Joey style wings & cheese curds & tots! If you're looking for a fancy bar...this is not it. However, if you love Wings and Cheese curds (like me) then it's a good place to visit. Their Joey Style wings are different than most wings. "Joey Style" are seasoned ovenbaked, flash fried then lightly grilled...and are basically some of the best wings ever. I'm not a fan of extra spicy but I love Buffalo Wings, and they have figured out how to do it right. Most likely will order the same Buffalo Wings every time I go back now. I would give this 5 stars just for the wings. They also have a decent tap menu including many craft beers.

First time staying in downtown Minneapolis. This place is laid back, good food and great drinks. Right across the street from the Courtyard Marriott in 7 corners. A must visit

It's ok. Again, I live around the seven corners area so I go here more as a matter of convenience. The food is pretty standard. As I've mentioned in the past, I don't really enjoy regular bar fare. Drinks are ok as well. Overall just a decent experience. Nothing particularly impressive though. The crowd wasn't too rowdy any of the times I was there so you can hold a decent conversation with friends or dates.

The wings are great. However, I have experience bad service here on more than one occasion. Also, there is nothing else on the menu even worth mentioning. I'm not sure how a buffalo chicken wrap can get messed up, but this place manages to do it. Those ingredients could literally be thrown on a plate and the outcome would be better than the sloppy, impossible to eat mess that I was served.

I love this place. I've been staying near here the last 4 weeks and as much as I try to pry myself away I can't. I am a wing aficionado. I LOVE great wings. These might be THE BEST EVER. Baked, flash fried then grilled. Get Joey style. Super friendly. I came here tonight after republic's kitchen failed. Shrimp wrap was delicious and filling. For far less than I was planning on spending at republic. Kudos corner bar. My new regular spot in the twin cities.

Be sure to park directly behind the bar for $5 discount off tab. Select "yes" for second receipt when the machine asks. I do enjoy this place when I want a quiet place to eat. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is kept clean, and I absolutely love the pizza/salad/soup bar. Don't forget to grab a cookie!

Came here on a business trip and stayed across the street at the Marriott Courtyard. I'm from Texas so hospitality goes a long way, and my waitress did a very good job at it. I walked in by myself around 7pm and sat myself at a table, it wasn't even a minute before she came with a menu and offered my first drink which was a blue moon (only one I recognized from the ones she listed). Didn't take me long to decide on an order but by that time she had already brought me my drink. Decided to have the sweet chili wings, and they were delicious. Every time my glass was about 2/3 done she was already there offering another. Had three total, and the check was very fair. Gave her a very good tip. My wife is a server and I could tell you that she (corner bar employee) did an excellent job.

I used to live around the corner from this place and go to school at the U, so I spent a fair amount of time at Seven Corners. I'll be honest, I don't really get this place's appeal. Every other bar at this corner has or had a thing. Republic is upscale bougie spot with exotic imported beer and frou-frou food; before that, Sgt. Preston's was a shit-hole for crowds getting plastered. Bullwinkle's is a loveable dive. Town Hall is a nice little homey craft brewery. The Corner Bar was just a random generic, mediocre sports bar. Service was alright whenever I dropped in. But the food was mediocre. More importantly, the sports fan vibe was mediocre; I never really felt that "buzz" you feel move through a crowd when something good or special happens in a game. Was pretty much my last resort for catching a game. To top it off, I found it a little pricy for what it was.

This is a sports bar. Simple. They have plenty of screens to accommodate everybody's favorite team. The tenders are very good. The servers are excellent. Well above average. Special compliment to Katherine.

First off, let me tell you why I am now a fan of the Corner Bar. It's because of Joe the bartender and Heather who is either the other bartender or manager. Both of these two made this a fun bar even though it was pretty much empty. My friend and I headed over here to try a new bar and although the beer selection was a bit lacking, we werent left too disappointed. The waffle fries were very good as far as waffle fries go. I would normally rate this a 3-star, but like I mentioned, great bartenders!

Great place and great prices! I've been twice now, and it's never been so crowded that I wasn't able to grab a table to have an easier time talking with friends, and the prices are CHEAP compared to other bars in the area. In terms of food, I've only had appetizers and they weren't stellar (I can melt cheese over tortilla chips and chicken slices too), but if you just need a bite with your drink it definitely gets the job done.

