The first bite I took, transported me back time to a place I lived on the north side of Mpls. The original Wing Joint was on W. Broadway. Those Tuesday nights of the 24 for 9$ wing special were a faded memory, until I discovered the Wing Joint on a Yelp search for chicken wing places in the twin cities. My yelp buddy Steve T. and I rolled in the place on a Saturday night. We were the only people in there. That made me a little sketched out, I was thinking to myself I hope this don't suck. Any ways I eye ball the menu and place an order of wings and fries, with cole slaw, Steve does the same. We sit down and wait for order. While we are waiting there is a stream of people coming in for pick up. Now that's a good sign. The order was up, I got the dry rub wings with a side of buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing, and wasted no time busting into them meaty delights! Man, just as I remembered that dry rub is fantastic, with the side dipping sauces I was in heaven! The fries were good, the coleslaw it was just ok. The Wing Joint has greatly expanded their menu since the old day, I need to go back to explore it. BTW, they still have a wing special on Tuesdays, I can't remember the price though. If you like meaty dry rubbed wings I highly recommend! As for the rest of the menu, enter at your own risk. BEWARE, if you afraid of a full wing, thats how they are served, don't be a pussy and enjoy! Also this place is like a Subway, in that the minute you walk in, your going to smell just like the place. You've been warned!

Finger licking good. Dry rub is where it's at people! Come on Tuesdays get the wing tub for 20 bucks (it's 24 wings), call ahead of time and don't forget to tip well the workers. They are making the world a better place... Seriously a Blaine hidden jewel.

Not sure of how the wings are made at JJ's or Slim's but here you have two choices, buffalo or standard and the standard are definitely my preference as I prefer my wings dry. This non-descript strip mall location is putting out wings the way I remember them to be when this place was located in N. Mpls on West Broadway. The wings being cooked to a crispy outside, moist inside, perfection. You can get other items here from ribs to cheese curds but the reason I made the drive was for the wings and it is definitely something I'll go back for. This no frill place serves only water and sodas and takeout was the main thing happening. The dining area seats maybe a dozen people but was clean and comfortable. A great little hole-in-the-wall.

Was craving wings and yelp came through again! Driven past this past tons of times but never been in here. Was nice inside. I got 20 wings to go! I was starving! They were the standard dry rub wings but they were heavenly! They were triple jointed wings which are tight and harder to find! The taste was salty savory sweet. The best! Need to come back soon!

The only Wing Joint left in the state & mmmmm they are great! My 3 1/2 year old daughter's new favorite place. I order my wings fried hard with extra seasoning, their homemade sweet and sour sauce and the hot and spicy sauce. Order more than what you think you might eat because before you know it, they are all gone. It is rare that I hear complete silence over dinner, except of course when everyone is busy devouring these delicious wings! Highly recommended.

OMG! They have the BEST wings in the entire metro area. I've been to the Wing Joint a number of times. The wings aren't sauced but rubbed with a blend of herbs and spices that are just mouth watering. The spices aren't "hot" but have a mix of flavors. It reminds me a bit of the old Art Songs in Minneapolis. Unfortunately I don't get up by the Wing Joint as often as I used to but I do make a point of getting up there every few weeks. The wings are crisp, juicy and send a spiced flavor sensation across your tongue as you devour them. They make the wings fresh when you order. I usually call to order ahead of time and order a bucket. They take about 10 to 15 minutes to cook. I have to admit I start eating them while driving home. Not the safest I know but they're soo good. I get mine with extra seasoning. They also offer other kinds of chicken, ribs, burgers, cheese curds, etc but to be honest all I've gotten are the chicken wings with the occasional onion ring order to add some veggies to the meal! They do have a few booths but most orders seem to be take out. It's located in a little strip mall so there's plenty of nearby parking too. They have a special on 24 wings on Tuesdays.

This is fantastic food. Never seen such hot and well cooked chicken. Excellent drop in and reasonable prices. WOW the broasted chicken... Probably among the best I have eaten

Hot, fresh, juicy, in your face flavor that you will embarrass yourself enjoying as you loudly go mmmmmmmm. I love this place for the broasted chicken and the cheese oles. Made to order, so hot that it's still hot as you finish it. Been here a number of times, and they're consistent. I love it, and every time I come here it feels like treating myself.

