 PM - Grabbed the computer and began the random loop that got me back to Yelp to write about how much I enjoyed my evening's meal. Food = 5 stars Price = 6 stars (yup, I just turned it up) Service = 5 stars (I love the fact that I can order online and it worked PERFECTLY) location = 5 stars (lot parking - but not really an eat-in kind of place) Tips: This is my new favorite local Chinese place and it should be your's too.

I left an upset negative review previously but after not being an every weekend frequent customer I caved after a month or so. This time I ordered on the app to avoid interaction with the cashier and the manager delivered. He was nice; not sure if he recognized me. But the food was quite tasty and fresh. I'm still a bit upset about the cashier's rudeness last time and since only your most recent review counts towards the overall rating I can't get to 4 or 5 stars yet until the cashier redeems herself at some point. Thanks

Let's be clear: This is cheesy takeout Chinese food. That being said, this is far and away the best cheesy takeout Chinese I've ever had. The chicken is moist and crispy, the fried rice is flavorful and has some chew to it, the wontons are fresh out of the fryer and a little bit sweet. Really, really fantastic. It's the only Chinese I'll eat now!

The online ordering is great (there's an option to make special requests, and they actually pay attention to them!), the delivery is free and fast enough, and the food is excellent for what it is -- cheap, mass-appeal Chinese food in a community that has a dearth of solid Chinese restaurants. I see many lazy weekend orders in my future.

We've settled on Xin Wong for our Chinese take out primarily because they have gluten-free Chow Fun but also because we like their complete and large menu. I'm a sucker for the pork fried rice and sweet and sour pork. The ribs too are great and last time I ordered and enjoyed one of their combo plates. Takeout service is very fast and I am told their delivery (free within 3 miles - and they stretch that a bit) is fast and reliable. Parking is in their small, strip mall parking lot. There are a couple of tables but this is not really a dine-in spot unless you just need somewhere to sit down and eat.

Very Similar to the Chinese on Dupont next to CVS off Lake street. Food tastes exactly the same. Same packaging etc.

Ordered Sesame Chicken and Cream Cheese Wontons for delivery. I've found my new local go to for Chinese. The chicken was moist and not fatty. The sauce was tasty and flavorful. The broccoli was fresh and delicious. The wontons were still molten when they arrived, not soggy like they were sitting around for a long time.

Great food, but the hospitality could be better. They do know how to cook fresh Chinese!

The best Americanized Chinese-type food I have found in the area. They switched the menus back to the original, colorful, takeout menus I first brought in when I decided to try them. The old ones had a 20% off an order cutout. I did notice everything on their menu went up a least $0.50, it's still the same food and I plan on coming back because IT IS good. Their nice fried Spring rolls are a nice option to more deeply fried egg rolls. I noticed they hired a smokin' hot mamacita Latina girl to ring up orders, possibly because all the Spanish speaking people that come in. Nice, nice.....

Good food and quick delivery. I like the amount of fresh vegetables they include in their main dishes. Also, their egg rolls are great!

So we decided to take the chance and order from here. We had them deliver it. Huge portion sizes and we will not be ordering from here again. Back to looking for another Chinese place in the neighborhood. Try this place at your own risk. The best item: (there had to be one) The broccoli in the main dishes Okay: The dumpling soup (the dumplings were so big) The hot and sour soup The cream cheese wontons The Lo Mein was okay The egg rolls Not good: The orange beef omg so much breading on that beef you got more breading than meat. The General Tso Chicken was also heavily breaded.

I just tried this for the first time last night as I continue to search for the best Chinese delivery in the South Minneapolis area. Overall, it was pretty good. I really enjoyed the lo mein - we ordered both vegetarian and chicken. The egg rolls were really good too. The cream cheese in the wontons was a little too sweet for my liking, I typically like it saltier. I also ordered fried dumplings, but am fairly certain they were vegetarian because they didn't contain pork like usual. I wish that would've been called out on the menu, but they were still good for a vegetarian option. I think I'd try this place again.

I used to live in the area and would order from Xin Wong regularly. They're fast and never screw up orders. It's Americanized Chinese but it's delicious!

Pretty solid low-cost Chinese. Veggies are usually very fresh, online ordering works GREAT, and the delivery is pretty quick. Food comes piping hot as well. Somewhat more expensive than China Wok on 46th and Nicollet and Chinatown by Rainbow (but will NEVER go there again after finding out they are the most health-code violated restaurant in Mpls!)