Where to begin? My boyfriend and I were looking for your typical sports bar to watch football. After driving around downtown for about an hour, we decided on The Corner Bar. We should have just gone home and heated up leftovers. First of all, we walked in and it smelled like an old woman's closet. Seriously, old potpourri mixed with cheap perfume. Still, we disregarded it and sat at the bar. The servers were relatively attentive and brought us drinks at a decent time, though the beer was extremely flat. When the tap ran out on our next round of drinks, the bartender simply topped off the flat beer from the old keg with a splash of new beer. Seriously, what did you save by doing that, two cents? But the piece de resistance: the cheese curds. Holy hell, I'm from California, and even I knew those sad little turds were bad. Pretty sure they had freezer burn, and they were stale and way too breaded. We think they yanked them out of the freezer and threw them in the microwave. Best of all? It cost us $30 for three flat beers and an order of cheese turds. Not to mention listening to old men drunkenly dancing to "Blurred Lines" on repeat while trying to watch the game on archaic projectors. Needless to say, we won't be going back any time soon.

Awesome salad bar! It has ALMOST everything that you could ever want to put on a salad plus something else..pepperoni? Who knew? Great burgers! The pizza buffet looked pretty good as well. Service was great for our bigger work group.

I feel a bit bad giving this place 2 stars because it is exactly how it presents itself. I really want to give it 2.5 stars. Actually yes, I rate this as a 2.5. Corner Bar that you can stop in to to grab a beer and burger (I hope they serve burgers, I actually have never eaten here). The bartenders seemed friendly, I was having trouble buying a parking pass in their lot and came in to ask if there was a different way I could pay since the machine seemed to be down. They were quick to make a phone call and even come out themselves to help see if they could try to figure it out. Drinks were fairly priced and the few times I've been in I haven't had a problem grabbing a seat. It's just almost unfair to have this right next to the Republic and Town Hall. Strictly focusing on beer the choice is clear which is better but if you just want some mixed drinks I would definitely say this is a decent casual place to hang out.

Arrived late, hungry, after driving in from Chicago. Had a local friend waiting on me for late dinner. Originally had planned on dinner at the Republic, however tonight was some sort of annual party. Stopped in the Corner Bar on a whim, and it turned out the kitchen was already shut down. After a few moments of deliberation on other options, Jeremy came by to notify us he'd turned back on the grill! An amazing turkey, bacon, mushroom melt filled my empty stomach. Awesome twin cities Guiness pour as well, I might add. Thanks for the hospitality and great experience!

The TVs are very small and there needs to be about 40 more of them. Seriously. The projection TVs are turned off on the biggest hockey day of the year!!

Ah, the corner. O how I love thee! When you are missing your college days, or just want a shot, Corner Bar is the place to go. I must say, it is your run-of-the-mill sports bar. Huge TV's and plenty of them, complimented by an even bigger projection screen for watching the big game or fight that is on any given night. Buck Hunter, Golden Tee, crack-box at the bar, darts, pool - check, check, check, check, check. (Sometimes they move the pool table so that you can bust some moves in front of the big glass windows by the bus stop.) Service is friendly and mostly efficient, especially when you work in the same general vicinity! (I like you guys!) Beer is average. Not good. Not bad. Just average. However, they can make you a mean shot! If you have 4 friends, and they all happen to be at Corner Bar at the same time as you, try a shot-ski. Nothing like team building while marathon drinking! Food is good. I generally limit myself to the 'Almost World Renownd Joey Wings' and the pizza. I normally open up and try new things, but come on, you can't go wrong with dry-rubbed wings and pepperoni! I love it here. I know what it is and am not scared to say it. You can be a big boy/girl and choose to go here or not. You know what you will get, but why not have a good time...and eat some of the wings! They are almost world famous you know!

It's alright for a Seven Corners night out, but I wouldn't make a special trip unless there was a good reason. My BF went to law school on the West Bank, so we've been here quite a few times over the years even though it's not a favorite. One of the most memorable visits was the Zombie Pub Crawl (post-Yelp Blood Bath), where it was so crowded that we couldn't get inside. We snagged a table on the sidewalk and did not move for the rest of the crawl. We're so old and lame, but Corner Bar was a lifesaver that night. We recently came for our friend's birthday and they did a great job with the casual party. He actually purchased a keg from the bar, so our group got wristbands and we just were able to have at it all night. They also kept his cake in the fridge until it was time to blow out the candles. I thought that was really nice of them to do, even on a pretty busy weekend night. They have a little-known comedy club in the basement, but I've never been down there.