I was wanting wings and that is what I got. Yet what I did not expect was the taste of something a little off that I recognized as old used oil. That taste put me off my meal immediately yet the Buffalo sauce was nice and flavorful yet could do nothing to battle that off taste in the meat of the wings. With its distance off my main paths of travel. I might not be able to give them a second chance.

It's a Friday night, the husband and I are sipping a few cocktails at Old Chicago's Happy Hour (I don't think I can sound any more like an early 30s-something suburbanite), and we just really don't want to go home and cook. Let's search Yelp for what is around! We came across the reviews for this place and the pictures are straight up food porn. We had to try it! Overall, we were very happy with our first meal here especially since we weren't really sure what direction to go off of on the menu. We each ordered a combo and decided to split the onion rings. The onion rings = omgheaveninyourmouth. Now, you only need to eat like three of these before the grease bomb hits your stomach, but those three onion rings are bliss. Economically, the combos are the best way to go if people want different things because ordering a'la cart definitely requires you to order in a much larger bulk rather than just a single piece of chicken or a random amount of wings. My husband got the 5 wings deal and I ordered the 2 piece broasted chicken. Each combo came with fries and cole slaw. The broasted chicken is UNBELIEVABLE. Seriously, people, get yourself to Blaine and try the broasted chicken. It's so crisp, flavorful, and so juicy. The cole slaw was good, too. Flavorful but not too creamy. Here's where the verdict is still out and why it's currently a 4 star review instead of a 5: we both honestly thought the wings were kind of weird. They were crispy and breaded well but the seasoning was strange. It was weirdly sweet and spicy. I know that doesn't help much in terms of how they tasted, but it wasn't like anything we ever had before and that wasn't necessarily a positive to the experience. The fries were also pretty soggy. Now, granted, we ordered our food as takeout, so I know some of the crispiness faded in the car, but they did seem a little under-cooked, which didn't help. We will definitely be coming back but we both agreed that we would order a small bucket of the broasted chicken and try some of the other sides. Also, if you are not dining in, definitely call ahead because we had to wait about 20 minutes for the food. Not a deal breaker, but good to know.

Love this place! Always fresh food everytime I eat here. The staff are incredibly friendly as well. Their brosted chicken and cheese oles are my go to when eating here. The chicken very hot and juicy when it arrives so be careful! Wings and ribs are honestly just OK and their burgers are good too but nothing special. One thing you can count on though is that it will be fresh. Even if you have wait 15 minutes or more for your food, it is worth it. Very small place though and it can get pretty warm. They have take out too though and with how fresh the food is, you won't have to worry about it getting cold by the time you get home :)

Not quite sure what all these ppl are raving about but this is no different from going to kfc and throwing a bunch of Lowrys salt on the meat. The wings were so salty I used 1/2 bottle of ketchup to dilute the awful saltiness. I was the only one in the shop and had to wait 15mins.....? Don't believe the hype!!

If there is a sick place as chicken wing heaven it would be Wing Joint. The wings here are always fresh. Never ever old smelling. The are perfectly deep fried and then tossed in a seasoning that is so secret that mums the word. No matter how hard I try to pry. Sometimes when I'm on Atkins I ask if there is sugar in it. Even an easy question like that warrants the I can't say answer. All they can say is if you have any hesitations don't eat. So of course I eat it. I eat it so much that sometimes I think I'm going to suck my finger off. There is something about the crispy wings with the salty seasoning that u don't know what in it that makes u crave it even more. In a nutshell. 1. Come on Tuesday for tub Tuesday's. Wings are only $20 2. Call ahead. Even though u can sit and eat. I like to take mine home so that I can lick my fingers wout any shame. 3. Ask for a stamp when you order a tub 4. Remember to bring your stamp in

Expecting BWWs sized wings, but pleasantly surprised the were full sized wins. Seasoning was good, but maybe ask to be used sparingly if you don't want alot of salt. Prices are reasonable especially for lunch special!

