This place changed its name to So Good Asian, which sounds like a dirty movie or something. The space is really nice and upscale compared to most skyway Chinese places, with large windows that provide great city views. I think a lot of people just walk by, though, because the restaurant is somewhat nondescript and behind glass. The general's chicken was pretty decent. The lemon grass chicken I had was flavorful with big mushroom chunks, but I think it was actually beef. The food I've had here is adequate at worst. So Good Asian is a handy, affordable lunch option. The people are friendly and they have combo options. If you don't need a ton of food, you won't have to spend much. It does get a little pricey when you add a soda, so maybe skip that in favor of water.

So good is a "so-so" lunchtime destination for inexpensive Asian fast food. If you are a fan of Panda Express, you might find So Good to your liking. The cafeteria-style menu at 'So Good' offers fast service and good variety at a low price. There is typically ample seating available, because it's not the easiest place to find.So Good is located on the second floor of the US Bank Plaza. It's located a few steps off the beaten skypath (behind Jimmy John's Subs). The location makes it easy to overlook. However, IMHO, so does the food. Much of the food is fried. What isn't bland is over-salted.

While you can get a very cheap 2-item lunch before 11:30 a.m. thanks to a 20% early bird discount - the fried rice they serve up is very very bland - no carrots or other items in there at all - bascially white rice with some coloring and one or two carrots thrown in the mix - terrible fried rice. The rice wasn't even mixed well so some of it was just white rice - odd! The staff is friendly and convenient location - but I think I'd look for other Asian options that have better fried rice. No green beans served here either.

Very good Minnesota-ized Asian food in the skyways of downtown Minneapolis. Fast, fresh, inexpensive, and friendly service. But their spicey and my spicey are two different defnitions. Kick up the spice level a notch and you'll get another star.

This is a great lunch place! The General Tao's chicken and pot stickers are always good. Friendly service and good food. I like the combo meal selections. Plenty of food for a decent price!

I went there before 11:30 to avoid the crowd, but instead what I got was leftover, dried, hard chicken from yesterday (or who knows how long ago). They only put more sauce over it to cover it up. Maybe going early to avoid lines is no longer a great idea?

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