Sooooooooooo slow. Sorry I'm not a typical Minnesota perp. Seriously could not even order food because it was soooooo slow . Hardly anyone here bar. IS EMPTY . Waitresses flirting with the bartender telling him to be gentle shoving things into the pocket

Holy crap I think i had the best mushroom swiss burger I've had in my life. OMG. seriously. Was there for lunch the other day. AND, the service was really really really prompt and friendly AND funny. I'll be back!

I've been back a few times recently, I like the place. I like places with a bunch of chuckleheads behind the bar, hell, gimme chuckleheads all over the place. Me being a genuine meathead doofus, I've kinda let their new corndog special create intermittent cravings, the State Fair fare exceeds fair. Yes, I amused myself with that sentence.

The Joey Wings are almost world famous vs actually being world famous because they aren't that good. Greasy which was surprising as they are grilled. (I'm from upstate NY so I know my wings). For sports - TVs are not ideal - projection TVs don't show well in the daylight. There was one OK HD TV at the bar but small. So not good to watch games either. Burger was good, beer list decent, service was competent, but there are better places to choose from. Tip - park in the lot out back and get validated.

Second night in a row. Tonight we tried the Joey wings and a medium pizza. The wings were outstanding, pizza was well cooked and the tomato sauce tasted home made. All in all a great experience!

This place provides a solid atmosphere, friendly staff, unpretentious patrons and good food. The week night specials are pretty good. I recommend going on a Tuesday when they have $3 tacos (for 3 hard shells) and $3 Coronas. They'll take your parking off of your bill, too. So park in the lot behind the building and bring in your ticket.

We went here after attending a Fringe show at the Southern Theater. The weather was nice so we decided to sit outside, which was a good thing, as the volume of the music inside was quite loud for a Sunday evening. I had the french dip topped with cheese peppers and onions with a side of fries. The sandwich was large and both it and the au jus were good. My dinner partner had the west bank chicken sandwich. She enjoyed it. While it was nothing outstanding, it was better than regular bar food and I would consider eating here again.

Went the night before & right after Viking game. Night before was a little quiet but game day was busy and fun. Bartenders were good not great & wings "Joey style" were outstanding!

Too douchy for my likings, being on 7 corners and all, but they do have a pretty decent pizza! I guess, I would come back here, as long as it is during the day time on a weekday. I don't really care for the patrons of this place come the weekend. This whole corner is just full of drunken college guys..not what I care for! Other than that, if you like sports, beer, and pizza, this may be your fix.

My favorite bar in Minneapolis. The Corner Bar is noting fancy, but if you like decent bar food, good pizza, and great service, you should try the Corner Bar. I have been there on several occasions ranging from lunch, drinks after work or meals before or after downtown Minneapolis events. All are a good experience. It's also not a bad place to watch a Twins game. I mostly eat apps, but the sandwiches are good too. My favorite app are the Joey wings. They are grilled chicken wings with Buffalo sauce. Yum. The pizza there is also pretty good for for a bar. We used to go there after kick ball and get a few pizzas, all were a hit. I must admit, the pizza buffet during lunch is not as good as the made to order pizza (as you might expect). Also, I spend most of my time there during non peak hours. I do not know what it's like in there after 9pm. I think a lot of college students, which I can do without. I will definitely be back in the near future.

My coworkers were visiting from out of town and we ate here. They ordered the chicken and I had a burger. The burger was so so but the chicken from what they described was disgusting. Neither of them finished their food. We went back to the hotel and ate again there. Seems like a decent place to hang out for drinks though. That's about all I suggest you get there.

Had excellent time at the Corner Bar this weekend. It was primarily made that way by the friendly bartenders and the excellent table servers. It was very busy in there as I arrived and it thinned out approaching midnight-12:30am. Big open room atmosphere with bar in the middle. 2 dart boards as soon as you walk into the bar. I watched a guy pour 6 shots of Patron and use almost 95% of the bottle for it (beit the shots were $39 I believe, but damn a bottle itself costs $42!). I would defintely make another stop in here when in town. I would also make sure to visit Bullwinkles and Grandma's, but avoid SGT Prestons.

When I moved here 3 years ago I had heard raves about their Bob's pizza so I had to try it. I was quite good at that point and a value. Frankly, compared to Michigan, I was in sticker shock in general about the pizza prices in this town. Unfortunately, it has declined in quality over the years. It is now rather doughy and chewy. The prices haven't risen all that much, but the value isn't all that great. The drink prices are so-so. I could definitely do better for the beer price (and micro-brew quality) across the street at the Town Hall. The mixed drinks are just "eh" where I feel like for the price, the bartenders are substantially more heavy handed at Bullwinkle's. A redeeming factor for me is the NTN trivia. The next closest locations for me are a long walk across the river to Stub & Herb's or downtown to the non-descript 8th St. Grill. I really enjoy NTN, but can understand why it wouldn't attract certain people. Overall, it has nice interior decor (art on the walls) and it is clean, which isn't always the case in 7 Corners bars. I'd return for cocktails and grub only if my friends were adamant, but there are other haunts I prefer.

