Please start going to El Centro Pupuseria. Really, it's not busy enough, and I really like the food. You will like it too, I promise. For $2.50, most ladies will be able to fill up on a single Pupusa. What is a pupusa you ask? Let Wikipedia tell you. A pupusa is a traditional Salvadoran dish made of thick, hand-made corn tortilla that is filled with a blend of the following: cheese (queso), cooked pork meat ground to a paste consistency, squash (ayote), or (pataste), refried beans (frijoles refritos), or queso con loroco. The two most common pupusas are the pupusa de queso (cheese) and more popular pupusa revuelta with mixed ingredients of queso (cheese), frijoles (beans),[1], and chicharrón. Pupusas are typically served with curtido (lightly fermented cabbage slaw with red chilies and vinegar) and a watery tomata salsa. I tell you, for several months, my lovely adventurous boyfriend refused to go to El Centro because he didn't want to eat something named Pupu. But now he's hooked. Grab your friends, and $20. Order some pupusa, some chicken enchiladas and a horchata. It's just that easy.

I visited El Centro with some friends before a performance at Heart of the Beast nearby. It was pretty empty when we arrived but they were getting busy by the time we paid our checks. I ordered one cheese and one squash&cheese pupusa. They were both quite good, though I preferred the squash. And plenty of food for the price. On the way out I bought a coconut sweet. Everything was delicious and I eagerly await my next visit.

So good. So cheap. So nice. Try all the pupusas, try all the other stuff too.

My three favorite things about El Centro: 1. Curtido -- that cabbage stuff is so good. SO good! 2. Horchata -- I never liked horchata until I had it here. 3. Good service -- the women who work here (and own it, I believe) are super nice. This place just has a nice family feel, although the previous reviewer was right -- it's never busy enough in here! So come on out! Oh, and they've got a frequent-pupusa-eater card, where you get punches for every pupusa you buy, and then there's a free one at the end.

Real good food for a very good price. I agree with everything said in the previous reviews. More people need to go here. And I say this for completely selfish reasons, I want to keep eating here. The pupusa is very good. I also recommend the fried yuca. And the people who work there are very friendly. Nothing negative to say.

Just ate here tonight and it was great! Kids loved it and the pupusas, horchata, yucca and testones were superb. Not busy, very friendly and tamarindo juice was a treat too!

Second dinner here with my honey. It was as delicious as the first. The pupusas are a must try!

Like eating clouds of butter. I'd say they melt in your mouth, but they are already melted. It's the Jucy Lucy of the south. And they non-pupusa food is also pretty good, like the chicken dishes, but why bother when you can eat melted cheese?

My girl and I are both from California, and she wanted some "authentic refried beans", which are pretty hard to come by in Minnesota. I have had better refried beans, but not by far. I also tried a pupusa (for the first time), the carne platter, fresh tamarind nectar, and the plantain empanadas. For their niche in the local restaurant market, I give them a 9 out of 10.

Good but not great. The pupusas were good enough and gladly not fried but baked on a griddle. The pickled salad not that good.

Excellent food. The Lorocco Pupusa and the Bean and Mint Pupusa is the bomb!

Horchata was delicious. Nice cinnamon and not overly sweet.