As long as the fiance and I have been together, this little place in a non-descript strip mall along University has caught my eye. Something about the name, Wing Joint, it called out to me like some sort of siren song. Alas, it seemed whenever I thought of getting food from Wing Joint, it was late and they were already closed or I'd had a few too many beverages and no one would drive me over there. Finally, tonight with the fiance out of town, I decided to head over there and check it out. It's a pretty small spot with limited seating, I think they're really more geared towards carry out. As their name implies, the have wings on the menu, both hot (buffalo) and regular wings. These wings are full wings, deep fried with no breading. The regular wings are seasoned with some kind of blend of spices. Along with the wings they also have ribs, burgers and a few other not-so-healthy items on the menu. But hey, if you were looking for health food, you probably wouldn't be in a place called Wing Joint in the first place. I walked in and placed my order, a half rack of ribs and six regular wings to go. The gal behind the counter informed me it would be 15-20 minutes, which was no big deal since I expected to wait as I hadn't called ahead. It was probably closer to 10 minutes when I had my food which was nice. I made the short drive back home and tore into my dinner. The ribs were really good, better than I expected really. They were really big, full of meat and very tender. They appeared to have a bit of a dry rub and were sauced with a mild tomato-y sauce. The only downside to the ribs was that I don't believe they were smoked, or, if they were, they had no smoke flavor and no pink smoke ring. A bit of smoke flavor would have made these ribs close to perfect in my book. The wings were good as well, though not quite as exciting as I'd hoped. First, the size of the wings was really underwhelming. Most of my 6 wings had little meat of them. Second, that the wings were supposed to be seasoned with some sort of spice blend, I didn't think they had much flavor beyond a hint of salt. Despite that, they were hot and crispy so they definitely weren't all bad. I'll definitely be back to Wing Joing, for the ribs and I'd like to try the wings again just to see if I had them on an off night.

Wing Joint is a place that serves, wait for it, fried chicken wings. These are meaty wings they season with a dry rub and fry to perfection. They also serve Burgers, Ribs, shrimp, broasted chicken and fish. I have only had their wings and ribs, while other items do look tempting, I stick with what I like. The wings are meaty with a sweet and salty seasoning. Dipping sauces aren't needed, but available. Ribs are pretty good, but the wings, are the star. Small place with a few tables, probably best to get your food to go.

Who gives a 5 star review to a wing place in a non-descript suburban strip mall? People who really like wings ... like me. I have driven by this place many times and never really considered stopping until recently. The enthusiasm displayed by my fellow yelpers got to me. I don't consider it misplaced. The place doesn't look like much. Its clean, but worn. I felt like a light snack, So we ordered - 12 wings jojo potatoes and two drinks. My light snack turned into a meal because a wing here means a wing, not a piece of a wing. And as you can see in my picture these wings come from decent size chickens. The flavor is awesome. They are crisp and lightly seasoned. I couldn't quite place the flavor. But we loved it.

Inexpensive, great food, service isn't always on par. Lots of different flavor options.

Really good dry rub wings. They are a little salty but have a nice sweetness to them as well. Also, friendly service.

Crave-worthy wings make this restaurant a standout in the NW Metro. I love their dry rub seasoning (salty with a cinnamon & sugar kick) on the whole wings - such a pleasant change from the typical sauce-drowned wing pieces everywhere else. For sides, I've had hojo potatoes, cheesy oles (fave), cole slaw, onion rings. All good, although it would be nice to see more non-fried options. The location is great for takeout (usually a 10-15 min wait while they cook it), considering that the interior isn't incredibly inviting. One plus is that the ventilation system must be good because you don't walk out smelling of frying oil. Service has always been very friendly and swift.

This, and I say with confidence, is THE BEST WINGS IN MN. Throw your poo. I've tried hooks, J's J's, hickory hut, etc etc...They are all very good. But wing joint has that flavor that get branded in your brain where all the other happy things live. True story: every Tuesday I get this internal reminder that their bucket of 24 wings (drummy/wing combo) is $20 bucks...and then I drive home sad and eat a piece of celery. I believe its their cooking oil and the cinnamon in the seasoning...its amazing...and I always get their buffalo sauce. I dare anyone to buy a bucket and try not to eat one before you get home. Its impossible. I'm a filthy beast with chicken wing bones in my cup holder...yup.

Wing Joint rocks! I have patronized this place for years and have always received tasty food at good prices. Outstanding seasoned wings and broasted chicken. Wing Joint has a big menu, but I haven't tried any of the other offerings. Call ahead on your way home and they'll be ready in minutes. Tuesday night is "Tub Night," where you get a special on 24 wings. BTW, these aren't the scrawny little wings you get at the chain places. You get good, plump wings here.