Would have loved to leave a great review here but frankly, after waiting 40 minutes for our food we still have none. They've apologized for being busy so if you arrive and if it is more than the 60% occupancy we have now you might look elsewhere for food.

Bob's, err I mean, the Corner Bar has been serving alcohol to me since I was 18. I too like Brad N have many special memories at the Corner Bar. Thank you fake IDs, dumb bouncers, and liberal management. Since 2001 I have watched the Corner Bar change names, change management, devleop a dance floor, change DJs, develop a pool table area and always offer great pizza. This place is always a ton of fun no matter what your purpose: pre Twins, post exams, or Saturday night at 1:47AM. XOXO Augsburg College represent --we love that flag hanging from the ceiling.

The "corner" where Washington Ave. turns into Cedar Ave. has always been a bit dicey for me. Personally, I've always thought the Town Hall Brewery across the way has the 2nd best brewpub pulls in town and I merely put up with the other bars on each corner, but a couple weeks ago I found myself on this corner with someone who required light beer. We went to the Corner Bar. I must say, while all the students are still in class, this place has an excellent happy hour in the afternoon. For my money I can't beat a place that offers free off-street parking while all the meters are enforced, pours me $2.00 taps and depending on the day serves up some really reasonable happy hour specials (last time I was there I got a taco platter for $3.00). The only problem is after classes let out this whole corner gets a bit rowdier than I care to be at my advanced age, and I feel I must retreat back to the Town Hall patio across the intersection. But if you're looking for a quiet place to sit and drink and read the paper in the afternoon, you should not overlook Corner Bar. I just have to treat it like my sketchy uncle who was great and thoughtful during the day, but got a little drunk and abusive after dinner.

The Corner Bar (formerly Bob's Pizza) holds many special memories for me. Many years ago work buddies and myself would hang out there pretty frequently. From the get-go the staff was open and friendly and soon became "friends". The owner, Billy, is a gem. He truly is a one-of-a-kind. You'll see him there almost any time of day. He takes the time to talk with all of the regulars, fills in doing bartending as needed, waits tables and appears to be the main delivery person. He has a passion for the business and it shows in his every day actions. The bartenders are the best in town. Truly. They are personable and interactive. They are there to serve as soon as you need one and pour quality drinks. I've haven't had something off the menu that I didn't like. Quality food from quality cooks. It's bar food of course but, hey, I've had messed up bar food before. Darts, jukebox, pool table and pull tabs can all be found here displayed in a classy fashion. The atmosphere is excellent. Roomy and bright. Excellent outdoor seating too. The best benefit of The Corner Bar is their off-street free parking. You won't find that anywhere in Minneapolis. As long as you register your car you're good to go. I recommend this place to anyone looking to have good drinks, good food and a good time.

We received the worst customer service we have ever witnessed here. One of the servers made a mistake and tried to blame us for it and the manager sided with her. We called to speak to the owner a couple days later but got another manager who swore, yelled, and hung up on us after refusing to allow us to connect to the owner to speak to him about it. We called back again and the same thing happened. So, we called one more time to let them know we were going to report it to the BBB and they finally took our name and number for the owner but then 5 mn later we got a call and they gave us the number for the BBB and told us to report it.

A co-worker and I were in town for business and happened to stop into this place on a Thursday night. It's conveniently located on the corner (lol) across the street from the Holiday Inn Downtown (1500 Washington Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN 55454) where we were staying. We only stopped in for drinks so I can't comment on the food, but the bartenders were really nice and gave us our first drink on the house. :-) They didn't skip on making sure the drink were strong, that's for sure. We stayed there for a few hours. It's mainly one big open space with some seating outside along the sidewalk. There was one pool table and quite a few large screens that were tuned into all the games going on at the time. Would I recommend this bar? Yes, if you aren't looking for much but a local spot to grab a drink and hang out. It's nothing fancy and everyone was very laid back. My experience was good and if I come back in town again for business I would go there again.

First of all, the owners are super cool (I used to be their ad rep), so when they took over this NE University landmark, they definitely added some fun. They have awesome pizza and salads. The best time to come is for lunch when they have a pizza buffet and for super cheap!