People that have been following my reviews for a few months are probably aware of my deep and abiding love for the Crappy American Chinese Food category. "Crappy" here is not an insult, but it is nonetheless accurate: you feel a little crappy while eating it because every delicious mouthful reminds you of how you will be feeling in the near future, and you will eat too much because my god sauce! and feel crappy for at least 36 hours after your binge of heavy, fried, saucy, spicy, delicious nonsense. Now, I am by no means a connoisseur of Crappy American Chinese Food. I order one of two things (General Tso's Chicken or Orange Chicken), and one more often than the other. Tonight I deviated from my usual General Tso's order because I had been daydreaming about Panda Express' Orange Chicken through much of my hair coloring. (Why didn't I just go to Panda Express, you ask? Because going to MOA just for quick take-out from the food court is the ultimate definition of Sadness for me.) So, forever in search of a Crappy American Chinese Food joint that isn't in Roseville, I poked around and came across this place. I placed an online order for take-out while sitting in my car post-cut'n'color, and by the time I got there about fifteen to twenty minutes later it was ready to go. Inside, it was fluorescent-light bright and shiny white and clean. Good signs, good signs. This isn't really a dine-in kind of place, but that's perfect. Who doesn't want to take their over-ordered horde of Crappy American Chinese Food home and stuff their faces with it under the non-judgmental glow of the television?! No one, and if you're not eating it that way you are missing out on the proper Crappy American Chinese Food experience. I ordered the Orange Chicken to be the spiciest possible and it totally wasn't, but that's because my taste buds were burned off by a year of red pepper on everything while living in Asia (where Crappy American Chinese Food isn't readily available but Saucy Fried Chicken is for really cheap, and this is why I run, y'all) so it's probably spicy for most people. I don't know. I've lost all context (and taste buds) for spicy. The chicken fried rice had big hunks of chicken in it, so bonus there! The egg roll, though. Y'all. The. Egg. Roll. It's so good I'm considering going to my fridge and scarfing the last one down cold, even though the post-Crappy American Chinese Food Bloat and Life Regret has firmly set in. It's just the right amount of fried greasy, and the flavor balance inside is so shockingly good I actually exclaimed aloud to the episode of Star Trek I was watching about how awesome the unassuming-looking egg roll was. The portions are also so large that I expect I won't have to worry about figuring out what to make for dinner for the next couple of nights. I like that. I like that a lot. I'm impressed enough by this place that even if the General Tso's is only just decent it won't stop this from being my new go-to Crappy American Chinese Food joint.

Perfectly serviceable Chinese...nothing great, but not bad either. Lunch specials are a deal; heaping helpings of standard Asian served with your choice of white or pork fried rice, which is pretty darned good. Egg rolls are better than average.

Xin Wong is nothing fancy and has a menu similar to a million other Chinese restaurants but when I'm craving Chinese takeout, this is my go-to place. Part of the reason for that is that it's within walking distance of my house, but in reality, everything I've ever ordered has actually been pretty good. Those cream cheese wontons especially...mmmmmm :)

So happy to be the first to review this wonderful establishment I eat here almost weekly cause it is that exquisite! They always have fresh everything and they don't use too much msg. Preparation time is super fast you could have two full dinner orders cooked in about fifteen minutes and they deliver in a reasonable time. The chicken and brocolli is always tasty and delish! Plus the family that works here is so sweet and adorable sometimes you see the lil baby running around playing! So cute. Eat here now!

Pretty darn good food for typical "on the street" Chinese. Really fresh vegetables, flavorful meat and sauces. Delivery was accurate and fairly quick. Egg rolls were a little skimpy but whatever. Will definitely order from again!

My new favorite Chinese take-out place! I stumbled across it when I stopped next door for cupcakes at the new Sweets Bakeshop. When I walked in, they were hand-making cream cheese won tons, so I was excited (maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect a lot of places just use the pre-made frozen variety). I ordered the lunch special size of their sesame chicken which came with very some yummy pork fried rice (nice chunks of pork, yet not overly greasy) and an egg roll which was crisp, not soggy. The sesame chicken was as good, if not better than other similar places. The best part though were the steamed pork dumplings. They were clearly hand-made, generously sized and were nicely seasoned. There were enough in the order to make a whole meal for one person! I'll definitely be back, whether I'm in the neighborhood for cupcakes or not!

Chinese food seems to be one of those things that we get cravings for and too often regret it afterwards. NOT THIS CHINESE PLACE! Of all the delivery places I've ordered from this place takes the cake. Not only are they FAST but their food tastes ultra fresh, not like it's been sitting in a warmer. I've ordered three times from them and each time I have been impressed with the speed and quality of their food (their prices are reasonable even in comparison with other Chinese places in the area). The only qualm I could possibly have is they never seem to make my food as spicy as I like it...but I'm sure they're just playing it safe and I appreciate it. :)

Ok, so they're slowly redeeming themselves, after an incident with an irate employee leaving me screaming messages because he called the wrong number. The food is good, and at least the person who takes your order is nice. You may be able to win me back, Xin Wong, but it's going to take some work.

Out of my whole meal, the only semi-delicious part was the fried rice. Their vegetables were very fresh and the other Yelpers were correct, but the downfall was this nasty sweet red sauce. I ordered Szchwan Chicken. I received chicken and fresh vegetables in a chili sweet and sour sauce. Absolutely disgusting and I will never order from there again. If I had a car, I would have went there and returned it. One hint that I should have tried something different: 1) The menu came in the mail. I don't tend to fair well with places that bulk mail their menu to you. You are now warned.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
